#13734 12:15OCW Martin Cousins, Everest High and Brewmaker to tackle the Cox River Roads Rambling with a few additional caches on our way from and back to Sydney. We drove through some great rural countryside. Even in cloudy weather it looked pretty. TFTC
OCW Everest High, Its_Dozzie, Brewmaker along the Cox River Road, was the only stump seen here. Another with a great view
Found with EverestHigh, Martin Cousins, and Its_Dozzie. We decided to venture out to this trail. Signed as BM, EH, ID, and MC.After stopping for 3 caches that I had found back in 2018, it was good to grab a new smiley. Another quickie. TFTC

My apologies now for the repeated logs, this is after all a power trail of sorts, and as with my own, dont expect lengthy individual logs.Anything of note will be written at the end of the log.Needed some quality me time to help get my head into gear, so as the Geomissus has taken a two week interlude with the geodaughter in Victoria, I decided to take the opportunity to head out into the lesser travelled areas near the places I worked in many years ago, and also to gobble up some series I had been working on in the last few months. But on the way, also spend some extra time in my favourite location, the bush! This Power trail was actually just a warm up for my main target in Bathurst, around Peel Common, and actually only spotted this series by chance! The entire circuit was much longer than the 25-30k I anticipated, and was more like 50 by the geoAstra. What did really surprise me was the amount of traffic on the road, precisely what I was not expecting. The first few hides were tricky to pull over as they are doing a great deal of road work in that area, and a couple of others that I avoided as I was just a bit uncomfortable pulling of the road in those spots. But thats ok, had a nice visit to an area Ive not visited, but have been in the area having run 6 foot track many times! My favourite area by far was Sandy Hook, where I pulled up to have a refreshment break. No traffic there!
Visiting from NZ and enjoying a trip through the Blue Mountains. Great scenery and some quaint towns along the way. This one of a few caches we found after an intersting trip to the Jenolan Caves.TFTC
Taking the scenic route from Blue Mountains to Snowy Mountains, and enjoyed this among other stops.

Needed to stop and stretch the legs. Lovely views around these roads. Log book almost full. TFTH
Found it geocaching with malfromthefarm. Irondale's 300th cache for the month. Tftc
A trip to check out some of the awesome places in NSW and grab some old caches. TFTC.
Nice quick find
Nice quick find
I've had a love of the Cox's River and the western Blue Mountains area for a long time, so meandering through these back roads which hug the water courses and ridges was a perfect way to spend a morning in the Blue Mts.
Recent rains and run-off made some of these caches very hard to find as they were buried under sediment, while some of the roads were like outback 4WDriving.
Thanks for placing this series

We are on a cachey 10 day holiday, starting off with 2 nights at Emu Plains to hopefully collect the new GFA puzzle caches around Luddenham and some more of the Band caches north of Penrith. Then it’s 5 nights at Oberon to collect some of the many new & old puzzle caches that we have solved around the area, and also hoping to complete the Oberon Adventure Lab. After leaving Oberon we will be visiting Jenolan Caves, for both the caves and the Jenolan EarthCache, then heading to Katoomba for 2 nights to ride the Scenic World attractions (Railway, Cableway, & Skyway) and to do a few caches of various types plus an Adventure Lab. We will end the holiday with a stop-off at Wentworth Falls for some more caches and a couple of Adventure Labs.
Today we are travelling from Emu Plains to Oberon, with stop-offs at Medlow Bath and Blackheath for some caches and Antique Shop browsing, and will be taking the Coxs River Road route from Little Hartley to collect some of the "Coxs River Roads Rambling" cache series. This was our 28th find of the day (day 3), and 60th find of the holiday.
After a visit to Lowther War Memorial and Cemetery for some caches, we were now travelling along Jenolan Caves Road and this one was next, at the Marsden Swamp Road intersection. Marsden Swamp Road is currently closed and only accessible to residents, so the other caches along the road are not possible at present, but this one is OK and was a quick find. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC pandsa.

Decided we needed some numbers today and thought this trail would be easy but with long grass and some slightly wonky coords at times, it was slower going than we hoped so we pulled at the half way point and will be back for a more focussed visit later.
This was where it started to go wrong for us. Miss 9 put her head in a prickle bush and clumped all her hair together in bindi knots. We abandoned search. Not a genuine DNF maybe

It's a lovely day for a drive to pick up the last of the Wonders. We enjoyed these caches and the wonderful scenery. Thank you.
We have never been down this road before but we will be back to explore and see more of the awesome scenery. Thanks for placing caches here ans showing us a new place.
Not sure what I'm missing but the object appeared to be empty despite my best attentions, particularly given the cache size. Giving my timing constraints had to quickly move on.
Quick find and all in good condition Found with Kittykatch enjoying our time in the area and all the beautiful views. TFTC pandsa

Narrowly avoided running over a snake en route to this one. Found gz no problem, poked around & found the cache after a short search. TFTC pandsa xo
We camped at the Wallace Lakes rest area with the caravan, found a spot where we would not get bogged in with the copious rain we had experienced. This morning dawned foggy but with signs the sun would make an appearance. We started early and loved the scenic route we were taken on in finding the caches on this series. We saw many things including frogs, raging streams, kangaroos plus distant views of the mountains. Most caches were found after a short search though there were a couple we could not find. Thanks to pandsa for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
A fantastic series in beautiful countryside. Thanks for making this power trail. TFTC.
An early morning start and very smoky. Al to try and finish the Cox river series.
Really enjoyed the roads picked despite limited views. Heaps of kangaroos and even a wombat this morning. All caches were found quick and easy.

Today it was decided to take a run along this trail with ilook4geo. There we found a variety of containers in different types of hides and we enjoyed finding each one. The logs were mostly small in size, so were signed with both lots of initials. Thanks go to pandsa for creating this series. The views we had were mostly of smoke but we enjoyed the drive anyway.
It was fun rambling along the roads and finding this series of caches with goingplaces2. Views were very smokey, but we enjoyed the day. Thanks for this cache and the whole trail.
Floating around while the others use their amazing skills to search for the cache - usually it's me snooping around for the find. Log signed and replaced and the scene evacuated TFTC
Found -- 6:45 pm -- Thanks for bringing us to this location and Thanks for the hunt *pandsa*.
**Cache Condition:** Good.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
**Trackables:** None seen in this cache today.
**The Cache**
A nice quick find. Signed the log with our caching names or some scrambled form of *TOC, DJJ, LP* or even attached a cache name sticker, and then returned cache to its hide'y hole exactly as found. Wouldn't mind doing the rest of this series, but it is very late and I need to get home. Just grabbed on passing.
**The Adventure**
A group of us wandered off into the rugged wilds from the safety of suburbia. *DustyJapserJet*, *AstheCrowFly*, *10011010*, *Bonfire7*, *Muppet95*, *Mr TOC* and *Little Panther* somewhere in the mix met up at *Mt Werong* where we camped overnight - a nice campground! We enjoyed the company of two wallabies with babies in pouch, that came extremely close to us.
Travel in was via Goulburn and then up *Jerrong Road*, a very pretty road to travel and in good condition. On the way we saw two kangaroos stuck head first in the fence - dead - poor things.
Next morning we cached into *Yerranderie*. The road was in pretty good condition a majority of the way and my 2WD faired well, although there were half a dozen rough sections. At *Yerranderie* I took time to reflect on those who have gone before and the lives that were lived here, a strange feeling difficult to explain overcame me. I love *Yerranderie*. My companions remained in the village overnight while *Mr TOC*, *DustyJapserJet* and I went back to *Mt Werong*. On the way we saw a *Cavalier King Charles Spaniel* dangling dead by one leg from a tree right near the road, recent it appears - who would/could do such a horrible thing.
Next morning we packed up and moved on, but I got side tracked by *The Road Less Travelled* series. Probably a poor choice chasing these down on dirt road - we popped a tyre. With the tyre changed I decide to high-tail it out to the main road. With 2.5km to go all was good and then !@#$%^!!!! - pop - another tyre gone, and no mobile reception. We had no choice but limp to the main road. Even then mobile reception was sketchy, but we eventually found some and contacted the NRMA for a towie. It's Sunday too! A very boring and wasted day spent in a hotel room. It was raining by lunch time. Monday arrived - tyres replaced and we're on our way - HOME!! Many caches collected and a midnight home coming straight to bed. We still had a terrific weekend considering the drama and even though it ate $300 out of our budget to go to the *St Arnauds* Mega.

Heading somewhere unknown but stopping for caches on our way. We walked around and looked around the trees hoping not to see any snakes None seen today *phew*! Thanks for the hide. ️️ OCW *Throsbyonchurch* with *Little Panther* in the mix. ️

Found tyftc. Spending a day driving this trail after 3 days of state tennis tourn. Mother nature is just beautiful. Trying to beat a local geo to 1500 finds before dec 31.
19,230. Found during a weekend caching meander with minniek and GLISS!, and an awesome time was had.
Our first aim was to do the Coxs River Road series, and we finally hit the trail at about 11:00. This was the first one, and it was quickly found once at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then we headed off to the next one.
Thanks pandsa !!

This morning we decided to head down Coxs River Road and look for some of the caches as we made our way to Oberon. It was bitterly cold and windy but at least it wasn't raining.
Our GPS pointed about half way between two possible hide locations. Of course, we checked the wrong one first (as have many given the geotrail) before locating the cache at the second option. It was 11m from the published coordinates. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks pandsa for the cache and the series.

After spending yesterday creating through Tuglow cave, today was the slow and weary trip back home. With sore muscles and bruises, climbing out and back in the car several times to find a trail of caches was exhausting. But at least it was another 6 degrees warmer outside than it was on Friday when i started this trail.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Out for a few caches which have gone down since we were here last. Took nothing left nothing, Cache all good, good coordinates. 24 for the day. TFTC
On way back to Sydney today near the end of our current geocaching holiday in Australia we couldn't resist diverting off the main highway to undertake this trail of caches. We are so glad we did as we found ourselves on a very scenically beautiful drive on a road less travelled. This one was a nice quick find once at Ground Zero. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
Gave myself the late morning and the rest of the afternoon to tackle this series. I had a couple of DNFs, one probably cache blindness and the other two for other reasons. Thanx for the series
A nice bit of history to go with this cache find
Seems the next chapter is being written now.
Designer houses are popping up like mushrooms on the hill tops and in the valleys !! [:o]
Ruining the views
The only livestock grazing their properties are alpacas and horses.
Nobody eats them in Oz !!

On my way to stay with family at White Rock I took a slight diversion to visit the Coxs Road caches. There was some lovely views, beautiful Aussie bush and fun caches. Most caches were found fairly quickly, thanks to the generous hints, others took a little longer and required reading previous logs which I found most helpful. Please excuse the generic logs and thanks for placing and maintaining this trail pandsa.

Sorry about the generic logs for this series, but I didn't log these soon after we did them & I've now lost my notes for each cache.
It was a lovely Sunday, perfect for a drive in the country. We spent the morning driving along the route and enjoyed our day. All caches found with no problem.
Thanks for placing this series.

#4882- Out caching early with thomo31. Almost half way through and two hours in we are making steady progress and thinking we'll probably do the whole trail this morning. Thanks
GPS can be a bit funny sometimes, when I stopped, it said 2mtrs, then, seconds later, it said 21mtrs, which was correct, wife went and did this one easy.
Returning for a second day. This time my son was driving as he remembered his glasses!?!
A quick one to start with.

Thanks for placing this interesting series of caches pandsa. I enjoyed reading the brief history of the Parishes of Hartley, Kanimbla and Ganbenang especially the connection with the Zig Zag Track where I had recently logged two other caches on the escarpment. Loved the rolling hills, green pastures, winding country roads and, of course, the fantastic views. Undertook the searches jointly with Forereach (and Mrs Forereach) and we came across hardly any traffic or muggles during the day. What a great day out. Please excuse the generic posts - its hard to be creative for each cache in such a large series!!
We spent a great day with my brother (Dogwood53) caching in the Kanimbla Valley, overcast sure, but the rain fortunately held off. Returned to finish off the rest of Pandsa’s “Coxs River Road Ramble” series and enjoy the stunning views across the valley. Pardon the generic post. TFTC
