Yet another clever hide we stumbled upon today while grabbing a few smilies with Happy Feet. Had the area to ourselves this afternoon and we wandered around the peaceful grounds and picked up this sneaky hide. Many thanks shack1961 for the hide and for the reason behind this hide. Fave point added!

19-Aug-24
Found before breakfast on the cache crawl, but glad I had help by someone with long arms. How sneaky a hide. Thanks.

A second attempt for jaamc_3335 but quickly came up with the cache in hand with our new friend alfetola! TFTC ??

18-Aug-24
What a great cache! This is my second visit because I was too short the first time! But Alfetola was way tall enough you help! A favorite point for your sneakiness! TFTC

18-Aug-24
That was tricky and a little nasty, not sure I would have made the find without my crenies turning up to help - guess if better say thanks team. Tftc.

18-Aug-24
It was a team effort. Lankiness was handy. TFTC

*18 Aug 2024, Found @8:45AM, Find # 3874.*We came out to do this one last night. We were a little confused by one part so decided to go away and think about it. With a bit of extra info shared we were back in the morning and with the right tool we soon had the log book in hand. **Thanks to shack1961 for placing this cache.**

18-Aug-24
Oh so sneaky! Thank you shack1961 for placing and maintaining Terry Tribute for us to find today.

18-Aug-24
Popped down to the cemertry after attending the first cache crawl event for the day with Skylizard. We went to get an ad lab location but upon seeing this trad on the map went in search of it. Had some initial success but no there was more. Joined with some other caches who arrived to seek what was needed. A very clever and creative cache. TFTC A favourite from me.

18-Aug-24
Definitely a favourite point for that one. Such a wonderful clever hide and LouJean70 and I love a cemetery

18-Aug-24
Well, we found it, but also didn't actually *find* it last night. We chatted to some previous finders at the event dinner last night and then deciphered the extra hint this morning which confirmed the intel we were given. This morning, we were back again with a TOTT to make searching a bit easier. You beauty - we found the logbook!

18-Aug-24
Out and about with TanSaf as part of The Victorian Cache Crawl. It was a beautiful day for caching and we found our way to the cemetery to finish an adventure lab and discovered this trad.Id like to say this was another quick find, but it certainly wasnt! We sighted the cache but couldnt reache it..back to the car for TOTT before we were joined by Loujean70 and ASK84 who added a bit of height to the search. We made our way through the requirements with lots of laughter.. Thanks shack1961 for placing the cache a favourite point given. .. would give more if I could

Found by The Empire + HExploring Echuca and Moama on a wet winter's day was a journey filled with historical charm and serene beauty. In Echuca, the cobblestone streets and well-preserved 19th-century buildings took on a new allure under the gentle drizzle. The rain heightened the nostalgic atmosphere of this historic port town nestled along the banks of the Murray River - it just made it a little hard to find a heap of tricky geocaches! Taking a walk through the cemetery was a solemn yet intriguing experience, offering a glimpse into history and the lives that shaped it. The quiet pathways lined with weathered headstones told stories of generations past, each marker a testament to lives lived and remembered. A tricky one that we needed some help with! Favourite point added. Thanks for the cache shack1961.-M

19-May-24
Found it. Oh wow....so fun. Lucky I brought my height enhanced husband. Favourite point from us. Tftc.

09-May-24
During our mini-break in Echuca, we decided to explore some geocaches in the area, adding a thrilling dimension to our trip. we had an idea of what to expect, but this one presented a unique challenge . Overall, it was a great cache find, and we appreciated the adventure it offered. Thank you for the experience! But we could not get the log so we will be back again soon to crack this one

05-May-24
Out and about with omegaman and ski pair around the Bendigo and Echuca area, there are always plenty of laughs while we are turning caches into smiles. This is one of the caches found today.Logs signed as RASPOMThanks shack1961 for the cache.

05-May-24
I'm hitting the road again with my Rebel Acts and Ski Pair to have some fun and explore new places. While I don't mind caching locally, there is nothing like a road trip for a few days putting smiles on the map. I had a great time with lots of laughter and caching fun. Today's logs are signed as RASPOM.

05-May-24
We have set off on our annual winter escape but with no real plans other than a set of ideas. Our first stop is Bendigo, a place we haven't visited for any length of time in the past. There appears to be much to see and a good variety of caches to keep us entertained. We met up with our caching buddies Rebel Acts and Omegaman for a few days as well which added to the laughs and fun.Caches logged as RASPOM or SKI Pair if they had already found them. This is one of the caches we have found to date.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache shack1961.**SKI Pair****

I should imagine Terry got a real kick out of our efforts here! Well I hope he did as we were getting very frustrated with this hide.Note to self - read the blo*#y instructions more carefully!I wanted to give up but Mr Beetle decided that seeing as we had spent so much time here we needed to see it through to the finish. We had a big day of geocaching planned today before leaving to head south this afternoon. A very early start and here it was at 11.30 and this was only our third find. But at least we did find it [in the end] .Spent a lot of time sitting on the grass paying our respects to Terry here and going round and round in circles until at last the penny dropped. Thanks shack1961 for a hide that I can only describe as devious.

14-Apr-24
Too many muggles today and I am just too short to successfully get this down to write in the log! Thanks for bringing me here

06-Apr-24
Well played in honour of your father. Very clever.

28-Jan-24
This is not a multi...it's not a mystery.. but it was very nicely executed. My mission to find this cache started yesterday. I swiftly found the extra information and went off to pay my respects to the departed. Your dad from above must be chuffed with all these visitors. Note vase was broken but extra information was found. I sat in the lawn to try to decipher things...but nothing computed....I PAF then left....I was having another look at my notes later that night, and the penny dropped, doh..So I returned this morning early to finish what I had started. At least the cockatoo were not dropping things on my head this morning, like they were yesterday.. hmm, maybe they were trying to knock some sense into me yesterday. Very clever deceiving cache. Fav point for uniqueness.

Suscoe was having an around Echuca caching morning today.Another delightful day was emerging. We found a good range of caches that took us to interesting places. Thanks to lokkisomerville and shack1961 for this clever cache.A nicely put together cache.

Nice cache and fun to find with a friend, though neither of us were tall enough. It was a team effort! The log is full, wrote on the back of it and left a little message about the puzzle. Great way to remember a loved one Smile

16-Sep-23
Not a trad.
Definitely a multi
Definitely a puzzle.
Didnt understand the message in the jar.

16-Sep-23
Failed to decipher the clue, but found the right tools and managed to extra t the cache for signing. Well hidden!

In Echuca for a few days with family geocachers, after paying our respects to Terry it left the group a little puzzled, he would have been having a chuckle at the groups attempts at solving the clue, but all was not lost as I saved the day with the solve TFTC and a fav point for the fun.

We are heading up to the Shepparton Marathon and taking the long way via Echuca. The plan is to get 20 geocaches in the Campaspe and Moira LGAs and at least 1 cache in whatever NSW LGA Moama is in. Not sure it will happen with our tight schedule, but will see how it goes.

Trying to get a few more geocaches before we have to leave Echuca. Looks like we might have got 18 in this LGA, plus the 2 previous in the area, means 20.

Huntress spotted the decoy very quickly and while we considered the note within, I spotted this well hidden geocache. Well done.

Thanks for the cache Shack 1961

Third go in 2 days. Very cryptic. Sure Terry keeps having a chuckle as all the complexed thoughts.

19-Aug-23
Didn't find.

19-Aug-23
Found the first part that put us on our tipping toes but with coords in container couldn't find Terry with his impressive mo so no vase. In Echuca for a couple more days so will go back. Cryptic clues always befuddle us. Tyft trying to find cache.

06-Aug-23
We said hello to Terry yesterday but had to come back today after we figured the rest of the clue. Thanks for a great puzzle

11-Jul-23
Was a good find on our day out having a look to see how many we can do tftc

27-Jun-23
Found with LittleBoss2 on our day in and around Echuca. Great cache and theme. Cheers Terry

Had another great day here in Echuca.

June 10, 2023 4:56 PM

Back almost 12 months to the day today to have another attempt at this one. Headed back to the point where I got stuck last year and tried a couple of ways to work out where the cache was hidden, but my calculated coordinates were obviously wrong when I looked on the map. Mrs P even got out of the geomobile to try to help and offered a suggestion or two but then something in the clue lit the light bulb in the dark recesses of my brain and off I went to try one last thing. Bingo!... cache found at last!
That was very, very clever, I haven't come across one like that before and gets a FP from me. Thx for the great hide.

27-Apr-23
Found with surefoot24.
I do love a clever HIPS geocache, and this one did not disappoint.
We did visit Terry to pay our respects before stamping the log.
Thanks for the trad with a difference.

27-Apr-23
I met N0w0rries near GZ and we followed instructions to traipse around in drizzle to collect all the clues to find the cache. In the end we’d found it earlier, but it apparently wasn’t in the situation the CO expected it to be. We signed the log and replaced as best we could. I’m glad N0w0rries is a bit taller than I, so I didn’t have to call The Walking Ladder from the car.

26-Apr-23
Geoturtle37 and I are on our way home from a long weekend away in the Swan Hill area. As is usual with us, we are taking the scenic route home. As The Drovers was heading in the same direction, we travelled as far as Echuca together.
With the three of us, this didn't take too long. Thanks for placing the cache for us to find.

26-Apr-23
We thought that this might take longer than it did which was great as the weather looks like it might be changing soon. Thanks for placing the cache for us to enjoy.

26-Apr-23
Heading home in the company of Geoturtle37 & Papi4506 after a trip to Swan Hill.

Unless otherwise stated - all good here.
All caches signed as 'DGP' or 'The Drovers'. Replaced as found.
Many thanks for placing this cache, shack1961, and us and others to find.

Day 20 of our loop through Vic and SA then home.

After a night in Echuca, it was time for fitzy_1965 and to finally make it home…..caching along the way.

All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

31,824. Found with minniek as we were heading home from our epic trip.

Rutherglen Mega and South Australia Trip Day 20 - Final Day. Today we had to head home ( for real this time), so after the luxury of a cabin last night (up until then it was 18 nights straight in the back of the Kia) we were up early, did some caching around Echuca, cherry-picked a few more until we (ironically) hit Rutherglen again, then it was straight up the Hume to home. This was the next find of the day, and once the clues were gathered, we put two and two together and came up with the cunning hide. Signed, replaced, and then we headed off to the next one on the list.

Thanks lokkisomerville and shack1961 !! Favourite Point !

25-Apr-23

Very clever. Vase was broken so was careful not to get glassed

27-Feb-23
Found with gridge98 on a roadtrip to Sydney!
Thanks for the cache

27-Feb-23
This was an interesting cache, we worked out the first park then back, the anagram got us and lead us up the wrong garden path, 2 we’d can be obtained. Finally the hide was found. What a tricky cache

Day 2 of our trip from Adelaide to Sydney, Courtneyrose_ and I headed from Mildura to Echuca making our way along the Murray river with an event in swan hill and then checking out Echuca for the afternoon/evening.

Thanks for the cache

22-Jan-23
On my first visit, I even struggled to find this cache's first part. Today, there were no issues at all. The cache was unusually easy to retrieve, and I soon had the log in hand, although I may not have completed it as intended. I visited Terry and saw he had a killer mo that would not be out of place in today's style.

Terry's vase may need replacing as the bottom is broken, and some ants are busy making a nest inside it. All is good with the cache, and I ensured it was returned as intended.

Up just over the border for Christmas Dinner Round 2, and the new bridge has been opened since the last visit... so how could I not check it out on foot?

As it was expected to be a rather hot day, I got it the door fairly early. By 9 o'clock, when I stood here, it was already 28 degrees.

I saw a clever, cheeky thing and laughed when I read what was in there... and was about to make a pilgrimage to pay my respects and turn a traditional cache into a multi, when I thought to myself, "You fool," and found the log.

Thanks, lokkisomerville (and shack1961). I'd guess Terry would be chuckling every time one of us silly buggers make a visit.

Enabling now that the flood waters have receded…I’ll get up home as soon as I can after the New Year and do some minor repairs

10-Nov-22
Disabling Terrys geocache right now as it is inaccessible because of the flood water at home at Echuca. Hopefully to be able to access it again soon

09-Oct-22
Saw the cache initially, but didn’t realise it was it.
Thanks for the challenge

11-Sep-22
A magpie really didn't want me there so didn't get much time to look will have to come back another time.

26-Aug-22
Nice puzzle, we got there eventually. TfTC

Found with SJG66 as we wind our way home from holidays. Your right, its not a multi or a puzzle. TFTC

18-Jul-22
Lucky i'm not vertically challenged ha ha Big Grin the cache was quickly in hand.
A cool idea for a cache, tricky one. The previous logs proved it was the actual cache Big Grin

I was signing the log at 12:24 on Monday 18 July 2022.
The log within is dry.

Re-hid exactly as found with no Muggles in sight Wink

Found by Mary and David at at 17:15. Some confusion. Paid our respects to Terry, then reread the description and all became clear. A sneaky hide. We'd previously visited Henry Hopwood while completing his Ad Lab. M just loves cemeteries for their carved symbolism and the social history spelled out in the various epitaphs. Could have left her here for hours. Definitely a FP. Our thanks to shack1961.

01-Jul-22
Wonderful cache idea. Had us befuddled initially. Thanks for bringing us here.

25-Jun-22
As a local funeral director I have been to this cemetery many times and I have even unsuccessfully searched for this cache on a couple of occasions too. Today after completing the Echuca-Moama Parkrun I decided to grab a few caches before heading back to Shepparton. I had my suspicions with this one and they were proved correct today as I located the elusive log quickly. Sometimes it takes a while for this brain to register exactly what is going on and thankfully today was that day. A very cleverly thought out cache and an excellent double hide. TFTC

12-Jun-22
Reached Terry's plaque, followed the clue to get the letters and didn't get any further than that.

This couch had a stumped for a little while but we thought we go and pay a visit to the grave dropped off some flowers Then it came to mind

02-Jun-22
We have two types of cachers in our team...
One was super frustrated by this cache and the other just really needed to read and then head off.

The unfrustrated one set about getting the log while the other said a few choice words.

We love puzzles, love cemetaries and hate multis so this was right up our caching alley.

Thanks for the tribute to a fellow puzzler

14-May-22
This has to be one of the weirdest caches we have found, we wandered around GZ for ages trying to find Terry before it was spotted, anyone having duck's disease would never reach it!!.

TFTC

15-Apr-22
A nice quick find at 1130 on an Easter break in Echuca with SirJ-Oz & family and Muggle-L. The cache was easy to locate, the log was more of a surprise but we quickly had it in hand.

Thanks for the cache lokkisomerville & shack1961.

15-Apr-22
Found by AmethystPig and Sir-JOz on annual Easter holiday, they found while I visited some of the other residents. TFTC

15-Apr-22
Find #5127. Found @ 11:35 with AmethystPig, Muggle-L and j-bean.

In Echuca for an Easter getaway with family and friends and the cemetery is the closest caching location to where we are staying, so it makes sense to tackle them first.

AmethystPig found this one rather quickly before we headed off to visit the namesake's location.

Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache lokkisomerville (adopted by shack1961).

31-Mar-22
A lovely day for a ride around Echuca doing a couple of AdLabs, and few odd caches.

We made this a lot harder than it needed to be, but got there eventually.
Terry would have been amused!
Thanks, Robmc.

31-Mar-22
#18251. Gale force winds again today. I am not used to this kind of weather. We loaded the doggies into their bike trailer and spend the day riding around town - doing a couple of Ad Labs and a very few other caches. Off home to Beechworth tomorrow so only a very quick trip this time.

My patience was wearing thin with this one. We collected what we needed and took a seat to try to work out some coordinates. Proceeded to make it much more complicated than we needed to, but eventually sorted things out. A very nice sneaky hide but the proper log sheet was full and we stamped on a green sheet that someone had left there as well. Might need to be reduced to one sheet. Now off to visit Henry.

Thanks shack1961

30-Mar-22
Found with a lot of assistance from Locus cache.
…. Would never have have known where to start otherwise!
TFTC… what else can say!!!

30-Mar-22
Ha haa, that was a fun one, it had me going for a while. Thanks for the fun

30-Mar-22
Hmmm, I’m not too sure about this one. Geocachpro and I spent some time searching for the headstone at the coordinates but could not find the right person/vase. Met up with Riddell and Locus cache (and Rex!) and Locus cache gave us a lot of help. Just look for the cache at the coords is my tip, forget the vase red herring.

04-Mar-22
I love this cache. Firstly it really made me think about Terry and his kids, and how it went too soon. Being short of stature I needed one of the cemetery buckets for my first attempt. Daylight was fading so I decided to come back today. Having sorted most of the puzzles and tricks I realised my height was again going to be an issue - so I brought my friend Phil to be my arms. He stands at 6'5" and looked like he wasn't even stretching! The final part of the cache was trickier than I had thought but at last we struck gold! Thanks for sharing your Dad with me lokkisomerville and shack1961 for looking after the cache, it's worth it and a favourite from me.

27-Jan-22
It’s MEGA Road Trip time!! A plan is hatched and we are good to go.
DAY FOURTEEN: Still camped at Koondrook, ducking out for a few caches & AdLabs before the weather heats up.

Came to explore the cemetery and find a grave or two for other caches. Stopped by to find this rather tricky trad. Clever!

Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, shack1961

27-Jan-22
Day #14 of the MEGA road trip. What was supposed to be a quick trip to Echuca turned out to be a longer trip as usual as we gathered a few caches and an ice cream!

We stopped in here as we were completing the adventure lab nearby. We found the cache, or so we thought. Fortunately we found the actual cache soon after. Tricky.

Thanks shack1961 for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

24-Jan-22

Numurkah to Echuca camping at the Rotary grounds alongside of the Campaspe River. A great spot only a couple of caravans here.
Today we headed back into NSW attended the markets & just a coupl eof caches.
This afternoon we followed TTT trail along the back roads.
Such a peaceful location we decided to stay another day & just cache around the local area.

We followed all the instructions, starting here, going there & then pack to the start.
Eventually we spotted the hint & bingo there was the nicely concealed cache.

Thankyou shack1961 for placing this cache.

17-Jan-22

Lovely.

I did not see any dead people. Love the extra fun included.

A mega jaunt with endeavour3 saw us caching this cache and writing in the log, then we moved on. A lovely place to explore.

Thanks to shack1961 and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]

Watawieh from Norfolk Island South Pacific.

I have teamed up with TeamAstro to attend the Wangaratta mega. We are doing some caching on a road trip returning to Adelaide from Wangaratta.

We overnighted in Echuca so we could find some caches around the town. The decoy was easily found, finding the log was a little tricky but we got there. TFTC

Nasty puzzle, trad, multi.

e.Gregory1 and Freddo decided to travel to Wangaratta for Geocaching Victoria’s first 2022 Mega event. The attraction of GeoMaze icon was just too tempting. We packed the Land Cruiser for a bubble environment. There would be some public exposure but we would be keeping it minimal. Fortunately we did not bother with any warm clothes. Fortunately we packed some Bushmans with +20% DEET. There were caches to find and we found caches. We saw a lot of interesting places and met the occasional geocacher or two in the field.

I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.

This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

13-Jan-22
Found as I made my way from Adelaide to the Mega event at Wangaratta with Freddo.

We meandered our way across northern Victoria, camping along the river and generally avoiding contact with other people as far as possible to minimise covid risks. We targeted some specific caches of interest, but also took the opportunity to find other caches opportunistically as we were passing.

Thanks shack1961 for the cache.

13-Jan-22
Brilliant- and after not being smart enough curiosity had me check with the very kind CO who pushed me in the right direction as I really wanted to get why so many people love it! Just as well i rode out on the MTB as on account of my ‘stature’ this called for a balancing act. that no doubt would amuse Terry as well. TFTC and the fun! A fave for a clever tribute!

11-Dec-21
Think we found and solved the first couple of parts and even found something fitting what we think is the clue. Any help appreciated. Thanks Smile
