An impromptu Sunday stroll to this beautiful, popular track. Picked up a few caches on the way, but made sure to leave some for the next trip. Love the open viewing/resting platform here. TFTC!
The walk between Booroomba and Honeysuckle is a lovely one; and I found the cache as a bonus thank you
Great Rocky outcrop here . Nice and windy as well .Found with good co ords at 5.02 pm .Photo attached .Many thanks to Tankengine .Fav tick for the view and hide plus unique location.
Cool mossy mound - lots of bird life even with the fire impacts observed everywhere. Lovely. TFTC Tankengine!
We hadn’t visited this area since before the fires- was crazy that we could see so clearly to the other side of the ridge!
Decided to give Booroomba a go today. I've been here caching many times with different cachers, however this is my first since becoming SocialClimber. TFTC
The track here has definitely had some upgrades since I was last here! Which is good, because even then it was pretty boggy! Had no trouble finding these caches. TFTC.
I had a couple of hours free thismorning so took myself off to Booroomba Rocks. I haven't been here since the new bridge opened - very swish, certainly beats the walk in we did last time along the road!
From the carpark, quickly along the track which is quite boggy in parts before arriving at GZ. A short search later and the cache was located in a likely spot right on the coordinates. I remember this slab from pre-fires, it's still so sad to see the bush so devastated. Thanks, Tankengine.

Today was supposed to be a walk at Denman Prospect Ranger Range, but as more and more people dropped out, the remaining four decided on a trip to Namadgi. I am just going to do the walk next week anyway. Today Cosmonaut97 joined Fitzy_1965 and MinnieK to get what we could down south.
After not going on the longish walk up to the rocks a few weeks ago,m we came to visit the new and old caches along the access road and alpine track. All went smoothly, after waiting for a gap in traffic at the car park. Here the sheets of rock were most impressive.
Thanks for the cache Tankengine

25,371. Found with minniek, albida33 and cosmonaut97 during a caching adventure down in Namadgi prior to the secret santa event today.
With a Plan A walk in Canberra postponed, we quickly came up with a Plan B trip down into Namadgi. minniek and I missed the last trip up here a few weeks ago due to the weather, but today was fine and the gate was open. So up we went and, once at the car park, grabbed that cache. Then back down we went and found a convenient parking spot to head up to the walking path for a couple of caches. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then we headed off to the next one on our list.
Thanks Tankengine !!

Today cosmonaut97 joined albida33, fitzy_1965 and I for a jaunt around Namadgi.
We thought we would try our luck and see if some roads were now open after the recent rains. After a fairly successful day we returned to Canberra in time for the Annual Christmas Secret Santa event. fitzy and I then drove home and collapsed on the lounge after another full weekend.
All our finds today were made fairly quickly and easily unless otherwise stated.

One of the finds on our return from the Booroomba Rocks hike. We checked in all potential hiding places, before it was spotted in plain sight. Thanks TE for the cache!
**This Cache**
*Signed "BCC WALK" (Booroomba Community Celebration Walk) which included:
Loci612, DARKSIDEDAN, 2 Leg Drive, TikvaNZ, Aykayem, injuryman, Turtle284 and Dwarf Exploder*
We walked back to the cars via this track before cutting across to the road when the distance between the two was only about 100m or so!
We had 8 people searching for this cache for about 5 minutes without luck. Then 2 Leg Drive said "OMG, it's literally right there staring us in the face??"
A VERY unexpected hiding spot given the formations at GZ, none of us even considered it to be hidden like that so we were completely blind to it!

**Today**
I have been looking forward to the "Booroomba Walk" Community Celebration event for a long time now! One of the best ideas for a CC event in my opinion, great to bring people out to a beautiful part of Namadgi and organise a group walk! Brought back memories of a Cankid event which was also fantastic!
It was an excellent day too, majority of the walk was sunny and clear, but when we reached the top it turned sour and the wind was horrendous and we even saw some light snow, which was unexpected at this time of year! As we retreated back down the mountain again it cleared up once more with blue skies again...! The weather couldn't make up it's mind!
An excellent day overall with a lovely walk and some great views. So many views that were previously obstructed have now been opened up by the recent fires, as have some of the walks to the caches. The undergrowth is still very low and easy to navigate around!
Thanks to 2LD for organising, and all the cache owners from today's finds!

Searching all over the place. Thank goodness the host of our walk finally spotted it. TFTC
Found on our return journey from the rocks during the community celebration event.
All of use were looking around under every available rock. but then the cry went out. Its hanging from the shrub. Hahaha cache blindness again.

Found on the way back from Booroomba Rocks, if it wasn't for the rain and snow this would be a great place to sunbake. Took a while to find as a former finder insisted it was in a crack. Cache eventually found in good condition. Thanks Tankengine
With the road closed, I walked from the Apollo road junction, then cut cross country to the walking track.. Checked a few of the rocks for TE style hides, but then spotted a more traditional cache position. Cache looked OK on the outside and the O-ring was good, but when I touched the log it shattered. Looks like the heat from the fire made it very brittle.
Rolled up some stone-paper I had with me, and put in the container with the old remnants, so all good now.
Thanks,

I have been across these rocks many times recently, caching and bushwalking. But the first time, was with TankEngine doing this cache, [GCNPT3 - 6 Star - A walk in the Park](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCNPT3_6-star-a-walk-in-the-park?guid=3ec6c7b6-bb6a-4f62-9909-c71b86c8376b) by none other than one of the early ACT cachers, Panic!. TankEngine and I were the only finders of that epic cache. That cache had a WayPoint on this boulder!
So, after I replaced my cache container up on Deadman's hill, I popped in here for a quick find of this cache. Thanks TE.

Found today while on a walk with some of my students. Great day to be out in Nanadgi.

A short half day walk introducing people to Namadgi bush and this was on the list. A lovely stroll along the AAWT and an easy find at GZ. Great spot. TFTC
Robyn led today’s Canberra Bushwalking Club walk which provided the opportunity to find geocaches. The weather was cloudy but the walking conditions were pleasant. We followed the AAWT towards Booroomba Rocks to nab the Exploring History and Booroomba Bedrock caches, then retraced our steps. A fruitless effort to unlock the Torrevieja cache, then up to Gorilla Rock. A walk of about 9km in four hours. This cache was a straightforward find, in an obvious spot close to the coordinates. Thank you to Tankengine for installing and maintaining this cache.
Out for a morning's caching with JBACT. Honeysuckle was our first point to start at. We parked on the dirt road with a 100 metre bush bash before coming to the correct spot. TFTC.
Closing in on my goal to log all the trads in NNP, Marmaduke Rothschild and I headed out to Honeysuckle Creek and the road to Booroomba Rocks this morning to clear out the new ones in this area. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache TE. Always first class hardware.
The temperature along the FP was quite chilling so it was nice when we broke out onto this impressive bit of Granite!
Cache was found after a short search, coordinates were drifting slightly, but were still with tolerance.
Lovely location, almost coast like with the rock pools after the recent rains.

A beautiful crisp sunny afternoon on the Australian Alphine Walking Track taking lots of photos and strolling some 10km over 3.5 hours. The Baroomba Rocks carpark was full today as people seemed to be heading on the trail straight up to the lookup as we passed through along the walking track on either side instead. The walk between 'Torrevieja' and 'Six Stars' was relatively easy and very pretty. The overnight rain assisted to highlight many of the beautiful bush colours particularly the fallen gum tree bark.
This was the first cache of the day. With our GPS' all out 4-5m from GZ it took longer to find than it should have otherwise. That's despite the cache being in 'PLAIN SIGHT'. I think that we were lucky to find it at all today but we are a persistent group as we don't like walking the same track more than once as there are sooo... many other tracks calling. The rock bed is definitely impressive. TFTC Tankengine.

Making my way slowly back to Canberra after a FTF at Horse Gully Hut. I parked at the closest point and cut across to the trail , and then was soon at GZ. So many hiding spots here that it took a few minutes to locate the cache hiding in plain sight. TFTC.

Tankengine had a plan for a few caches he wanted to put out and when he asked if I wanted to join in the fun of course I was going to jump at the chance.
We parked at the parking spot near by then made the short walk to here. We were a little surprised to find a group of popel in khaki under a tent on the bedrock itself. Not sure exactly what they were doing, but we felt like it was a class type senario??
We walked by them, politely said hello and went to the other side and out of sight. After a little searching we found a spot to place the cache. A quick deploy and we were off back towards the car.
Thanks of the fun Tankengine!!!

*FTF* 7.00am with GreyHams and Darksidedan.
GreyHams mentioned that he was still to find a new cache for this month, and would I like to head out to the new ones out here as well? Well, sure I would! It was to be an early start though and I had a deadline to be at work by but it should still be plenty of time to make the trip out and get back in time.
The last bit of the drive and the number of Kangaroos and wallabies on and by the roadside had me thinking that no car had been through lately, was a slow trip in and glad of the daylight by now. A few wombats earlier, some stayed roadside and of course there is always that one that makes the slow wander across the road to make you stop, I'm sure they wait and do it on purpose!
Having met up with Dan at the last cache we made our way to this one together. Parked at the shortest distance from the cache and made the easy bush walk in from the road. Didn't take long to come across the track and followed it along to the slab. No one camping today, and the cache was soon found.
Thanks for the cache Tankengine, with one more new cache yet to be found we continued on together to it. A nice morning to be out and so much better to be out in the area than a day at work anyday! Reality always there though and with a deadline to stick to, we spent a bit of the available morning caching around some of the other yet to be found caches before parting ways with DSD and making the drive back and into work, perfectly timed and arriving right on time!

After the other easier ones around the road DSD, Aquilus1 and myself headed up for this one.
We cut in from the nearest bit of road, over flat terrain until we hit the path and down to the large slabs of the bedrock. DSD managed to do some small damage by tripping over a small remnant of a barb wire fence, it was very well concealed, watch out for it!
DSD spotted the container and its fresh clean log within... another *FTF*

Woohoo…! [FTF] at about 0700. I saw this cache pop into my email yesterday and was surprised that no one went straight out to collect them. I hatched a plan to snag the FTF. Getting up at 0400 I jumped in the car and drove all the way from Amaroo to Honeysuckle Creek. Arrived at about 0500. I went to two other FTF's first and wasted time spending about 60 min looking for both in the dark. Lisa and Graham walked up about this time. We all went together to get this cache. I made the find this time and I signed the virgin logbook Darksidedan. Thanks for the adventure and the cache.
This hadn't been logged when we set off this morning - oh well, still a nice escape. Sol and myself parked nearby and traversed the light bush to make the quick find.
Last one for the day with AB and after parking within 200 metres, we took the straight line approach and soon arrived at the expansive bedrock. Great little area to check out and no doubt visual on google maps.
Cache was found after a minute or so and our names were soon in the logbook. From there it was back to the car and home.
Thanks TE.....a neat little place to check out.
