In the area this afternoon for Mrs and junior to partake in a virtual 10km run around the point.....my job was to collect a few of the local caches ...this appears to have quite a few DNF's and had a good look around but no luck here....

Razz

No joy today Sad

27-Nov-21
A while ago a plan was hatched by Team SEAC members to have a group caching session around this area. A group of 19 of us biked and 2 walked a different route. We all meet up for lunch and a surprise birthday get together for one of the members. Mr HeMaLuDy is always a little sad when coming to this area as he remembers how it used to be when he spent some time here while in the RNZAF. Signed Team SEAC to save space. This was the fifth cache of the day to be attempted however we had no luck. Many eyes searched in many locations to no avail.

27-Nov-21
Team SEAC organised and bike ride outing and decided to tag along. The day was good for it, with full blast of the sun.

no luck here. Spent a lot of time looking but didn't see anything

27-Nov-21
Not sure if the number of bodies looking worked against us here, but nothing checked out. Will have to come back.

26-Nov-21

07-Nov-21
Had a look but the phone and the GPS couldn't agree on the location. Will have to come back another time.

Not a bad day!

Thanks to all the COs for their placements!

Nice spot to sit and...apply sun scream! Getting hot!

Nice quick and easy find from the HP family. GeohoundandI spotted it before I had chance to get the pen out ready, and then spent 5 minutes examining the wildlife camo attachment before she realised it actually was a real snail.

19-Sep-20
With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Since Gap had jobs scattered around Auckland, we decided to base ourselves out West. With two Adventure Labs in Hobsonville, it made sense to hang out there for the day... All finds signed as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa).

Despite a patch of unsettled weather, we decided to relocate one of the vehicles while the rest of us walked around to the next Ad Lab waypoint. This allowed us to visit a few traditional caches en route... Not many hint objects to consider. We told (Mrs) ABCDF4 to have a look under - not realising that we’d spotted the actual hide. Of course it was... Thanks G-2 and TFTC.

Was up in Ak for the day with ABCDF4, Fap & Gap, and Squirrel Nutcase to tidy a few caches in Hobsonville. Logged in under Tm HRP, to conserve the logs. Thanks to all the Co s for the placements, good day had by all. Neat caches.

19-Sep-20
No real plans for today but over dinner and a couple of drinks last night Hobsonville was the choice. All caches signed Team HRP (Huntly,Rotorua,Papamoa). Great day in a new area. Couple of caches missed but that happens. Will be back another day to complete area.
Thanks to all cache owners for placements. SLTFTC

19-Sep-20
This one had me early on and even the hint made no sense. I shoved my hand into some very dark places where I thought GZ should be, based on the GPS, but not a lot was revealed. TFTC and the cool spot.

06-Sep-20
Going geocaching for the first time since Auckland lockdown and I'm a bit rusty. So rusty I forgot a pen. I'll come back another time and sign the log.

05-Sep-20
Out today exploring Hobsonville Point, doing an adventure lab and grabbing a few munzees. This was my second physical cache for the day.

I found it right away and sat down nearby to sign the log, which was soaking wet, I dried it off a little on my trousers and let it dry in the sun a little, but it was still damp when I put it back. Thanks for the cache a clever hide. #1023

01-Jan-20
In the area to start the new year with the Hobsonville Point Parkrun and after some sustenance decided to head on back along the walkway to collect some caches. Found eventually & turns out I'd looked at it a few times and keep dismissing it! TFTC

21-Dec-19
......and indeed friendly it was today! We started with a long chat with a local dog walker and her one eyed dog. Once she had gone, we got down to business and zoned into 'G2' thinking. We first thought it may have been muggled after seeing some tape on the fence, but no, all still good here. Tftc!

15-Dec-19
Looked around the area for this with two others for half an hour and couldn’t spot anything. Will definitely come back to try this one again !

07-Dec-19
Found exactly where we thought it would be. Had to double take the camo as it nearly had us fooled. I'll put it down to the lack of caches found lately. Good to be out and about today and all good here, TFTC! Big Grin

04-Dec-19
Great camo here and replaced as found. mrs capperz called up at this point, so a pause in the finding frenzy. T F T C G-2

Another day, another set of cache finds. Gotta love the reliability of the hides and the quality too. Just a modest 9 caches this evening, but a real calm, warm evening. Perfect for a stroll around the area.

I'm up in Auckland for the week, with a couple of options for transport and with a healthy choice of 4 evenings plus one late-afternoon at my disposal for caching. Would be remiss of me not to take advantage of what some (km) would call a 'target rich environment'. And so my week was spent well, a count of 75 caches was found, a few DNFs and a plethora of G-2's special cache treats with awesome camo and attachments. Some nice evening weather made things easier, and I averaged a 10km walked each day = nice. Thanks to all COs for their caches, individual logs as/when remembered.

09-Nov-19
Found exactly as expected. So glad we could make the stretch did wonder when we first arrived.

I had plans to come up to Hibbidy-Hobby and get a final for one of Aiden29's mystery caches and thought this cache was also unfound. Initially it was pouring with rain as I arrived in the car, but it was a just a fleeting shower. Wandered across and found the cache in the first spot I looked at, love it when that happens, must be accustomed to G-2 hides I reckon. Then I trotted off to go get the other cache.

03-Aug-19
I needed a dozen more caches to open the vault for the Mystery at the Museum. After the rain this morning I decided to spend the day working on assignments. However, there was a break in the rain and the sun came out so I decided to risk it and pick up a few caches nearby before it started again.

I remember visiting this location for the previous cache that was here. Passed one runner just as I approached GZ. Swooped in and made a quick find before continuing on.

01-Aug-19
Out clearing the head today and what better way to do sothank you for the cache

20-Jul-19
Came over here early this morning to grab this third "Diamond" in the "Mystery at the Museum" challenge. Always love your work Glyn. Nice quick find with no muggles about. TFTC

07-Jul-19
As I approached GZ, I had a pretty good idea where it would be and then, checking the hint, I realised I was right. So this well-constructed cache was quickly in hand. Tftc

29-Jun-19
We had to wait out a few muggles but soon had the cache in hand when the coast was clear.
Great camo as always. Thanks G-2.

22-Jun-19
I joined up with yorkshirekiwi83 this morning to walk the Hobsonville Point Coastal Walkway and clear the caches in the area. An enjoyable walk with the added highlight of seeing a pod of dolphins a couple of times in the harbour. Another easy find here, TFTC!

22-Jun-19
Vistra and I caught up to take the 5km walk around the area this morning, another nice quick find this morning. TFTC

16-Jun-19
Smile Found ... Mrs McMike2012 decided that we needed to get out for a walk ... parked some distance away and enjoyed the sunshine while walking to GZ ... easily found, after avoiding a few 'muggles' ... heaps of them out & about today, on foot & on bikes ... cache completed & returned without incident ... forth cache for the day ... TN:LN:SL ... TFTC ... #1,670 for us.

As it was a long weekend and today being better weather than yesterday, work having been done around the house it was a chance to get out and find the odd cache in the company of 11HPG11.
Today we managed to find a grand total of 58 caches with only 9 DNF's along the way, and even managed to be home by 4,30pm so as not to annoy Mrs Dragon too much (although privately I believe that she may rather enjoy a day at home without an annoying husband being about the house).

Setting out from Hamilton nice and early meant that we managed to locate quite a few caches without any traffic to contend with, in fact Auckland is rather pleasant early in the day without both people and vehicles to contend with.
Working our way towards the end of the day it was just time to collect a last 10 or so'ish so so we thought to pop over here and see what we could collect. It always freaks me out being back here as I lived here for 2 years many years ago when there was less than 250 people in the entire sight, it used to be so tranquil but not now, just far too many people here for me to comprehend. So Strange. Parked nearby and a short walk in the sun and the cache was in hand. I can recall when these spots were still part of the working base.

Thank you to all the CO's for their hard work in making this day possible, in both the placing the caches and maintaining them. We both had a great day.he opportunity.

01-Jun-19
When Cats&Dragons suggested a day in Auckland collecting a few caches I was very keen. When I checked the weather forecast I wasn't quite as keen. Determined to stay dry I packed all my wet weather gears and my gumboots. Was happily surprised to not need any of this and we were treated to a stunning day of great weather and great caches. Logs were signed with either HOAC or a combination of our names.

C&D was onto this one and soon had the cache found. While hunting we got muggled but they only wanted to know the history of the area.

A lovely sunny saturday morning for a walk around Hobsonville Point. Amazing views from some points back over the very still water. No troubles here, Nice hide. SL. TFTC.

For my personal challenge of working towards getting my calendar on GC.COM to be at least the same shade of green or darker I need to sign off at least 6 caches today. I won't grumble if I find one or two moreWinkRazz I have now arrived in Auckland to visit my docs and family and sign off the necessary caches.

This one was quickly found by my not-so-short grand-daughter.

Cheers for the cache.

Out and about for a few hours enjoying a spot of cache detection on ANZAC day. Great Autumn weather for it too. This was another super quick as I put my hand straight on it. Which was just aswell, as this was another very busy section of track today. I had to wait for an opportune time to replace the hide between the flow of pedestrian traffic. I am glad I was able to find the previous challenge cache before they fenced it off as it took me some time to meet the qualifications for that one. Cheers for placing this new hide nearby!
