Accio 17:20:20A weekend away with T4mmmy and Suki the geo-wonder pup. After a day mostly in space (the final frontier) we were all a bit tired so a nice find here under trees was welcomed. Quickly spotted and retrieved. Thanks Brother Colin for entertaining me at this location. *{Overall find #12842}*
Found with Pprime` as part of our Toowoomba adventure.Thankyou for the entertainment here.
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 147 - Toowoomba to Logan via Ipswich. My day started with a late checkout, so I could do a few hours caching around Toowoomba before getting on the road. The drive down the range was fun, there are some people who seem to think faster is better. I had a short fuel and lunch break in Ipswich before doing the final part of the drive to th van park in Logan. The traffic as I come east has been a bit of a rude shock, I will have to acclimatise to busy again. After setting up and a bit of a break I decided I could do a County that needed visiting, so I headed further south to the Scenic Rim LGA for a few caches over a 3 hour drive. I caved in and bought dinner on the way home. I did my days logging in the evening and had quite a late night for me. Th GCLogan events start tomorrow.I had a look at this cache back in 2021 when I was pre-pole. oday with the right equipment, it took a little time to see, but then the cache came down for signing without any problems. I even managed to get it back up again. Thanks for the cache Brother Colin49163.2 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2010 Snowman A#188**Albida**
I was able to park at GZ and quickly spotted the cache, up with the pole and the cache was quickly in my hand, log signed and returned as found, log is getting pretty full, thanks for placing andTFTC
Bought ourselves a pole for Christmas And was able to make the find. Ended up with broken pole after returning the cache. Sigh. Tftc
found it...in the rain.log signed and replaced as found. Quite a job to put back up where I found it. TFTC
We haven't been fishing for a while.. Needed an extension on our pole to get this. Signed and replaced cache as found
Day 122 of our greynomad trip up north from Vic which started in June, and day 121 of a streak. With QOGM done and dusted for it's final year we are heading the caravan towards home, well sort off. Goal is to tick off LGA's, and having claimed the closest to Toowoomba yesterday, we are taking it easy around town.We pulled up on the wrong side on the way out, but planned to go fishing on the way back. Small tether made it harder, but we managed.TFTC TB's visited
I've been spending far too much time recently, perched in front of my computer while planning my geocaching activities for an upcoming overseas trip. I was therefore keen to have a day outside in the fresh air and Crookedpete willing participant to join me for the outing to Toowoomba.I was able to pull off a lengthy to-do list from my pre-sorted database and we gradually worked our way through our targets, including this one. After bright sunshine this morning, the skies had turned overcast by late afternoon and actually started to drizzle as we headed to GZ. Braving the drops of rain in the eye as we stared up looking for the cache, it was soon spotted and the fishing pole deployed. Cache successfully retrieved and our names were added to the logbook. TFTC
Today, Seffnjarah and I decided on a road trip to Toowoomba to smash out some caches on the to do list.
Both Seff and I need to collect a few more of the special tool attributes this month for a local Brisbane Challenge. So we had our poles at the ready and weren't driving past this one.
We secured a park right under GZ. The container was quickly spotted and retrieved. With a rather small tether and in the fading light, thanks to the dark rain clouds nearby, I struggled with the depth perception needed to returning this back to its perch. Got there eventually.
All in good order. Thanks Brother Colin.

This extended/long weekend across Anzac Day, it was an outback adventure to Charleville and Carnarvon Gorge. Departing Thursday afternoon, I stopped in Roma before continuing west through Mitchell and Morven and completing various puzzles and power trails. I then caught up with a small group to hike Carnarvon Gorge on Sunday and Monday, and then after having a final night in Roma, returned on Monday.
Today, it was time to head home from my weekend away from Roma to home. It was an opportunity to find a few remaining geocaches along the highway, and after visiting a few Chinchilla geocaches including the memorable cactoblastis monument [Mr Cole Snr, The Shanti & Prickly Pear](https://coord.info/GC8EW84), I opted to detour through Cecil Plains after going through Dalby, and then returned east via Toowoomba. Who would have thought that regular geocache stopping would add so much time to the normal 5.5 hr drive? With deteriorating weather in the late afternoon, it was time to then make the beeline home whilst getting a sneaky rain car wash along the way.
I pondered whether to detour past this geocache and grab this find, and sure enough, my obsessive geocache nature won out. It was a nice area, and I was surprised to have the capability of parking right beside GZ. A quick spot, and it was then an expedited retrieval and signing. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Brother Colin for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

We were heading back through Toowoomba after spending some time on the Star Ship Enterprise and this one was nice and close to our route so we couldn’t resist stoping for ‘just one more’. Parking at GZ, the cache was quickly spotted, TOTT deployed and log signed. Thanks Brother Colin
Up in Toowoomba with DisSister and Skydragon for a weekend of caching and events. Today’s focus was on the Hellhole track and then a scattering of the Star Ship Enterprise. This is one we found all the way back into the city, and it’s definitely my favourite sort of fishing. We parked right at GZ in the shade and didn’t take long before we had navigated the cache down to us, signed and popped it back again. TFTC, Brother Colin. =^.^=
Brother Colin I found your cache Fishing in Toowoomba on 24/1/2023, 1:50 pm. This is my find 4665 and find # 3 today. Found it, retrieved it, signed it and returned it. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
I came here yesterday to do some fishing and was happy with my catch but i got back to our room and realized that i had the lid to the cache in my pocket. DOH . So this morning my husband and i came back to put the lid back. They say practice makes perfect and i am getting better with this tree fishing. Thanks for all the fun
I found it couldn't get to it but I saw it put as found the owner removed my log as found
Day 1 of my outback travels and the start of my Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster trip for 2022. While I had a few hours to kill and wait around before I had to pick up Triple Turmoil, I headed off to Mt. Peel and around Toowoomba for some easy cache pick ups and a few DNF’s I had previously. It was nice to be out and caching around this town again. The plan was to leave this afternoon and drive a little further, to stay at Miles for the night for readiness for a bigger day tomorrow. This was all in readiness for our continuation from last year’s event and a very successful team collaboration with Willis007 and Jacs Team.
So I started with a couple of easy caches in town and then went for a walk around Mt. Peel (grabbed the new challenge cache, a trad and the whereigo). I then headed into town to spend some time looking for a Library cache that was the bugbear of my last trip, (got it this time). I then continued for a few more great caches around town. Thank you for the caches and the entertainment around here, sorry for the generic log but I got around 30 caches here. I signed the logs on all and replaced all caches as found, thank you.

After a bit of search I almost stepped on the cache in the long grass. Not exactly sure where it at what elevation this one should be at I placed it back at a reasonable height for the next lucky finder.
Out for a drive to Toowoomba to fulfill a Market Place transaction. Transaction completed, said goods stowed in the back of subi, and time to find a few caches before heading back to Warwick.
Fortunately, Fiashing in Toowoomba was on my radar today, so we made sure before we stowed the abovementioned goods in the back of the subi, that our TOTT was within easy reach.
This is the second time we've been to this cache - last time did not have a TOTT that would be able to reach this hide. Now we do, and we managed to reel in the goods, without being blown over by the strong wind. Getting it back was a bit harder, but nevertheless, got him back where he belonged.
Don't know who invented the stupid hobby of tree fishing!!!!!
Thanks Brother Colin for helping with todays fun. You get today's favourite point

Staying in Toowoomba for a few days. A lovely winter day so we headed out to find some caches of course. No real surprise but lots of traipsing up and down hills through long grass, quite exhausting for these grey nomads.

We’ve used our tree fishing pole on quite a few caches and I have been waiting for the inevitable to happen. Knowing what it’s made of I have been expecting it to malfunction at some point and it did at this cache.
After getting the cache down it didn’t want to play the game and we thought we may not be able to return it. However, while a tree fishing pole is now a necessary TOTT, so is having a roll of electrical tape in the car. I raced back to grab it and was able to do some bush repairs on the fly so it could be replaced. tftc

Fast approaching a milestone cache I decided to return to Toowoomba for a day of socially distant caching…
I was going to tackle Tabletop Mountain but my dodgy knee had other thoughts…
I was keen to stop here and have a cast... but as I approached GZ the cache was not where I would have expected... I could touch it from the ground as it was sitting in the fork closest to the ground...
So after making my mark I looked about for suitable places to return the cache too... My first choice didn't work as the ring wouldn't go over the vertical branch easily... so I've put it about 5m up close to the trunk... I hope this meets with the CO's approval... TFTC...

Tftc. The vertically challenged definitely needed our TOTT to retrieve this one. Replacing in the same spot was an interesting challenge too!
This wasn't on the short caches-to-do-in-Tba list but it was so close to another that MrG took no encouraging to give the pole another test. And a test it was. It wasn't an easy fish with a thin wavering pole end and a wet tree the same colour as the attachment. In our favour was no muggles on a Saturday afternoon and no sun dazzling in our eyes. Managed to get the loop after hooking a few twigs, limbs and blank air shots. Replacing the cache was easier. TFTC Brother Colin.
Swimming in the River Ankh is described as an activity for which the Watch will return a verdict of suicide, and it is noted that fishing in the River is forbidden, as it constitutes "waterborne salvage", for which Sir Harry King has the sole monopoly. Should you escape chastisement by Harry King's boys, be warned: the Ankh is the only river known where the catch has enough attitude to throw you back.
The strong winds made it very difficult to retrieve this and to return it but managed in the end. Thanks for the cache
Found this one only 2m up where I could nearly unhook it with my fingers. We returned it to a suitable perch higher up.

We have our fishing pole on board so we had no issues with retrieving the cache container. All is good with the cache. SL TFTC
Well I found it, but I have no idea how to retrieve it..may have to do some research
Was in Toowoomba having some work done on a customer truck today and thought I would try for this one.
No luck.
I didn’t have a fishing pole with me.
Even if I did, I wouldn’t have known what to do with it!

Tftc Brother Colin, early morning fishing trip, still new to these but managed to grab without too much trouble, replaced pretty smooth as well.

When you go fishing, hooking up to a tree or bush with your rig is a pain. BTW I did catch a bream once when the rig got caught and the bait sat tantalizingly just above the water line. The bream was of sufficient size to extract the rig from the tree for me. Bonus!!
The JAGET team arrived after the sun had set. There was still enough residual light around to catch the cache, tag then release. Thanks BC for setting up this cache.

My last cache for the day as the sun was setting. Getting dark makes seeing and returning the cache a lot harder! TFTC.
I enjoyed having a go at putting this one back! Got it quite quickly which must have been beginners luck ️ TFTC
Just enough light to get one more tree fishing cache. This one is bold, but I am guessing that the muggles wouldn’t even notice. This is my preferred way to fish. Just trying to convince my husband that this is equally valued to sitting on the water for a half a day - and at least I catch something
With a cache needing to be found today we thought we would go fishing! Packed the pole and the geopup in the car and off we went. We have upgraded the end of our pole since our last fishing adventure, replacing the foil wrapper hook with a real hook!
This proved to be much better and we were able to get the cache and replace it to its perch after adding our name to the log. Tftc

Bit of teamwork required to get this container loose from the perch. Willis007 was first to try and then handed the equipment to MrSimber15 who was able to get it down for signing. Wind made the return a little more technical. Thankyou! Love tree fishing.
A great day out in Toowoomba with Simber15.
Arriving at gz, this one was spotted quickly. I was handed the TOTT to have a go. My technique still very much in the rookie stage, which was very entertaining to watch! When third time lucky didn't bring this one to ground, I asked Simber15 to take over.
Log signed, all replaced as found.

We spent an interesting afternoon visiting many park areas. Fortunately for us Roostaman had his extendable fishing pole with him or we would not have been able to reach many with our 5m ladder.
This was the first we have done like this & found the experience quite amusing at times.

It was great fun caching with a crowd but I don't think I will be doing any of this back in Cyprus. I'd probably take someone's eye out with the TOTT. Thank you for bringing me here Brother Coline.
At the event today I was talking to Brother Colin and by 1500 was the owner of one of these advanced poles. It took me some time to work out how to use it but when I had I soon had the container in hand and was easy to replace the container where found. Would not like to be doing this on a week day during business hours. TFTC Brother Colin.
Very disoriented this morning when the alarm went off and it was still dark...what once was a regular occurrence with Kestal has become rare indeed. Much happier to make an early morning grab of this one then an afternoon one as a previous drive by had mower men and cars galore. Surveying the branches on arrival Kestal soon exclaimed she'd found it...not where we were expecting but not unhappy with the find . Names in log and I set about returning it to where we assumed it was originally placed...not easy to be inconspicuous in this spot but there is not alot that can be done about it. TFTC Brother Colin.
Ticking off another box with Eskies5 early this morning. We had stopped off at the this one previously but gave it a miss with the buys traffic and mowers mowing the lawn nearby. Today arriving early there was not nearly as much traffic and no muggles nearby. Arriving at GZ we found this one on the ground...half our job done . Signed our names and then using Eskies5 TOT we returned it back to its perch. TFTC Brother Colin
