Great winter morning for a walk through 80 acres. Very peaceful and great views. Although I didn't have a mountain bike to ride through this area, I was able to walk to the location. After my gps was trying to throw me off, I managed to find the area and locate the cache. Great hide. Tftc.

Checked on my cache today while out riding and while it's dry and in good condition, I've noted it's looking a little tired and running out of mountain bike supplies so I'll be back soon to get it back to it's original condition.

What started as a morning hike turned into a good ol' bush whack adventure that probably didn't need to be... still, had a great time picking up smilies and enjoying the views.

This cache is making me thirsty!

Cool idea for a container, we saw a couple of bikers crusing around the lanes here, I wonder how may collide with the kangaroos in the park...?

Thanks for the adventure

20-Jan-22
found with mogni. I have walked this park for years and years when i had Zoe the 4 paw all terrain kelpie, usually in the dark with out a torch. It was easier that way to spot the foxes, rabbits, etc for her to chase. Good to have a reason to come back to this park, i cleared it out years ago and have been waiting for enough caches to get published to come back.
No mountain bikes seen today but have seen many on other trips in here and even the odd motorbike. Did see a kangaroo. quick find.

17-Jan-22
Found with NiciDanielle and Zoe the Geodog. Awww this is a bit cute, it's like a little care package for downhill riders, complete with anti-bastard bird protection. TFTC

I decided I needed to go for a walk this afternoon and even though it was threatening rain I headed off. Found a good spot to park and started my walk. Did not spot anyone else on the tracks and only one rabbit that hopped off in front of me. [^]

I had been looking at this cache for ages and never got around to getting it so today with another newish cache close by I found my way here for a quick find. Big Grin

Thanks for the cache marvin277. Smile

26-Oct-21
Headed south again today with the main aim being some walking in the 80 Acres Park just a bit south east of Happy Valley for ten traditionals. Managed to find eleven other traditionals on the way there and scored a bonus of a puzzle in the park that I had on the To Find list.
A quick find, by foot, of a well themed cache.
Thanks to marvin277 for putting out this cache for me to find.

A nice walk around the park here today, managed to make a nice and easy find here and the cache is all good

With the whole day to kill and an early birds event in the city I decided I would head to the southern suburbs after being down the last night I wanted to clean up a few more of the caches in the area and mainly targeting the walking caches. All up 39 finds for the day.

Heading out to pick up a few finds in the gloomy and overcast weather, making the most from a day off from uni. Despite the drizzling rain it was a pleasant walk picking up a few finds but as the drizzle turned to steady rain, I made my way back to the car. All caches were found in good condition.

Managed to take the wrong track and had to bush bash the last 50m. Was quickly greeted by a good sized cache. Thanks marvin

21-Jul-19
Decided to head to 80acres to do a spot of caching before heading out for Sunday lunch with the geohusband. Should have brought them along for this walk as the hound would have loved it especially all the rabbits, will have to come back with them both to pick up the ones I dnfd today or didn't have enough time to complete.
Totally underestimated the terrain and the wilderness, the paths seemed to mosaic all over the place so did lots of scurrying back and forth to find paths to the caches. There was a lot of up hill too, and dogs and muggles on bikes.
But in all it was a lovely walk and I picked up 6 more caches for the tally. Then off for a well earned roast lunch (beef with Yorkshire pudding, delicious).
Really liked both of the containers here, after a bit of tooing and froing got to GZ and made a quick find, sign and replace. TFTC marvin277.

One of my goals for this year is to fill in and many of the 83 calendar days that I am missing having found a puzzle cache. Surprised To date I have crossed out 34 days but missed 12, so I was to eager to cross off another required day today. [^] Unfortunately none are very close to home anymore and so I found myself traveling 40 kms to 80 Acres Park to grab a puzzle find. May as well enjoy the sunshine and grab the others scattered around the park. Cool

The walk had been a lot of down and now I was walking up. The car is a long way away. No crazy mountain bikes encountered today. Cache soon discovered in a likely spot. Smile I wonder how many mountain bikers know that emergency help was located in the park. Surprised Then again they should all be carrying this stuff anyway!

**Thanks marvin277 for this cache. ** Big Grin

This cache has been annoying me for a while being the only green dot in an otherwise clear map area. So, th day, while I was out and about, I decided to take a small walk to fix that problem. With tracks shooting off in all directions, some made by bikes, and others by large hopping rats, it wasn’t easy to work out which one to take, or whether a more direct route could be better. In the end, it was a bit of both which was similar to a number of my other visits to this area. At GZ, my GPS wasn’t sure which direction or how far the cache was as it struggled to get a consistent lock, so I put it away and thought like a cache owner. Soon after I had the small cache in hand.

Thanks for the cache marvin277.

Having traversed these tracks a number of times over the years, one learns to not try to push through those bastard bushes which are rife in this area! Needless to say I dodged and weaved like a mountain biker on the track.
A quick find and we were off up the track to the sane mode of transport awaiting us.
Surprised only a couple of other logs on this one, it isn't a driveby, but is only about 500m from nearest parking spot!
The podium is now filled...
TNLNSL
Thanks

Silver for me. I was made aware by allister w that there was a new cache published behind home, so we set off with the geopooch to give him a walk. Didn't take long to find given the hint and coords were spot on. Took the opportunity to walk back via a path we've not walked before. TNLNSL. TFTC.

*FTF* @4pm. After work today I thought I would come and find this cache since it didn’t have any logs. Very well themed cache container with appropriate swag. A nice gentle walk in a park I have walked a few times. Favourite point added. Thanks for the cache marvin277.
