Finished work at 1pm and then we got our selves packed up and off on the road to Quorn for the June Long Weekend. We were going for a few of the events but not for the game itself. We thought it would be a great trip to make for the long weekend with lots going on.
We didn't find very many caches on the way there as we wanted to get to the campsite before the sunset to get our tent up and have a sundowner beer. Then to the pub in time for the When Freddo met Sally event.
The road North was pretty busy heading to Port Augusta wonder why they still haven't made this dual carriageway the entire way.....
We only had time for 6 finds but every one counts and made for an enjoyable drive.
After doing all the campsite jobs and drinking the beer (make that 3) we headed to the pub for dinner. I am not sure the Austral knew what had hit it, lots and lots of cachers in attendance. The very crowded front bar were out of pint pots and the two bar maids were at the end of their tether, so we had to make do with a schooner. Ordered a delectable serve of crumbed snags (no idea why Australia invented this dish but it is pretty nice) and a random pork salad. Meals enjoyed, geochatter enjoyed and nice to help Freddo and Sallymander celebrate their anniversary. Seemed to be lots of bread rolls consumed but the rowdy group.

Right were it all happened 40 years ago. Thanks for all the good wishes and hearty meal on a freezing night. We celebrated later with a bottle of 1986 vintage port.

At Quorn for the 2019 JLWE and as this event was attracting a lot of attention and knowing the venue was going to be Busy, we headed to GZ early to beat the rush. BUBOW.....Everyone else had the same idea! Was a great meal though and great company! The young girl serving did a stirling job with a smile. TFTC

A late afternoon departure out of Adelaide meant a late arrival at the event. Just in time for a chicken schnitzel though and a brief chat. Congrats Freddo and Sallymander.
When Freddo met Sally…….. I’ll have what she’s having!

A great event to kick of June LWE with! 40 years was a long time ago. Some 15 odd years before I was even born. There were no geocaches back then so I guess Freddo needed something else to do in his spare time... No one asked me if I wanted bread tonight though. I guess they were busy finding geocaches instead!
Thanks Freddo and Sally for the event!

07-Jun-19
I really enjoyed the opportunity to attend the various events in Quorn over the June Long Weekend. Although I didn’t take part in the main geocaching game, it was fun to catch up with other cachers, enjoy good company and get involved in some of the other activities.

This was a good event to start the weekend.

Thanks The Amphibian Nation for organising the event.

07-Jun-19
Attended on a JLWE outing with The White Dog Gang. Great to catch up with Freddo and Sally.
Nice meal at the Austral and a wildlife filled drive back to Horseshoe Top End.

It was great to finish the day with a pub dinner after traveling through Dublin, Balaklava, Jamestown, Orroroo and Wilmington, collecting caches along the way, to attend the Quorn June Long Weekend Event. Thanks to The Amphibian Nation for an enjoyable event!

07-Jun-19
Finished work in the city...a quick car change for LiB...then off to Quorn for the JLWE...
Drove through lots of roadworks which put us behind time...
A quick phone call to a friend to order our meal ...
Arrived just after 8pm and received our dinner in a takeaway container...
Caught up with friends & chatted to those remaining...
Congratulations Freddo & Sally on your anniversary and thanks for letting us celebrate with you...
Smile

Showed up just before the kitchen closed! I was frantically trying to set up camp in the dark. Luckily ma77hew was there to order before it was too late! Nevertheless, a great pub event and part of a fantastic weekend!

07-Jun-19
Okay so I really was there but sadly didn't stay long.... Oh my God I was sick....In fact I was mistaken for a homeless person when I was seen curled up in a doorway outside. Hopefully next time I will feel like socialising.
Thanks to Freddo from mogni Big Grin

Started the day with a lunchtime event in the city and finished with a dinner event at Quorn.
Once hevwalker finished work we were able to switch out cars and head for the start of our JLWE. Peak hour traffic and road works meant we would not be here before the kitchen closed. Popped an order in via geo buddies and dinner was served in a take away container.
Enjoyed the warmth indoors while we could... before heading to JLWE GZ to set up camp.

After setting up Crane’s Nest at the Caravan Park and tea cooked in the trangia by fairy penguins, we dashed across to catch up with the amphibian and his mates. We just made it on time.

AlphaDeltaIndigo and I spent the day trekking up to Quorn for this years June Long Weekend event. We spent most of the time attacking older caches with the aim of filling a few Jasmer grids, and a couple of unique and/or rare cache types.

The final cache for the night, and what better way to end that with a belly full of snitty from a country pub. Great to catch up with a bunch of JWLE regulars, and looking forward to a great weekend ahead!

This was find number 12 of 12 for the day for me. TFTC Freddo!

07-Jun-19
8512 baby&Mrs gopher attended Freddo and Sally's diner at 1830. This is the first time we have had the chance to be at a JLWE gathering. What a great way to start a long weekend in Quorn. Dinner in a pub with a great mob. SL Tnx to all.

Who said do you want some bread? I offered Salamander some bread and she decided on some wine. A good choice. At least there was no bow saws involved! The money shot pics included. Well done Monty- you also picked a winner!

Found on the JLWE with fourfun and others- epic fun and games!!

Thanks The Amphibian Nation and clear skies from TeamAstro. ?? Cache the planet! ??

Thanks to Freddo for bringing us to this great pub. After I picked up my geonephew from school and drove us to Quorn, it was almost 8pm when we arrived. The staff were very accommodating, taking our order just as the kitchen was closing, and Chef produced some scrumptious schnitzels. TFTE

News from Podcacher.com

Hi everyone,
Thanks so much for hosting a WWFM XVI event this year! We wanted to send you the news that official Pathtags are available to order, in case you hadn't heard yet.

You can order them here:
http://www.geocoinstore.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=1199

For a number of reasons, we chose not to create an official Geocoin this time.

Have a great time at your event and we look forward to hearing all the fun stories!

Only two more sleeps to go. Event will start from 630pm. As we have more people than the 40 seat room will hold can we treat this event as a rolling dinner. If you let the later arrivals get a seat at table it would awesome. I have advised the pub that we may have up to 50 attendees. Not bad for a Friday night in quiet Quorn.

Whoops. I put that other announcement on the wrong page. Sad

04-Jun-19
We'll be there
