I had a bit of time to duck out and try to find a cache today.
Last time I was here was late at night and the light in my phone is not that good, coupled with the battery level was getting very low.
Today, I pretty well walked straight up to GZ and had the cache within 60 seconds.
Glad to get another unfound cache found.
Thanks for the find!

09-Jun-23
I came to this cache after doing Pine Tree and my phone battery is going flat. I spent at least 20 minutes if not longer, here searching. I thought it would be like the one along the beach and then I was thinking bison tube but as I drained nearly all life from the battery, I called it and set off in the dark back to the cachemobile and trailer.

24-May-23
nice hide. cache in good codition

10-Apr-23
This took longer than it should since we took "no climbing needed" to mean no climbing at all not just the tree, fortunately Viking Dad never does as he is told and soon after we had found it.
Thank you for this hide

Apologies for the late log. I was in Hobart for 5 days in October for the cricket and there were games every other day which left me two free days for caching. This was the first of those days and I had originally planned to hire a car to pick up some solved puzzles. That didn't work out so I set out on foot from where I was staying in Bellerive. A big day of walking with 22,000 steps and 10 finds. After a few finds to the west I continued my walk. Having found the sister Pine Tree cache nearby I headed to this one. Took me a long time and I was close to walking away before I looked from another angle and spotted it. Thanks for the cache 63ROOS.

This took some time but got there in the end, cache and contents were in good condition.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

20-Nov-20
I have looked for this cache several times. Often in the dark. I did find what was presumably the original hide previously, and every time since. The updated log had me searching on the wtong side of the tree and in other places. Today it was windy and high tide. There were spots on the beach where I had to time the walk between waves, which came right up to below GZ! Today, just 1.2m from the original hide i found the new cache with a fresh log.

17-Mar-20
Our only DNF for the day. We found the cable tie with nothing attached but then others have found the cache and also noticed this empty cable tie. It didn't help that a muggle came and sat on the tree roots in front of GZ.
Will keep a watch on this one to see if we were cache blind or it is in fact missing.
Thanks.

Hi 63ROOS,
Thanks for your cache but we didn't find it. Well, we found the part that attaches it but not the rest. Had a bit of a look around where it might of gone but didn't succeed.
Messaged you a photo of what we found, pretty sure that it was part of the cache, it was in the right spot.

With my pushbike (i'm borrowing whilst i holiday here Big Grin ) i rode along the hard sandy part of the beach to the next hide. Excited by the higher D-Star rating i knew i was in for a challenge. Initially, i was looking in the wrong area so i moved to a different part obeying the GPS, usually good to do that ha ha [:o)] coz the co-ords for me [with my smartphone's GPS] were deadly accurate. I love it when the GPS settles and stays settled and the cache is within 1m of it's reading [^] This made the find easy and the cache was quickly in hand.

SL at 13:37 (i wrote 14:07 by mistake) damn SA time still present on my phone [:o)] I got the date right though lol Big Grin Sat. 21 Dec 2019.

For some unknown reason, this cache has not been on our lists whenever we came south. So today we made a determined effort. We were able to park quite close and after a short walk along the beach, we were at the pine tree. Given the hint and other information, the were only a small number of places where the cache could be hidden. After a short search the cache was located. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks 63ROOS for another enjoyable cache.

21-Sep-19
Yay, got ya this time!
Hi 63ROOS, thanks for the cache. I blame the twilight last time!
Was at boot park watching a grand final this morning with geoSonA, and after that'd finished, we wandered along the path, then the beach for the last bit, until we were back at the pine tree where we failed 4 months ago.
I did mean to bring a tool to remove the misleading cable-tie that fooled us before, but forgot!
Anyway, it didnt take too long to change the depressing blue frown, to a nice yellow smiley.
Thanks for the adventure.
#1551 @ 1220hrs Saturday 21st September 2019.

PS: there's been some re-vegetation activity at GZ recently. Tread carefully!

Wandered along the beach this afternoon in beautiful sunshine to collect this quite tiny camo cache. Thank u 63Roos for another super hide all good at GZ. Felt a little uncomfortable on the top of the doon, muggle central today but got away with it nicely. Logged with back to beach, thanks again for all your hides.

Quite a few people on the beach today, even though it was chilly. A. Artful look revealed the cache. Not sure about encouraging people to go off path, though. Tftc

TFTC! Haha gotcha, like the previous finder did not find a cable tie but definitely a cache

27-Jun-19
Unlike previous two cachers I didn't find a cable tie but fortunately I did find a cache.
Good coords is always a bonus.

With nothing else planned, we figured we'd spend a lazy Sunday morning doing a spot of caching on the Eastern Shore. In total, we managed to track down three traditional caches, one mystery cache and one EarthCache, with one additional DNF (this cache).

Unfortunately our result for this cache was the same as EeePees - we found a lonely zip-tie but no hint of a cache. Based on EeePees' comments, we didn't bother looking any further - it looks to be gone, unfortunately...

Still, lovely spot for a cache, with a good view!

31-May-19
geoSonA and I could find only the cable-tie still in place
Looked on the ground, but failed to find anything else.

A little later at the nearby Event, showed some pics to a couple of previous finders, who confirmed we had been in the right place.

So with a change in travel plans we realised we would be Getting off in Hobart we could squeeze in a little bit of caching before heading north. So we selected a few caches.
This was one and it took a bit of looking to come up withe hide. Not exactly what we first thought. We add our name to the log and re hid. TFTC.

Sneaky but fun

Hello 63ROOS thank you for the cache.

I found this one quickly and signed the log.
But had trouble putting it back as the key ring has been pulled out of shape and is now not attached to any thing.

Find #: 2,082
Companions: None
Muggles: None
Weather: Windy autumn morning
Cache condition: Good

While staying with family I decided to go for a morning jog ‘n cache; this was my second stop. I jogged along the beach from the other tree then headed to GZ. I was a bit disheartened when I saw the tree (this style of hide is much more popular here than Sydney for some reason), but following the co-ords took me to the right spot. The container wasn’t home, but I found it on the ground nearby. TNLNSL, then I put the container back in its right spot. TFTC

We stood and looked, and looked and stood. And looked and looked and looked and looked! Our first DNF for the day Sad

14-Apr-19
Took a bit but we found it! TFTC

A quick caching trip today with the goose, bit of a clean up of the area of these new caches.
Another easy quick find.

Thanks for the cache.

Our last day of caching in Southern Tasmania, started with a visit to the iconic Salamanca Market, followed by some caching beside the Derwent, through the city of Clarence.
A nice quick bit of teamwork and we were on our way.

Thanks to '63ROOS' for placing this cache on the geo-gameboard.

We walked along from the other pine tree and saw this D/T was a bit higher so thought we may take quite a bit longer but Stainless steel rat stopped at the right place and caught site of the container quite quickly which was a bonus. Just one more to go on out short outing today.
Thanks 63ROOS

06-Apr-19
Another run in with dog owner led to short distraction but found the cache quickly enough. Tftc.

05-Apr-19
Now on to number 2. Quite a few muggles with their pooches were on the beach so we had to bide our time until it was safe to search. As we expected with a 4 rating this one took quite a bit longer to find than pine number one. The bear was the first to catch sight of it. Thanks for the cache 63ROOS.

05-Apr-19
Nice beach. Thanks for the cache.

03-Apr-19
It was a windy day at the beach today. It helped a bit, but it still took a few minutes to spot the cache.
