We are now heading north to avoid the coldest of the winter weather in Victoria. Loving our time around Brisbane and around the area. Today we spent the day riding around Southbank and closer to the city.GPS had me much further under than I needed to be. Was hesitant to start searching with all the wee smell about and then even spotted a homeless asleep nearby. Only after heading out again, I took a look closer to the start and spied what should have been obvious with hint. Thanks domsky for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.
Very beautiful case, enjoying some BBQ good view and sweet homeless People ??
Between homeless people sleeping below and preachers standing above GZ was unassailable today!
We can’t go there since there are a ton of homeless people with knives getting evicted
Did not search for the cache due to a homeless camp at the spot. Maybe on the next trip to Brisbane.
While on ‘brunch’ at a conference, I took a walk to do some reconnaissance for another cache so stopped in to take a look.
Searched around a few areas, tried to avoid the homeless shelter but had to go nearby to make the find.

I decided not to search for this one as there was a homeless person nearby. Also, unfortunately, the area smelt of stale urine.
Did it at like 5:30 it was dark and my sister found a NEEDLE I also found money only like 6$ tho still a jackpot( note for creater: I didn't mark the date I only marked my name because my pen broke BTW the date is 7-may-23)
domsky I found your cache Urban Caching in South Brisbane 17 on 1/5/2023, 9:55 am. This is my find 5159 and find # 1 today. Found it after a brief search. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Sims_family and Dromaniax are on day Four of a our 10 day trip to Queensland and back again towing a 12x8x7 foot trailer that is loaded to the hilt and weighs quite a bit. Fuel efficiency has gone out the window with the Ginja Ninja (My Orange Mitsubishi Triton) going through fuel faster than I have ever seen before.
Day Four the trailer has been left on the Gold Coast to be unloaded so we have a day to ourselves without it. After a night in Brisbane Dromaniax and I went for a morning walk to grab a few caches nearby the hotel.
Our walking path was dominated by a couple of Virtual cache that Dromaniax had his eye on so the bridge here over the river was our point of crossing. Once over the bridge we worked out where we needed to be to begin our hunt and before long the cache was discovered.
Thank you domsky for the smiley

Today is the tenth day of the Sims_family/Dromaniax big road trip to Queensland and back again.
We are towing a very big trailer, which was chockers, but when you have a mission, someone else is paying for the fuel, and there is the opportunity for nine days of caching fresh fields, you jump at the chance.
We have a long list of target caches and hope to cross quite a few goals off the list on this trip.
This cache took us past what looked like a couple of abandoned campsites and what smelled like an outdoor urinal.
We did, however, find the cache safe and sound, sans urine, fortunately.
The cache is in great condition. Thank you for this Traditional cache domsky.

Our second attempt here after failing last time late at night, and here we are once again late at night, this time with sufficient battery so we can utilise our phone lights.
The hint helped, but there is still so many places it could be, but after a thorough search something interesting was spotted and after a quick look the cache was in hand.
Thanks for bringing us here.

Attended an Event and a CITO this morning and now time to find a few caches. This was an easy find when noting a good hint. Log signed before replacing as found. TFTC
Heading into Southbank after work for an event so naturally had to find a few caches as well. Despite thinking we knew what we were looking for, we were having no luck, a PAF had us searching again & nikid1 made the find & we eventually had our names added to the log.
Thanks for the cache domsky

This is my third visit to the big smoke in just one week, and my goodness, I have another event here again next week
On completion of a lovely BBQ event in the city, we did a little detour on our way for a team effort on The Anti-Social Mob cache to search for this one.
Going by the good hint, we managed to find the container after a short search.
Thanks domsky for another good Urban hide, and I hope you are both enjoying your travels around Australia

Was out this way for a nearby event.
This cache was found exactly where we thought it should be. It was exactly what we thought it would be. But could we find it. Nope.
Resorted to a PAF who confirmed all of our ideas. With a proper look the cache was finally found.
Next problem was that our pen wasn’t working that well but got a nikid1 and KMG eventually on there.

After attending the CITO this morning I have joined RoddyC hatzofff and Imbunda for an afternoon of geocaching.
Was able to park reasonably close to not have to walk miles to get here. 3 sets of eyes and gps telling us too many places, I checked a likely hide and found it finally. With log signed cache was returned. Sad about the broken piano nearby.

Event and CITO this morning and now time to add smiles to a few caches in the area.
Even our coordinates did not agree with each other but we worked on the hint and came up with the goods.

After a couple of morning events, it's time for a wander through West End
Nice to get one of these while they are still here. Reasonably easy to find.
Log signed and cache replaced as found at 1:22 PM on March 5, 2023. TFTC, domsky

An afternoon out in the city with the family to see SIX (great show!), I decided to stay back afterwards and grab some unclaimed Southbank caches as I had rare free time and it was quite warm and so lovely just wandering around for a while.
I spotted this one off in the distance from where I was and headed out along the river to head to GZ. At GZ my coordinates jumped around a bit, but with a few minutes of thinking and scanning the area I realised I was on the wrong side. So, adjusting my location I quickly spied the sneaky little cache and swooped in to sign the log and replace it. All is good with this cache. TFTC.

Found after a bit of searching. Not a nice place. Needles all over the ground and smelt like a local may have taken a dump nearby.
A quick find after crossing the bridge from our hotel on our first full day in this lovely city - Tftc
Care need in this area, suggest bringing gloves. Needed to wait for GPS to settle a few times and then the search began. Found and log signed. TFTC
Probably my third attempt at finding this cache and I'm glad to say I'm finally getting a smiley. The area though is filthy with clothes, tissues and rubbish all over. Recommend gloves and lots of sanitiser.
After looking at the activity for this cache, we thought, wouldn't it be cool to find it since there are 3 DNFs. Once the GPS settled, we found it easily! Experience helped here again. All dry and in good condition. TFTC
We didn’t find Urban Caching in South Brisbane 17 today.
Unfortunately the ground is littered with human excrement and toilet paper. I think GZ is still visited by those less fortunate than is. Poor souls.
After ferreting in the garden and finding my 4th used toilet paper, we decided to call it a day. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but this placement may need rethinking
Thanks domsky

Nice easy find on a cloudy morning! We looked for this one two years ago when we were living here and never found it (prob due to our lack of geo-experience). Great to be able to tick this one off while visiting Brissy for a few days! Tftc
#11308 - My walk continued to this little hide. Beautiful walk along the river, which also gave me the opportunity to study the local wildlife. Quite different from what I see (and hear) at home! The cache itself required a bit of search, especially as previous logs mentioned that the coordinates were a bit off. Hmmm, not too bad, I don't think. Appropriately themed cache.
TFTF and greetings from Sweden!

In Brisbane on business for two weeks, and taking the opportunity to find some caches over the weekend. Today's weather was beautiful sunshine from a clear blue sky and a light breeze.

Came up here to escape the rain and it was a great choice - swimming at the street beach, and all the rest of South Bank to explore. We found this on the way to the Go Between bridge, and hummed Cattle and Cane the rest of the day. Earthlight was spot on for the location - 18m North. Thanks domsky for putting this cache out
Found with The X-Trailers after completingcan adv lab. Cache foind appeox 18mtrs nth of gz TFTC

Found enough urban caches in my time to spot this cache quite quickly. Luckily out of view of nearby picnicking muggles.
All in order here, thanks!

I had stayed last night at an airbnb in Milton with a mate finishing up a week of work in Australia and while he caught up with someone else for brekky I legged it towards the CBD to do soon crate digging but zigged and zagged a little back and forth over the river to soak up the sunshine.
Ground zero and surrounds were quite busy with walkers joggers runners and what have you but someone wandering about pretending to take photos caused no alarm it seems.
I searched with my eyes not my hands till I spotted what I thought I might find, and soon had my name in the log.
Looks like some teens recently smoked some wacky tobaccy here based on the debris left behind. Can't blame them. It's a nice view.
Cheers domsky for bringing me to this location and making my exploring a bit more fun.

We walked across the bridge and our son was able to show us the lights he had worked on. We laughed when he told us he has permission to drive a car up onto this bridge. We kept laughing until he pulled a key out of his pocket which removes the bollards that stop anyone else from using it as a peak hour shortcut.
Not only that he has an app on his phone which allows him to change the bridge light colours if needed. We dared him to do so but he could see there was already a program in place that used the colours of whatever soccer teams were playing at Suncorp tonight.
Strangely we found an abandoned piano near GZ. Only half the keys work so we could see why it had been dumped. You don’t know how good chopsticks sounds when you can’t play a B-Flat, E-Minor or Needle-Sharp. tftc

First find during a 2 day sojourn in Brisbane with __Cat__. This was a nice quick find near our accommodation and placed us well for a meander through the arts precinct. TFTC!
Super sneaky but perfect hint! Left a sticker for the next cacher awesome view TFTC
2nd one of the day. Nice spot to sit before moving onto the next one. Another great cache.
I knew I would have GPS issues under here but no stress at all. Very typical hide but done really clever. Hint was very helpful. Cache in fantastic condition and built to last

But no pen unfortunately. Wasn't quite where we thought it would be based on the map, but TFTC
The last time I came looking for this one I had to abort my mission due to a couple of people getting there just before me and started settling in. This time only had to be aware of muggles walking past. Enjoyed the sky over the bridge. I came; searched; found; signed log; returned cache to its home; and left in search of my next adventure, whatever that turns out to be.

I’m in town for magic round and thought we’d do some caching in between games.
We spent the afternoon over at the uni grabbing caches.
Another wet day
Thanks

Found it. Couldn't get the kids to help me because they were distracted and too busy drawing a crowd.
Second go here.
Thought this type of hide may be the culprit !
GPS reception is terrible. Thanks for the clue, it helped enormously.
First go Tried both levels, but the clue sorted that out.

Great place for a walk, especially with my family geo sis and niece. Fun day out. TFTC
Did a bit of rock hopping for this hide, saw the nice view of the river as it flowed and played a little piano set up for anyone to play
My Geo sis and I were booked to cache in Brisbane back in July last year but COVID locked me OUT of QLD. Finally able to get there this weekend and find it. Happy Easter
At a recent get together to paddle Hays Inlet, one of the participants mentioned making their next HUGE milestone a unique cache type during the Mega in Townsville…Well if that didn’t plant a little seed that sees me trying to get a couple of hundred caches in two weeks so I can make my little milestone something unique too…
I’m targeting Adventures from New Farm to Southbank and any other caches that I step over on the way…
After completing the COs very entertaining Adventure I thought I’d visit this cache… again… I’ve been here once before… but it must have been the light, or the stars, or what I was wearing…

Easy and straight forward find. I’m not certain but I think this may be my first ever in Brisbane.
First look at the river too after the flooding, amazing that it came up this far.
Good spot, always nice to have plenty of shade in QLD.
Thanks for the cache!

Now that the water levels have subsided, we came to check on this one. It has clearly been well underwater for a few days, given it is right on the Brisbane River. Despite this, it had not floated away and the log sheet is totally dry. Now… that was a surprise!
Out today to continue my little personal challenge that I have set myself. I have found that if I do not set a goal I will just sit in front of the computer and get sucked into all the little worm holes it has, lol.
So I headed out to grab a cache I could not find last time and grab another as I was passing. Wearing my high viz clothes again seems to stop people from wondering what I am doing. I got lucky and found a park close to GZ and made a short walk over to the cache hide. Found it easily today and a nice new log. I signed the log and made my way home, all done for today. Thanks for the nice new log, all good here.

May need a check. Two sets of eyes looking for a while and very experienced
Looked with Chewy for ages and couldn't spot even though we found a photo of exactly what the cache container looks like. Looks like it may have fallen?
After multiple failed attempts due to the area being occupied, I got this one fairly quickly. Just depends if anyone is sleeping nearby at the time. Hopefully they’ve found somewhere comfier. TFTC!
Easy find with the hint giving it away. Hard to find parking so not much time to look...however we still had time to let out a few tunes.
