3rd find while out for a walk, collecting a few caches on the way. I arrived at GZ and started my search. My GPS wouldn't settle. After some time I expanded my search area, and then spotted something likely. It appeared the cache had been muggled, there wasn't much in it other than a tatty old plastic bag. I had some paper, so I left a temporary log. Then I checked where next I would head and as I started leaving the area I spotted something odd. It turned out to be the log in its plastic bag. I decided to return it, placing my piece of paper in the better bag. I think maybe an animal had removed the log? I then continued on my way. TFTC.
Last one for the morning after a superb morning with debutant Frenchykekand he was the one who made the find here!Well done on his part, and what an excellent cache container. Thanks to whoever recently replaced the log!
Out caching with Loci612 this morning doing a handful of caches around Cooleman Ridge. The weather was perfect which made it a beautiful day to explore with amazing views the whole way around the ridge. This is such a cool container! Thank you charlotteleclerc for the cache!
This one was too good for me even once I realised what I was looking for. The GPS didn't help much but I did search a few metres each side of it .
New log installed. Needs further maintenance on actual container. Will fashion a repair.
Very nice hide. There is just enough paper to scrawl on, but future finders should bring more to keep the logbook here going, and implement a longer-term solution. Sorry I didnt have any paper etc. with me today. Cheers for the cache --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
Log still needs replacing. This was our first ever geocache find years ago. Great to see it’s still here. Still one of our favourites.
Only one small fragment of log paper remains and this my have been recycled many times. Needs a new logbook.
#3598 Certainly not was I was expecting to find but it was an interesting container. Added our names to a paper fragment however cache is in need of a new log. TFTC charlotteleclerc.
That's a big cache! (well for this kind of container at least). For some reason my GPS was SUPER bouncy here, it just wouldn't settle. So kind of just wandered around randomly until something looked suspicious. Soon something sparked my interest and that was the cache! Interesting container, I like it! Log signed, cache replaced and soon continued on the trail. TFTC charlottleclerc!

The date is February 25th, the time a little pass 9, and I head off to another geocaching adventure! (well not before various problems leading up to it, but I got there eventually).
My goal is to find the remaining Canberra Centenary Trail caches, that goal however, managed to spectacularly flop on it's face due to me A) me miscalculating distance + elevation and B) me being weak and not being able to ride up a hill properly.
The end result was me calculating the GZ of all of them but only being able to find one because I wasn't able to return to that track without dying. That's pretty annoying, but it will give me a excuse to go back to the bushland so I guess that's fine.
A lovely ride today, starting in Dickson, to Coombs, to Kambah Pool (following CCT), to Tuggeranong, to Macarthur, back to Tuggeranong then returning to Lyneham. Only problems were that the heat is HORRIBLE.
Like I might as well have jumped in the Murrimbidgee river, as then I would have been cooled down!
A surprising lack of grass seeds in my socks by the end, despite the long grass. The only animals sighted was many kangaroos, a few lizards and a single shingleback just lying on the fire trail waiting to be run over.
36 (i think) caches found today, covering 93km and 879m of elevation gain, I am now tired.
Overall, great day and thanks to all the cache owners for contributing to this massive gameboard of ours. TFTC!

#16304 - 10:25:00 AM; Out on a caching run around Cooleman Ridge with Sol de lune. Collected the eleven caches I needed as we made our way around together initially before Sdl headed off and I continued for the last few solo. Unless otherwise indicated, all caches were found in good condition and replaced as found once the log was stamped/signed. No problems here with a quick find and sign. TFTC charlotteleclerc
Out on walk with LuckyL10n around the ridge on what is a great spring day. Cache found after a short search and we were soon on our way again.
Thanks charlotteleclerc.....cache all good.

Found on a big day walking Cooleman Ridge. It took a while at GZ for the GPS to settle down (seems to be common for cachers around here, strange) but after a few minutes the cache was spotted. I found the cache was a bit hard to open but it's a very cool container! TNLNSL. TFTC charlotteleclerc!
Grabbing some caches on this nice early morning with Wilbert67.

A beautiful morning walk up down and around the mountain with J+J.AU that turned into a couple of hrs. Weather started out great for the day and turned pretty warm later on. All caches found fairly easy.

Another Sunday had come around, so our small group formed up for another visit to Coolamon Ridge. We hit twelve caches today that I had not done before whilst walking too far and up and down too many slopes. There are some great views from some of the places along here, and the newish lookout was a favorite spot for the day.
Thanks for the cache charlotteleclerc

Another week and another assault on Cooleman Ridge with my geofriends. Yes there are contours - and they always seem to be higher, though that is not possible when you think about it. A good find up the contours and log was soon signed then I took a little time to admire the views. TFTC Charlotteleclerc
Coolemon Ridge mark II saw us come past this cache early on on our walk.
TFTC - the views are fantastic.

A beautiful day caching in the area never visited before. Clever hide. TFTC
This took far longer than it should have! Great camouflage! Well worth persevering to find it. Picture near GZ
A walk with Dino, Wilma and Hoppy on this wonderful Cooleman ridge with it grand views on the Brindabellas. We love the views and it is always a great place to come to with a number of unfound caches in the central bit of the ridge we did a nice loop for a decent catch of the day and got some great fotos and the soaked up the views.
Quick find, nice place for aome more views, all in good order.
Thank you charlotteleclerc for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

The gps was bouncing us around a bit today but found a couple of m away from where our map was pointing. Obvious in the end! Love the work that's gone into this one. We really appreciate the effort. Tftc
TFTC Out on the MTB this evening, making the most of the best of daylight saving. There’s not many muggles about today.
Grateful thanks to CO for placing and maintaining the caches to entertain me on my journey.

Decided to try for a long caching hike today, so headed out with a bag full of swag, two cans of Diet Coke, and 700ml of water. We hadn't expected it to be so hot (the forecast got it wrong - surprise!) so had to ration the drinks. 4.5 hours after we set out, we arrived back at the car, hot, tired and covered in grass seeds (for the most part, the grass was taller than Saf!), but glad to have added so many smilies to our list. We left either Ooshies, safety whistles, or Simpsons Lego minifigs in each one that could fit swag.
This was our last cache for the day, and were glad to find the cache so quickly! A nice container, and just enough room for some swaps. Now to head back to car! TFTC!

22,231. Found with minniek during an afternoon's caching around south Canberra.
Picked up minniek from work and we headed down this way for an afternoon's caching. After a few fun (?) tree climbs we then ventured up to Cooleman Ridge for a circuit collecting 7 caches. This was the next one, and after the journey through the long long grass, a nice quick find at GZ. Haven't seen this type of hide container before. Signed the cache, replaced it as found, and then on to the next one.
Thanks charlotteleclerc !!

Oh, wow - how good is this? Beautiful views too, the hardenbergia on this ridge is a wonderful splash of colour and I've taken photos to show how lucky we are to be here. TFTC and a fave from me. PS. the log was totally full so I added a slip of paper and placed both logs in a new baby plastic bag will be good for another few months.
Out for a walk to regain fitness after knee replacement surgery.
A good days caching!

Last sunday morning I went for a cycle to, and around, Cooleman Ridge - one of my favourite places to bike. The main trail here is exceptionally well maintained, much more so than most others I know in Canberra's south, and it is close enough to my home that I needn't heap my bike into my car but can include the heenward route into my journey.
Anyhow, I'd actually been around here finding caches a month or so back, but at the time lacked a pen to actually sign them - so this sunday it was more a matter of simply sidling over to already located caches and signing them off while no one watched.
Cooleman Contours:
This one gave me a moment's trouble when I first looked for it, its well hidden for its size! On the second visit, though it was simple enough, though a detour off the good cycle path.

Another day progressing my tour of the Centenary Trail. Whilst I was searching about 5m away from GZ, my muggle boyfriend (and highly unenthusiastic geocacher!) started pointing and called out “there’s something funny-looking over here”. Nice one! Thanks CleC
This one took me a little time to find, but I was pleasantly surprised (eventually)! I looked up at one point from among the rocks to see an old fella watching me from the nearby track with a quizzical look his face. Where in the hell did he spring from? He eventually kept shuffling along, so I assume his curiosity had been satisfied! All in good order. TFTC clc.
This cache brought a smile to my face when I found it as it is really creative and fun
Cheers

Big Thank You to StrangeTrousers for convincing me to espcape the house for some midweek fun caching. Have missed time out exploring and with the views out today it is understandable who. Stunning place to visit. Took along my walking poles for the hills but hardly needed them due to some clever work from my geobuddy with planning the route. It was the perfect day not to cold, the sun was out and caches found.

#6058 2nd for today
Perfect mid-week caching weather today so I dragged CBRChic out of hibernation and headed down to Cooleman Ridge. I never get tired of the views over the back towards the Brindabellas from here. I used to live down this way. I've cached here a few times over the years but now there is a bunch of new caches to make a new trip well worth while. We managed to minimise the amount of climbing with a carefully chosen route and no misses today.
Thanks charlotteleclerc

Second of the day on a birthday walk with the family. Great camo as always from the CO. This one a little different. Tftc.
Well that was a surprise.. yep, another rock, GPS was very confused, just luck that I made the find, was some distance from where indicated, very cute anyway, tftc
**This Cache:**
A well constructed cache! Myself and DSD spent a minute or two searching for it until he eventually spotted something that looked out of character, very smart!
Thanks for another cache up here
---
**Today:**
It had been over a week since I last went out to hike in a quiet location and get out of the work / home routine so decided it was time for another isolation exercise afternoon
Myself and DSD chose Cooleman Ridge today, as I had many unfound caches up there! In fact it was probably my largest cluster of unfound caches in Canberra!
It was a good afternoon, only saw a couple of other people out and about from distances but we had the place mainly to ourselves to search for each cache unhindered! We ended up with 14 total finds and no DNF's which was an awesome effort!
Thanks to all the CO's

In these uncertain times it's still legal to exercise, and fortunately geocaching is one of those pastimes that you can still enjoy without being scrutinized. Parked at Darrell place and did a 5.5km loop picking up caches. It appeared that a family of geokids was caching as well today and was quickly gaining on me from behind. If they log this cache today then my instincts where right. Tftc.
Wandered around a bit before I made the right approach to GZ. A nicely constructed container and good camo. TFTC charlotteleclerc
I had some time this morning and also needed to find a few caches in the Cooleman Ridge area. Turned it into a loop got on my bike and off I went. TFTC
The end of my loop of caches. This one was a quick find before heading back to the car nearby.
Thanks,
Thanks,
Canberra is really really quiet this weekend, and the weather is pretty good, but who wood have thought it would hit 31 degrees so soon - we had a Frost only a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, we put the hound in the car and went somewhere a little different for a walk and a couple of caches. And or was hot. And windy. But still good.
It took a few minutes of poking around, looking in, under and around - then suddenly - ohh!, well, yes. that does look a bit suspicious, and surely enough, there it was. We also found a purple dinousaur nearby which surely must have escaped the cache, so it was re-captured and forced back inside.
Thanks charlotteleclercfor placing and maintaining this cache

Using the Cooleman Ridge caches for my daily finds. This cache was found very quickly and the cache plus logbook were in good condition. The logbook was signed DSD or DARKSIDEDAN.
I love discovering Geocaches, Trackable items and collecting Pathtags. I have added your cache to my growing list of “Found It” logs. I hope that you enjoy Geocaching as much as I do. For me geocaching is a way of life. When I am not Geocaching, I am thinking of Geocaching. I would like to say a very big than you for placing your geocache and for maintaining it for the Geocaching Community. In 2019, I won the right to place a Virtual 2.0 Cache from Geocaching.com, but I have not placed it yet. I am just trying to find somewhere that is worthy of a Virtual Cache.
Here is a little information about me. I have been geocaching since 2015. At the time of finding this cache I have over 5600 finds plus 340 hides. I am the creator of the “Duck Dip” Lab Cache that won 2nd Place for the Australian Capital Territory in the State Vs State - Battle of the Lab Caches at the OzGeoMuster - The Gong Mega 2019 in Wollongong, Australia.
Now let’s talk Pathtags. Currently I have over 4600 Pathtags in my collection plus about 500 Etagz. I currently have two of my own Pathtags (45762 & 46950) with another one in the works.
**********************************************************************
I have included with my Found It log an Original and One of a Kind, Geocaching poem that I have written. I hope that everyone who reads it gets some enjoyment out of it.
Geocache Poem by DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.

I am currently writing very detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC called "The Author". This Badge challenges geocachers to write logs with an average length of more than one hundred words per log. As of the 14th August 2019 my average Found It log is 125 words per log. I would like to get all my logs up to more than 200 words per log but I will have to wait and see how I go. Currently I am just trying to get my average up by finding and logging as many geocaches as I can. My apologies to anyone who finds my lengthy logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain the highest level with this challenge. After more than 5,800 geocaches (which includes all cache finds up and including this cache, I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task very soon. Progress has been better than anticipated.

With the afternoon off as grandson activities wasn't required I organised a walk in the afternoon;s glorious winter sunshine. We targeted this hill and Urambi for a brisk 4 km walk over 1.5 hours with an easy ascent/descent of just 170m finding 5 caches in the process.
This cache was another quick find in a pretty location. TFTC charlotteleclerc.

Today I was on the hunt for three caches for a challenge, had it all planned for this morning as my day was really busy... Result, I failed! No luck at the first, was rushing but either on the wrong side of the fence or it's under a cap I can't reach high enough for. The second there was no parking and then no time to walk the distance when I found a park. The third I was out of time but had workers right where I needed to be! Was going to sneak in behind their vans but then noticed a guy watching me as I sussed it out... so I had to drive off!
My luck turned about though when I found myself free in the late afternoon and instead of a late night cache hunt I instead came down here to this little pocket of three caches. It was still a very nice time of the day to be out walking and other than my obvious lack of fitness on the initial ascent I warmed into it and had a lovely walk up on the hill tops.
This was the second cache of the afternoon. Still a little up but easy going now and quite peaceful. I decided on the direct approach and was surprised that through the grass there was the faintest of tracks that led to no where but took me straight to the cache. Wasn't long and I had arrived but then spent the longest of time following my indecisive phone around in circles. After a short while of that it was phone into the time out pocket and a search of the nearby area soon had it found. No doubting the hide once found and a nice bit of camo, thanks for the cache charlotteleclerc.

An afternoon's caching with AngelG27, to boost her find numbers for 16 June. She wanted some real caching which meant some that had to be worked for, rather than park and grabs. This and a couple of nearby ones sure fit that criteria. Once at GZ it took us a few minutes to locate the cache as our GPSs were being a little erratic. Nicely hidden. TFTC.

After grabbing a few park and grab caches yesterday, I decided today to do some “real caching”. Made a plan to meet up with TikvaNZ at noon and we headed south to pick up some meet caches on Cooleman ridge and Mt Stromlo, with a quick trip to Gordon thrown in for good measure. I ended up with 10 finds from 10 caches looked for, but needed a PAF on one of them. And 4 TE caches to boot! So a successful day with some exercise thrown in and idle chit chat about 2020 caching plans. Thanks TikvaNZ for the company!
This cache: another cache that had us going around in circles, but eventually the suspect was cornered and its disguise removed! Nice camo!
Thanks charlotteleclerc for the cache and the fun!

F(H)ound It! #3264 @ 10:40 AM
A brisk walk with the geoDane and our mates, Noikmeister and his geohound. One of those perfect Canberra winter mornings. Crisp, cold and clear (although I am starting to warm up a bit now). I love this hill, just a short climb and then so much saddle... and glorious views of the Brindies.
Nice container found by NM at GZ while I untangled the GeoDane from her lead for the umpteenth time.
Thanks for the cache charlotteleclerc

ZimbaW and the geouhounds and I made our way via the paths to this cache. The clue didn't help much since there are so many rocks, but like a judge famously once said about pornography, you know it when you see it! Same for this cache.
Thanks charlotteleclerc

I made my may around to this from another nearby cache. An enjoyable walk as I got a good chance to see the changing view along the way.
At the gz I started my search, without much luck for a while as my phones GPS is being very slow to update. I resorted to looking at the satellite photo and trying to pick which rock was required. Hmm no rock at the gz spot on the photo. After widening the search and approaching from a few different angles the cache was spotted. Hee hee. Now I get the hint and comments from previous finders.
A pleasant stroll and a cool find.
I should come up to this ridge more often. Thanks CE.

Morning trip before appt and shopping. Quick find nice hide. TFTC charlotteleclerc
Decrypter and I took a walk through these hills to find three caches. (Four for Decrypter.) Thank you for bringing us to see this place. Views either side. Nice cache. I was going to mention the internal size, but I see that has been corrected. Great when it's a sensible CO who responds without offence . It is a nice cache; something different, so for that and the views have a favourite tick. Spectacular autumn colour looking down on the suburbs, and the occasional autumn tree up here too.
