Interesting place around here …. Very cool to explore and find caches. No snakes like at the last one. Tftc
Found It.................While up in the area working and with a few hours before we were due to check in to our accommodation for the night we grabbed a couple of caches. After pulling up i wandered over to GZ where a quick search soon had the container in hand and with the log signed we continued our journey. Thanks GemmaSistema for the cache
We were on our way home from the Mega, and as we went via Ballarat to see Mr Dromaniax's father in the hospital, we decided to grab the cache closest to our Centroid to meet a Challenge cache.
We hadn't been able to make the exact calculation, but we knew it would be around Timor. So we decided to find all four caches just to be sure.
This was one of the four.
We found the cache in fading light, which was in great condition.
Thank you GemmaSistema, for this Traditional cache.

The lure of Gold drew me out this way from Maryborough
Although no heavy yellow rocks were found i still struck gold with the cache as it was discovered after a small dig for it
SL at 14:30 on Thursday 4 August 2022.
The cache and contents are in A1 condition.

In Maryborough for the day with time for caching finding a variety of caches and a couple of DNFs All in all a very satisfying day and while the weather at times looked threatening the rain held off An area with obvious signs of the former mining activity TFTC GemmaSistema
Fun, adventure, travel, history, geology, mental stimulation, social gatherings, support and friendship are just some of the elements of geocaching.
Out and about enjoying the opportunity to grab a few caches, yours being one of those I targeted on my journey today. Thanks ??
Thanks GemmaSistema (F=8278 H=233) for placing this cache and adding to our game.

Found with LittleBoss2 on a beautiful day travelling. We walked and sometimes bush bashed to a lot of caches today on our way from Bendigo to HallsGap. So many amazing views today, making us feel so grateful to live in Victoria.
Our thanks to Gemmasistema for bringing us here

Heading off to Halls Gap for a couple of days with Bogonghazy. Quick detour. Easy find. Thanks for placing the Geocache
On a fun treasure hunt with my boyfriend. Took us a second to find it (didn’t read the map properly ) but was a fun find full of treasures. Put our own little addition in there (little computer processor) lots of fun. TFTC -Raymond & Squizz
A very quick and easy find.
The remains suggest that this was quite a successful mine.

Was told by my work to have Monday off from work so i turned that into 3 days, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and I picked a spot on the map that I can not remember ever visiting so Marybourgh was the spot.
After such a big day yesterday the plan was to a have a bit more of a relaxing day and take it as it comes.
Another one of the mines from a gone by era not as much gold from the Grand Duke but still an impressive mount to find.
Also not much left of the town either so no gold so no people I guess.
After searching in a few spots I soon located the cache, added my name to the log and now lets see how many more I can find today a bit more of a relaxed pace.
Thanks GemmaSistemaTFTC.

After taking the road less travelled to get to this one, we quickly made the find. Must have been caching as there was a perfectly good dirt road right in front of us by which to leave. Thanks for the cache.
It was fun to find when I was looking around I look at it from a distance and I just sore it was a great little spot to hide a box but it was bigger then it says
An easy find in an intteresting spot. Thanks for putting a cache here GemmaSistema.
Interesting to see remnants of mining here. Thanks for giving us a reason to stop today GemmaSistema. Found with Alansee.
TFTC. while we were out in Bowenvale finding the multi, we though we may as well head around the corner to this GZ. A nice park and grab at an old mine site.
A good excuse here to detour away from me planned track to camp tonight
Who doesn't love an olde mine ?? [^]
So mining me own business,
I wandered around for a quick cache find
Thanks for another caching nugget [^]

Based in St Arnaud before the official start of the 2019 St Arnaud Mega, was close enough for a family call to Bendigo, of course the route we chose offered many a stop to nourish our caching addiction. A bright smiley token for our map!
Thanks 'GemmaSistema' for adding this cache to the gameboard.

I am right in mining country here today and I have already spotted two people with metal detectors.
A quick find on a cool morning

With an impending drive to Brisbane on the weekend, M decided he wanted something more effective to store his coke in than an esky. A search on Gumtree found us a small 12v Engel cooler located nearby and we were off to buy it.
He got a drinks cooler, I got a cache! A nice easy find in the late afternoon although it's cold enough at the moment that we could probably leave the drinks outside
Thanks

Super busy week this week but I needed a calendar day. I'd been saving this one as it's so close to home but needed it today. A quick find on my lunchbreak. I tried looking for this mine with very vague directions years ago with no luck. So easy, not sure how I missed it! TFTC
At Lady membsec’s mum’s place for a few days. Dodging the rain for a few caches.
Tracks getting a bit wet but quickly at gz and log signed before the rain.

Found today with Explorer Nan, while enjoying a day out exploring Maryborough and surrounds. We always love visiting these mining sites, seeing the relics and imagining what life would have been like out here in the days. TFTC GemmaSistema.
Extensive ruins of such great, hard labours. I had no idea of the richness of the gold yield here. There’s so much to see in this area. TFTC
Find # 8333
Found with Tyred n Cranky
We decided to go out of our local area n explore somewhere different. Main aim for today was to go on a gem hunt for the "Mystery at the Museum" geo game.
Yesterday we done our homework n planned our route around the area between Maryborough, Newstead n Smeaton. Thankfully this area was rich with gems and provided us with enough to finish off this part of the game.
Interesting to see such a large mining area hidden in the back block, so close to homes.

Find No. 2664. Found at 10.00am
A trip to Maryborough to do some caching and shopping. Went in the van and took Geodog Penny with us.
On the way we cut across to Timor to grab the two out there before making our way into Maryborough. This was one of them.
We had to be careful where we parked here as we didn't want to get bogged due to the ground being a bit soft with all the rain we have had recently. Not only that, but we had to keep a sharp eye on Penny who just loves puddles and we didn't want a wet dog in the van. A great spot for a cache out of the way of everything - no-one at all in sight today.
A quick easy find. With log book signed we all jumped back into the van and off the the next one.

We went for a drive late afternoon with family north of Maryborough to get them out of the house and enjoy Timor and the Dunolly area with the added bonus of a cache or 3.
A cool mine ruin area to explore as we made the find here. Brendan was happy to find a small car in the swaps so we got ours out from the back and made a fair trade.
Cheers for the good size cache.

Thought I’d pop out a grab these couple at Timor I hadn’t had the chance to grab yet. A few nice quick finds and a couple more smilies on the map. TFTC.
After an invite from my great caching mates the suscoe's to venture up the highway to Ballarat and beyond well you cannot knock that sort of an offer back.
Up early, shower, breaky, cut lunch, sort out the thermos and milk and the other caching bits and pieces and eight o'clock is here and the silver wagon is coming up the hill to the Ant Nest.
I have never been to this area before so all new to the ageing Bushfire so it was good to find a fair sized container waiting for us.
Thanks again.
Sean.75, kenare and i decided to head this way for a few caches and lots of laughs. The only plan we had was to make to the event and then see where we felt like going after that. TFTC
Made a quick find here as we head to the Event in Maryborough.

Suscoe and Bushfire decided to have a day out caching between Geelong and Maryborough.
We made good time heading up the highway and enjoyed the sunny weather as we went along.
Mrs. S. and Mr. S always enjoy a trip with the Red Ant and today was no exception.
We found a variety of caches in a range of locations.
Thanks to GemmaSistema for this hide, a nice sized container in an interesting location, a few dead kangaroos about along the roads, the country is so dry.

I had a date in Maryborough today. Please, as a married man, I beg and plead of you, don't tell my wife. She mustn't know about my secret dalliance. I snuck out while she was at her mother's. I didn't tell her I was going. I packed my bag and under the cover of the breaking dawn light I left my family home.....
Soon enough I arrived at my destination and with sweaty palms, shortened breath and a true look of love in my eyes I approached her. It was now or never. I wanted to give this my all, so I decided that the protective sock over my head and shaft should be removed. I walked up and got myself in a comfortable stance, ready for action.
I leaned forward and slowly and effortlessly inserted my............
tee in between the markers, ready for the first tee off of the day at the Maryborough Golf Course.
Wow, I should write for Mills and Boon (are they still around)? Golf has NEVER been this exciting.
With my wife and daughter out of town I decided to make the drive to Maryborough for a hit of golf. Just after my game concluded (a high score is a good score......isn't it?) and I was grabbing a bite to eat notifications of some new caches came through.
Only a few km off my path home.
How exciting (maybe even more so than golf!).
I love old mining sites. They are fascinating in themselves and when a cache is involved even more so.
I looked around for a while and soon found the nice, fresh cache. A FTF. Love a blank logsheet.
Thanks for the cache Gemma and for bringing me to this location.
I'm off for a cold shower now!

We had a great day's caching today with ilook4geo. We had a program worked out which we followed until lunch time. This worked out well and all listed caches were found, with each having another couple of names added to the finders' log. At lunch time the program was abandoned with the discovery of some newly published caches around the Maryborough district, which is where we were still on the hunt.
This cache here was a nice straight forward find with good co-ords. Thanks go to GemmaSistema for another cache to be found in the district.

The hunt with goingplaces2 was on today with some surprises, which was really good. This was a cache that was quickly found. Log was signed and we were soon on our way to the next target. TFTC.
