The weather was okay for a bike ride so the plan was to drive to Gawler, collect a few caches on the way, then ride the Meat Trail and look for a few of the caches along there. Its a good thing I took my gravel bike because I underestimated the degree of ruts and sandy sections along the Meat Trail - and that only made the ride even more fun...at times collecting caches broke the flow and rhythm of the ride so I didn't stop to look for all caches. Great ride, although the plan to grab a bite to eat at the Wasleys Hotel didn't work out as they dont open the kitchen for lunch - but the person behind the bar was extremely friendly and a beer and pack of barbecue chips sufficed. By the end of the ride I had looked for 21 caches and found 20. Oddest location was pet cemetery. TFTC
Feeling hungry and decided to wet the appetite with doing this trailOut with Weredunn4 munching through this series.TFTC SL
Tackling the Meat trail with Wayne APN this afternoon. A fun track to traverse. Cache found and log signed.
In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location. (HaHa). In your dreams, these cachers do. [:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort. Devilish Brilliant and Clever I like it Another one off the list TTBLNSL TFTC/TFTH/TFBUH - British Meat [^]
Something special or unusual goes here:Short walk for a quick find here although a tripped on the wire hidden in the grass. Be careful! The Generic Bit:It has been a couple of months since I was in South Australia and available for a Tuesday trek with some others of our Puzzle Solving Group. [^] Today however was all about clearing some new caches that had popped up around the S.A. Sewer Rat's Nest whilst I was interstate. So I met her and Ttrogg at the Rat's nest and set of in search of some newer caches, to complete the nearby meat trail and anything else we were close too. **SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. - BOING*****Thanks BritishMeat for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.
Clocking up cache finds for the September Wheel of Challenges, whilst working toward other challenge goals and milestones!
After spending far more time than one should at The Meat Trail - SMILE cache, and the CO graciously coming to my rescue to help they offered to take me to a few other caches of theirs. How could anyone decline a Geo gesture like that!
This cache hit the 90's nostalgia! Read the description

Loved how there was a number of different caches on this trail.
Out and about with my walking buddies on a nice autumn day, enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of the countryside while chasing a few caches. What can I say.... just living the dream

This was an enjoyable series and our main target for today. On Mt. Bikes we headed north collecting a fantastic range of caches. All hides were in great condition. Found with the Supa's. Thanks
Found after a DNF at the first cache in the series. Thanks BritishMeat for placing this trail. TFTC.
Found during a caching foray around Gawler for the afternoon before attending the Sandy Creek Sandybration event. Thanks for the cache BritishMeat!
First meat trail find. Watch out for the coil of wire. Thanks BritishMeat for the hide.
Today was Gawler Day. After doing all my chores I headed off to Gawler on the new road which makes the drive much shorter.
Had a long list of caches to tick off but a later than anticipated start coupled with some hideous hay fever meant I didn’t get as many finds as I’d hoped for. Just wasn’t having caching feels today.
I didn’t have any dnf though which was good and converted one prior frownie into a smile which was also good.
At the end of the day had some fab food at the very well patronized Geocaching day event. Not quite Seattle where I should have been today but still a fabulous event and was great to see so many fellow cachers. After tea found a final 3 caches with JJ52 and then took my pollen infested head home, still suffering the Wattle side effects the next day.
Another quick find TFTC British Meat

I remember this line when trains ran on it. I did get a pic of a train on October 16, 1993. The Explorer Train to the Balaklava Cup horse race. Engine 961 with the Purple and Yellow Explorer car set.
It poured with rain as i was taking the pic. Thankfully i was sheltering under the older bridge that was there then [the Gawler Bypass road, bridge].
Today this cache was found and it's log was signed at 14:46 on Sat 15 Aug 2020.
All is good and dry within the cache [^]

Finally… Sunday. I am excited, a full day of caching, wherever I want to go. I woke at 4.30am eager as, tempted but needed more kip. I then slept through to 7, simply refuse to set an alarm on the weekend, so much for the early start. Packed the car and headed north, woohoo. Low lying fog all over the low lands.
I started on Twartz rd then did the meat trail by push bike. Slipped through Gawler and hit the start of the Barossa Trail. I need a good bunch on the western end, and a smattering of missed ones in the middle. I still had a few misses, but chuffed at turning my previous frowns into smileys. The day finished on the bike at Jacobs Creek complex, when the sun decided to fade. It was time to head home for some pasta, wine and to log the days finds.
I tried a new technique today of recording personal notes rather than logging in the field (LITF) so save some daylight time during caching.
Thanks BritishMeat for this cache. The signs at the crossings still say watch for trains. 1986 you say, I guess you cant rush things!

Out for a morning of caching with The White Dog Gang, Freddo, Trail06, and Davidwazza.
All caches we found were in good condition and only a couple caused us any grief.

Another day caching out north with Doctor Owl, sushilord and SA Sewer Rats. It started out quite cool but by mid afternoon it was quite warm and I even worked up a sweat at one cache. [^] A fun day travelling on some great back roads with lots of beautiful scenery and plenty of interesting banter along the way.
We tackled the Meat Trail first before heading further north. All were reasonably quick finds with some interesting hides. [^]
Thanks for this series BritishMeat.
