21-Jul-24
Found it!!

27-Jun-24
**21,391**Thankfully we located a carpark very close by so was just a short walk to GZ less thankful was the fact that our first attempt was a dismal failure. As we had been more successful around the area, we decided to give it one more go before leaving the area. Ahh theres the tiny little blighter almost needed a magnifying glass for that one. Happy to call it a find and move one. TFTC

06-Mar-24
All good

15-Jan-24
Out with GeohoundandI doing a spot of shopping before she heads back to Otago (they don't have shops there) and a spot of caching on the way home. We came this way round for another look and today she walked straight to the cache.Had to sign in green pen because my other pens are in my geocaching bag.

02-Nov-23
Had a look around but couldnt find anything

02-Nov-23
Allok here, just passing and stopped to drink my takeaway coffee.

22-Jan-23
Allok here

14-Nov-22
Only tried to find this one once, but driven past many times wondering if I’d be able to find it…Decided today was the day so after a fortifying coffee from nearby Toasted, and yes, I’ll admit, using PAF, I finally found it. Tftc

04-Aug-22
Couldn't find it, coordinates seem wrong

05-Apr-22
Was hoping to collect this one for my daily cache... I knew it was going to be a tricky one but I did expect to eventually find it. Initially I checked around the power pole before reading the hint and therefore description and thought maybe "Bingo" referred to "BIN"! It made sense as I saw a number of comments talking about the coordinates being off. But who would hide a geocache on/in/under a smelly bin. I traced back to where I started and soon realised the water metre was just sitting there, above ground! Surely the "Ducks" were swimming inside the blue water metre?! Had a super good search inside it but nothing was spotted. Not really sure what to expect with this one, haha. Will be back, but probably not for a daily cache as I can't guarantee I'll find it :/

02-Mar-22
OK... this is now the last cache for the day and also my 9989th cache. Friday (4th March), I'm hoping my 10,000th will land on a virtual cache on Mnt Ruapehu. There will be joy, there will be celebrating with my caching buddy rustynz who has joined me on most of my milestones, there will be champagne, french fromages, grapes, a baguette, then staying the night in Ohakune. Next day is a planned walk to T-2, an old cache, which will mean a stay in the Totara hut overnight. Then much caching in Palmerston North.

So anyway, to this cache... I have been here before, I think the rail that hid this cache has gone, so expecting what I was expecting, I just made a methodical search and approach until I found the cache, co-ords a little out for me today, but happy to say I found the little bugger - again. Much easier when you know what to look for!! Cool. Thanks for the hide kirs and Tim.

09-Feb-22
Let's just say I've been here many times... I ended up asking for a clue from a previous finder, this narrowed greatly the search area but even with that it did take me a bit of time to find, soooo minuscule. TFTC Smile

14-Jan-22
Allok here

11-Jan-22
Checked several areas but no luck today. Nearby muggle decided to water his plants and started to watch my activity so decided to end my search.

30-Nov-21
O.M.G Finally!!! I am so stoked to finally have turned this into a smiley. Thanks to a PF for a small hint I managed to find it.

24-Nov-21
OMG SO HAPPY TO FINALLY GET THIS ONE!! So so clever, but would probably ly call it a super nano TCTC

15-Nov-21
Hmmmm could find anything... Will have to try again another day

29-Oct-21
On the way to the bus station I passed this previous DNF and decided to have another attempt. It was looking like another no luck but a quick PAF and a very quick response (thanks!) narrowed down my search area. Still took a few minutes to locate the tiny cache, and much longer to get the log back inside after signing. Thanks for the sneaky cache!

28-Oct-21
All good here

23-Oct-21
Not too sure where to look. Will be back again

27-Jun-21
A combination of rain, lots of muggles, and having no idea what I was looking for meant I wasn't able to find this one... oh well.

28-May-21
Last cache of the afternoon and a tricky one too. I had a quick look last time passing but never had a clue. A pointer from a previous finder definitely got me underway and at GZ this time I was soon ready to have a shot at the find. Soon had the container in hand and signed and replaced, I think the log was a new one too. Thanks for this tricky one, nice hide here.

A quick lunch today left me able to tie up a few loose ends at work and head back to my neck of the woods to do some further work related errands and other tasks. I did the route back via a few caches over my scheduled lunch time and after Lake Road sucked away most of my time in the daily crawl, I was glad to get off the main route from time to time. A few more caches found and starting to fill in my mind map of where the roads etc link together (and where the caches are of course), thanks to all COs for their efforts

19-May-21
Need a CO Check here please.

02-May-21
Second visit and still clueless... can’t figure out what ducks are.

21-Mar-21
No luck for me. I dnf the previous one as well. But I was looking on the other side of the park so not sure which time I was closer

26-Jan-21
Not often in this area but had an errand to run nearby and 3 geokids in tow so good caching opportunity Wink Had two hoes at this one today but no joy. Probably not helped by truckie parked up nearby having his loooong lunch then a nap so we couldn't go full throttle on our search....next time!

26-Jul-20
Thanks for replacing....hardest part was rolling log paper back up!

17-Jul-20
The ducks are back, both of them

09-Apr-20
Disabled as the ducks are on holiday

14-Mar-20
Glad that these 2 ducks found this cache today and were able to turn our frown upside down. Log is full and needs replacing.

14-Mar-20
I don't think I have ever been happier to turn a frown upside down. My 3rd visit here and this time Mrs J and I found the cache in the first place we looked. How on earth did we miss that on previous visits?!!

06-Oct-19
All good here, cache still in place

05-Oct-19
Despite being with a previous finder we had no luck finding this one.

05-Oct-19
Our second time here. We had a nudge and knew where to look and was with a previous finder but only found a hole where we were sure it should be but nothing in it. Can the CO check this one please?

04-Aug-19
Out to pick up a few caches with one half of KirsTim & yorkshirekiwi83. With the owner in toe and finding the previous duck yorkshirekiwi83 had the cache in hand before I was even able to get out of the car. Thanx for another great hide.

04-Aug-19
Out for the afternoon with KirsTim and Vamber, as one owned it and I had found a previous version this was a nice quick find. TFTC

28-Jul-19
I found the previous incarnation of this cache, do knew what I was in for. Out and about with Miss Three this morning, so we stopped here to look for the tiny container. Thanks!

28-May-19
We had done the previous version of this cache and had some memories of what was involved. All the same it took a little while to spot this little duck! Thanks.

08-May-19
In our early Gcing days this was our nemesis. Today it was altogether a different matter, kiwi having jumped out the car as scottie tried to get the GPS switched on. He was back with the log before the garmin had "warmed up". As speedily replaced, then on with the afternoon. TFTC

04-May-19
Saw this come out....but decided to wait till today to pick it up as would be in the vicinity for Glyn's event...
I just found a place to park....and there was a familiar looking person heading towards gz!
So I didn't even need a phone or pen....!
Then we saw someone else walking along towards us.
Good to meet you at last Al-Dre!
I remember coming about 4 times in vain to the original cache as it was so tricky...
At least we knew what to hunt for
this time.
Thanks KirsTim!

04-May-19
Found with Welsh and some others - good cache - could never find the first one.

TFTC

04-May-19
First day of duck shooting season is a good day to find this one. I remember the original near here and as we pulled up we spotted a few other likely cachers who were just replacing it. Seems lots of people had the same idea of finding this cache before the nearby event. Many thanks for this cache.

04-May-19
I thought I may aswell stop and collect this hide on the way to the nearby event. Turns out I was not alone in this thought process as suppernanny and Al-dre arrived right on my heels. Based on my experience of the earlier version of this hide I was pretty sure I knew what to look out for. Still, missed it on the first pass but came up trumps on the second. We were just putting things back when teamwelsh and TWS turned up. Right, off to the event! Cheers for the cache placement!

04-May-19
I decided to leave home extra early before attending G-2's event nearby to view his mythical workshop. This was the first cache on my circuit around this area. I had previously found the iteration prior to this one, so I had an idea what I was looking for. It took me longer to get out of my car due to the steady flow of traffic than it took me to locate the cache. This could be tricky if you don't know what you're looking for.

04-May-19
Teaming effort. Thanks for the cache.

29-Apr-19
Having found the previous iteration of this I was keen to get back but had a business appointment some 30Kms away at the time of publishing, placed a watch on it and then saw Alunb ‘s log and then the coords update and then decided to visit when I could, no one had been so I ended up getting an FTF which for me is rare, just as I was leaving Lisa turned up , sad for her as she had been there before.
Nice hide, well done!
Thanks.

29-Apr-19
After spotting this new cache earlier in the day. I kept my eye on it, as I had seen alunb DNF ... and wondered if I might get another chance to get there. Just before leaving work I noticed the co-ords updated and thought I have to give this a go... was thinking about leaving it for a daily find for my current streak. Anyway traffic was rather slow to say the least to drive around the corner from work. So by the time I got there, here was a familiar vehicle and G2 striding back to his car with the biggest grin. Congratuations!! 2TF is not too shabby in the scheme of things. Took ages to get the scroll to fit back in and then struggled to get it back in its hidey hole, but managed in the end. SL. TFTC.

29-Apr-19
Heading back home later in the day, and seeing the new coordinates, I decided to stop by and have another look. Well wouldn't you know, I found it in the first place I checked this time.
While I had widened my search earlier from the original coordinates, I hadn't given this side of the park enough effort despite having given the GZ a quick cursory glance. Oh well signed in as third, sneaky but clever hide, cheers
