A very clever cache. Lots of junk mail and hopefully no bills on board. A fave of course. Thanks divewombat.
Yes thats worthy of a favourite point from use. Clever hide. Out & about getting some caches today. Quick find. TFTC
Garys getting a build up of junk mail at the moment! Nice and creative cache!! TFTC!!
Found with my favs Bogonghazy and Geo dog. Finally getting around to log. Thanks divewombat for placing the geocache fav from me
TFTC - In the area with HeliKelli for a getaway and located the cache - Nothing but junk mail
Its true, Gary doesnt get any bills, but he sure does get a lot of political flyers!!Staying in Daylesford with Kploz for some annual leave and placing a few smilies on our geo maps. This one we targeted due to the high number of favourite point and its clear to see why Gary has a few fans. We were able to leave our calling card for Gary to say we had visited.
Out and about for a few caches and this was the next stop. After a bit of checking, the right one was found and then set about getting it open. Looked at the wrong 'line' to start with, but after correcting that, the cache was soon open and the log in hand. Signed that, then returned everything as found and was soon on my way. Thanks divewombat....cache all good. Fav point added.
Thanks Gary. Great idea for a cache that hopefully the locals dont investigate. But its all in good fun. Well done and thanks for bringing me here.
I only saw the name on the letter box after I had seen the box inside. Didn't know there were locks with letters. TFTC
Interesting history, thanks for sharing. Garys mailbox blends in well, very clever. TFTC
On way to Daylesford for a short break thanks to daughters. This was one of a couple of caches we found on our way there. Thanks so much to divewombat for placing this terrific cache. Gary's bills paid today!regardskbucky
What a nice stop this was!Great cache and we saw it by chance on our map! Thanks for the stop and creative placement We stopped as part of our trip back to Canberra from Geelong/Ballarat
Driving past here after leaving Daylesford and Baristayan told me there was a worthy stop fast approaching.Im so glad we pulled over to the side of the road to go and inspect the mail! Cool spot even without a cache, but this was just the cherry on top of the cream on top of the icing on top of the sponge cake. Such a brilliant idea, and what a marvellous family historythanks!
Currently staying at the timeshare resort in Kyneton and after a few days of Family engagements, today we had a free day and headed to Creswick stopping here along the way to locate this cache. It wasn't long before we spotted the right mailbox and after a read of the description we were soon signing the log. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find on our travels. TNLNSL.
Found it...how fun. Have done a few like this and they are always super fun. Tftc
Found It.........With Mr H_3's holidays fast running out we decided to have a caching road trip. After pulling up at GZ and a quick scan of the page we had the combination and the cache in hand. So with the log signed we moved onto the next one. Thanks The divewombat for the cache. P.S. we are giving it a fav point
Found with DSD on a road trip through Victoria on our way to the SA border, with an amended route due to the bushfires. Accidentally missed the cache, but only by 300m so did a quick u-turn, was worth it for this one! A fun cache, have seen a few of these in rural places before! I should have actually looked at the lock closely before googling certain numbers, oops. Once I looked at it though, I quickly worked out what the combo was going to be!Thanks for the cache!
One of my favorite caches, very clever hide this definitely gets a favorite point from me.T4TC
One our way TEMBO! and I visited the cache "Gary only ever gets bills in the mail". and signed the logbook. There are some nice letterboxes to See.Thanks to divewombat for hiding and maintaining the cache.T4TC Filser1
Our niece's partner's mother had gone into palliative care in Daylesford, and our niece's partner had planned to head out and see her by public transport from Brunswick. We had nothing on the calendar for today, so we offered to take them there and back. We also went out to lunch as it was his birthday today, so it was a great day. While he was in the hospital visiting his mother, we took the opportunity to take a short drive and find a cache. We arrived at GZ and wandered around, looking for the appropriate container from all those offered.Soon, we spied a pun and knew we had our cache; how to get in? That was pretty obvious.Once entry was gained, we noticed that the local junk mail delivery service thinks Gary must want all the junk mail. We were about to remove it when we spied a redback and decided that would not be a smart idea, mainly as I am arachnophobic. The cache is in excellent condition.Thank you for this Traditional divewombat.
Nice one Gary! Few Easter eggs located, then awkwardly found the geocache as it felt like private property haha
Second day, Benalla to Ballarat. Beautiful start of the day, lots of caches and labs. Thanks to all the CO for their hides. J+J.au

This was great fun, although you do tend to scrounge around in other peoples private stuff, searching.Didnt take too long to work things out.A definite favourite from us.TFTC
Quickly found the cache after admiring the boxes, and although the code was obvious, do you think we could get it open. Finally we had success and happily signed the log. Tftc
On our way home from the Woodend entomology expo I was planning our route based on which cashes I wanted to grab. When I saw how many favourite points this had I knew we'd have to stop! Very fun hide, loved how well disguised it was. Log signed and returned. TFTC!
I had been at Daylesford for the day volunteering on the railway that operates there. It was late in the day by the time I was heading for home... but still had enough time for a cache or two along the way. I stopped off for this one... mainly because it had lots of Favourite Points.
Wandered the length of the letterboxes without being able to pick Gary's... walking back behind them all, it was quite obvious which one was the target. It didn't take long to find my my way in and sign the log. I did note that the name of the caches isn't quite right... the junk mail deliverers are dutifully putting their unwanted rubbish in the slot for Gary!
Thanks **divewombat** for a fun little cache.

This cache was one found on a trip away with Flintstone's for 4 days. We had the Geotour in Ballarat as our target, and made our way as far as Queenscliff.
Ballarat caching was a joy, and with the tour, we saw many lovely and interesting locations as well as stopping for many other caches as we passed. Lots of little walks helped with the colder first few days as well as being quite scenic.
A change of weather and scenery towards Queenscliff but the coast was a great place to visit with plenty to do and see. As always, more to do than there was time for, will just have to return one day! Thank you for your cache!
Poor Gary, his got lots of yunk mail now too! Cool cache, glad we stopped!

While heading back to Ballarat from Woodend, we made a pit stop at this cache, boasting numerous favorite points. At first, I thought it might be tucked away in a similar-looking letterbox, almost identical to one I'd encountered before. Yet, I soon realized my mistake and spotted the real letterbox, which was pretty unmistakable. The container was brimming with goodies. Signed the log and put everything back. TFTC
I was only looking for 2 caches today to take me to 1,000 finds!! This was one of the two
It brought back memories of when we lived at Cobaw. Our mailbox was 1km away.
Pulled up here & started looking at the mailboxes. As a ute pulled over, I was trying to look natural....... inspecting mailboxes on a Sunday afternoon was never going to blend in I looked up & smiled. The driver shouted "Are you Geocaching?" Good call.........
Many thanks for the story - I loved it and the cache

This was the cache Mrs Cogs really wanted to get on our trip today.
Sure is enough letterboxes. Correct one was soon located and the correct combination was entered and before we knew it we were in. Log was signed and replaced and letterbox locked.
This brought back memories to me as I lived in rural NSW and QLD for over thirty years.
TFTC and making Mrs Cogs day.

On our way from Bendigo to Ledgerder national park we thought we would stop for a few caches in Malmesbury and Daylesford on our way.
What a fantastic cache and some excellent letter boxes

Excellent unusual hide, thanks for bringing us here. We even spotted an echidna en route! Thanks for the great cache
Thanks divewombat for placing this cache and contributing to this great game. Found after picking sister up from Daylesford with the trade off that we find at least one cache…ticked that box, great hide! Happy trails, Deanside
way in Ballarat for a few days with Happy pants. Now the Geo tour has been conquered, we have the opportunity to grab some other caches around the area.
This was one of the hides we found, which I gave a fav, for being something different.
Thanks for placing this hide and doing the maintenance, so we can make this find.

A Sautrday Caching trip. After other plans were cancelled
I have found many Letterboxes that are owned by a Mr or Mrs G O Cache. And they are all cool. This included.
A couple of fumbles with the lock but I was soon into the log book.
Happy to say, no bills were seen in the letterbox today

Thanks for the great D'cacher history story and for this great cache on a beautiful autumnal day
Missed the key letter at first, so considered other codes unnecessarily. Revisited the letters and found what I needed.
Pulled over for this find and the CO pops up from around the corner. Had a lovely chat, located and retrieved cache, log signed and returned. Divewombat, lovely to meet you, thanks for the hot tips on some caches in Ballarat to add to my list
Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73 and youban on our Ballarat Geotour trip down south! - Nice find here! Thanks divewombat!
Traveling with Tankengine and Youban to Ballarat for a couple of days to do the GeoTour there.
This cache: That was pretty cool. Funny that it really should have been a letterbox cache rather than a trad, but it’s still cool. Loved the other mailbox down the row a little. Tftc!!!

Found the right box but could not get the lock open using any combination I could think of, then some threatened to call the police as they believed I was stealing mail....no smiles from me sorry!
A trip to check out all the awesome places in eastern Victoria. TFTC.
Great cache, access and story. Very enjoyable.

I’ve never seen a combination lock like this before. How cool .
I enjoyed reading about Gary’s family history. They certainly didn’t have it easy back in the day, but their lives were perhaps a little less stressful and much simpler then now days.

Found while out enjoying a morning of garage sales in the area. Dropped off a trackable that I've had and forgotten about. My first cache find in quite a while.

Find this last weekend with Steel. As we were replacing it the cache owner drove by and we had a lovely chat. It was my first time running into a cache owner while caching ️ tftc
Cache #7 of the all about me week.
On my way to Hepburn Springs for a couple of days of R&R.
First attempt had the right code but padlock wouldnt open. So onto another code, nope.. finally back to my original code and this time I had everything aligned correctly and I had access to the log book.
Logbook signed, cache returned and all ready for the next finder.
How could I not give this a favourite point. Thankyou divewombat a great cache

While driving to Ballarat I thought I’d pick this cache up and also picked up a TB to move to a new home
What fun to find this eclectic collection of country mail boxes! The container was easily accessed and we SL at 10.30am Left: koala TB for further travels. A fine day to be going on a road trip for an extra looong weekend. #9059 TFTC divewombat
Thanks for the cache, divewombat. I've not seen a cache like this before and I enjoyed it! SL TN LN. Everything in good condition. The cache would be easier to access if the rain wasn't pouring down, but what can you do? It's a good thing we can run into the bus shelter and open the inner container. Unfortunately the hoped for penguin TB was not in the cache. Happy caching!
Found this today while out and about with a lovely friend of mine. New to Geocaching but really enjoyed this one. Can see A lot of thought has gone into this, well done to the owner. Thanks
Found and signed with dalerious on our way home from a weekend in Ballarat .
We loved reading the story behind this cache. You told the story so well.
Had no trouble accessing the log, and we even took the junk mail to dispose of responsibly.
Thank you divewombat .

After kayaking in Winters Swamp Saturday, and a CITO in the rain Sunday, this was the last cache saught on our way home from a wet and dirty weekend in Ballarat.
Gary must be a common name among geocachers because this is the 2nd traditional letterbox for Gary I have gone looking for. The first one (GCV48K) was a pesky D1/T1 cache that left an embarrassing blue DNF on my map until I returned much later with catnap777 at my side to put it right. With my charming good luck charm beside me still, there was no such trouble at this row of mailboxes. [^]
Cat' and I were soon able to write our names in this log and clear some of Gary's junk mail for him.
TFTC divewombat. Cache and contents in good condition.

On my way to a weekend accommodated camp celebrating Christmas in July. This was a quick stop enroute to admire the location and quickly spot the cache home. It is indeed all in the name!
