Found this cache whilst on our two month adventure throughout central Australia and remote parts of WA.We spent last night camped here. With one other group nearby we pretended to be looking in the dunes as we found this cache. Found the cache under some tumbleweed. Thanks to all the COs for adding to our adventure. TFTC ??

Many thanks to sylken for replacing and relocating the missing cache. I was hoping to travel the Simpson later in the year for maintenance and to enjoy another trip across the desert. It is maintenance like yours and fellow geocachers that helps COs keep these remote area caches active!

We found this cache as part of a fantastic 3 week camping trip including the Simpson Desert, Coober Pedy, Farina, and Arkaroola.
We travelled with 11 other family members and five vehicles in all and had the most amazing adventure.
GZ was the only sizable bush in the vicinity and had obviously been used as a toilet quite frequently. With 13 pairs of eyes having a good look for the cache we still came up empty handed as did a previous cacher.
We replaced the cache nearby, but at a much smaller bush which won’t be giving anyone toilet cover for a few more years yet
We put in a log book, pencil and some swag and the cache hint still applies.
If the CO doesn’t approve please feel free to delete this log.
Many thanks for the hide FeatherWaite

We were disappointed not to find this cache but to be honest we didn’t have a great look aslots of people have been using the bush as a toilet, absolutely disgusting!

Found on a trip north that was an epic adventure that took in the Birdsville Track, The Big Red Bash, crossing the Simpson Desert, and travelling part of the Binns Track to Alice Springs then home down the Stuart Highway.

Logging this one as a beta-tester. The cache was placed during an extended trip with FeatherWaite, Freddo, Team Waldron and a couple of non-caching friends that saw us travel from Adelaide to Coober Pedy, through the Painted Desert to Oodnadatta, then on to Dalhousie and Mount Dare, before crossing the Simpson Desert to Birdsville and then back down to Adelaide via Marree and the Flinders Ranges.
We had pretty good weather, with moderately warm days and cool nights, but plenty of flies!
It was great to be able to find some remote caches in some really interesting and scenic locations.
Thanks FeatherWaite for the cache.

To paraphrase Waldron, Normally I would wait for a few more finds before logging as a beta tester but given the remoteness and Covid restricting the number of travellers I'm logging now. Cache was placed over 12 months ago and it might be another 12 months or even more before there's another finder.
Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

Due to COVID restrictions the event is now postponed to early October 2021. Check out the event page and our website for new details. We would love to see you at this four day event. Mega event sponsored by Wattle Range Council, Geocaching.com and many other supporters. Lots of caches to find with two classic geo art trails including the famous animated bottle and glass.

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

What a lovely place to come back to. Like the sign says, what is the history of this beautiful specimen and what of its past? So many questions to ponder as you stand in the magnificent place and presence. A surprise FTF out here in the desert. Thanks for that.
I visited GCKJP1 Traditional Cache Under the shade of the Coolibah Tree back in 2007 and my photos of the site look remarkably similar. I have posted a couple of the tree from similar angles for comparisons.
I can't wait to come back - though I don't want it to be a 13 year gap for the next visit.
This cache was found as part of an EPIC TRIP! to cross the Simpson Desert in July 2020. We crossed the desert without incident thanks to the smooth expert driving of H423L. There were many rocks, water holes, railway sidings and big dunes. Of course there was this cache too. The nights were clear and the stars were bright.
Thanks to FeatherWaite and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

Even after reading the sign I was none the wiser on how this solitary gum tree came to be. A nice spot for a bit of morning tea along with a joint *FTF* find somewhere in the desert. TFTC
