Today is the second day of my Three Corners tour, visiting all three of Queensland's remote western corners over 12 days. After a long drive from Brisbane yesterday, I stretched my legs at the local Parkrun in Charleville. After getting cleaned up, we hit the road, bound for Windorah. At Quilpie, we stopped for a refreshment aka a lovely cold Schooner of beer on the top verandah of the pub. From the verandah, we could see the Railway Station and the end of the line. One of the crew's father was an engineer and manager in Qld Rail, so he shared a few stories about the "end of the line". When we were done, I wandered over and took a few photos and found the cache. The cache was found in good order, though the Railway Station is falling into disrepair regrettably. Many thanks O319Pete#7,977 at [11:30]
Nice easy find. The log book is full but I did not have a spare one to place in the cache. TNLN, T4TC.Cheers, Ric
Continuing on with my well earned 2 week break and after staying in Rochester, Hay, White Cliffs, Cunamulla, then Toompine for the night (after my very big detour due to lots of road closures) its time to head to Charleville via Quilpie. Some more caches that will break up the drive nicely and people often wonder why it takes me so long to get from A to B.The scenery never gets old for me around her and I love outback Queensland.Happy to not be towing the van as I can pull over anywhere I want.I have stayed in Quilpie before and there a few more caches here now.So a stop at the bakery and museum was called for then I was on my way.Lots of art to stop and look at as well.Well it is definitely looks like the end of the line as the station has been closed even or freight. Thanks O319 & Quilpie Information Centre TFTC.

First time visitor to Quilpie. My traveling companions were more than happy for me to grab all the caches here but after a DNF at the welcome sign, I decided to limit my caches to two and we'd grab a bite to eat. This was my first stop. After visiting the bakery and finding all the pies were sold and getting a warm version from the freezer would be problematic, our little group ventured to the very busy cafe down the road. Luckily our timing was just before a small bus load of audio technicians (heading to the Big Bash) arrived. After a short wait, had a feed then headed on our way. Thanks to O319 & the Quilpie Information Center et all for highlighting Quilpie.
Found after a quick search, staying at The Brick hotel on the way back to Melbourne from Birdsville. Thanks.
We found your cache today 7 June 2024 10:05am , while enjoying another day in our beautiful countryside. TFTC O319
I had a search for 8 caches this afternoon and I got 6 of them. This was the last one for the day. I was going to have a go at this one about 2 years ago but there were too many people around that day so I left it for another day and this was it. I had decided to stop here at a motel because it was to wet to camp. That is the reason I was able to do these. One day I might be able to get the other two, even though I am sure 1 is gone. Also the earth cache will be targeted. Thanks for all of the caches that have been put out in this town.

Woo hoo!!! Finally made it to my first ever QOGM, was so sad to have missed the earlier ones, but this one was great! Loved the musters and the creative activities. Sadly its now time to head back home. Taking a bit of a roundabout way to pick up a couple of extra counties; Barcoo, Quilpie and Bulloo that we missed on previous travels. So glad that we have made the trip it has been such an incredible adventure, full of amazing scenery and incredible wildlife! Great to be out travelling the countryside again with GLISS! Signed as G! NRC or our individual names. Thanks to everyone who has placed caches and enabled this wonderful adventure! It will certainly be one i will remember for many years. Thanks for the cache!
No trains today. No i either! Pic Good to see the safety eye and shower still operate.

QOGM 2023 Longreach Day 10. Augathalla Day. Travel from Quilpie to Augathalla via Charleville. Fitzy_1965 and Albida33 are on our trip in early spring to Longreach. After a long day trip yesterday, today was a travel day back to Charleville where we did a bit of shopping and then on to Augathalla before completing the Morven Triangle for Fitzy and then ending with an evening in the pub at Augathalla watching some sort of sport on TV. Not much caching for me today.I had kept this cache in reserve for today. After a few issues around town, this one went smoothly and was found quickly enough we managed to get to the bakery for a snack before heading off. Thanks for the cache O31944137.1 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2016 Sun Moon A#341**Albida**

Found during our Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure - a 33 day epic tour of Northern NSW and Outback Queensland finding many caches, attending great events and catching up with awesome Cachers along the way.Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure Day 9. Well the trip was well and truly underway. I have never been to a QOGM before, and since this was the last one I decided to head up there for the fun. Having basically cleaned out the Charleville region we are now heading to Quilpie for a few days. A new County for me Today we headed up to Adavale and Lake Dartmouth. This was the next find of the day. A quick find once at GZ. Signed the log, usually as F65 A33, replaced the cache as found, then we continued on our journey. Thanks O319 !!
Picking up the town caches, looked like a high smuggle spot from afar but not at all!

Firstly I will appologise for the boiler plate log. This does not take away from all the effort that the QOGM placement team and other geocachers have taken to ensure that we have a fantastic QOGM.
This log covers from around the 20th September to the final day of QOGM the 2nd of October, 2022. We attended many events and found untold nuimbers of caches that included puzzles, multi's, Whereigo's and AL's. We made new friends and caught up with old friends, both locals and geocachers. The meals that we had at two of the events where out of this world, such that we cannot give them a star rating as we do not have enough stars. At the final event their was so many prizes, we feel that you whould have been very unlucky to leave this event without something. This year we were not able to team up with our usual cohorts and were invited to join another group who were fun, enthursatic and well organised. It was very different for us to not be the driver. We look forward to hopefully attending next years QOGM in Longreach. SL TFTC

At QOGM 2022 with Temingi
Now that the festivities are over ...
And we are staying another night ...
But all the Charleville caches have now been found
Taking a drive out to Quilpie, the closest block of caches Temingi hasn't found.
Started the new lab o the way in
And finished that, before looking for this one
Wandered over from the park, and checked a few spots before the prize was located.
All good ... now to finish the run around town.
Thanks for the cache.

Sometimes I miss the simpler times. When it was just four of us looking for a place to keep out of the wind and the rain. Things were worse then. But still simpler.
Happy to be in Quilpie and have a full tank of petrol. Shame there's no internet here today as they are working on the tower. Thanks for the cache
Day 3 of my outback travels and the continuation of my Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster for 2022. As a continuation from last year’s event and a very successful team collaboration of Willis007, Jacs Team, Triple turmoil and myself; we continued with the team again for this year. We have worked hard in getting to a point where we can just jump in a car, go, and have fun for the day. There are lots of laughs and repetitive jokes seems to be the call for each day.
Today was a drive to Cooladdi for an event and then a drive to Windorah via Quilpie. Yep a 12 hour day of driving, collecting some LGA’s and a few caches along the way. We left the event and set off on our mission. Ticked off a few personal goals along the way; a couple of extra LGA’s, another couple of earth caches and a few extra caches in the haul. With time pushing we just made it back in time for the last dinner bell at the pub.
Thanks for the caches and the travels out here today.

Is this an abandoned station now? If it is it was a good thing as we could explore without being noticed, except for the muggles living across the tracks that we could here speaking and moving around.
We checked the usual spot where these caches are placed and found nothing, then suddenly an interesting spot was noticed and sure enough there it was
Thanks O319.

Travelling homeward bound to Busselton from the Townsville Mega, how lost can we get?
It’s been 2 months since the CacheQld mega and we are still in Queensland, that’s still a long way to go to get home to WA
But the fun bit is, finding all these geocaches along the way.
No matter where we park our caravan for the night, it’s always an exciting day to see this great country through the eyes of the local geocachers.
Thanks to all the COs for showing us your favourite spots along the way.

Slightly put off by all the warning signs not to trespass onto Railway property and that high viz vest must be worn from this point forward. We tried from the other end of the building and accessed from the platform where there were no such signs. A nice quick find with the clear hint. TFTC O319
