Just got finished touring the theatre and the house. Got the information needed. Took photos of one of the grape vine bunches, inside the theatre, and Lincolns place of passing. Will post photos also. Gotta get back on the bus now. Will post and email after all these tiring guided tours.
Found it during a nice walk around town this afternoon with Scarlett03.
We had stopped by last night but found nothing but the answer to the first question. It took a lot of GOOGLE work to find the rest. We stopped by today once again but the museum was closed for a Matinee performance and the Petersen House was packed with people. I'm still not sure where the information is to be had on site, but we've sent along the answers anyway.
Cheers,
Bluelamb03

Love all the history in DC and the virtuals that point out the most interesting tidbits. Great fun! TFTC!!
Visited DC on a hot and sunny afternoon and tried to clean up the city, by converting all the ghosts to smilies. Had a long walk around the mall and after 5h and several miles walk, I had visited 22 ghosts. All great places . TFTC

Came down on the SJ Outdoor Club bus trip. Visited Arlington Cemetery and toured some of the area north of the National Mall. Great day with a great group. TFTC
We caught a ride to Washington DC with the Outdoor Club of South Jersey and spent the day scouting caches in town after visiting Arlington National Cemetery. We signed in as SJGDC. (South Jersey Geocaching DC)
We just about broke our legs running back and forth across the street trying to get the needed info!
We did meet the awesome Park Ranger Cole, who was a tremendous help.
So much tragedy and sadness connected to the fateful events here...
Thanks for the history and the virtual. Email sent.

Took the bus trip to Washington DC with the Outdoor Club of South Jersey and did some sightseeing through DC including a metro trip over to Arlington National Cemetery. We signed in as SJGDC. Staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant.
Now this is history at it's best. We begin our trip here and then followed John Wilkes Booth escape route into Virginia. Awesome trip. On a side, we also made our way to the alley behind the theater where John Wilkes Booth jumped on his waiting horse. Thanks!!!!!! Emailing required information shortly.
On a bus trip with the SJ Outdoor Club today. Lot's of explorations and caching. Answers coming via our group leaders BlueSky&pygmypop and or Team Freeman. Thanks for bringing us here and the great write-up!
My nongeocaching hubby and I were invited to spend 4 days in DC with my son and daughter-in-law who was going there to attend a convention. I've been to DC a few times but that was before caching so caching was my mission for this trip. We had just arrived in town and it was pouring rain. We were staying close by so we took a walk around the area anyway. This was one of the must see areas. Thanks for bringing us here.
Another fun day caching in the area. Found with bulldawgfan, and aliadd. Answers sent to owner. TFTC
Out and about in DC on day two of a fantastic caching weekend. This was not on my original list, but what the heck, I'm here! So, I wandered around, made some notes, and was getting a little frustrated. Then, I headed into the souvenir shop, and ran into to two very friendly tour guides. After a little bit of chatting, and since they couldn't really help me, they offered up an extra ticket to the theater.
So, I got a chance to visit someplace I had never been, but always wanted to go, and get my answers along the way. Fantastic! Love this bit of history, and the story.

On a day trip to Washington DC with Stfu, Decer, Madhauler, Tuma and GotLost4. We went by "Assault Washington", for short we signed as AW. We ended up get 6 States, 8 different cache type and many Virtuals. Oh yeah, I also hit 5K! Very busy area, with the tours. Thanks for the virtual.
I just arrived in D.C. for the weekend earlier today. Found myself near Ford's Theater when my son begged us to buy him a tee at the Hard Rock.
We really enjoyed touring the Ford theater and learned a lot about the history of the area. Thanks and we will send in the answers soon.
In DC for a school field trip and finding a few virtuals. We're staying near Ford's Theatre, so we stopped there today. It was a gorgeous fall day and we enjoyed learning about the history here, especially since we live in Spencer County, Indiana, which is where Lincoln spent his boyhood years. In fact, we live just a few miles from Lincoln State Park and the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial. Answers emailed and a picture attached. Thanks for the virtual!
So cool to see these places actually exist and are still there. Enjoyed getting out to see it. TFTVC.
The tour was worth the time and probably required to get to the bottom of the questions required by the cache. Thanks Duc996.

After many virtuals we wandered up to the Hard Rock Café for an early Dinner. Afterwards this virtual was too close and interesting to miss. Gathered the info and sent to CO. Nice walk together with my mom.. (team hornseth). We went up and got this one on our way to the capital. I have included a picture of the guard that helped us since nothing was open.

Despite the Government shutdown in progress, I made my way over here to Ford's Theater. The first and third answers were easy to find. The third one was a bit of a challenge. The very helpful woman inside the theater lobby told me to ask her friend (and civilian-dressed National Park employee) across the street next door to the Petersen House museum. All three employees standing near the "tower of Lincoln books" were intrigued that I was asking, and one of them had heard the question before and knew the answer. We were ready to leave, when she asked if we wanted to see the museum! Boy are we glad we did! Very fascinating (I love Lincoln stuff, being from Illinois.) There is also a temporary exhibit about the letters to Matthew Shepherd's parents that was quite moving as well. A must see!

On a tour of the East Coast of the United States here at the Ford Theatre came over. Unfortunately, because of the shutdowns, the museum was not open. We had not much time. The answers I've sent a few days ago.
This place is steeped in history. Previously, I had not heard of the story. Caching show always interesting and historical places.

I visited the site late the previous night, but it wasn't until a chance visit the following day when the gift shop was open, not the museum (still due to the government shutdown) that I sourced all the answers. Very interesting. I will send an email with details. Clever cache name too. TFTC duc996.
Not so easy to find the answers for this virtual during the shutdown, because the museum was closed.
But we asked some people of the museum shop and the guides from the Bustour. They could help us .
We sent the answers to the cacheowner.
Many thanks for this very interesting virtual.

Huddelchen and I visited Washington D. C. during our honeymoon. We made a three weeks tour through some eastern states of the USA and also have visited Canada (Québec and Ontario). We had some problems with this cache, it wasn't so easy as it seems to be. Because of the gouvernment shutdown the Petersen House was closed. But we asked in the museum shop nearby, they helped us with our answers (so special thanks to them!!!). Amn Email with the answers has been sent to the owner.
Thanks a lot for this interesting virtual cache, it was fun to solve the questions with the help of the friendly staff of the museum shop nearby.

This was a quick visit. It was awesome to go through the Fords Theatre. The box was open today so I was able to get a up close look at where Lincoln sat. The guard at Theatre quickly pointed me to the information I needed. He said Geocachers come by all the time.
Great day ( Thursday ) in late August to check out Fords Theatre. Very few people touring the museum and no one touring the Peterson house. So, we took our time and read/watched everything. We really enjoyed the Gettysburg address narated by Tom Brokaw and the 4 ex Presidents. TFTC. Number 100 for me and my August 22nd souvenir.
Great place to visit! Attended an event at the education center across the street today. Will send answers via email. TFTC!
Heading to the East Coast and then north in our RV, grabbing assorted caches along the way. A special thanks to all the cache owners that make this hobby possible. Thanks for the fun, caches and hides. All logs marked with a circled "GB". Today was a special day we rode the Metro into DC and walked way to many miles in the processing of grabbing 20 Virtuals and 7 Earthcaches. If any answers are required they are or will be messaged to the appropriate CO.
My first cache in Washington DC, what a great city. This was also our first stop as it was closest to our hotel. As an English person, I must admit I didn't know much about Lincoln's assassination. I do now. Fascinating stuff, thanks for the cache!
"Found" this one! This is one of my favorite places in the country, ill be emailing the answers this afternoon TFTC

Spent a wonderful week in Washington DC enjoying the sights. Squeezed in just a few virtual caches and this was a great one. Thank you for keeping it up and leading us to a great spot! Visiting from San Diego, CA
I am in the area from Savannah Georgia for work and of course I remembered my G P S'r so that I could feed this addition of Geo Caching. The coordinates for this cache were accurate and it did not take me too long to have the needed information or log in hand, depending on the type of cache. Thanks for putting this together and for bringing me to this area.
I came into the area for the weekend to keep the streak alive and visit friends. It is always nice to be in fresh geo caching territory turning icons in to smiles! Remember, it is all about the miles and the smiles. ~TFTC

11736 19:24:00 Spent the first part of the day grabbing some challenge caches and then the latter part wandering round DC again. Grabbed quite a lot of virtuals (there aren't many back home in England, so it's nice to be able to get some when you get the chance). This is a really tough one if you aren't American as it seems to assume you will know American history... TFTC
Cowboy Posse was here (Reeka42, LittleUn, and Kriffer, as well as me, of course); we needed ANOTHER potty break and of course, we needed a cache in Maryland.
We're on a round about tour of the eastern states trying to hit as many as possible. Total (hit or expected to hit) are: ON, NY, PA, MD, WV, DC, DE, NJ, CT, RI, MA, NH, ME, VT, and Quebec. With some duplicate not mentioned, of course. :) It's a long driving week, especially since 3 days will be in VT and only the one day from VT => QC => ON => MI of 700 miles.

Came to DC from western Maryland with lpyankeefan, tazscouter, legoladz to meet up with a group from southern Maryland in order to attend the WWFM Event. The group also managed to find many other caches including many terrific Virtuals and Earthcaches while in the area. Had a great day walking from cache to cache while taking in everything this great city has to offer.

It was a freezing day in DC today but with family in town, we went to DC see the sights. We stopped by Fords and walked up to Zombie Coffee for some warmth. Walked back down to the Smithsonian and then over to the old post office. Over all a good day in DC even though the wind brought the temp down to like 20.

I actually visited this site last summer with the intention of making the find but neer got around to logging it. Today I had a few hours to spare in DC so I came by and explored it again. I remember first learning the history of what happened here in elementary school and then learning more about all the events surrounding it as an adult. TFTC and for bringing me here! Last stop for a fun filled weekend! Barely was able to fit this in my schedule, but decided this was a must visit.
We were at the location for celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Broadway opening of Our Town. The evening included a short film about the play’s enduring power, selections read from Thornton Wilder’s works and letters, and the presentation of The Thornton Wilder Society’s annual Thornton Wilder Prize on stage at Ford’s Theatre.
We took advantage of the event to search for the answers to this virtual. It took awhile but I think we got all the answers.

When I set out to this one, I had no idea this was where I would end up. Very cool. Thank you.
I always wondered if 'that' theatre was still standing, and quite by accident (well, I was chasing the cache so not totally accidentally) I discovered that it was!
Make sure you. Go inside the shop across the road, their massive sculpture on books on the subject. Was amazing!

Cycled by here on my trip around DC. Not very busy around here in the mid-morning. I ran into some muggles who didn't recognize the location and were curious why I was taking pictures. Got some help with the questions from one of the tour guides.
Had wandered past here yesterday and geoson told us what this place was and why it was American history. Flicked on the GPS and saw it was a virtual but knew we would be back today.

Last for today, the battery on my PDA went flat, it is quite sick these days. There were lots of people about, and all sorts of things closed being worked on. A poignant reminder of yet more history in DC. Thanks.

Found by Mary & David from Melbourne, Australia, at 1505. We had some spare time on the first afternoon of our 'Historic East' tour so took a walk along the eastern end of The Mall. This was our fourth stop on the way back to our hotel. Strange to be in this notorious spot after learning a little about it many years ago. Now we can fill in more of the details. Our thanks indeed to Duc996.
