Came back again today. Spend good one hour and half yesterday. Tried again today for over an hour. Sad to leave with a DNF with DeafCat, Deafphantom and DutchAus
Had a good look at 2 different elevations. But I left my stick for poking holes down in the car and wasn't going back for it.
We are exploring the outback shires on our way to QOGM in Cunnamulla.

Full time nomads since 2013. Still tootling around the country trying to avoid Covid hotspots.
We arrived in Quilpie just after lunch today and settled into the airconditioning as it was a little warmer today than we have been experiencing. About 3.30 we decided to head over to this cache to claim a smilie for today. This is our 2nd visit here as we have previously been here for the EC on another visit.
Just had to find the right elevation today then the log was signed and returned.

TFTC. I enjoyed the walk and the search. Thankfully the other posts led me to the approx 12m off GZ. The views at the top are brilliant too. Any idea who/what happened to James, Richard and Jamie Johnson? Beautiful inscription on the Plaque. We're here for the QLD Masters Golf Thanks Quilpie for a great stay. Next stop Blackall.
After an exhaustive search found at ...493 / ...487
Didn’t have a pen to sign but I’ll post a picture.
It’s kept me late but I got it.

TFTC finally found thanks to a much earlier posting advising of correct coordinates.
Last time I was here I completed an earth cache about the origin of Baldy and his mate close by. I wondered why there was not a traditional cache here as well. Someone had the same idea because now there is. Great spot for a cache.
Day 5 of of a Queensland road trip with EatSleepCacheRepeat and JACS Team - Big day of driving today - Charleville to Cunnamulla via Quilpie and Targmomindah. Just collecting any cache that got in our way.
I was not convinced we would find this cache, but my companions did not give up so easily. TFTC!

This cache was on the list for us to collect while passing through on Day 5 of our geotrip to outback QLD. We weren’t sure if we would find this one, but a hint in a previous log gave us the right level, then a quick find was made! TFTC
Coords our, but check one of the first logs for corrected and a hint. Pleased to say this is still very much in play.
We enjoyed the variety of caching. Good hides and a little challenging. Our thanks to 1muggle for placing this cache and enhancing our enjoyment of the area.
What a pity! The four of us looked for ages but had to finally give up.
Great views - even in the rain!!

I so wanted to find this one. Such a great spot. The compass just wouldn't settle but I was sure I was in the right spot.
Ended up wasting too much time on this. Such a shame as I probably won't get another chance.

We found a large echidna in his freshly dug burrow but couldn't put a smiley on this one today. Thanks for the chalknge.
I decided to take a break from cold Adelaide and head north to warmer climes for a month or so. The (loose) plan is to travel up to Innamincka then into western and central Queensland camping along the way. Where I go and how far north I get will depend on how distracted I get along the way and how hot it gets.
Last night I camped at a great little spot south of Eromanga. From there it was on to Quilpie, Adavale, then half way up to Blackall, retracing some of my travels from a couple of years ago and finding some new caches that had been put out since.
I had walked up Baldy Top for an earthcache on my last trip up here. I made this one harder than I needed to, thinking the cache would be at the top. When I got up there I then realised I needed to go down a bit. My GPS was jumping around a bit but something interesting caught my eye and I soon spotted the cache in its little hole nearby.
Thanks 1muggle for the cache.

Finished our trip to Adavale with enough time to visit this great location.
It wasn't one of our best days today with 3 DNF's. This one was to good for us and will remain as a reminder with a Blue face in this area till we return. No idea what we can't see.

Wow....what a wonderful place. A great view from up there. Who was Jamie anyway? A fav point from me.
A nasty sneaky well hidden cache. Must have looked there a couple of times but shadows and black containers....
I was with 1Muggle and Lloydyau when this cache was placed. Now that it’s been found I can log it. Tftc
Hatzofff and I are with youngoldfella and artesiancacher heading homewards after our QOGM 2019 preparations. It was a great day with absolutely wonderful weather. We left Muttaburra early and travelled through Longreach, Jundah, Windorah, and on to Quilpie for the night.
An FTF for us is rare in the City, so we don't really go out of our way. But when one is on the offer in the West, well, that's a different story. It took us quite a while to find this one as the coordinates led us to a higher level. Once we descended and took a horizontal turn, we soon had the cache in hand.
Log signed and cache replaced as found at 3:31 PM on 5th August 2019. TFTC, 1muggle.

FTF Returning to Brisbane from Muttaburra via Longreach. Jundah, Windorah, Quilpie, Roma. Picking up caches as we go.
Nice stretch after being in the car for most of the day.
All good at this hide.

Found at S26 38.493 E144 13.490.
We parked in the first car park and walked up the track following the GPSr to level three and we stood at 0 Meters to go and no cache. Looked everywhere so rang the Co who told us where we should be and our elevation was out by one level. Went down one level and soon had the well placed container in hand. Driving from Muttaburra to Quilpie then back home to Nanango in the morning. With RoddyC and Hatzofff and artesiancacher in three cars.

GPS took me to within 1m of GZ but short of a rock drill I wasn't finding anything.
