I had a pretty good look for this one in the pile. I could not see it even when I climbed up on to the pile. However it had been raining quite a bit today and it was a bit slippery.Pity the last 3 finders had not removed it from the pile and placed it in a tree near by. It was obviously not in the initial location. By the comments over the last 12 months it would appear that the owner is no longer doing caching and the information center is unaware of geocaching. If I had found it I would have hung it in a tree nearby as it is only a matter of time and the pile will be burnt. However if the owner is still involved you need to do maintenance on this one.

18-Apr-24
As a few previous logs have mentioned, this area has been cleared and any vegetation is now in a huge pile away from GZ. The cache possibly needs a new home and a new set of coordinates.

To potch or not to potch! Found in the middle of the bushes that had been pushed up. Thanks to Tenkae for reaching in and bleeding

11-Sep-23
Arrived at GZ and saw what others had found, a large cleared area and a pile of folage to the side. Closer inspection if the folage revealed the tiny bison but reaching it turned into a bloody task. Log signed but this cache will need to be moved to a safer location or archived as there seems to be new plans for this area. Tftc

QOGM 2023 Longreach Day 8. Quilpie Day 1. Driving from Charleville to Quilpie via Cooladdi. Fitzy_1965 and Albida33 are on our trip in early spring to Longreach. With no caching left to do in Charleville, we packed up and started west. With plenty of stops along the way, but the best was at Cooladdi where had a good look around and a late breakfast. On to Quilpie, where despite the rodeo and show being in town we were able to get a site at he caravan park. The afternoon was spent visiting the various caches around town, and even doing a bit of maintenance where required and possible.

It really looks like the land use of this area has changed. We had a forlorn look at the pile of rubble, but did not have that miracle moment. I am sure it is time to retire this listing.

Thanks.
Albida

Ground zero seems to be over a fence signed as a shooting range. Must not be here anymore.

30-Jun-23
Looked for this one on our way in to town. The area at ground zero has recently been flattened out and all that’s left is a pile of trees and vegetation plus what was a Sign is now lying on the ground. We asked at the Information Centre if they were aware of the recent land clearing but the lady hadn’t heard of geocaching and wasn’t aware that the Centre was looking after the town caches.

**Found Wednesday 14-December-2022 at 15:52 Smiley #2052**

Annual Rogers Clan road trip throughout wherever the map takes up. Initial plan was Beaudesert, Nindigully Pub, Charlotte Plains, Bourke, Lightning Ridge, Walget, Hebel, Dirrabandi, then home. Unfortunately Bourke flooded so we ended up going Beaudesert, Nindigully Pub, Charlotte Plains, Charleville, Quilpie, Thargomindah, Yowah, Cunnamulla, Nindigully Pub home.

We didn't grab every cache, instead targeted selected ones for a reason or just to break up the drive. Thanks to QOGM there's what feels like literally millions.

Nice simple find, thanks for the information centre putting the efforts in for this

Cache logs are either stamped, signed with Rogersclan13 or just RC13 for space. Thanks for the cache **KerryL62 and Quilpie Information Centre** Big Grin

Firstly I will appologise for the boiler plate log. This does not take away from all the effort that the QOGM placement team and other geocachers have taken to ensure that we have a fantastic QOGM.

This log covers from around the 20th September to the final day of QOGM the 2nd of October, 2022. We attended many events and found untold nuimbers of caches that included puzzles, multi's, Whereigo's and AL's. We made new friends and caught up with old friends, both locals and geocachers. The meals that we had at two of the events where out of this world, such that we cannot give them a star rating as we do not have enough stars. At the final event their was so many prizes, we feel that you whould have been very unlucky to leave this event without something. This year we were not able to team up with our usual cohorts and were invited to join another group who were fun, enthursatic and well organised. It was very different for us to not be the driver. We look forward to hopefully attending next years QOGM in Longreach. SL TFTC

At QOGM 2022 with Temingi
Now that the festivities are over ...
And we are staying another night ...
But all the Charleville caches have now been found
Taking a drive out to Quilpie, the closest block of caches Temingi hasn't found.
Started the new adventure lab on the way in, found some caches, finished the lab, and found some more hides, before looking for this one ... currently the last one in town.
Found the right access, and wandered over to the obvious, when Temingi found it nearby.
Signed as DDT, and replaced
All good here
Thanks for the cache.
Now to have a look at the nearby Earthcache

A great but long day had out in the countryside driving to Cooladdi and then onto Quilpie, a place I had never been to before. Our group of three signed all logs as Team SIP (Snickersallan, Imbunda & patrol14)

Thanks KerryL62 and the Visitor Information Centre for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

After attending the Cooladdi event this morning, Snickersallan, Imbunda and I are going on adventure to Quilpie and maybe Windorah trying to grab a few more LGA's and caches.

Stopped to search for this one and made a quick find.
Signed log as team SIP, returned as found.

During QOGM22 Team S.I.P. (Snickersallan, Imbunda and Patrol14) headed west to attend an Event at Coladdi then further afield to see what caches we could find.
Nicely found, log signed and cache replaced as found. TFTC

Day 3 of my outback travels and the continuation of my Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster for 2022. As a continuation from last year’s event and a very successful team collaboration of Willis007, Jacs Team, Triple turmoil and myself; we continued with the team again for this year. We have worked hard in getting to a point where we can just jump in a car, go, and have fun for the day. There are lots of laughs and repetitive jokes seems to be the call for each day.

Today was a drive to Cooladdi for an event and then a drive to Windorah via Quilpie. Yep a 12 hour day of driving, collecting some LGA’s and a few caches along the way. We left the event and set off on our mission. Ticked off a few personal goals along the way; a couple of extra LGA’s, another couple of earth caches and a few extra caches in the haul. With time pushing we just made it back in time for the last dinner bell at the pub.

Thanks for the caches and the travels out here today.

Took us a while to find our way in to this one.

Having battled against the Big Bash traffic yesterday, more fools us , we decided to have 2 nights out on The Lake. After a very lazy start to the day we headed to town so I could pick up all the caches here.
It turned out to be a very successful day as all caches were found and signed. Thanks to "all" the COS for giving us something to do on our "quiet" day.

Found at 3:59:00 PM(t) GAFF2.
That one took a lot longer than we thought it should have as we were looking for a "small", but eventually found that it was actually a nano! Makes it hard when the description is incorrect.
Is this area an opal fossicking location?
Thanks KerryL62.

Awesome little spot tucked away,
A round about way to get to gz
But we managed to find our way, and sign the log
Travelling homeward bound to Busselton from the Townsville Mega, how lost can we get?
It’s been 2 months since the CacheQld mega and we are still in Queensland, that’s still a long way to go to get home to WA
But the fun bit is, finding all these geocaches along the way.
No matter where we park our caravan for the night, it’s always an exciting day to see this great country through the eyes of the local geocachers.
Thanks to all the COs for showing us your favourite spots along the way.

Found while traveling on my 'Quest to the Cape' trip from Adelaide to the northern tip of Australia on Cape York Peninsula. The plan was to tour along the Strzelecki Track to Innamincka, out to Noccundra and through Quilpie, Blackall, Barcaldine, Hughendon and Ravenshoe to Cairns, then out to Weipa and up to the top. The cache was found in good condition when widening the search after being distracted by another potential hiding spot. Thanks for the cache KerryL62 and Quilpie Information Centre!

Day 5 of of a Queensland road trip with EatSleepCacheRepeat and JACS Team - Big day of driving today - Charleville to Cunnamulla via Quilpie and Targmomindah. Just collecting any cache that got in our way.

Well that snake info board does not fill me with confidence... almost 50% in the very bad category. TFTC!

This cache was on the list for us to collect while passing through on Day 5 of our geotrip to outback QLD. We took note of the snake info, signed the log and left (having being spooked by the snake info!).
There was a family nearby fossiking but it was way too hot for us to attempt any opal discoveries today! TFTC

I decided to take a break from cold Adelaide and head north to warmer climes for a month or so. The (loose) plan is to travel up to Innamincka then into western and central Queensland camping along the way. Where I go and how far north I get will depend on how distracted I get along the way and how hot it gets.

Last night I camped at a great little spot south of Eromanga. From there it was on to Quilpie, Adavale, then half way up to Blackall, retracing some of my travels from a couple of years ago and finding some new caches that had been put out since.

This was a quick find as I passed through Quilpie.

Thanks KerryL62 for the cache.
