The only DNF of the day. I did my best to get higher than ground level but couldn't spot the cache
We stood on post and had a real good look . Sorry to say No luck here today ... Not shore if cache has been muggle, as the other caches along this trail where there.
Team coongoola are in Townsville for the Mega and finding as many caches as we can.
Cheryl found very fast, good hint. Looks like we have to climb a fence to find some along the river.
Thanks GeocachingTownsville for placing this cache.

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 14. Townsville post Mega section Day 2. For my last day in Townsville, I joined TikvaNZ for another section of the Ross River power trail, with a bit of on and off again rain and a closed section we did pretty well. After that I set myself a list of puzzles and other non -trad caches to find for the day, which all took a lot longer than I expected, not to mention the ongoing rain all day. It has been a wonderful time in Townsville, and I have many more caches to get, so hopefully I will get to pass through again later in the year.
Thanks for the cache GeocachingTownsville

Day 14 of a 3 week holiday driving from Canberra to Townsville and back to attend the Mega. This morning Albida33 and I did some more of the Ross River Power Trail by bike/scooter. Apart from having to skip 4 due to being fenced off, all caches we attempted were soon found. TFTC.

Last cache collected in Tvlle on this trip. It's been a wonderful break over Easter and met some interesting cachers that I'd like to keep contact with.
Have many more Tvlle caches to collect on future adventures once I retire. Thanks GeocachingTownsville for your contribution to this powertrail.

Found with BecknMonts while out using our electric scooters. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon when we found most of the cachers that we went for.
A fantastic scooter ride around the river resulted in some caches today! Thanks for the caches GeocachingTownsville.
We found RRPT - Post Up while on our saintly pursuits in FNQ. ...we are glad we have finally made it here.
Thanks GeocachingTownsville for hiding this cache so that we could come and enjoy ourselves

A lovely cool and overcast Easter Sunday, perfect for doing some more of this fantastic walking trail along the river.
With a goal of collecting 150 caches in a day, our plan was to tackle both geoarts, hit the RRPT and collect some other caches in between. An early start was in order to achieve this goal before getting ready for the Trivia night at the MEGA.
A huge thank you to all the COs for preparing and placing the caches we collected today, the variety of hide locations, types and containers was fantastic.

The day had come; the plan to get 150 caches (excluding labs) in a day for another challenge was here. The planning and prep started two months ago when I was at the Wangaratta mega. With the recent zoom events for puzzle solving a big help and the Geoarts of the saint and the book catering for two thirds of the task, it was just a matter of finding 50 more caches so as I was able to complete. Today I had Willis007 with me; we picked on a few quick easy finds as we were passing and motoring between arts. We then grabbed the bikes and went for a ride around along the Ross river parkway or is that power trail.
The Geoarts were found easy and thank you. The book art did slow us down a little with some hides a little tuff to find. the power trail was fun some good caches and some that also slowed us down. However, by the end of the day we were done and the challenge completed.
Thanks to my caching buddies, the CO’s for the caches and the great areas I got to see today.

MEGA Trip - day 3
Assembled the full MEGATRON crew (bella at waggy, dahumbug, tardis0061, crash2079) for an early CITO at Charters Towers and to find as many types as we could in the day.
Having found various types in Charters, we headed to the Saint geoArt puzzles and letterboxes which we collected in record time. Then a quick stop off at the Mega site to complete the maze, before a sprint to Pallarenda for more challenges and solved puzzles. We thought the day would end after the Trivia event, but it seems we were within reach of 100 finds in a day. So what else to do but turn a section of a power trail into a series of night caches.

After the trivia we still had a bit more energy to spend so The Bug, Crash, Tardis and myself headed out for a few more. A bit of wild life around and interesting doing some tree climbs at night.
An unusual find of something that was a non caching item at one GZ but we didn’t touch.
A bit cooler and we had enough head lamps to make the finds.
Typically signed as Megatrons

Found at 10.49am after a stressful arrival to Townsville. After a 2hour plus queuing at Tullamarine to drop our bags off, as the system kept spitting peoples bags back at them, we arrived but my luggage didn't.
Yesterday morning it was off to buy essentials and await the news of the luggage arrival last evening. Still waiting for courier to deliver to our accommodation though.
Now we can do what we came here to do - cache. We stayed in the city overnight and moved closer to the Mega for the next week. After a couple of dnf's last evening and navigation to some other being blocked by temporary fencing, it was good to get our hands on this one.

Found while out cycling around the river Trail on our first day in Townsville to attend the Townsville mega event thanks
Quick find here today. Time to give junior a run around in the local park. TFTC.
I downloaded a few caches along the river last year and now I actually have a chance to find a few. No 5 cache for the day, a quick and easy find, TFTC.
I had a few hours this morning before I had to drive home and had the mountain bike packed so decided to do some of this trail, I didn't have time to finish it so will be back another day.
Overall I liked the array of different caches with some being an easy ride all the way to the cache and others needing some tree climbing/fishing ability.
Most of the caches and logs were in good order.
Many thanks to the CO's for placing.

Out caching with Wolffman05 who’s visiting from Cairns. We decided to attack some caches along the Ross River Power Trail.
We initially bypassed this cache due to several young muggles congregating near the GZ. On our return, the GZ was clear of muggly activity and we quickly located the prize.

The container was sitting on the ground so we signed the log and placed it where the hint suggested.
We woke up to another great morning with clear sunny skies and light winds so decided it was a great day to go for a ride along the Ross River. The added bonus of series of caches on both sides added to the attraction.
The trails were well formed and flat to undulating and the cache styles varied. Some tree climbs we had a go at where we could spot the cache and others, discretion was the better part of valour! Some we just didn’t bother to try! We managed an Earthcache and qualified for a challenge.
At one stage we spotted a Johnstone crocodile while searching for a cache near the water. Heard 3 others splash in as we approached. Then around the corner we saw turtles and later in a scrubby area quite a few wallabies. Water birds were also quite common.
At the furtherest point where we crossed the river for the return journey we came across a cafe where we were able to sit and enjoy a coffee.
All in all, a great day out with some good caching. Feeling a little tired as we are writing these logs, but what a great day out.
Our thanks to the local COs for developing and maintaining these caches. It is much appreciated.

On the bikes today with Bill from DiMorgan, it was the RRPT Trail not sure how we would go looking at some of the terrain ratings, but decided to give it a go. This was the starting point to park the cars and get onto the bikes. Nice and easy for the first

Handy Post Up for those in need. A quick find on a ride to The Strand. TFTC GeocachingTownsville.
Found it but forgot a pen. Also be careful around that area as I found a big funnel web spider
Didn’t have a pen to log this one. This was the geo kids favourite find so far, they loved the size of it
Staying a couple of days in Townsville - after our last stay is over 10 years ago.
