Spending time in this neck of the woods today although, in my determination to get out whatever the weather, I probably spent longer in the rain than necessary as it quasi 'cleared up' a little in the early afternoon. By then, I was pretty sodden, so it hardly mattered! I was wombling along this lovely boardwalk after a missing hidden month cache and thought it would be rude not to look for all of them while I was here. This hide evaded me on the way in as I, and my GPS, were directionally confused. A quick find on the return journey. The track was pretty water-logged but you gotta love chicken wire covered boardwalk as it offers great grip (and keeps the feet dry)! Cache is in good order and it wasn't raining during my visit here (hallelujah!). TFTC Infoferret
We have been walking Papaitonga track for 5 years before stumbling upon geocaching. Nice hide
Beautiful day for an adventure in a new reserve. What a fantastic spot. Quick find.
Found it, the moutere sign has been removed it was 5m from the new sign. Shouldn't be to hard to work out.
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are currently parked up at the NZMCA Park at thr Foxton Racecourse … um, in Foxton … decided we’d go for a bit of a drive around exploring the local area … thought we’d grab the near-by Kiwi Guardian, do some Ad Labs & grab some caches … this one easily found, log-book completed & safely returned … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #4,330 for us!
JustLookingOO and I were out this way today as a new cache had been released by TwigNZ, right at the end of the walk. I really enjoyed the walk, and it was nice to be in the shade and out of the sun. We stopped to look for this one on the way back. Thanks to an excellent hint, it didn’t take too long to find this, nice and close to the track.
Thanks for the cache!

I walked by here a week ago in order to do some cache maintenance on one of my own caches, but as I occasionally do I had a quick look for this one as I was passing, only to find that the logsheet was full.
So seeing as I knew I had to be back here again this weekend I figured I'd just bring some fresh waterproof paper of my own to put in the cache

Heading back along from the PWGT cache and we made the stop for this one. I was almost led astray by Roger who had found it before in a different place, but the hint got me there nice and quickly.
Thanks for another on this lovely trail!

Just off ferry and directly here for PWGT cache. Found this one on the way. Tftc
On a mission to do PWGT 2 caches in full and maybe some of Tahi ones too in the time I’ve allowed myself. There will also be some extras along the way to to make break the journey

Up from Southland with muggly hubby to revisit some old haunts and discover new places. Taking a leisurely trip and the caching goal is to complete PWGT2.
Arrived Wellington yesterday, and this is Day 1 on the road. Aiming for Shannon.
First stop, so stopped successfully here. Nice place for a hide. Researched the meaning oh the hint word, but in the end I didn't need it.

Back the way I came from actually. It is so nice walking through the reserve today - very peaceful. A nice quick find as I made my way to the target PWGT2 cache. TFTC # 18,625
So after a long day of work me and Clarke_nua went to go spend the afternoon finding some geocaches in order to get to cache 100 by Monday evening so we headed down to ohau to find a few I hadn't already found.
After a quick confusion on the hint we quick found the cache tftc

This cache has an unexpectedly high number of finds - possibly because of the since-placed PWGT2 cache that attracts geo-tourists? Anyway, this was a very quick find owing to the cache being pretty exposed in its "hiding" spot. There didn't seem to be a way to cover it better so it's mostly still exposed. The cacherpillar is not something I will ever qualify for (has requirement way outside my geocaching objectives) so I was not here to find that also. Thanks for adding another traditional cache to this wonderful walkway though.
Exploring Papaitonga, what a gorgeous reserve! I appear to have the place to myself. Nice quick find at GZ. Sealed up tightly and returned as found. Tftc!
On our way back from the PWGT cache, we stopped here. A few caches, a kiwi guardian post, what else should we ask for? Both container and logbook were in good condition. Thanks for the cache.
Great cash and a stunning location, especially after all the torrential rains we had. Thanks for bringing me here.
Out for a rainy day walk, lovely one this is too.
Quick find at GZ, very close to our other reason for being here, a Guardian Post.
Thanks!

Several years ago I started to do a fairly regular fortnightly trip up to Wanganui for the weekend. As a result, some time ago, I had found all the caches in Levin, except for the nearby challenge (which I didn't qualify for) and this one. Last weekend, I made it to both my fourth CITO and my seventh Event, which was not only a fun day of geocaching but also finally qualified me for the challenge cache. As this weekend was one when I was heading north, and I had plenty of time, I made a nighttime visit to the area to collect these final two. A nice quiet walk through the dark bush to get here and after a bit of scouting around the cache was found (not where I was expecting it), all safe and dry. Thanks to the CO for placing the cache here.
Working in Levin conducting trang for night shift operators. This meant I had a few hours every morning to pop out and do some caching. Great to get out and get some fresh air before spending the evening in a factory and classroom.
A quick find certainly quicker than the challenge cache in the same reserve.

Here today to right my previous DNF. Easy as, so why couldn't **we** find it last year?
Due to still having the 'old' coordinates in the phone for the cacherpillar I was hungry enough tpo find this one, and an unexpected Kiwiguardians post. Signed log and replaced as found then took the loop (long way) to the tour cache location. Cheers Sarah
This was another area I was keen to cache at with a few Traditipnals, a Tour cache and a challenge cache I qualify for too. Quite muddy underfoot and plenty of water in the creeks and streams and no Australian water dragons sighted (as per sign).
An unusual weekend this was, with mrs c in the region since Wednesday afternoon but me working meant it was Friday evening before we got together and discussed the new house we will soon be moving to. She'd come down in case it fell through which was looking possible at some points last week, but all good in the end. She headed back up North to Auckland this morning and the day was forecast for, and started off with, plenty of the wet stuff. I decided a trip to Foxton and Levin was happening anyway, even if just for a few Ad Lab stages. In the end the big yellow thing prevailed and dried up all the rain and I was able to make a few finds and not get too wet. Even got to (finally) meet TwigNZ, which was good, esp as I'd found a few of his today. Thanks to all COs for their contributions to my fun today.

Decided to pick up a few caches on my way home from Levin today, after having had a bit of a ‘break’ over the past three months, primarily due to the busyness of life. Good to get back into it again! This was the last of the four I located on the walk in to the lake (well, not literally!). Before I got to this point I had lost reception on my phone, along with all the geocaching info. Wasn’t even sure if the cache was at this point. Carried on to the end of the track, located the cache there, and managed to get reception again and download this one. On my walk back out again it was a quick find. A map and a hint make a big difference! #4286. TFTC.
Second visit to this area. Nice & quiet on this Saturday morning, Was with Crystal Fairy as we headed up to Palmerston North for a weekends caching. TFTC
OK so my gps had us going up the wrong road. Finally found the entrance. Enjoyed this walk in a little bit of native forest around this lake. Quick snag and tag at GZ. Cheers
Taybee NZ and I are on a day out together to Palmerston North to scoop up the last few PWGTs needed to complete the Rua series. With a couple of shopping stops along the way. Enjoyed walking Lake Pataitonga and visiting Shannon Dam. Even tackled the steps at Anzac Park for a great earth cache. Had an amazing day thanks to all the COS and Taybee NZ.

Due to the postponement of the Auckland Mega, Buttels and the Crystal half decided to use the dates planned for the event to do some caching between Wellington and Palmy. Quick and easy find in only one location. Thanks for the cache
On my MEGA trip to Auckland except I am now heading from Feilding to Wellington.
However to complete the artwork AdLab I have to drive through Levin to admire the artwork in Ohau before I can enjoy Levin's artwork.
On the way back I headed for the GeoTour cache and enjoyed some time out of the car.
Yay. I turned the right way for the shorter route.

Re-visited this cache today in the company of a new cacher, and noticed that there's not many spaces left on the log. I'll try to take another walk down here in the next week or so to drop in a new logsheet
We have come to the North Island to do a bit of a whirlwind tour and find some of the new PWGT caches. We were in the North Island for our summer holiday only a few months ago and as it turns out many of the places we went to we are revisiting on this trip.
GK headed off to find this and the other caches in the area while I waited in the campervan. He was having trouble finding one of them and he rang me up. So I grabbed my crutches and off I headed to join in with the search. I am so pleased I did as this is such a wonderful wee track in amongst lush bush. The bird life was just superb.
On our way back we just stood for a while looking, listening and appreciating the environment.
GK found this cache in the first place he looked, he signed the log before returning it all as he found it.
Thank you placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.

Found it thanks to a hint in a previous log as it was not where the hint said it would be. I’ve put it back where I think it belongs according to the info and the log, and have covered it with leaf litter, but the owner may want to double check where it is and place it in it’s correct location if I’ve gotten it wrong.
A nice quick find thanks on a lovely walk.
Ms_KR and I flew up to Hamilton to catch up on family and a few caches, especially those in the new PWGT geotour. Day 3, Palmerston North to National Park. First rain of the holiday when we reached our accommodation!. We are looking at completing those in the Central North Island this holiday.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Several options here for hint items but process of elimination brought me to the logical and correct one. Thanks for the placement infoferret
With numerous of the hint items and GPS patchy it took a minute or so to locate...I guess I am not the only one in this boat as all the hint items have had a through going over..thanks infoferret
Took a few moments to locate the correct hint object. Visiting from Dunedin. Tftc
Was fed up waiting for a party to leave where the PWGT cache was so came to look for this. Took a few guesses but got it ok. Up for lunch then back down later to get the big prize I hope.
Loving the bush walk. Cache about 9m off for me, so had to increase search area. Happy to find. Thanks for hide Infoferret
Day 3: A long weekend filled with adventure and finding caches with rebel98.
Started early with a plane flight to Wellington. The plan is to slowly make our way back to Auckland over 4 days in a rental car.
In the end we travelled 1550 km, with overnight stays in Dannevirke, Fielding and Tokaanu.
Statistics: 67 caches found including 1 adventure lab, a mixture of 7 puzzles, 4 virtuals, 12 multis, 1 earthcache, and 31 PWGT caches.
This weekend we both completed the PWGT geotour - Rua.
And on the way rustynz found her 7000th cache.
(Thank you to all the CO for their cache hides).

Out and about with the_Jinx hunting out some of the high FP geocaches in and around Levin.
Came here to get the local PWGT Geotour geocache. Then we tried to find this cache en-route to The MEGA hungry Cacherpillar as the_Jinx had a large TB he was trying to drop somewhere. Searched and searched but no joy for us. **Just letting CO know it may be missing.** Although I note a party of three located it the day before us.

Nice hint, took a bit to find. Three of us wandering around with one observer who knew where it was, trying (and failing) to not say anything! Thanks for the cache. Great little spot.
After parking the snail shell up in Marton it was time for a road trip to get some of the PWGT caches and any others that got in the way.
This is one that got in the way. Like Rubbishparty it was my 4th stump as well.
The CO needs to correct the coords for the Parking. There is no way one can park a car there.
Cheers for the cache.

Collecting as many caches around the Levin area as possible. What a wonderful reserve which I’m sure I would never have noticed if it wasn’t for geocaching. Would have sped past on SH1 like the rest of them. Lovely to be in the shade on such a hot day. Found it in the 4th stump. GPS was spot on. I think I was just being hopeful with the first 3. Thanks for the smiley and the great lookout.
I think its this way, took much longer than it should have started a hunt before a family also stopped and were playing with the dogs so we moved on and did it on the return thanks for placing a cache here on the way to the geotour cache
Thanks Infoferret for placing this cache
It was awesome to hear so many wood pidgeons flapping at GZ, one of them deposited a lot of digested berries on my T-shirt - luckily it blended in with the existing colour.
The cache is now in a diagonal stump a few metres off the path as described by tramyard and NODO...
Now which way is that Hungry Cacherpiller?

1.50pm. This may not be where it was placed. I had to step off the path a few metres going past the stump that is next to the path. In another stump a few metres further on. All in good order.

Our 2nd day of 4 to collect all the PWGT series south of Auckland down to Lake Wairarapa. Today, I’m with FMZ in his 4WD and it’s been quite the mission so far.

Day three of a five day North Island Pokai Whenua GeoTour expedition collecting all the geotour caches for PWGT Tahi and PWGT Rua. 3550km travelled over 5 days, 70 geotour caches found. Today we travelled from Turangi to Masterton via the Manawatu. Our group today consisted of Gorby, boneybruce and myself.
On our way back to the car we found this additional cache. Took a few minutes to spot but we got there. TFTC

On a mission chasing PWGT caches and grabbed this while in the area. Noticed the no dog sign so ROS drew the short straw to complete the walk while MAR stayed in the moho with the fur babies. No problem with the find TFTC.
#1407. Time to make a start on the Pokai Whenua GeoTrail, and where better to start than this beautiful piece of native woodland? And it’s only 5 km from my orchard. But first, a meeting along the track with tmann421 & woolwood who have beaten me by about 20 minutes to that cache, only 11 metres from this one. Nice to finally meet you guys.

Since we were in the area picking up a new cache from the event today, we figured we might as well go for a little walk to pick up this cache as well.
No problems making the find as it was uncovered and visible. We covered it with leaf cover before we left. And then met the CO (for about the 5th time today ) as we were on our way back to the car.
Thanks for putting this here for us to find.
