Was in the area so jumped off the Metro train, armed with new geopen, to sign the log as at 11/8/24. TFTC Jackscruff!
So, today out caching spending up big with my $2.50 allowance . Keeping me company along the journey were Brewmaker and Calypso62 who kept me on the straight and narrow track. On arrival in Cherrybrook I attempted to head towards GZ but at first I was headed in the wrong directions - well I knew there was a reason I had these two along for the journey ! Once I was on "track" Apple indicated I was indeed heading in the right direction . On arrival had to avoid a few nasty weeds including Farmers's Friends etc . I initially overthinked where it would be - not the obvious at the end .Nice one - almost another clean slate to sign . TFTC Jackscruff
Like the previous finder I thought I could take a short cut from the station through the car park - which ended up being four times further! What a time for my trusty geocaching pen to die, so unable to sign the log. Will message the CO with photo. Glad to find another Jackscruff cache! TFTC
Found It!Got a little lost in the carpark and then getting from the carpark to GZ. But once I did get to GZ, I found the cache after a short search. Log book is a bit damp but still usable.TFTC
Passing by so stopped off to grab this one. Quickly found after a short search. With the cache in hand we signed the log then replaced as found. Managed to make our mark on the log, but could do with a new sheet next time you are passing. Thanks for the cache Jackscruff. The following TBs came through for the mileage: Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), Vanlith The Youngling, Hidden Creatures Geocoin TB, teamMerlin's Football
COme back from a few caches and there is always time for one. Had an idea of what it might be and was surprised to see blackberries. Cache soon found but the log appears to have been wet at some stage so not that readable but still signable which we did. TFTCA fav pt
Up in Sydney with GLISS! For some caching, exploring and the East Richmond parkrun. Tackling some of the long multis whilst we are in the region today. Thought we would grab this one whilst we are here. Took a bit of foraging but GLISS! Soon had the cache in hand. Great to get another side tracked cache. We love collecting these.
A relatively quick find with Nibletricecajes because we knew it would be tricky. Thanks for adding amother SideTracked to the map.
Well after three attempts at this I can finally say I found it and turn that frown upside down. So happy. Such a clever hide!! Thanks Jackscruff
What a relief. We have DNFed a couple of SideTracked caches by this CO recently and were not confident. We happened to be nearby today and tried our luck with this one. After searching for several minutes, then widening our search, then back again. Suddenly we saw the sneaky, unexpected hide. Well done, Jackscruff. Unfortunately, the logsheet was damp and we could not write on it. We have taken a photo as proof of our find. Thank you Jackscruff
No luck today after 20 mins - geokiddies patient but gave up in the end, good one to do on the weekend - you can park close at metro station and sneak through the bush to get close to GZ
Together with 36 other geocachers, the KiSt team undertook a very long trip to Australia and New Zealand for three weeks. On both the outward and return journeys, there was a stopover in Doha, the capital of Qatar .We experienced a great deal on this trip and gained many very different impressions of the two countries, their nature and their culture. Of course, the main focus was on visiting as many caches of as many different types as possible and also all accessible old cans. However, we also made sure to visit many special places of interest and to gain as comprehensive an impression as possible of nature and its flora and fauna. To save the logbooks, we usually signed in with our team name **Downunder24**. For "special" cans, however, we have not missed the opportunity to leave our nickname as well. This beautiful cache is now also one of our finds.Due to the large number of caches visited, it is unfortunately not possible for us to write an individual log for each can, which is why we would like to apologize to the owners for this collective log.We also met other cachers at some of the events and were able to share our experiences. Many thanks to the event owners!Of course we would like to thank all the owners for showing us the great locations, the sometimes tricky puzzles, exciting multis and wherigos, as well as the interesting virtuals and earth caches - TFTC!!!---In der Besetzung KiSt unternahmen wir zusammen mit 36 weiteren Geocachern fr drei Wochen eine sehr weite Reise nach Australien und Neuseeland .

Danke fr diesen Geocache. Danke fr die Ausarbeitung. Danke frs Zeigen.Lieber Gru aus Duisburg / DeutschlandAndyDieser Logeintrag wird mit Hilfe von Google bersetzt.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________We set off on a long journey with 37 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Three weeks to Australia and New Zealand, starting with a stopover in Doha, Qatar. I have never been so long and so far away from home. An exciting time. When geocaching, the focus was on many different cache types, but also special ratings, challenges and especially a few very old caches from the years 2000 and 2001. But also, of course, especially the geocaches that were easily accessible on foot from the hotel.Of course, the focus wasn't just on geocaching; the sights of the individual stations we visited also deserved attention. We entered our team name Downunder 2024 in the logbooks, saving logbook space and efficiently. It was a very special trip in a large team, which was also a lot of fun.Today we visited the areas around Sydney.Due to the large number of caches, there is usually only one standard log, for which I would like to apologize to the different owners. Thanks for this geocache. Find number 12741 at 1:16:15pm on Wednesday the 13 December 2023Time to use up a travel voucher before it expires on December 31 so I hatched a plan for a day trip to Sydney to do some LGA's and SideTracked geocaches. First flight out of Melbourne in the morning and last flight back in the evening, it turned out to be a long day, up a 3:30 and back home at half past midnight for a total of nineteen geocaches, thirteen SideTracked and nine LGA's Parking was a definite issue here today but once I got to GZ the find was quick, seen many of these before **Thanks for placing this cache Jackscruff**---Don't miss finishing the Ballarat GeoTour before it ends on 4th March 2024. A list of the geocaches can be found [here](https://coord.info/BM9GWJ5). The final GeoTour Event is the [Farewell Ballarat GeoTour](https://coord.info/GCAFQ8B) on the 18th February 2024!You can also get prepared for the 2023 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards by checking out our preliminary lists [here](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists/).
Took us a bit of searching before the cache decided to reveal itself to us. Thanks!
Found it today.
The camo was unusual.
We took nothing and left nothing. How could you!

Streak day # 19/28 for this month's streak day challenge.
I had picked up. a shift last minute in the afternoon, when I had originally planned on finding a cache. As a result, I had to venture out late at night.... in the rain. I chose to do this cache, one that was nearby which I was holding onto for times like these.
I parked at the station, and then bushbashed a slight trail to the main footpath. At GZ, I circled around, and checked for some very devious hides. Nothing. I then got another angle, and I turned up lucky. Signed the log.
The camo is fading / peeling in some places.
On the way back, I realised I had LOST my torch somewhere on this very short walk. I spent around 15 minutes looking for it, but turned up empty. Sad
If anyone happens to spot it, would you be able to drop it at GZ, and send me a PM? I will return ))

Found with shaneo58, We came down from Newcastle to Do the Metro adventure Lab and picking up some along the way. The GPS had us going all over the place but finally found the clever cache.
Signed log and Cache replaced as found.
**Thanks For The Cache** Jackscruff.
This makes the 2nd cache of 11 for today making a grand total of 4020 at 10:00AM on this Thursday the 9th of March in the Year 2023

Really clever camo. Took a while to realise that I was starting right at the cache. TFTC
I've looked at all the logical places but haven't been able to find the cache. I'll come back when somebody has found it.
I might have been blind.
I might have been blind.
I was on my back from Koala Park and the forest. I thought, well let's pick this one up. Nope. I couldn't find it. Probably because of my pour search skills.
Had a fair idea of the type of hide, and even still it took several minutes to locate. There is evidence of damage to vegetation surrounding GZ from previous searchers trampling underfoot, I just wonder if this particular spot is still suitable? I felt quite conspicuous to the passing traffic, made worse when the traffic lights turned red and vehicles stopped quite nearby. After a few minutes of looking and feeling, I took a few steps back to get a better view and spotted something interesting, and soon thereafter had CIH. SL and returned as found. Definitely a well-constructed cache with great camo. TFTC Jackscruff!

Scratching my head trying to figure out this one. Knew it wasn’t gonna be a mint tin to have so many FP’s, but was coming up blank. After a few minutes, spotted something interesting - ahh, bingo, CIH.
Log was quite wet, just managed to get a sign in (signature readable, date, not so much haha).

Frazeydaze had a medical appointment in Castle Hill this afternoon so we decided to make a day of it and grab some caches and have lunch while in the area.
Last cache for the day before the heavens opened up. After parking in the station parking we wandered through the carpark over to Castle Hill Road. After being caught up in spiders webs had scratched by blackberries the sneaky hide was uncovered.
Thanks for hiding this cache jackscruff.
Out with oldmorty caching in the rain.
Tricky approach but not too difficult for oldmorty.

Stopped off here while playing trains and was able to make the find quickly enough to get back to the station for the next train to Chatswood, where I'll kick off my next Metro adventure.
Thanks for side tracking me from my train travels for a smiley here JackScruff.

Did a bit of a trip from home and got off the Metro at Cherrybrook station and got sidetracked here with ilook4geo. Went to look for this cache and it was found before both names were added to the log. All was replaced as found on a very grey afternoon. Thanks for the cache go to Jackscruff.
Had the afternoon free so went out to pick up a few caches with goingplaces2. This one was found OK and signed. TFTC.

Today seemed like a good time to ride the metro, and I even managed a walk too, without being rained on.
Thankyou, Jackscruff for this neat addition to the Sidetracked series.

While out doing caches, I noticed another SideTracked cache just asking to be found. Took a little time to find it - well hidden. Thanks Jackscruff.
Now that the NSW Government is easing lockdown restrictions and we can now travel outside our local LGA, it’s time to bring this cache back into play.
Just a reminder, a fundamental rule of geocaching is that, in order to be able to log a cache find online, you must retrieve the cache container and sign the physical log located in that container. Failure to comply will result in your online log being removed.
We know the COVID-19 virus is still about, so please take precautions to keep yourself and those around you safe by doing things such as wearing gloves to handle caches, as well as using hand sanitiser regularly.
The cache has been checked today and the container is still in place and the log is in good condition.
Take care everyone and enjoy your geocaching!
Walking back after getting my Pfizer jab and thought there is a cache around here. Oh it’s disabled. Sorry not going to be back here again and there is nobody using the path so it’s probably safer now for someone who geocaching in such a situation is exercise and also essential for their mental health as I try to cope with life.
Haven’t seen one of these in a while and thought they had been banned.
Thanks.

To help stop the spread of Covid-19, the NSW Government has ordered everybody to stay at home unless you are: shopping for essentials, receiving medical care, exercising or travelling to work or education.
While some people would regard going geocaching as a form of exercise, it is my personal opinion that this activity is a non-essential one, perhaps involving unnecessary travel and therefore should not be undertaken during this time of crisis.
Who knows how long this current lockdown will last! Right now, every one of us has an important part to play in helping to keep our families, friends and the wider community safe in the fight against the spread of Covid-19, by staying home.
As a result of the health authority’s directive, I have decided to disable this cache and respectfully request that no person seek out and claim a find whilst this cache is disabled.
Thank you for your cooperation.

We thought we'd take a longer exercise today and attempt this intriguing one. We suspected what we should be seeking but couldn't come up with the goods so I contacted the CO who kindly provided a good hint. Upon our return, the cache was quickly found in a spot we'd previously checked, but obviously not very well.
Thanks Jackscruff, it's an excellent hide and definitely worth a favourite.

Mr MR was anxious that with the lockdown we might not be able to log a cache this month. This one is reasonably local so we decided to go for it and, thanks to the CO, we've registered a find for July. A bonus was the weather, spring in mid winter. Thanks Jackscruff a favourite from me too.

This new spot is further from the eyes of passing muggle traffic, both pedestrian and vehicular. Also I hope it will be better protected from wet weather.

I visited the cache this afternoon and placed a new log sheet in the cache.
It is tradies 'write in the rain' paper so hopefully that will survive the elements better.
I'm really pleased to see all the native plantings near GZ and around the station are growing extremely well. They must have like the weird weather we've had this year!
The cache is ready and waiting for new finders.
Happy hunting.

Second time looking for this ?size devil.
It seems to be the way. The first look had us searching for a good 45 minutes. We had the cache in hand within five minutes on our second trip. Certainly was an enjoyable trip out with Miss7. Thanks for bringing us here
GeoKid7 - It was hard to find. I love it+love it.
GeoMum - the log book has gone. Managed to sign but not overly legible. Will need another sheet added.

There was parking with it being a Saturday, but it wasn't until after I parked in the parking station and was walking back to the cache I realised on a weekend I could have parked opposite the station for 2 hours.
Had a fair look around but couldn't spot it today. I found one out of place unnecessary silver thing but it wasn't a cache. Thanks anyway.

Finally! This cache was a bit of a nemesis. The first attempt was a failure because the cache had gone AWOL. Thus, after a bit of a search for something I had in mind, I had to give up.
A new cache appeared some time later, albeit in a slightly different spot. I was quite excited about a potential find, but it was not to be. Somehow, although I was sure I had the right type of hide in mind, I just couldn't make the find.
Today, while out on a cycle around the area I decided it was time to put this one to bed. Others had been successful ... what was I missing? Fortunately, no muggles about, and I could search with a water bottle in hand, as though I was just taking a break from cycling.
Well, what do you know, I was still coming up empty. So it was time for a systematic approach, and that finally did the trick. Marvellous. Finally, I had the little devil and I could turn the blue sad face into a yellow smiley. Sneaky hide, even though this was exactly what I had imagined I was after.
However, it would appear that the log sheet has been eroded away a bit, probably from the multiple retrievals over time. Essentially, there was still a little spot for me to sign my name, but a new log sheet is required. I'll put in a maintenance request for same.

This geocacher reported that the logbook is full.
Essentially, the log sheet has torn off and only a short strip was still there with one spot for me to add my name.

Out of area and saw this cache. Thought it would be a quick grab and assumed I knew what I was looking for but, no luck.
Parked down the road and walked up to the station filled with trepidation. Words like "cunning", "devious" and "fiendish" seen in previous logs filled neither me nor Lyn999 with optimism. Got to GZ with no problems and hardened our resolve for a long and painstaking search. Wrong again! Lyn999 had eyes-on in no time. Cool idea for a cache. A favourite point from me! Signed the log and home in time for dinner. Thanks to Jackscruff for this very innovative cache.
Came here for the third time to get this one. After the first time a deep analysis of notes led to the correct conclusion about what I was looking for but the second visit did not pay dividends.
As I was caching by train today a steely determination came over me to get the results. A systematic search led to the correct result today in quick time. Relief as no further searches will be needed on this one at least.
Thanks Jackscruff for a devious cache and have a favourite.

Tried a few places but the icy wind was too much for the Geoboy and me so gave up after about ten minutes
Coming past on the way home I remembered there was a sidetracked cache here, and parked th old car in the parking station before making my way to GZ. I checked all the usual spots before reviewing the cache size and then making the find immediately. Very clever. As the previous posters said, the cache is damaged but still serviceable and there is still plenty of room, so need to replace ti just yet. A very classy hide. TFTC.
As we arrived it was peak hour traffic and the best parking was down a side road with plenty of available spaces. A short walk later and we were at GZ where we began our search, looking at all the usual sneaky places associated with areas like this. Fortunately, we could search somewhat hidden from the passing traffic but had no luck with finding the cache. I then remembered a type of hide that I came across not that long ago at home which would fit this location, and a brief search showed me that luckily, I was right. The log is already a bit damaged and damp but I found a dry spot to log and we headed off very pleased with ourselves, because this is not an easy cache. Thanks Jackscruff for this very challenging cache, we loved it.
We caught some odd eyes and even a car horn,
Where this cache was had us torn.
We really did not want to stay,
But then I saw something grey.
It took a minute to remove the cache,
And then we read it and made a dash.

Took the Metro today. Donned my mask, goggles, cap and gown to be safe and made it to work and back. Then when my ride said she would be a few minutes late, I remembered this cache and that it had been re enabled again. Raced up and to GZ. Quick search and made the classic find. SL and replaced. TFTC.
Very sneaky, almost defeated by a Jackscruff cache again.
This time however, I persisted and finally found the prize.
Unfortunately the log is a bit sodden, and extremely difficult to sign.
This was devious enough to earn a favourite point from me.

Unfortunately with Government restrictions to Stay at Home I will not be able to get to this cache to repair the logbook.
The only alternative at the present time is to disable it.
I look forward to the day I can get the cache back in play.
Stay safe.

Had a chance to stop here and found the whole place utterly deserted. Found something like what I'd expected but the log is not tolerating the recent moisture too well. Thanks Jackscruff.
Third attempt at this one would have to say the clue is misleading, also the log gets wet and breaks easily. After some hints we knew where it would be and had a little race to get to it first.
With a photo from a PAF, the race was on to be the first to find the cache between myself, felicity and semi-muggle Monique, felicity and I put our hands on it at the same time

I was out paying a bill that I couldn't pay online - who does that anymore? After grabbing a few things at the supermarket (tissues - they had tissues!) I decided to head the short distance here for a find. I can even wash my hands afterwards in the station! And I did.
Parked *The Family Chariot* in the side street and headed for GZ.
As for the find. Nasty. My eyes and fingers were all over the place, but nothing spotted or felt. Where is it? I'm pretty sure I know what I'm looking for here.
Took me 10 minutes before I just spotted something at the right angle. Is that it?
Yep - CIH!
Phew. How did I miss that for so long?
As I made the grab the very damp log started to shred, so took it easy the rest of the way.
Signed - which if there's more rain will soon become a red blob - and replaced.
Then off to wash and head for home.

Wowee, found it eventually! After failing on this one before, I asked the CO for some help, and they kindly obliged.
Even still, armed with a detailed extra hint, it took me a long time to find this cache. I frisked the item very well, and ran my hands over the cache - on both occasions! I had dismissed this before, and a second time, as it did not move. But after investigating further, I soon had it in my hand! Although, it has taken some beating from the heavy rain. It's now partially wet, but still mostly signable.
A tricky tricky cache here - surprised it's only a D2.5 in all honesty! I'd hate to search for a D5 cache by the CO! Many thanks for the cache, TFTC.

208th SideTracked cache found, and 26th in New South Wales.
11th cache found in New South Wales Shire of Hornsby.

If it wasn’t for the CO taking pity on me when I rang for a hint I’d still be there. Think thin.
visited with Ris768 & we started looking in the usual places but couldn't find the cache until we though about the location & started looking for something different & soon Ris768 had CIH thanks Jackscruff for placing this cache

FINALLY! Found with Deep_99 to keep the streak going. After 2 failed attempts and 2 PAFS that didn’t answer the phone, I started thinking how this could be hidden and then it was a quick find. SL #4352 on streak day #2737 TFTC

It's always fantastic when you turn a blue frownie into a yellow happy face. The CO had moved the location and I was now searching a new spot. I had two of my grandsons along with me for the hunt as they are both staying at my place for a sleepover. It took a few minutes to discover the location of this sneaky hide. I can see how easy it would be to log a DNF on this one. I'm really pleased to be able to log another in the SideTracked series. Well done Jackscruff.
Woohoo!!! A souvenir for this find. Bonus!!

Out on a treasure hunt with my Poppy, Calypso62. After finding the cache we waited for some metro trains to come along so we could see them. Thanks Jackscruff.

A nice find while out caching with my Poppy, Calypso62. I'm down for a sleepover and we're going for a ride on the Metro tomorrow. I'm looking forward to that. Thanks jackscruff.

Its me not you. Despite the best efforts to help, I suffered cache blindness here. Will have to comeback another time to grab this one for sure.
Sadly I wasn't as keen on this cache as the last one at Tallawong! A vague hint at a busy junction full of cars and muggles! I frisked the item at GZ all over for about 10 minutes. Really gave it a detailed long inspection. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything cache related, and had to turn away to catch the next train back towards the city. Will keep an eye on this one.
