Very clever hide

One of three caches we found on our way to Palmy today for the long weekend. Took a few minutes to locate this one. Couldnt get my coords to go below 8-9m from GZ, no matter what direction I walked! Didnt really like searching on the far side of the gate because it probably is private property at that point. In the end I realised I neednt have gone there anyway! Mrs tbird pointed out something that might be worth investigating, and we found what we were looking for! #7544. TFTC.

After years on our bucket list and three cancellations due to Covid, we are thrilled to finally be here. Following several cruises we flew from Sydney, Australia to Wellington, New Zealand to begin our next adventure. Picked up our rental vehicle and will be driving, exploring, hiking, and caching both islands for 3.5 weeks.Quickly found the cache upon reaching GZ and soon had our ink on the log. Thanks for adding to our adventure today, Nukeworker and Racquetball Girl, Arkansas, USA

11.30am. Tried this once before but didn't know what the cache name meant. Looked it up so this time it was an instant find.
Thank you, David.

I was aiming to find as many caches on the day as possible and managed 62 plus some ALs. I really enjoyed every single one, and apologies for the generic log. TFTC!!

With the excitement of yeserday's Stickman series behind us, JustLookingOO and Itchyfeet2020 and I were heading home today after two nights in Woodville. We met at a cafe for a late breakfast, following which we decided to do a quick trail I'd put together and grab some caches on the way back to Wellington.

After heading over the Pahiatua Track, we carried on through Linton, Tokomaru, and down through Shannon, stopping at this cache on the way to Levin.

As luck would have it, shortly after arriving, a real estate agent pulled up behind us (the nearby property is for sale), so not only did we have to move our cars, we had to explain what we were doing. She seemed quite interested, and then drove off and left us to it.

It took us a while to hunt down this cache - it was JL who made the find after we followed a hint from a previous log.

Thanks to the CO for the cache - another FP comes his way Smile

After a great weekend in Woodville completing the Stickman series TrinityNZ, Justlooking00 and I are heading home in a two car convoy, picking up caches on the way, as you do.
I had previously visited here but didn't really have enough time as I had a long way to travel. Today was different, we had time. Although the real estate agent did turn up as we parked next to the closed gates and promptly and to move our cars and explain ourselves - she thought we wanted in. After that we had the place to ourselves and Justlooking00 soon made short work of the find. A great hide and totally worthy of another FAV to add to the list. Thanks TwigNZ, so enjoy yr caches. Enjoyed the stop here today

Always like to find interesting caches, and this cache is included. Have found a similar style previously.
Catching up on logging finds found over the past month.
Favourite given. Thanks TwigNZ for bringing me here.

Walked Ashurst to Woodville and geocaches on the way home. Would be a great property just here if in the market.

Found en route home to Wellington after a lovely holiday break. Luckily I learned a small amount of Spanish at University, so i made a quick find at GZ. TFTC

24-Oct-22
My third one of these Peligroso caches, getting the hang of them now, thanks Twig.

Although it's been a long 3-day weekend for most today is the first real chance I've had to nip out for some caching action. I was on 24 hour duty from Saturday til Sunday morning and as soon as I got home yesterday I was straight into tidying the section and gardening chores. Off out before 7 this morning and back home just after 1.30 pm so some time for a few finds. 22 today and some goodies in there including the (almost) pensioner cache D.U.N.E down at Waikawa Beach. Thanks to all COs for their hides.

22-Oct-22
Geocaching my way down to Otaki to pick up my Granddaughter for the weekend. Great hide. Tft c

05-Oct-22
On my way home to the Hutt Valley from a few nights in Palmerston North for the beginning of the school holidays. Picking up a few caches on the way, as one does.

Having read the previous log I did a small amount of on-the-spot research, looked up from my phone, and instantly saw what I needed to see! Very clever! Fav point for sure!

25-Sep-22
Found with the help of Etherlord showing me the translation of the title of the cache very fun

11-Sep-22
I usually do a big maintenance run around this time of year, and so it was that I checked up on this cache today.

All fine here.

23-Aug-22
No luck today. Maybe with a long gap since last find, it's hidden in the growth or the now disintegrating wagon wheel?

10-Jan-22
Wow really clever hide not a park and grab but didn't take much longer than 10 minutes

08-Jan-22
Super sneaky hiding spot. Almost gave up but just found it on our last sweepthrough. Awesome spot, TFTC!

15-Oct-21
We failed to find this cache on a previous visit, but later obtained a hint from the cache owner, and also discovered extra information on the cache page which wasn't available to us last time, resulting in a quick easy find today. A favourite from us. TFTC

20-Sep-21
Great hide getting a like from me. Tftc

15-Aug-21
With Spring just around the corner, and in light of the last logged find, I visited GZ today to check up on this cache and see what the state of both GZ and the log was.
No issues with the log, as it is waterproof paper, but the cache itself is in need of some repairs, or in truth a like-for-like replacement. This will happen this coming Friday 20th.
Until then, the old cache remains in place as its problems are more aesthetic than anything else.

07-Aug-21
OMG this one is so cool didn't even think about that
Found with squishysgirl
Log book is full

07-Aug-21
Fast find upon today's return brief search yesterday but no luck before last night I was racking my brain over why didn't I click and look at a particular spot.
So back today to right my silliness and found amazingly fast
thankyou Twignz
fav point for this one for sure
Log wet and full though.

Great cache hidden in plain sight.

19-Jun-21
This is very nicely done, and had me fooled for 10 minutes even though I examined the logsheet container several times.
Thanks very much for the cache. FP added.

23-Apr-21
This cache defeated us today, however having met the cache owner later in the day, we expect to be more successful next time. We've also discovered additional information on the cache page which wasn't available to us on the handheld device we use.

21-Mar-21
After a long (but very fun) day around Levin finding the geocaches around the area, I decided to leave, but not without finding a few more on the way back home.

I had attempted to find this geocache this morning as I was coming into Levin but I came up empty handed after a short search. I was fortunate enough to be able to ask the CO at the event today about more details and when I got back to the GZ it was a very easy find. While I was signing it, a car came off the main road and slowed down near me. This made me feel very worried for a second as I thought that they might be some muggles who were going to approach me and ask what I was doing, and in my current position there was no reasonable excuse I could conjure up. Fortunately, they we some fellow geocaches up from Wellington, they introduced themselves as Nuttynora and Piwaka54, it is always great to meet fellow geocachers while out hunting. After we all signed the geocache, we put it back exactly as we found it and after a quick chat went out separate ways. I believe the geocache also deserved a favorite point for its creativity and unique camouflage. TFTC!

Found with Nutty Nora. Brilliant hide!

21-Mar-21
Met Jinx from Masteryon as we cruised to the GZ. Super sneaky hide!!! Love it

01-Mar-21
Stayed in Levin last night and now pottering up to Palmy. Stopping on the way for a few caches. Managed to park near GZ. But if a geotrail but still an enjoyable cache. Seemed like the cows knew exactly where the cache was as they came within a few feet. Thanks.

#9125. A plan was hatched today to drive up to the Manawatu to pick up the new PWGT multi near Shannon and do the Dam multi as well. We had Infoferret, barefootguru and bruzie on the trip along with myself. We stopped here as a couple of us had not done this cache before. I did not know what peligroso meant before stopping here but do now. Bruzie spotted the object that didn't seem right and I extracted the cache from its hide. Very clever camo indeed and well done on the hide. We signed the logbook and replaced everything as found. Thanks TwigNZ for taking the time to hide this cache here.

28-Feb-21
A road trip was planned by InfoFerret to head up to Shannon to grab the new PWGT2 multi (and if time and weather permitted, the Dam Pirate Treasure multi too). Myself, GSEL and barefootguru joined the call to offer support and combined experience.

This was called out for picking up and as I haven't found it I happily joined in. Having found its sister cache near Massey University I knew exactly what to look for and soon spotted the cache hiding away there. Log extracted and signed, and replaced. All good here, and TFTC

A nice quick find thanks.

Ms_KR and I are on our annual pilgrimage to Auckland for our family Christmas. Today are driving from Palmerston North to Wellington. Please excuse the generic logs, there have been a few finds and they get muddled up sometimes.

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

AGCNZ and I were on our way to join others for some caching in the Manawatu, but first this tricky little hide. Had to look for a while.......TFTC

29-Oct-20
Heading north with Tramper Ted this morning for a bit of caching in the Northern Manawatu. I have driven past here countless times since this was placed so this time we stopped to have a look. The cache container was one of the first items we looked at but it was so well camouflaged that we discounted it. Finally after exhausting most of the other possibilities we came back and looked more carefully, and then the find was made. Verry well done! Signed log, TFTC!

10-Oct-20
Once I got past the "should I really be doing this" moment, the cache was soon located, the logbook signed, and I was on my way again. Nice bit of camo, a novel twist.

Cheers and TFTC

Generic Log for todays caching. Target today was the Stickman series with Barefoot Guru. We left early in the morning to head up to Palmy, with a focus on puzzle caches not too far off the road that we had solved. Enjoyed the day and got back well after 8pm. Most caches in good condition. Thanks for the caches. Loved this cache.. Unique idea and gets a FP from me.

08-Aug-20
Quick to spot, but enjoyed the camo! At 40° 35 this is another latitude done for the challenge. Cheers TwigNZ

great cache!! had to chuckle one of my favourites so far Smile

14-Jul-20
Being my day off, I've come down here today to hunt out specific caches I'd been storing off-line for just such a day... either they satisfied an empty segment of the BadgeGen 360 from Home challenge, or they contributed to fulfilling another minute of the GC5HXCV New Zealand in 400 minutes challenge, or they just stood out as worthy. This one was a geocache of convenience, being convenient to others I’d found. Shame the establishment is closed on a Tuesday as I would’ve loved to visit. Another time I guess.
A bit of a struggle to release the log but eventually managed it. All good here. LOL I was a bit naughty - having noticed FTF hadn’t been signed off - that’s where I wrote my moniker Wink Hey, the first page was full anyway. Big Grin

12-Jul-20
Took a couple of looks to eventually spot this one. Had to do a bit of waiting as cars were leaving the nearby cafe. TFTC.

Didnt initially spot the obvious as I went around the wrong side.
Once this fab false thing was spotted I knew I was on to it!

06-Jul-20
SPOILER ALERT I had an hour to spare so thought I'd have a go at this one as I've been meaning to do it for a while. Being a Monday I knew there would not be too many muggles about. Instantly on arriving I thought I'd spotted the most likely thing. After several minutes of nearly dismantling something it turned out not to be, all the while thinking to myself, 'I know the owner I'll replace it if I can't get it back together' I spotted another suspect, but I was weary. ....Looked elsewhere. Went back to my original find. Feeling a little silly by now. A car pulled up. It was someone who made a wrong turn. I headed back to the car for a re read and scan of past activity. I plucked up some courage, and the log was soon in hand. Made me smile so a fave from me. Thanks TwigNZ.

Out and about with Flowerydaze on a perfect winter's day to drive up from Paraparaumu to find a few caches. This one made me smile, I missed where it was at first but after a minute or two Flowerydaze had the cache in hand. A tricky hide thanks TwigNZ

05-Jul-20
Talla64 and I chose a perfect winter's day to drive up from Paraparaumu to find a few caches. This one made me smile, Ididn't click to where it was at first but after a minute or two I had the cache in hand. Lots of muggles in cars passed us as we were at GZ and I wonder if they wondered what we were doing. Thanks for the cache TwigNZ, nice handiwork.

26-May-20
Yay - Alert Level 2 of the COVID-19 pandemic allows more freedom to travel the countryside finding cool geocaches like this which have been on my radar for some time.
I have found the CO's twin to this one in Palmerton North so the cache was easy to spot.

Often I pass here and the traffic or weather or number of muggles in the cafe car-park has put me off stopping... but as I frequently visit my elderly Dad in Kapiti I have had plenty of opportunities. Finally today I did the deed and was pleased to find the cache in great condition with a nice dry log sheet.

As I was replacing it I noticed I had almost put it back upside down - that would be no good! soon reversed and it is back in place awaiting more visits. TFTC TwigNZ

26-Jan-20
Spotted it while driving up to collect the final of the nearby puzzle cache, so a very quick find. It helps when you know what you're looking for!

19-Jan-20
Couldn't resist doing a detour on our way home coming from Whanganui. Another one of your great innovative caches and another FP from me. Didn't take long to find. Cache name is very fitting. Thanks for placing this cache TwigNZ

Having already found Peligroso! on the He Ara Kotahi cycle track I was able to locate this one quickly. Neatly crafted TwigNZ, thanks!

Searched a couple of other likely possibilities before spotting this clever cache. Worth a favourite thanks TwigNZ. TFTC # 14,945

03-Nov-19
Aha, peligroso, I must remember that word. It took us a minute or 3 here, then we saw something that didn't quite belong and sure enough we had found the cache. Thanks! Good one.

30-Oct-19
After a big day in the outskirts of Levin, Etherlord and I are on our way home.Stopped off here along the way. Took a while to find the cache, only because I didn't actually see it, too much time looking for the usual culprits. As soon as I saw it I knew it for what it was and soon we were on our way. Log is very slightly damp, but not a problem.

09-Oct-19
Nice to finally get this one as we had great intentions of being at the event on the day of release.
Enjoyed the different hide
Thanks TwigNZ

*Thanks for helping make our drive / walk around fun!*
SL Nicely done!

08-Oct-19
We found the Northland version of this cache. So we decided to find one further south.
We're going from Hamilton to Wellington with a few diversions. I fly out tonight.

Yay school holidays! Time for a road trip with my friend Ethness. I flew from Christchurch to Wellington. The idea is to drive up to the top of the North Island and back. We planned the trip ages ago.

Thanks TwigNZ for placing this geocache 7880 find for me.

Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

08-Oct-19
Managed not to touch any electric fences today -thankfully. They do seem to like me. Another good hide.

The school holidays are here and NosyNel and I have been on a road trip north - to the far north. Today is the last day and we are heading home. TFTC. Signed NNES.

***======== NZ Mega 2020 ========](http://nzmega.com)***

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:

* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!

Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

A rather late log and so a rather arbitrary date around the school hols when i picked up grand daughter. But today i looked for caches on way to paekakariki and discovered this was still green. Hmm i thought i had located this!! anyway we stopped and i checked and yes both grand daughters and mine names are on the log so it is about time it was logged.
A have meet a coup[le of these before so i knew what to look for both this time and previously.
Thank you for this cache. now onto the letter box on the right date.

A nice quick find here straight after the nearby IGD event. Even though it was very close to the event venue, we decided to jump in the car to collect the two new caches, and were joined by a couple of others looking for the dry way to find the caches! Thanks for the shared FTF.

Found after a short search. Great hide. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Favorite point added.

After attending the International Geocaching Day event it was time to collect a cache or two, always great getting joint (FTF). a bit wet under foot and rain was not stopping for no one. TFTC lovely area I go past here nearly fortnightly but never have time to stop.

17-Aug-19
I walked the short distance from the event centre to find the first FTFer about to find the cache. A very nicely done hide indeed. I have since carried out a translation and can now see how everything relates.

Joint [FTF] with others that attended the nearby International Geocaching Day event. FP from me. Thanks TwigNZ for this new cache.

Good one TwigNZ, cheeky and sneaky! TFTC, favourite of the day for us.

17-Aug-19
We very much appreciated two new caches ( a puzzle and a traditional) being provided for us today at the International Caching Day Event (Horowhenua), with a joint FTF available and not too far from the venue either.
It was still pretty stormy, although fortunately had eased a bit, when some attendees began to move towards the door, so Mrs G quickly flung on her jacket and reached them just as they got to a vehicle. She hopped in, asking if she might join them - she didn't even know who the driver was. She doesn't make a habit of jumping into cars and driving off with strangers - only when geocaching! Thank you Andrew for doing the driving, and Chris for collecting the caches in the rain and handing them in to us in the car to sign - very civilised!
Mrs G was particularly attentive to how this one was hidden as she knows where there is another in the series, yet to get. It's a clever little hide. Gets a fav. TFTC and the {FTF}

17-Aug-19
This was the first stop after attending the "International Geocaching day" event at the near by cafe.
Fortunately it was a quick and straight forward find as the weather wasn't particularly pleasant for geocaching today. The hardest part was signing it without getting it too wet.
Thanks for setting up this nicely hidden cache, and for the joint {FTF}

Joint {FTF} with a group from today's event who braved the weather. A nice creative hide, well placed.
