A quick and easy park and grab, thankfully, as its getting pretty hot out here. Thanks GazaCasa!Today is day four of our Hervey Bay holiday. Today I jumped in the warthog and headed to the South-eastern corner of Hervey Bay. Stopping in Wondunna, Booral, Pir'ri reserve and River Heads. After fossicking around the mangroves I headed back north and stopped for a few more on the way home to go fishing. A great, but very warm day out!Heading north on a 5-day trip to Hervey Bay with the family has allowed me to go out and cache the surrounding area. I was able to cram the tredley into the back of the warthog and travel north, stopping a few times. Once to maintain a cache, and another to find a cache. I finally set sights on my destination, Torquay. Over the course of the few days I had, I cycled the new rail trail series of geocaches, did a combined day of shelling and caching Point Vernon, took a drive through Booral and River Heads, travelled to Howard, Torbanlea, Toogoom and Dundowran. On the final day I spot cached as I made my way south, stopping in Walligan, Susan River, Beaver Rock and Owanyilla. I then fought the southbound traffic for a while, then detoured via Yengarie and through Tiaro back to the sunny coast. All things considered, a great holiday and a productive one for geocaching! a MASSIVE thank you to all the COs that I found the caches of along the way!
While camping in the area for a few days with my geodog Scruffy , We had to get out and look for a few caches ...All Good .. TFTC ..
found it!! was with a newbie and she found it which was pretty exciting!! tftc <3
A few drops falling as I drove up to this one ... but it never amounted to anything. TNLNSL.TFTC ...
Found it on 23 June 2023 at 2:42 pm. Find number 1180 for this Pirate Lady. TFTC what a beautiful old fellar this trunk is.
A quick stop to find this one. One of the geoboys got it first. The lid was open to the elements with an old unusable pen stuck in the top.
Resealed it before putting it back.

We are staying at Maryborough for a short time and to help fill in our days we are exploring using geocaching as our guide. We found all the caches that we had targeted for today bar 1 and even with a PAF we had no luck.
One of hte caches bought us to the home of the CO where we had a lovely chat about all things geocaching and we were also offered a hint for the cache that we had not found. All the caches were in good condition and the log books did not need any attention. A huge thank you to all the CO's for placing these caches for our enjoyment.

Hi there GazaCasa, we found your cache BINGHAM TRAIL *7 today.
We started the day off by nominating a cache cluster in an area we would like to visit, and then took a route that was determined (mostly) by the next closest cache as determined by our GPS.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour around the area and ended up finding a variety of container types, sizes and ratings.
Coordinate Accuracy: We found this cache close to where our GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: Good, But the ants were not too pleased about us, disturbing their nest.
Regards
Ian & Penny

We are having a short stay in lovely Hervey Bay and had a great afternoon finding caches on our way in albeit we took a long way around. Most of the caches we found were placed by the same CO. This was one we found, log signed and replaced as found. Thanks GazaCasa.
Day 2 in Hervey Bay, our first full day. We decided to head back inland after working on a couple of Adventure Labs to search for some of the caches away from the coast and work our way round to River Heads.
At times it was tough going with quite a few micros in the bush. Some were in good condition and others poor, but we were reasonably successful.
Few muggles out there so that was a bonus and the scenery down at River Heads fantastic.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache GazaCasa.

Nice and easy, fun little hiding spot! Love the pen inside the cache! Phoenix and Lucas
Found while visiting friends in the Harvey Bay area for a few days. This was a quick find and the cache was OK. TFTC.
We turned out of Bingham Road and the Google lady we were following told us to turn left. I’m sure we could see and smell the cache and avoided her direction for a track off the highway that the locals had formed. Luckily we did because it led us right to the cache. tftc
Heading to Hervey Bay today with Selva Girls and picked up caches along the way and this was one of them. Once at GZ the hidey hole was empty so we replaced it with another mint tine and log. Log signed and all returned to its hiding spot.

Having spent night #2 camped at Maryborough Showgrounds (after an exhaustive day collecting the nearby powertrail caches plus a few extras) we scoffed down a quick breakfast before bidding new friends a fare thee well, with a promise to return tonight, and headed towards Hervey Bay for a little R&R ... well, a few more cache finds that is!
The weather has been amazing, all sunshine & fresh breezes ... so far ... so we thought we would tempt fate a little further.
#19 of 42 smilies today.
Another nice quick find.
We have NO IDEA how water got into this container but it has? [?]
Emptied the water, log is fine.
The cache had a guardian which was about 25cm in length & either a legless lizard or a juvenile snake.
Silvery grey in colour but too quick wriggling further into the cracked timber for me to get a photo.
I'm hoping legless lizard but they tend to have pointier heads than this critter had.
The movement was also more of a slither (evident with snakes) than a frantic wriggle (more commonplace with lizards).
Either way, please take care to avoid injury to both cachers or critter.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

We decided to start today with the caches @ Riverheads, working our way up.
We enjoyed the beautiful views and areas where we had been before and where we hadn't been before.
Thanks to all COs who placed caches here.
We will come back for sure.
