Having previously found Ruru in this spot I was disappointed to find an empty hole with no cache.
Had another go with a different GPS. It led me to the exact same spot fully of hidey holes. Still no joy though.
Took longer than expected because we didn’t want to get our hands dirty, we were determined to find it though. TFTC
As we are staying in the Top 10, we visited the playground and stopped for the cache nearby. Easy find, all good here. Both container and logbook were in good condition.
Came to Whangarei to play in the NZ Masters Squash....but always make time for a little bit of caching - especially when I come to a place I've not been to before.
My games are now finished (didn't quite make the finals LOL) - so this morning is an exploration day with a friend. She was keen on a big walk - so we came from our AirBNB to this walkway...then up to the lookout and down the other side before walking back along the waterfront and back through town to the Squash club. Was about 3 hours - with a few stops for caches.
I made the find here whilst my friend checked out the map boards... TFTC Riser5

931. I really don't enjoy caching in the rain but after a dnf on the cycleway I thought this cache would be a quick and hopefully not too wet find. I remember finding an owl here once and assumed GZ would be the same. Well it look a little longer than it should because i looked only with my eyes and my torch trying to stay dry. TFT(very wet dot day)C.
One of my Playcentres was closed yesterday so I decided to make that time up by visiting Kawakawa today. Being a dot day I figured a little detour to Whangarei would fill in the time nicely before heading back to Kerikeri to pick the kids up.
I was initially heading for a different cache in this reserve to avenge a dnf. I noticed half way there that it was no longer showing up on the map. Later on I discovered my data was off so no wonder the other caches weren't showing up on live maps. Doh!!
I took the old path from the bridge at the bottom back up to this cache which was an enjoyable wander. I do like old paths as they are more interesting than the broad and even modern paths.
A good choice of container here given the title. I'm not one for make up. In fact, I only own lipstick and that's often hard to find due to its infrequent use. I did however recognise the container from my Mums collection. An easy find at a familiar gz, thanks Nick l

Whilst the location seemed obvious locating the cache took a little longer. TFTC
Filling in the gaps in the calendar. Decided to grab this one after work. Nice quick find. Where did ruru go? Tftc
Managed to escape from the office for a few minutes to head up the road to have a quick look for this new cache. I had already got a cache at this location in a previous life. So was prepared and armed with my handy torch and soon had the cache located. TFTC
I have been here before too and it took forever to find last time too...we made a mountain out of this one but eventually got there. Thanks for the hide
Out doing the geocaching streak with Tikitour. Love this park and the walks here.
Found GZ, but finding the cache was a wee bit tricky, thanks to Mr Tikitour we were finally able to sign the log. Thanks.

Had a lazy Sunday sleep in this morning and it was almost 9:30 before I bothered to check my phone. Surprise, surprise, there were two new caches in Whangarei and not that far away either.
However, this one had been published two hours earlier, so I was sure it would have been found already. Casually out of interest though, I thought I should look to see who had the FTF, but there were no logs yet. Well maybe breakfast could wait..!! So, I grabbed my caching gear, jumped in the cache mobile and headed off.
Rurumoki Street was busy this morning, but I still managed to get my usual Parahaki walk parking spot. As I approached GZ, I was a little surprised, as I was sure I had been here previously for a cache. I guessed maybe that old one had been archived, but the hiding spot was still a good one, so that's where I looked first. It did take a minute or two though, before the cache was located and very happy to see a blank log. This becomes FTF number 113 for me and the log was signed @ 9:48. Had to wait a few minutes more before returning the cache safe and secure as found, due to a slow moving muggle couple wandering up the old path. TFTC
