Adelaide and South Australia Trip Christmas 2021/2022. Day 14. The next phase of my journey is underway. I am in Loxton with Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Sol de Lune and Smitten Granny to attempt to finish the On You Bike where-i-go caches. We have managed to solve them all before we arrived. Day 4 in the River land. There were two phases to today, first Sol de Lune, Smitten Granny and I went out and did the first 100 On you bike caches, as MinnieK and Fitzy_1965 did them last year. Then we all joined up and started the Multi series 'Around the world in 81caches'. Wow was that a challenge. So many trees and such small well hidden containers. We had to seek help on two, but eventually all the ones out here were done. We also did the traditionals and a puzzle in 'Bakara Conservation Park'. Remember, more water next time !
This trip to Loxton had been a year coming as I had missed out last year due to other commitments. The group had increased and the target list of caches was much higher. It had been a group effort to deal with all the jigsaw puzzles and then the Reverse Where-i-gos were sorted out with the various online tools. The trip was looking at risk as the COVID situation stretched and stretched, but at least SA kept to its plans to open the borders and we all jumped through the hoops required to get across the border. The weather was looking extreme as the journey approached and it did not disappoint. The daytime temps were from 36-42 over the days of this exercise and it made for some hard work and lots of water usage.
I think the trees are all gone.
Thanks.
Albida

Due to the recent storm activity and subsequent clean up of shattered trees and limbs, I reckon a check by the CO would be appropriate. No luck for us today. Searched for 10 minutes and then searched a little more. Thanks for bringing us here regardless.
Unfortunately the container appears to be missing, also had a good search in the wider area, checked hints and previous logs for clues.
There has been serious storm damage in the vicinity with large trees fallen and evidence of heavy equipment having been here.

Exploring the on your bike series we detoured into Loxton for lunch and got distracted by a few local caches and a Lab, this one was a quick find and surprisingly for a weekend muggle free

A plan was hatched with Rapidlywild to attack some of the caching trails down in VIC/SA. With the boarders slowly staying open we thought Easter might be a safe time to try since the QLD boarder was still too fragile to attempt going to the MEGA and it also looked like it could be rather wet there.
Our team “The Mob” consisted of GoodLook, LíB, Rapidlywild, The Drovers, feathertop and ourselves. This team ended up being very productive and some new friendships were made. Always a bonus in my book. All logs were stamped with “The Mob” to save space and time.
After completing all the trails, we had set out to do and a couple more for good measure it was time for this mob to go its separate ways.
It was now time to head home after doing numerous trails while in the area a great caching adventure. We decided to pick up ones around Loxton before leaving.
Another quick find here although we were being watched by the local grounds men.
Thanks for the hide Scholz3290 and for the fun Rapidlywild

For the first time in a long time, it was road trip time. With COVID-19 keeping everyone at home for so long, the borders were finally opening and the feet were itchy for a decent caching trip. Plans were made with FurfacesLL to do a 10 day road trip across to Mildura and Loxton to do a heap of caching and we were excited. Across the 10 days we racked up over 4,300km in driving, multiple hotels/motels, brought home enough red dust to create our own sand pit in the back yard and collected over 1800 finds between us. It was a massive trip and lots of fun was had.
We teamed up with GoodLook, FeatherTop, The Drovers and LiB and signed most logs as "The Mob". There were a few caches which were signed as individual team names as some teams had already completed said caches, those will be noted individually.
Our target caches were the Turtle Series, the Paddle Steamer Series and the On Ya Bike wherigo Series, heaps of other caches were also collected along the way but our primary target caches were completed which made us all very happy and very tired geocachers.
With the Turtle done, the PS Series done, the On Ya Bike done, the TdU & TdF done as well as the Riddlers done, our targeted caches has been accomplished. With the teams now split and it was back to FurfacesLL and myself, we had heaps to choose from. Today was cleaning up around Loxton and making our way over to Mildura for the night, before making our way back towards Wagga tomorrow.
A nice quick find here, was being watched by the groundsmen, had to try to not look suss, now onto the next find for the day.
Thanks for the hides Scholz3290 And thanks FurfacesLL for a trip to remember [^].

Found with GoodLook on the homebound journey.
Time to head home after a week long geo holiday. Travelling with GoodLook to Victoria from SA and back again. We Joined forces with other teams to do the Paddle Steamer Series, Turtle Series, On Your Bike series, TdU and any other caches we had time for.
Many logs were stamped "The Mob" while we cached as a group and at times we stamped individually.
Thanks for placing this cache for us to find while touring around.

This would have to have been one of the easiest caches found on this trip, literally a drive by.
LíB and I tackled these caches whilst in the area on our way back to Adelaide after a week away.
Most of the caches we found during our geo-vacation are stamped as The Mob (consisting of The Drovers, LíB, FurfacesLL, Rapidlywild, feathertop and myself), however a handful contain our own caching names or initials.
The series that we tackled during this trip included The Paddle Steamer, The Turtle, On Your Bike, Around the World, The TdU, The TdF and some Roonka puzzles put out for a June Long Weekend some time ago. Plus many random caches that we passed. So pleased we had a group of experienced cachers including tree and ladder climbers, AND a 7.5m ladder AND a 12m telescopic pole!
2020 was not a great year, and the beginnings of 2021 have also been tricky - so when it looked like the various borders would be open again (without quarantine restrictions), a trip was spontaneously planned and I was able to pull together a number of my caching friends who hadn't cached together before to form "The Mob".
LíB and I started in SA, drove to Victoria and ended our trip in SA; FurfacesLL and Rapidlywild came from Canberra and The Drovers began their journey from NSW; and then a few days later, feathertop from Victoria, joined us to complete the On Your Bike Series and other caches in SA.
We filled our days with piling in cars, hard core caching, Adventure Labs, crazy funny CB radio chatter, some laughter, some tense moments (OMG some of the ladder and tree climbs on this trip were crazy!), lots of lovely meals and even live music from a band called "Kung Fu Jesus" - nope, that is no joke.
We had hot weather each day (well into 30s), so I am thrilled that I now own a car fridge to keep the drinks icy cold (loving them at about 1 degree celcius).
A sincere thanks to Scholz3290 for placing this cache.

Found it. Couldn’t find 2 months ago. Drove by after picking up my son from footy and saw it on the ground. Luck I’d say. Don’t know where it should be, I placed it ‘high’. TFTC.
A nice stop on our journey across the country from Adelaide to Brisbane with Davidwazza! TFTC!
Moving from Adelaide to Brisbane, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I decided to drive the long distance to make the opportunity a holiday, taking 12 days and passing through Victoria, New South Wales, and then finally arriving in Queensland. We spent the first few days in SA's Riverland, visiting Morgan, Berri and Renmark; and then drove through Mildura in Victoria. In NSW, we stopped at Hay, Parkes, Merriwa, Tamworth, Port Macquarie, and Coffs Harbour, and then entered Qld to stop for a night in Robina in the Gold Coast.
Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I travelled around the Murray Riverlands, visiting Loxton, Paringa, and Renmark. We started the day from Berri, travelling south and finding a few miscellaneous geocaches. Once at Loxton, we completed the *Historical Loxton* Adventure Lab, found a few geocaches along the river, and then had lunch in town. We then drove towards Paringa, and took a walk around Murtho and Headings Cliffs. We then proceeded back through Renmark, and finished off our evening with a walk at Wilabalangaloo and completing the Berri *A River Contemplation* Adventure Lab.
We had a good look here, but given a number of previous finds were reasonably quick, it suggested that this cache was missing. After exhausting all possible hiding spots, we thought we would help the CO by replacing the cache on their behalf. A nice spot to admire the sports epicentre of Loxton. Thanks Scholz3290 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

That list of things that I would not know existed, if not for geocaching, grew today as I attended a CITO in a wetland that I knew nothing about[^]
During the CITO, my conversation with Otter61 turned to Aussie M & M[:X] which led to a phone call, a pick up[^] and a trip to Tailem Bend[^] to attend a CITO there which was being hosted by some Canberrians
By day's end I'd attended 2 CITO events and found 19 caches for the total of 21 [^]

Tankengine and I were on our way from Tailem Bend to Berri today.
We had plans to pick up a few caches here and there, concentrating on only a special few as we didn't have time to do whole power trails or clear out towns.
This cache: Found on the ground. Was looking for something different, but found none the less. Tftc Scholz3290!!!

Today was a big day with quite a lot of driving and not a lot of caches found but all in all a bit of fun, I started and finished the day in Adelaide going via tailem bend for a bike race at the bend before heading up to berri for an event and finding a few caches around the river land before heading back to Adelaide. Total of 42 finds plus 1 lab cache to finish of a series in the Barossa.
Thanks for the cache

Wow great oval and facilities. What a massive mower does the grounds here, puts our little ride on to shame. Its always good to see money put into country sport but it would be good sometimes to give the kids things to do like movie cinemas. Although they should all be out caching. Found your cache, signed the log and replaced the cache as found.
We came to the Riverland to do our regional getaway and had been hoping to visit up this way for quite some time. It seems like a lifetime ago we had an orange block out at Sunlands, you just cant beat a fresh orange straight off the tree. These days we dont even like buying bags of citrus from the supermarket as we know they arent anywhere near as fresh and juicy as they should be. It was a sttruggle to find some places to stop for food as so many were still being very conscious of the Covid 19 threat but we muddled through. We allowed ourselves the luxury of not necessarily clearing out every cache in an area we just ambled along finding random caches so we had a more relaxing trip, gives us a reason to return another time.
Thanks Scholz3290 for the cache and some local history.

I started 2020 with some improbable caching goals that only lasted until mid February.
Then came Covid-19 and caching began to take a back seat.
I even managed a 23 day NO FINDS streak! [:(!] Then caches started to slowly get published again and it was time to go back to socially responsible caching again. So I joined Anymules for a for a jaunt through some well visited parks on our way to Loxton and returning via the Wandering Heroes trail.
Arriving in Loxton we found the only place for food was the local Pizza Bar. Over an hour wait meant we could head out and grab a few caches. [^] As you do. A quick stop and a quickish find after a short search by torchlight.

Find #10980.
Leaving Geelong on Monday and travelled up to Nhill, next morning back on the road with the caravan behind which makes it a little harder to cache along the way.
After arriving at the park in was a quick set up and out the door with Phetlern, au.fait, and suscoe to find a few of the local caches.
Thanks Scholz3290 for placing.
Sorry about the cut and paste log but I have at least 200 plus to go.

Arrived in Loxton to team up with Suscoe, Phetlern and Bushfire for a few days of caching. After setting up camp we headed out to find a few in the local area. A quick find here TFTC Schilz3290
Suscoe was out in the great company of au.faye, Phetlern and Bushfire this afternoon.
We had all arrived at Loxton and with a few hours up our sleeves we headed off to find a few caches.
Thanks to Scholz3290 for this hide.

Out and about around Loxton, in the very good company of fellow "Geelong" cachers, Au.fait, Bushfire and Suscoe, after they had set up camp for our planned riverland rendevous.
This one was waiting on the ground to greet us! Added a fresh log including our names to the log and returned more securely - as per hint.
Our thanks to 'Scholz3290' for placing this cache for us to find.

Out for a short but busy holiday with sir_spectre. Today was our last day and we needed to travel home in time to be ready for work the next day. So another early start to see how many we could find while wandering home.

Day 4 Monash B and B to Adelaide
Found with mogni. Slowly heading in the direction of home. Stopped in loxton for a few caches before keeping going. I'll leave the rest for the next trip. quick find.
Myself and mogni came up to the river land to go to MacCabe Corner and find the virtual there plus drive the mail trail in murray sunset national park plus the 4 x 4 track in cooltong national park. The original idea was to go through to mildura but with weather 37, 45 , 37 degrees fore cast we changed plans and stayed in monash instead. Any caches that where found damaged where replaced and any logbooks found full or with 2 or 3 spaces left where replaced.

We stopped here on our day trip to Loxton and had our lunch. With not a person in sight made for an easy retrieval. Thanks for highlighting this area!
Walked past a group of guys about to start a cricket game, then made the find with help of the hint. Log signed
Given how busy this place will be over the next few days due to the Loxton Show, decided to call past and collect another smiley. Already lots of action going on. Pleased to be able to collect Silver on this one, as I missed the original notification! Glad you managed to sort out your coordinate problems, Scholz3290, and sorry I wasn’t able to catch up with you at the recent event. Happy you are enjoying your new hobby! Cache #3015.
