Find#1954Found today on our first day caching around Goulburn. Me and Shaneo58 are down here to work on some challenge caches near home in the Hunter valley and trying to claim some unique DTs to fill our grid also. After arriving here we made a quick find at Gz. Cache and log in good condition TFTC

Out caching today with friends. 4 of us having a fun time each trying to be the first to get a hold of the cache. We signed as team JARS to save log room. Joojoo57, Aussie Liahona, RichmondLad and Selva Girls. Many thanks to all the COs who hid the caches we found today for ensuring this was a great caching day while we were attending the MEGA. The JARS team are out and about again today and hitting the roads from Sutton to Gundaroo and Dalton and finally Gunning. Great weather and many caches found. Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining the caches for our enjoyment.

Reperio 15:56Day 5 of our Capital GeoBash mega event trip to Canberra with Miss Vitruvius, and today it was time to head home, but not before finding plenty of caches. We decided to line up the caches around the Sutton area, which had plenty of high DT caches, and plenty of easier ones as well. After the busy (and wet) summer had finished, The Rats floated the idea of a trip to the area around Canberra and Yass with Steeba and myself. We compared diaries, and had a two day mid-week window where we could make things happen, in the week wedged between Easter and ANZAC Day.

The weather was on our side for the first time in I forget how long, and we were able to make the most of our time opportunity.

A lot of excellent caches were found, and some fantastic terrain caches too. A few power trails, some crafty hides, some hard hides, and even some climbs that I could not do... even with our ladder!

Thank you to all of the cache owners for placing their hides. This boiler plate log does not reflect the quality of the hides. Most importantly thanks as always to my two great caching mates for their company!

The Gong Gangsters (steeba, Hoojar and The Rats) took advantage of an extended Easter / Anzac break to head out for another caching juggernaut through the Southern Highlands and Yass regions. Blessed with beautiful weather we targeted a few powertrails and high D/T rated caches.

After 2 full days we'd collected a plethora of finds, made some new friends, laughed alot, pushed our bodies beyond the comfortable level and most of all - had a great time with mates. Thanks to all the CO's for your caches and those who tagged along.

The Rats, Hoojar and myself teamed up for an assault in and around the Yass area for a couple of days- a most enjoyable caching trip with my mates. Plenty of power trail type finds but a lot of great variety here and there, particularly around Yass itself. We started off on Wednesday night and finished up Friday afternoon. TFTC!

On a lone road trip from home to Canberra to pick up the missus, and as I was alone, I thought I’d try out this alternative route to Canberra that I’ve been wanting to try out for some time now. We often stop at Gunning on our Melbourne trips for a nice break and coffee at our now favourite cafe there, but to my dismay, the cafe wasn’t operating this morning due to a blackout. Never mind, there just happens to be a few caches between here and my destination, I’ll just have to pick up a few along the way.
Loving the drive on Gundaroo Road, pulled up nearby to this hide, a quick walk and a quick find. Signed log and replaced.

Such a snakes walk in. But quick find and all good with cache.
Decided to finally pick up the caches on the road to Gunning. Barb2e and hatched a plan to head out and find the ones we could.

#1777 I thought I had encountered another cacher here, seeing another chap wandering around in the grass. My quest however took me beyond where he was looking and I managed a find deeper into the grassland. Nicely placed and in good condition. TFTC!

#11938 - 8:38:00 AM; Out on a solo mission this morning to complete another calendar day challenge. No problems as I worked my way through another batch in this series. All caches were found and apart from a couple of larger containers showing signs of fatigue, all were in good order. A bit damp in a couple of spots and a few potholes in the road at the far end, but all up a successful run. TFTC DARKSIDEDAN

Another day, although it's the last one, along these particular back roads grabbing a few caches to add to the days total. No problems with any of them, no problems with any parking, and all caches were in good condition, minus one or cracked containers that haven't impacted on the log book.

Thanks DSD...first time along one of these and it made for a neat loop back to Gundaroo.

Today we visited a number of caches to the north of Murrumbateman. We enjoyed the areas through which we travelled but became frustrated with the number of caches that needed attention.

Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. This cache was in reasonable condition. Thanks DARKSIDEDAN for this and the many caches you have placed in a wide area.

We had a great time driving along and looking for as many as we could in this series. Not sure how many we found but will keep an eye out as we log them and then let you know on the last one we get to do. Not sure if we will have time for all of them but we are certainly going to learn a lot. Glad it wasn't a hot day as the grass was rather long here. Thank you for the work that you have gone to placing yet another series for us all to enjoy.

Thanks for the hides

Day #1: With a long weekend off, I decided on coming to Canberra for it. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any accommodation for the Saturday night, so instead, I ended up with a single night but that doesn’t matter. I’m sure I’ll enjoy my Geocaching trip still. I started the Saturday with avenging some DNF’s as well as finding newer caches along ‘Sutton Rd’ to my accommodation in Queanbeyan. Yes, this did include finding the new AL in ‘Gundaroo’ which was great fun and full of history lessons to learn about. After finding these caches, I then booked into accommodation and have a late lunch. Afterwards, I decided on doing the new AL in Queanbeyan. I also decided on walking from my accommodation and visit some of the other caches around. After a rest and dinner, I went and did some night caching. Only two find for this and both were quick finds. Now time to get some sleep.

Day #2: After a great night sleep, I went to attack the GCA ALF trail and the Starwars Letterbox trail plus a few loose caches that were along the way. I started by re-attempting the new AL bonus cache in Queanbeyan but unfortunately, I needed to leave with a DNF again. Well, time to head over to the ALF trail and get started on my bush walk. I collected a couple before I got there. It took about 1h40m for the walk which was a lot, lot faster than when I did it back in 2016 for the GC version of these. It was great fun and full of great views… again. The area has changed a bit since last time. After having a break, it was time to start the Starwars trail. I drove to the end of the trail and worked my way back to the start of the trail. After this I knew I was nearby(ish) a cache that would fill in a gap in my Jasmer grid (May 2017). This is a rare month for me to find because the closest couple to my home coordinates were Canberra and Albury. These are 2.25h of driving each way (totalling 4.5hours) before finding caches and all other driving plus meals. In other words, a big day. It feels great to finally have this finally done. Now time for lunch. After lunch, I decided on collecting some more of the UGC caches, that I qualify for and then it was time to head home from my trip away.

All found caches were a mixture of both GC and GCA caches. TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all the CO’s of the caches I found and for allowing them to bring me and others enjoyment. TFTC’s

The weather is not promising to be nice this week. So best to make the most of it before it set in. The plan was to grab the new Adventure Labs in Goulburn and Crookwell as well as any solved puzzles, virtuals etc. I was not too ambitious and it all went surprisingly well with only 2 DNFs. The weather, while not warm, held off for the most part. I think this is my 3rd visit to Crookwell and there's not much left to do after today. Most places were pretty quiet, being midweek, but still ran into a few locals.

Decided to grab as many of these on the way back home as I could before light and or rain made it too difficult.

An exciting early morning caching session out in the country. A little nippy, but the heat was on, find as many caches within the allotted time. With excellent eyes they came thick and fast, only the odd hide here and there testing hunting skills. By the time the whistle blew near on 30 smiles added. I headed out after work to visit the Australian animal series caches between Gundaroo and Yass. It all went very smoothly, I even found the one I had missed back in February. It was almost dark when I finished and headed home for dinner.

Below is a blurb about us.
We are trying to get a badge from Project-GC for writing found log files of 100 words or more. Once we get this badge we will stop writing this. We are also trying to
get badges for adding photos to our found logs.
We Started caching in December 2019 and by January 2020 we were hooked. As we are on the road full time (living in a caravan), caching fits in well with this lifestyle.
It is taking us to places that we would normally not have gone.
When we move to a new place we also look at what caches are in the area and how many days we will need to be there to get the caches we want.

While still based at Yass we meandered around different localities finding caches. Yours was one we targetted and found. Our thanks to DARKSIDEDAN for placing this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.

We decided to FFLLNo 2’s “muggle sister” out for drive around the area and collected some caches as we toured around taking in the sights. The weather was great, sun shining and not much wind. An enjoyable day all round, lots of laughs, and almost converted her to take up the game.

We decided to head to this trail and make a start, with the exception of one container we found them all in good order. Thanks DARKSIDEDAN for the placements, we look forward to finishing this trail soon.

There is a nice, shady lunch spot about 100m away and QBNFM comes through loud and clear. There is a real smoke haze on the hills, making the wind turbines look fuzzy and a bit eerie. They do a good job, though. No pythons around here, thank goodness.

A big day of caching with J+J.AU today. Starting in Mos Vale with a few quick aches just as light starts to appear. Then a long drive to and through Canberra to get to the part of the Murrumbidgy we were targeting today do finish of the vampire series. A lot of walking for some great d/t ratings and half of the time tracks were not really there! Of track is no problem however and enjoyed the day and perfect weather. Made such good progress that time was left to pick up a few more in the Australian animal series on the way home.

Wilbert67 came out caching with us today. Huge effort was made. We decided to pick up these animal series as we’re headed home. TFTC DSD

While still camping this area with ilook4geo, we decided to look for some of the caches placed in honour of our native wildlife. Each creature was successfully found and two more lots of initials were noted in their visitors' books. Many thanks go to DARKSIDEDAN for creating and maintaining this extensive series. We hope to do more of these cachers at a later date.

We enjoyed doing some more of the Australian Animal series today with goingplaces2. Driving in the country is so much more pleasurable than in cities, so we enjoyed this tour. All caches were found, signed and hidden again. TFTC.

18,747. Headed out for a fun meander around the countryside with GSC2000 today collecting a nice haul of caches.

Seeing some new Australian Animal Series out our way we proceeded out there first to grab them. No problems were encountered and all the caches were found quickly at GZ. I enjoyed my second trip out this way this month !
