We continue on our road trip through New Zealand. First up north, then as far as Stewart Island. Old caches in particular are on our radar, but of course we don't waste any that just happen to be there. This was one of them. Thank you very much for storing and caring for it! All answers were send by -moge-. I'm sorry for my late log. To busy to be on holiday.
Hallo HairyLittleDwarf Maintained by the.pud,On third day of our travelling through Aotearoa Dr Donna and myself only went up further north. Day 4 of our northland road trip. Enjoyed finding this old cache on a nice sunny day. Answers sent to the CO. Thanks for setting it up
We didn't miss this cache on our trip through New Zealand. So I drove to this property and looked for the answers. Then the photo was taken and then we continued through this beautiful country. The Knuffelbren from Nuremberg say thank you for showing us.
We are staying the bay here and could’ve walked to the cache. But after a day of rainy showers and caching, we decided to drive here before heading over to the Thai restaurant, where we had a wonderful meal. So good that we had to get some air before entering the vehicle which rolled us up te hill again.
Back to this cache. It had an eggselent description with an easy question to answer. We love simple caches! A favourite point for this virtually neighbouring cache from the bnb we’re staying at. Thanks for placing and maintaining the cache!

spent 6 great weeks in New Zealand with my The start was a bit bumpy (Cyclone Gabrielle) but then it got better and better. We travelled to both islands and discovered a lot. We photographed and filmed many beautiful things, but most of it stayed in our hearts.
Almost everywhere we stopped, a cache was already waiting for us. Most of the caches are well maintained and easy to find.
With mostly very nice weather, we saw a lot of this impressive island. In many places, caches were waiting for us, which were sometimes easy and sometimes difficult to find. This cache was also included and was successfully signed
We puzzled a lot in advance and the tours were well prepared
So this box was also well found.
now I have another on my personal cache card.
many thanks to [^] **HairyLittleDwarf Maintained by the.pud** [^] for the effort and the cache and greetings from Germany

Day 6 - Kaitaia to Bay of Islands via Cape Reinga. Another long day.
This one looked interesting.
If it wasn't near the end of a long day we would have cracked up laughing after telling some yokes but we couldn't think of any... But here is one:
Why do hummingbirds hum?
Because they don’t know the words!

Came down here, wasn’t expected the egg, but had heard about it years ago. Great view of the bay. Thanks for this virtual (answers sent)
We passed the day north of Paihia. First in Kerikeri and then in Mangonui. We were lucky with the weather, sun shine the whole day.
Curious after reading the cache description, we went to GZ. Big enough for a huge omelette

It was a nice surprise to find an old virtual here.So while driving north could not miss it. Took two passes before I saw the info needed. Thanks for the oldie and greetings from Finland.

️ Parking ️ was wonderful. It made finding this cache really enjoyable. An interesting spot, very sheltered from the wind, with great views. I sent in our answers to the CO for JDScout and myself.
A nice find this one. I liked the little story behind this, the way the road has been named and the cache page is well done too. It’s caches like this that take you to places and show you things you would normally walk straight past.
TFTC the pud.
Day 11 of our Northland trip, and today was Paihia to Whatuwhiwhi.
A couple of stops in Kerikeri on the way up for supplies and other shopping, and also to check out the Rainbow Falls, which we missed on the first time through the town.
Then it was north to Mangonui, the main stop on our trip for the day.
We spent some time here, and enjoyed it. Knocked off the Adventure Lab, picked off another few choice caches also, as well as the bonus.
We had lunch of fish and chips over the water at the fish shop (guess you have to tick that one off), and had some successful shopping for RG72.
Then it was off to the Karikari peninsular for our accomodation for the next couple of nights. The place looks great!
Thanks all COs for hiding and maintaining.

Its not that long since we visited this area, but I hadn't noticed how old this virtual is, and I love getting the older caches.
The forecast had been for rain all day, but the sun is out now, although it is pretty humid. So I figured I might as well go for a walk to get this.
There's so many points of interest as you walk along, which are great to see. This egg is definitely a great story, thanks for highlighting it.

A beauty spot up here, must be really quite lovely in the summer vs the current overcast and cool winter's day.... A short diversion after lunch at the chippe and AdLab on our way south, a curious dog wondering what I was up to. Cheers
#11,112. I realised recently when looking at some Northland caches that I forgot to log my virtual and earthcache finds from my Northland trip several months ago as I didn't have internet access while camping out in the north. I visited Mangonui at New Year. It was packed with cars on the main drag especially near the place selling those awesome icecreams in a cone. But the street with the silver egg was rather quiet when I parked nearby. Didn't take much time to locate. Intriguing bit of local art and a quirky feature I would have overlooked without the virtual cache to highlight it. Reminds me a bit of the cannonball stuck in the wall of a building in Copenhagen. Without the virtual cache you would have missed the plaque describing that relic of a past war. Thanks HairyLittleDwarf for setting it up and the.pud for maintaining the virtual.
What a funny little spot!!
Makes you wonder what he was thinking when he did it!
Anyway, thanks for the fun virtual!

Found with Flowerydaze on our Northern explorer tour. Beautiful area we admired all the boats. Some were decked out with lots of flags, must have been something of an event. Answers have been sent to CO and that's my hand on the egg in the photo. Thanks for the virtual the.pud
Talla64 and I stopped here to admire the boats, the scenery and enjoy the lovely weather. We are visiting from Kapiti and doing a spot of caching (a lot actually). We were amused by this egg and wondered why Mr. McKay had placed it here. Perhaps a visit to the i-site is called for. Messaged the CO with the answers.

What an awesome find. Humpty would indeed be proud.
To celebrate my 40th Birthday (which was during lockdown) with Yvettetb we are trying to find 40 caches on our 40 hour adventure. We started this morning at 8am in Russell and heading North to Coopers Beach via roadside caches & Mangonui. We love sudoku (the 1st one was easy, 2nd one was challenging) and learnt about KenKen to solve another puzzle. Ending today's adventure with the night in Paihia

On a road trip with Rebel98 we thought we should get cracking before heading home. The carpark was full with boats and trailers, but we found a sneaky park and made our way to gz where we found something that we were not expecting. Answers have been sent to the CO. Thank you for bringing us here to a place, where we would not have been without geocaching.
As I imagine has happened many times over, there was much speculation as we drove towards GZ as to what we would find. Well, long story short, we didn't have a clue. Of course, as we arrived all was revealed. Awesome . Answers sent. TFTC .

Today, Friday, I am on a mission with FMZ and rustynz to complete the top half of the North Island for this new PWGT series of caches. We left at 4:30am from FMZ’s place. And plan to pick up other caches as well if they happen to be there too. This is an excellent tour, FMZ is doing all the driving in his 4WD.
I have been meaning to get this virtual for quite some time, and I had said to FMZ we MUST get this one while doing the new PWGT. He agreed and rusty wanted it too. So here we are, saw the plaque and we took fotos. Rusty sent the info thru on our behalf, thanks for that Sharon. Then we wandered around taking fotos. I love panorama fotos at the moment, so will add one on the cache page. Now it’s time to do one more cache before early dinner at Mongonui fish n’ chip shop.

Day one of a five day North Island Pokai Whenua GeoTour expedition collecting all the geotour caches for PWGT Tahi and PWGT Rua. 3550km travelled over 5 days, 70 geotour caches found. Today we travelled from Auckland to Auckland via Pukenui. Our group consisted of Gorby, rustynz, boneybruce and myself.
I've actually been here before and collected the answers but obviously forgot about this cache. So today, with gorby, rustynz, and boneybruce, I've completed it. Nice spot. Thanks HairyLittleDwarf.

I am using the excuse of friends of mine getting married in Northland this weekend to finally get to do what I have wanted to do for over 30 years now, visit 90 Mile Beach and Cape Reinga.
And of course whilst doing that I'm also making the most of a rare opportunity to grab a whole bunch of caches that either help me with my Jasmer grid, my Hidden Dates grid, or else are part of the TMGT, or lastly because they are an Earthcache or a Virtual which I like doing.
Cape Reinga roadtrip day 5 - the drive back from Cape Reinga to Auckland.
It was going to be a very busy day, trying to get as much caching done as I made the long winding way from Cape Reinga back to the hustle and bustle of Auckland to catch my breath before tomorrows final push back home to the lower North Island to finish what would end up being a 2300km round trip.
There was only a couple of locals going about their business as I parked up as near to GZ as possible and my only concern was the intermittent rain. The seclusion of GZ meant I could gather the info needed without having to be too surreptitious. I took a few photos (to be uploaded later today when I'm home again) and gave the egg a rub for good luck lol!
Thanks for the old school Virtual cache.
