Out exploring with Mr C's cousin from Hokitika. Walked to the rock and did the photos then stopped on the way home for this cache. The container had water in it and the log was a piece of mush. Tipped out the water and added a replacement log of write in the rain paper. Thanks for the cache here maitahisteve.
Parked up to look at the rock. Thats a bigun! Grabbed this one on the way back. TFTC
This was a quick stop on our way to the Rock. No problems here - the cache was exactly where I expected it to be.
After years on our bucket list and three cancellations due to Covid, we are thrilled to finally be here. Following several cruises we flew from Sydney, Australia to Wellington, New Zealand to begin our next adventure. Picked up our rental vehicle and will be driving, exploring, hiking, and caching both islands for 3.5 weeks. After hunting the nearby earthcache we stopped for this traditional cache. It was still steadily raining, but we quickly located the container and added our ink to the log. With the lousy weather there weren't any muggles on the trails today. Thanks for adding to our adventure today, Nukeworker and Racquetball Girl, Arkansas, USA
To wet to log the cache. Nice to see the canal after seeing the rock. Tftc
Yes with great weather today we visited the huge rock very interesting..enjoyed the walk and history ..thanks for the cache all good and tidy here
After two great bike rides today, we ended up here. The logs x 2 are mush and need maintenance. Thanks for bringing us here, maitahisteve
My first find while spending a few days on the west coast. First of many using double containers is not something we see in Canterbury; TFTC
Thanks for your amazing cache. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches.
Found with Fisha1288
Cheers, Cympull.

Found it! All though might need some maintenance as it wasn’t closed and hits of water damage
We have been saving caches in Kumara for when we might need a cache for a certain day/souvenir but as we have some saved ones 'closer to home' today we decided to go and clean them up and finally grab the Adlab aswell, with potential to squeeze in a few new placements.
While navigating that sudden drop in the road we passed GZ and we parked down below so I walked back up to find the cache. This style of cache is not waterproof and was again full of water. The dry piece left by the last cachers has started to get wet aswell but we managed to add our initals. This one needs a different style container. Thanks for the cache

It was pouring with Rain and we found the Log Book is full and also sopping wet. We've left a dry piece of paper with our name on..
But you might like to check it out and put a proper LogBook in..TFTH

Today we travelled from Westport to Greymouth, finding a bunch of caches along the way. Once we had our accommodation sorted we had time for a drive south to Kumara, and a few more finds. We called by to find the PWGT cache near here, and then decided to re-visit the Londonderry Rock. It is even bigger than I remember. On the way back we stopped to find this trad. All good here, thanks.
Quick find before the drive back over the mountains and nap time for the kiddos. Thanks!
I couldn't bike to Londonderry Rock but was pleased to find this one, thanks maitahisteve. What an interesting area.
#10,056. Day 2 of the extended Labour Weekend geocaching road trip. I flew down with geocaching buddy Infoferret yesterday with a target list of geotour caches, adventure labs, puzzle finals, a few virtuals and a hike to get the DGSC final. We can't resist stopping to pick up a few traditionals on the way to boost the overall numbers.
There are quite a few caches in this area along walkways and I would have liked to got to them all. But its very late in the day now so this one traditional will have to suffice and will return another day for the rest. Luckily a nice simple find here. Signed and replaced the cache where found. Thanks maitahisteve for the cache.

After eating our bacon butty at the campervan we walked to the rock. We picked this one up on the way back. I wish I'd brought my tweezers.
We were supposed to be going on a tiki tour of Northland. However, level 3 in that area changed our plans.
So JDScout and I are doing a loop trip with our camper van. From Christchurch to Ross to Fox to Haast to Lake Hawea and back home.
To add extra excitement to our trip we are geocaching too. Thanks for hiding this cache maitahisteve I appreciate it.

It's 11 years since I visited the Londonderry Rock for the moneydork cache - this find was a lot quicker. TFTC # 17,388
Quickly found today as we take a short detour to go and look at Londonderry rock. On our way over to the coast to do the wilderness bike trail. Beautiful winters day. Thanks for the cache maitahisteve
I always pass here and think I should stop. Finally today. All quiet here today. A cool place to visit. TFTC
This one didn't take too long to find before I backed up slightly and headed down to the car park.
Thanks for this cache, maitahisteve. The Londonderry Rock has tantalised me on my last few trips in this direction - so we set aside time to explore here today (had to keep a close eye on time because the Pass is closing overnight for a few nights).
Quick find, thanks - and now off to the EC.

Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on the many wet or plastic logs)
*We soon had another good cache located!*
Great location and nice to walk back to see the rock again.

Day 4 of my 2020 NZE (New Zealand Experience).
(My apologies for the delayed logging but I'm in catch-up mode)
Seeing as I can't be in America right now, I'm touring around the South Island instead. During my time here I am aiming to find as many of the TMGT caches as I can (preferably all 41) and also as many Virtuals, Earthcaches and Letterbox Hybrids as possible, plus any Trads or others that will fill a hole in my D/T grid, my Jasmer grid, or else the last 3 remaining Hidden Dates on that grid.
Today was my drive from East to West. Kicking off the day near Sheffield, I was finally going to drive over Arthurs Pass and hoped to end up in Greymouth by the time the sun was setting. I've only ever been over this pass on the Tranz Alpine many many years ago so I was taking my time and enjoying the drive.
Parking up, there was no-one else around to disturb me whilst I looked for this one. It took a short while whilst I searched a few likely spots before I came across the cache. There were no issues with any aspect of this cache, so the log was swiftly signed and everything replaced exactly as found, and I was back on my way again. I picked up the TB that I found here.
Thanks for placing this cache.

Second week of school holidays and off on a small family camper van holiday between kids football games & practices! West Coast here we come.
After another night in Hokitika. Up early again to catch reflections in Lake Mahinipua. Then a lovely walk to the beach...and now the back road through goldsborough to stay the night in Jacksons. Fun wee side loop. Left the camper up on the road as was approaching from the wrong direction and didn't fancy getting stuck turning down! Ah well. A nice walk in and a grand glacial erratic at the end. Remember coming here a few years ago to look for a now archived cache which next to no one ever found....it was out past the erratic in the rock garden & the hint was 'under a rock' and to co-ords weren't flash...hence next to no one ever finding it. Ah well. Archived now! Righto. Onwards to Jacksons for the night & then home. A fun wee camper adventure with the family. Last cache of the trip. Cheers!

took the short detour from the cycleway to see this spectacular rock got a bit confused as GPS pointed away from the rock but found on 2nd attempt just following GPS and not the signs. tftc
I started my great and unique round trip over the South Island in Christchurch.
My first major stopover was at Lake Tapeko - here I hiked up to Observation Mountain.
I then planned two days in Mount Cook NP with some unforgettable hikes. My big goal was the Mueller Hut - on a super strenuous hike I reached it.
I continued my journey over the lonely Danseys Pass to Dunedin.
Afterwards I drove along the Southern Scienic Route via Invercargill to Manapouri for some days. On this route I visited many sights and enjoyed the beautiful nature again and again.
I already booked a tour to the Doubtful Sound in advance - another highlight on my tour.
Afterwards I drove on to Queensown and Wanaka. From there I continued over the Haast Pass to the lonely Jackson Bay with storm and heavy rain. Afterwards I drove along the west coast always in pouring rain.
The rain stopped the whole west coast, but I had good rainwear with me. Only high up in Nelson the sun shone again.
Soon I reached the east coast again in Picton and Blenheim and the sun was shining again.
After a few days I travelled back to Christchurch via the beautiful town of Kaikoura.
At the end of my round trip I spent a few more days in Christchurch and its surroundings.
I visited many geological sites and found many caches on my round trip. In Rangiora I visited an event.
I travelled 3418 km and take home a lot of positive experiences.
Thanks to many beautiful caches I was also shown unique locations, historical sites and geological features.
I am overwhelmed by the fantastic and ever changing nature on the South Island of New Zealand - I will definitely come back.
Many thanks to all owners

Day 4 of our West Coast road trip and time to head back to Christchurch. A few diversions along the way to collect caches. TFTC
Left Zara at Kumara Junction while we went exploring. As much as I appreciate Londonderry Rock, those rock poles behind the trees meters tall just amaze me how they were built. Man , men must have been strong in those days. Quick snag and tag here. Cheers. But we did go and check out the famous rock with Bro.
Saturday 8 February. From Kumara Junction to Greymouth today. So lets go exploring.
Making a long weekend out of Waitangi Day exploring the West Coast with Zara Toby, Bullertrout and Bro. Its Waitangi Day today. Exploring Hokitika, Ross, Hokitika George, Lake Mahinapua, Lake Kaniere areas today. Great time and visited some amazing places..

Enjoying a great long weekend down the coastSubmitted via Garmin Live Geocaching
Found on a three day caching journey over to the West Coast. We really enjoyed the challenging hours spent in solving the many puzzle caches and now the signing off on the log books. We had a great spell of weather as we traveled along the many roads in the area. Many thanks to the various cache owners for placing and maintaining their caches. TFTC
Had a great day traveling from Oamaru to the West Coast, grabbed heaps of caches, and had a lot of fun. Many Thanks Bitsprayer
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on our Waitangi Day drive to Hokitika, where we are staying a couple of nights.
After finding a few caches in and around Kumara, we back tracked to this cache. A few years ago, we visited the rock to do the earth cache there, it's an interesting spot. No one around when we stopped by GZ today and cache was quickly found. TFTC.

#17797. We've been down to the rock before, but no need to leave the "main" road along the water race. TFTC.
Riding part of the West Coast Wilderness Trail today but first a few park and grabs.
We went to circumnavigate the rock first and then made this find on the way out.

Been to the rock on another occasion rather pleased we didn't have to go down the track this time. An easy find. TFTC
This one was a quick find, now should I drive or walk down to the car park? Tftc
The last time we were in this area we were on our bikes, heading towards Cowboy's Paradise, and what an awesome experience that was.
Today we were in the campervan and just parked up alongside GZ, GK jumped out and made an instant find. He brought the cache to the van so that I could get the log our, he finds these little ones a bit tricky with his big fingers. The log was signed and we returned it as he found it.
We turned around just up the road and were heading back out to the main road when I realised there were some more caches not too far up the road. So we turned the van around again and headed towards the power house.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.
