Took a wee detour to show some friends Tutukaka. Couldnt help it, just had grab a cache or two. TFTC!!!
Caching in the north with Team Welsh today. The carpark and even the approach road was jam-packed full today, so we had to double-park and the driver stay with the car. Took quite some time to pin down the cache here. Relief when it was finally spotted. Too hot to make the walk to the lighthouse (and no parking for our car anyway) so had to leave that for another trip. Never been out on this road before. Thanks for showing us.
Another incredibly busy parking spot so we double parked and then scored it lucky when someone left. GPS bouncing around all over the place so common sense had to win the day here and Mr TW eventually spotted it. TFTC
Quick find after a swim at the beach. Definitely not waist height! Im 1m 50 and was more eye height. As usual no pen so photo instead. Tftc
Auf unserer Reise in den Norden hier gehalten und den Cache gesucht und gefunden. Danke frs Verstecken.
No luck with fishing so decided to visit the lighthouse. Nice quick find here at the start of our walk.
Couldn't park right next to it as the car park was surprisingly busy, but still a quick grab and sign. Tftc
Today we used the wonderful weather to walk to the lighthouse. The trail is beautiful and offers great views over the Tutukaka coast. When we arrived at the carpark, there were too many cars and too many people around. But when we came back from the walk, it was only us on the carpark, so we had time to look for the container and found it after a short search. Thanks very much!
After we really enjoyed watching the tide coming in, we returned to the car park. No luck at the lions, but this was a quick find. Tftc!
There was a campervan parked close by so I needed some stealth. But the cache was in hand after a few minutes. TFTC
Luckily car park was empty of muggles so nice easy find, then found we had lost our pen! So the best we could do was mark log no 13 with a twig and put a small rip in the paper!
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
First day of my Christmas/New Year holiday so as something to do on a fine afternoon we decided to go for a short hike out to the Tutukaka lighthouse as this is something that has been on my "to do" list for awhile. The fact that a local cacher had recently placed several new caches on the track was also a prompting factor.
So the two halves of SmithsNZ along with Debz6, my son and his couple of friends set out from the car park at the end of the private road. Due to it being low tide we walked directly to the lighthouse with the aim to start our cache hunting there and on the return journey.
After taking many photos and enjoying the 360 degree view at the lighthouse we headed on our return journey with the aim of locating the caches along the track. Arriving back at the car park after our visit to the secluded beach we were happy to find that all muggles had left which meant we had an uninterrupted search. Liz quickly spotted the cache container hanging around so we were soon signed off and ready to return to town.

This was an amazing walk with stunning views. The way to the top was muddy and slippery, but definitely worth it. TFTC!
A little tricky to find, GPS moved around too much. Got there in the end. Was going to do the walk but saw all the bees and I forgot my epipen! Will have to come back
Called in to check this one today. All good now. Thx to McJandals for replacing the log a couple of weeks ago. Much appreciated thx.
Awesome place to come. Up from Tauranga and passing through Log full so have replaced. (Old log available if co wants it). Fantastic views. Cheers
Early start before breakfast, to catch the low tide. No one in the carpark, so a quick find and log was signed.
Thanks for the hide

Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are now parked at the DoC Campsite at Otamure Bay for the next few days … drove down to Whale Bay & then on to Tutukaka … needed to do the Ad Lab out this way & to complete a couple of walks loaded with caches … a successful day … this one was an easy find, completed the log & replaced it … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #3,012 for us.
Mrs B and Tinytree were off to the Poor Knights for a snorkeling trip and I offered to act as chauffeur for the day with a little bit of geocaching in-between to fill in the time. After an early morning drive from Auckland and dropping them off nearby, I drove up to this park for a bit of a walk. Quick find here, cache is in good condition. TFTC.
Thanks for bringing me here!
Glad for the 3 easy finds as lots of people coming and going.
Don't expect I will ever do the Lighthouse Walk....
But at least I can see it in the distance!

Came out here to pick up the two newish caches out here before lunch. Now back to matapouri for hopefully a warm swim. TFTC
Called into Tutukaka on our way up the coast. Decided on a quick walk to grab a couple of caches. Walked up from the beach.
Found this on the return from the lighthouse as there were a couple of muggles around when we arrived at the carpark. A nice easy find.

Pity freedom campers have toileted all around this area leaving a bad smell and plenty wet wipes.
I was going to head out to Ngunguru a few weekends ago but when I got home Friday night we were told we were going into another lockdown I had been hoping to collect the points I needed for my Mt Elbrus souvenir. I was relieved when no covid-19 cases were discovered in the North and we could go free again.
Today was our first day at level two. Woohoo! Geocaching again
I had 7 caches planned for the day some of which required low tides. Fortunately my 16 year old son's school didn't start until tomorrow so he could come along. There was definitely going to be some scrambling around rocks and I didn't fancy doing it alone. We had a great afternoon and I managed to get all the caches I had wanted.
The lighthouse cache along the walkway here was one of my top priority caches today. With the tide low at a good time, my sons school not open again yet, and high souvenir points this was a great time to head out this way. I got the park right near gz and spotted the cache instantly. I took the advantage of an empty carpark to sign it before heading out. Thanks for replacing it after our last visit. Another 325 points, TFTC

1319. 1:26 pm. Very quick find. To ensure we didn't get wet feet on our way back from the lighthouse, we left this one for the way back. Spotted the cache 30 metres from GZ. The trail was very busy today so we were glad to find, sign and return before muggles arrived at the carpark. Found with eKitten. TFT(trailhead)C.
Who knew it would be the last day of caching for a while. quick find although higher than I thought. T4tc
Queen's birthday weekend in Northland. Last 4 hides for today.
Took a while here. Reading previous logs helps! TFTC

Just stopped by for a quick park and grab with Vistra. Nearly head height for me. TfTC
looked for ages but couldn’t find it, must be missing as it has been logged as not found for about a month
We had a lovely walk to the lighthouse. Stunning views. Well worth a visit. Now back at the car park, so time to search for this one. We spent quite some time looking for an unknown hanging object until Ms M got stung by a bee. Time to stop looking!
