Come here to check my cache after all of Auckland rain. Tree is no longer here. Will replace soon.
Headed out to Mahurangi and Te Muri Regional Parks this morning with Mr NZ Travellers, Mr Stik-a-Crane and a new friend who had not cached before. After finishing there we dropped our friend home and we decided to explore this area a little further.
This wasn't so much 'under' but more like 'in'. Didn't phase us though we found it
Thanks for the cache.

Headed up this way today for a tour around Mahurangi Regional Park with a few members of team SEAC, and 1 muggle.....this was a second attempt at this park, with the first not quite getting off the ground for some reason that now eludes me,(that's right...we got sidetracked with some new publications in the Waitakere's), but today was a more successful attempt....parking in by the picture frame carpark, we headed for the inlet crossing to get onto the other part of the park as the tides allowed easier access.
Thanks to all the CO's for placing these caches and maintaining them.
Having delivered the muggle home for a well earned rest, we continued on in search of more caches to turn into smilies......

After the initial plan to visit Maturangi Park was scuttled due to a trail of newly released FTF's we had to plan another trip here.
So along with Keylev her non caching friend (I didn't realise there were people that DIDNT cahe!) and Mr Stik-A-Crane I drove everyone up to the park (we will not mention the slight detour we took due to note having the Google Maps voice prompt on when driving up.
After finishing at Maturangi we dropped Keylev's friend off and continued caching around this area
Loved the camo and great fit which earns a Fav point!

We found it just in the nick of time before it started pouring with rain. Very cleverly hidden, only the kids hands could retrieve it.
#11,453. I am driving around Whenuapai picking up caches I missed on my last trip up here. This one was spotted in the first place checked. Loved the theme of the cache hide and how it fitted in with the area its hidden in. The container proved to be very snuggly fitted and took some prising to get it out. I had no sooner done so than a bus pulled up and asked if I was wanting a lift. No thanks. Not with a geocache still in my hands. LOL. Anyway the bus left and I signed the log and replaced everything as found. Thanks nette1234 for hiding it here. My father was also in the NZ airforce but that was back in WW2.
In the area picking up caches, can be difficult to find a parking spot
I did do a couple of jumps a few decades ago when I lived in Truro UK and we went to RAF St Mawgan. It sure was a buzz! Today's activities were at a lower altitude but still lots of fun. We are visiting West Auckland from home in Chch for a few days. I did live in Auckland for a year in the 80s but it's my first time to explore out here. Tft
A nice quick find. Thanks for the cache.
Ms_KR are I off to the big smoke for a holiday, visiting rellies and cruising around town.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

There can’t be many airforce bases in the world where you can geocache on their boundaries. Fav point given for location and size. Now off to meet my son who’s in the Air Force. Tftc
Nice enjoyed this one. Great bike ride along the way too. Forgot my pen though will come again got the bike ride and log.
Thanks nette1244
Found it safe and dry.
Move the camo twice before finding it.

Up in Auckland for the mega with Philip.Perry and McJandals. Left home at 0300 over the hill to Tauranga to pick up the others in Auckland by 6am. Only plans today are to attend Mega sign log there then follow the map to get as many caches as possible. Signed logs TeamBOP.
Team BOP is back on the road this time heading to Auckland with our sights set on some Labs, puzzle solves and the NZ Mega 2020… I mean 2022
Our current incarnation includes Davidson Clan, McJandals and myself and we’ve signed the cache logs as ‘Team BOP’ to save time and log space. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the journey as most caches have been found quickly & without fuss thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placements.
I appreciate there’s a stigma attached to cut’n’paste logs like these so I’ll try to provide cache specific notes retrospectively when I get home. We do genuinely respect the work put into these caches, particularly some of the puzzles, but with a numbers mission like this - the hides start to blur together unfortunately. So Cheers COs, TFTC and most importantly - thanks for bringing us here

FINALLY we get to attend the MEGA. Attending as part of Team BoP. We have a load of solved puzzles and whilst we are concentrating on those, won’t pass up on trads either. This is day two of our great weekend.
Great to finally have this signed off.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

My mini side kick found this one. Log & inside container is soaked so cant sign. Placed back & covered over
Working on completing the wonders of the world challenge, nice quick find near home. Tftc
Staying on the other side of the fence for a couple of days, so I drove around here to get this one. Nice quick find here. TFTC
Found with woolwood9 driving around from cache to cache.

Found the cache super quickly but it was floating in water. Retrieved it and opened it to find the content also under water. Luckily the log was in a separate container that was also filled with water but still writable. We emptied the water, signed the log and put back the cache slightly higher in the hole where the water shouldn't be able to pool. TFTC
Just a couple of finds today and a few DNFs unfortunately so pleased to get this one under out belt. Quite an interesting place to get a look at the air force base and the club nearby which is looking a little forlorn. Noone about so found easily enough in the most obvious spot. Lots of slugs had taken up residence on the container so a bit of a slimy retrieval. Not to worry, the log is in good condition in the inner container so all good. Thanks for the cache, all good here.
# 1864 Collecting a few caches around my home location. This was a quick easy find and in great condition.. like the themed contents. Thanks nette1234 for this one. Not often that I travel to this side of the airfield.
First of the day out Whenuapai way. Cache was in first place we looked. Exchanged a parachute man for a rhino. TFTC
It feels as if I have being through withdrawal symptoms as it has been 10 days since I have found a cache. So today, once the temperatures dropped quite a bit I decided to venture out.
This was the first one I went for and found it where I thought it might be.
Cheers for the cache.

Was in the area grabbing a cache to qualify for the Goodbye 2019 souvenir and thought it would be rude not to come and grab this one as well. Nice hide. TFTC
This took me back a while, to bringing the children here to watch the fun. All quiet today, so no trouble searching. A fav. Tftc
Heading around the loop and caching as I go. Nice and easy pull in and find here. T F T C nette1234
I'm up in Auckland for the week, with a couple of options for transport and with a healthy choice of 4 evenings plus one late-afternoon at my disposal for caching. Would be remiss of me not to take advantage of what some (km) would call a 'target rich environment'. And so my week was spent well, a count of 75 caches was found, a few DNFs and a plethora of G-2's special cache treats with awesome camo and attachments. Some nice evening weather made things easier, and I averaged a 10km walked each day = nice. Thanks to all COs for their caches, individual logs as/when remembered.

We have been very busy today preparing for the weekend selling christmas trees. Needed to buy a few extra buckets, so took a slightly longer route to Westgate via the hangout of the Parachute Men. Soon spotted the hide at GZ. Thanks.
Came past here after work and parked nice and close. Quickly spotted a likely looking place, good hiding spot, cheers
Out and about for a spot of cache detection out west today. Good use of a day off work I say. The wind has picked up but it hasn't started rising just yet. Anyway, I took advantage of the ample parking near GZ and parked up. I made the hop, skip and jump to GZ. Immediately I spotted a likely hidey spot and went in for a closer examination. I soon came up with the goods. Nice to execute a super quick find. Cheers for the cache placement!
Interesting watching parachutists coming down. Visiting from Australia and doing a few caches as we visit relatives. Thanks to all the owners of the caches we were able to find.

Labour Weekend - Monday. With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... This long weekend has come at the right time for us. We are using the extra day to get a jump on the TMGT. After a whirlwind drive through Auckland and Northland, the TMGT caches in these regions are now done and dusted. Now we can focus on Gap’s job and a cache-drive through Hobsonville and Whenuapai...
Another view of the airbase and from a different angle. It was quiet through here this afternoon, though we suspect this might not always be the case. A big grey bird was sitting on the tarmac - Bet that could make some noise. No problem finding the parachute man... Thanks nette1234 and TFTC.

Found 4.10pm
Labour weekend in the past has been a Mega weekend, but not to be this year.
Rough plans made last minute as to what we would do, so target was TMGT caches in Auckland, lots of solved puzzles and any thing else we passed.
Plans always change as we got half way through the weekend and decided also to collect the Te Tai Tokerau TMGT caches also.
First stop for the weekend was a visit to Waikato Hospital to visit a Huntly cacher who has had a knee operation. (guess this is going to slow him down for a while)
The weekend seemed to fly by and before we knew it we were back home.
Thanks to all the cache owners for the cache placements. SLTFTC

Noticed that this cache had been replaced so popped over to turn our previous blue face yellow. All good. TFTC
Heading out to Hobsonville for an afternoon run around the coastal walkway. Swung by Whenuapai on the way to collect our daily cache. Started raining heavily as we left home but thankfully the rain had past by the time we got to gz. Soon found the likely spot. Evidence of possible camouflage (bark and a couple of large stones) at the base of the tree but no cache. Onto plan B.
Parachuted in for s quick find with rustynz and little blackbird. With precision soon located and was signing the cache. Thanks nette1234 for the hide
With rebel98 and little blackbird finding some of nette1234 hides, who we met earlier today at a recently published cache
Loved where you hid this one, no parachute men nearby, all quiet at headquarters.
Thanks for the hide, and bringing us here

Nice to have a few new caches in the area so made the drive out this way worthwhile. No problems in locating the cache. Thanks
Great condition so much fun we had been searching for other caches all day but we finally had a successful find.
After a good start to the day with the event in Henderson, a bit of caching in Te Atatu to get a few more smileys. We are meandering our way home picking up other caches along the way. Nice hide here and nice to be at the back of the Airbase. SL. TFTC.
This was our last cache find for the day before heading home. It was great that we could park so close to this one, and after a quick circuit at GZ the cache was spotted in the obvious spot. Love the parachute men inside the cache!
I found co-ords to be pretty good here. A nice quick find in the obvious place. Welcome to your new crazy addiction!
Came along here with my parents, after picking Dad up from hospital. Mum and Dad don't cache but they don't mind coming out a little bit for caching. Co-ords a little bit out here, but we soon found the hide anyway, Mum was quite impressed with the cache and she thought she had been here before for a picnic! Not sure about that one Mum.... thanks for the cache nette.
Another cool place for a cache thanks nette1234.
Obvious place to look in ; and co ords settled down when patient....
Loved your addition of the little parachute men in the cache!
Good that you have used double containers plus a pencil in your 2 caches!
Parachuting is one thing I would never aspire to!

With the forecast for sun and warm weather, I was keen to get out and stretch my legs while enjoying the sunshine. Decided to bring my niece and nephew along for the hike of Shakespear Reserve. This cache was published just as we parked up at Shakespear, yet if I'd been home I would have made it to GZ in approx 5 mins. I guess it was only fair to share the FTFs, as I got mine the previous night. Was nice to see someone else get FTF thought.
Decided that we had just enough time to detour for this cache on the way home before our haircut appointment. Mr 8 loved watching a small Cessna plane come into land just as we parked. My nephew made the quick find.

I had just dropped JrGun9 at creche and was on my way to do a few tasks, including grabbing a cache, and this popped up. Noticing it was only a few kms away and I was already in the car I figured I stood a good chance!
I did have to duck home for a pen but then it was a fairly quick drive to the cache. At GZ I spotted a likely hide but my GPS had it elsewhere - closer to this GPS spot my GPS jumped back to where I thought it would be. At that spot I made a quick find and was super stoked to find an empty log book!

Was already thinking of visiting the other new cache in the area, and was loading the gpx file onto the GPS when this one popped up. Fully expected kiwicouple to have made the find by the time I got there, so wasn't surprised to be second, just by who was first.
