Logs
Was visiting family Kati so had a look on the way home. Took a while. After I got the gloves out I could look in more places and eventually was rewarded. All in good order. Tftc.
This was such a slippery spot in jandals after today's rain, we soon gave up! Will have to try another day.
This one is a bit of a relic from time past, I doubt well dig much with it these days. TFTC
We parked very close to GZ and thought we had the area to ourselves as the road was very quiet but all of a sudden a number of cars started coming down the driveway at regular intervals so stealth mode was initiated.Fortunately none of the drivers seemed particularly interested in us, not sure if this was due our stellar stealth skills or just luck but we were pleased either way.It took a couple of revolutions of the digger before we located the cache but were lucky to spot it reasonably quickly. We signed the log and returned the cache it to its hiding place just before another car appeared from the driveway. Perfect timing. Thanks willbuild for bringing us to this interesting spot.
On a kiwi summer holiday and nice little place to stop for a second. Did it take too long to find. TFTC
We might have to add gloves to our cache kit after this one! After dark, and travelling home, we pulled over when our infant needed to be fed. We had tried this one a few days earlier, with no luck, but with some help from another cacher, Mr Taylana was able to find the cache after enough rummaging in the correct holes. Glad to get this one off our DNF list! TFTC.
We were time restricted and luck was not on our side today so unfortunately have to DNF this time. We'll be back lol
Finally got a well earned smilie. Gosh second visit in 3 days and took such and age to find with hands in many places I don’t like doing. Lovely listening to the sounds of running water nearby.
A quick stop , a getting frustrated search, had a quick look through past logs and yep I thought i’d looked there before. Success in the end was sweet.
After the dreadful weather over the weekend, Monday's weather was rather nice, so we loaded our bikes onto the back of the car, and came out to Katikati for a day of adventure. This was our first cache of the day - a great area for a cache with safe off-road parking. The search didn't take too long ... now on to the next one ...
Good place for a cache as it's not too busy for a leisurely look. And we thought a good hard look would be required here, so we took an area each for a systematic search. Eureka! The first place I looked! Usually that only happens to other people. Cache is all good. TFTC
After a second hint via txt and with one more guy we was able to find it. YEESSSSS!!!
Wasn't very hopeful on finding this but its definitely there. Good geosense found it. Tftc
Wasn’t expecting to find this one with the last DNF, kimbathelion took one for the team and found it
#988 - Girls trip to get as many caches in Katikati area. Tried this one before and failed, but after reading a few logs we persevered and we got it!! Great hide.
Really need to add gloves to the cache pack, hate sticking my hand in hidden places. Were on the verge of frustration when smaller hands got in the right crevice we had checked earlier. Thought it would be an obvious texture difference, but not so much! Only knew it was it cause I heard it move.
Heading north for the school holidays. Stopped in Katikati for a couple of caches. I love these sort of caches. Takes a while of feeling around before the satisfaction of having it in your hand. Thanks
It didn’t take long to find with two of us digging round every crevice, nook and cranny. Brooksey found it, yet I had the dirtier hands .
Visiting katikati with friends we stopped to search for this cache. I have to say I don’t do cavities in case of creepy crawlers so I supervised my husband and friends searching whilst I gave some suggestions. Great hide
Just as well some of us don’t mind putting our hands into unseen places or this cache wouldn’t have been retrieved!! Having said that, it want me that found it - it was xmasbabe’s Hubble. But I wrote our names on the log so it was a joint effort. TFTC
Headed over this way to clear a few non-smilies off the map with Cats&Dragons. The plan was to start in Waihi and head South along the coast and see how far we can get before our other halves call and tell us to head home. To make the most of this a 4am start was on the cards to cram as much caching in as possible.
Not much digging required to get this one. Thanks for the hide.

Headed over here with HKCB for a clean up of the area an the chance to work our way south along the coast collecting what we can.
Departed home at 4am on a clear morning and hoping the day stays that way.
Heading south now and a great opportunity for the day to improve as we now have daylight to help us. Nice little collection of caches along here, as there are deffinatly more than I remember in this area. think this is about the most luck that I have ever had at finding caches in and around Katikati
Well now that we are all in lockdown its a chance to catch up on the logging that I have been dutifully ignoring for the past several months. Thanks to all the cache owners that placed these out there
Thanks for the cache, thanks for the placement

With Gap (of Fap and Gap) and nieces... We have revised and updated our Caching Hit List for 2020 - This is a collection of hides we really want to tackle while we have summer holidays and Daylight Saving... Our plan is to incorporate at least some of these caches into our adventures. Our big Hit List target for today was to tackle the NTA Trail at Aongatete. However, Gap had some commitments around town which meant a small tweak to the plan - Instead of a morning walk, let's do it this afternoon...
We did expect a tiny bit of grief on this one, but touched the cache in the second place we looked. Thanks willbuild and TFTC.

Thought I had a good search but ran out of time with no joy. Will watch & return another day.
Found 12.05pm
Bit of a search and found with good hint, just had to reach into every cavity before making find.
Vehicles kept coming and going but didn't notice me. SLTFTC

On a trip with Hairy (KayGeeDee) to get some caches. Nice to get off the main road tftc
Got to GZ and thought "this could take forever". Thankfully it was soon found. TFTC
Wow this looked daunting!
Was here feeling around for about 20 minutes with no luck....
Then very luckily for me Happy Bogan and Dot rocked up.
She put her hand on it straightaway...somewhere I had felt but not thoroughly enough obviously!
Thanks!

Find number 6270. My second visit for this one. It was 8 am on a weekday last time and there was traffic going to the nearby work place so I abandoned the search. Back today and immediately got my hands on the cache. Pleased I dug it out. Thank you for the placement.
So after doing the one in the reserve we came here. Check to see where this was and guessed it was right where a car was parked. Dam! So carried on down the road. When we came back we notice a lady now was searching around. Lol! So we joined in the hunt and not long after cache was in hand. Nice to have finally meet Supernanny. Tftc
We had a free day so came over to Katikati to walk some of the local tracks and of cause check out any new caches on the way, Thanks for this cache. And I didn't need gloves.
Took a little while to find the right spot but we got there eventually. TFTC
Was about to give give up! Gloves highly recommend! We didn’t have any so used a grocery bag over our hands. Fun spot! We got dirty even without any digging. TFTC
Found during work trip across Australia and New Zealand. Last few days with nice weather are pleasant for geocaching. Thank you for this traditional cache. Greetings from Czech Republic
I was wanting a quick find to start the day's road trip but this took a little longer than expected. I was starting to have flashbacks to the digger down the road when my glove closed on the cache. TFTC.
On the last leg of a good day out caching with Mc Jandals & NZFlossy. We parked next to GZ and the hunt began. We knew what needed to be done as we're no strangers to small magnetic containers on large metal structures. Still it wasn't until things got serious and I put the gloves on that we found this one. A little tricky but all sorted now, cheers willbuild - nice to see your name pop up again. TFTC

Thanks Willbuild for bringing me back up this way, had a spur of the moment trip with a couple of the Team. A quick ponder at GZ had us grabbing the cache, Cheers.
Out this way with couple of other cachers - quick stop hear after Phillip put in the gloves TFTC
Passing through here today and noticed or hoped that {FTF} was still up for grabs...arrived at GZ and glad I didn’t bring my spade ..this would put me to shame ...great piece of machinery and worthy of a cache...now just to find where as there are lots of options after a short search The crafty placement was located ... Thanks willbuild for the nice tidy placement and yes a nice clean log sheet {FTF} joint
When I saw this published I wondered what could be here to justify a cache. Well now I know! And another beautiful picnic spot. Shame we didn't bring our lunch. Great hide and spot to bring us to. Thanks Willbuild.
