It's a beautiful spring day and the deadly treadlies need some dusting off. TNLN SL TFTCSubmitted via Garmin Live Geocaching
GeoEthan found this geo on the 5 th of April very cool and small cache but there was heaps of small animal skulls which gave me the creeps
Im fairly new to Geocaching. This is the first cache I tried to find along the FT, couldnt find it so I kept tracking along. Found it on my return from The Tunnel when I got the gist of gaching. This was fun tyftc
We packed the ebikes and headed to the big smoke for a couple of days. While Mr Morris conducted some business, Lady Morris joined the CO and hit the trails. Despite the smells, the blunt pencils and all the works going on - it was a great morning's ride. Thanks for adding the trail Robmc
Spent the morning with Chewinprickes on our deadly treadlies completing a maintenance run on the FT and KCT trails. All caches are now in good condition and ready to be found.Replaced log sheet.Robmc.
Had a nice day traversing parts of my old stamping ground, and reliving memories fast dissapearing into the past. Thanks Robmc
First time riding my bike along the Federation Trail. I parked at Maccas on the corner of Fitzgerald Rd and Leakes Road, and looked forward to coming back and being rewarded with a nice cold iced latte at the end. Cache in good nick. TFTC!
The weather looked like it was going to be nice to us today so it was decided to head to the other side of town. We encountered a couple of snakes but they weren't interested in us and slithered off home. Most finds were made although we did have to leave a couple and search for them on the way back and a couple of others seem to be missing. We got a little bamboozled with the tracks but it was a lovely day to be out and about. Thanks for placing all these caches for us to find.
It was a lovely day for a scooter ride! I encountered tiger snakes on the path twice in different locations, and I had to swerve my scooter to avoid them quickly. Thankfully, I narrowly missed them! I ended up with a pretty bad sunburn by the end of the day. Robmc, thank you so much for placing it for everyone to enjoy and highlighting this area.
Whilst having a quiet Sunday at home with the sun beaming outside and my new mountain bike sitting in my car, I decided to make my way out here to the Federation Trail for a quick spot of Christmas Eve geocaching. I parked my vehicle on a nearby side street, hopped on my bike and began making my way to this cache to begin the trail. After a short ride, I arrived at GZ. As someone who drives along the nearby road most days on my commute to and from work, it was interesting to get a different perspective on the surrounding industrial area from this trail. Finding the cache itself was relatively quick and easy, thanks especially to the good coordinates. Upon opening the cache, I noticed the logbook was completely full on both sides which meant I had no room to sign my name. Fortunately, I had a bit of spare paper on me at the time which I have added as a bit of an extension to the existing logsheet. After signing my name, I placed the cache back and continued on my way along the trail. TFTC
Thought I was going to log a dnf but took a bit of a rest and it was staring at me
Going for a nice ride around federation trail today trying to complete the smileys around home. TFTC
TFTC out and about with Algae on the geoscooters, grabbing some smilies. We did about 20 km.
I found this cache today on my 35,000 step walk from Sunshine to Laverton via the Kororoit Creek Trail and the Federation Trail. My final cache of the day. I still had to walk most of the way towards Laverton but luckily came across a bus stop on the way and hopped on there instead. Glad to finally have a good deal of these two trails now complete. A great day though all up except for the snakey bits. Thanks from D B-A
Out and about with My good caching mate Omegaman1971, there are always plenty of laughs while we are turning caches into smiles.
This is one of the caches found today.
Thanks Robmc for the cache.

Super cheeky spot
Had to go do claw and come back with a new mindset
Amazing spot and could definitely throw off a lot of finders

Have had my eyes on the Federation Trail series of caches for a while so was grateful for the caching opportunity that presented itself today. With SpursNorth in company, we started on Fitzgerald Road and finished the day at Altona Gate shopping centre for a well deserved snack before heading home.
A blustery but mostly pleasant Friday afternoon minus the intermittent unbearable stench along the trail. With thanks to Robmc for placing and maintaining a variety of caches.

Out for the day geocaching with my brother Ketchthor. Some good spots threw out the day and no DNFs which was amazing. TFTC
Bit concerned parking ConnieandRicks car here in case it’s taken, some of the cars being scrapped here looked really good. Sad to see them being crushed. Thanks Robmc for placing this cache and contributing to this great game. Happy trails, Deanside
Out for a few hours with Deanside, started on this trail and then went further afield. Another day of sunshine, good finds and lots of laughs.
I like souvenirs, so with the current Wheel-of-Challenges souvenir campaign, it means that I have to pursue a 28-day caching streak during this winter month. There's no shortage of local caches - it's just my (streaking) mojo I have to work on.
I'm also keeping this endeavour as eco-friendly as possible, so the additional walking and cycling will probably provide me with a few random Garmin Connect souvenirs too. (Well, I am a sucker for colourful pixels... errr... I mean digital 'art' ) .
Today's outing was a drive to the FT followed by a 12km cycle to the western-most section of the FT. A quick find at this GZ, in a completely muggle-free area. Couldn't make out any cars in the pile of rubble nearby, but there were certainly some 'derailed' trains heaped on there!
Thanks, Robmc.

Day 3 of 28 - Drove to the KCT and cycled 6km.
Day 4 of 28 - Cycled 25km - along roads/KCT/detours/FT/KCT/roads again. Found 2 caches in the northern part of the KCT.
Day 5 of 28 - Drove to Geelong, completed an adlab plus bonus.
Day 6 of 28 - Found a cache near the morning's Brimbank parkrun.
Day 7 of 28 - Drove to the KCT and cycled 9km. A DNF followed by a find.
Day 8 of 28 - Cycled 5km to and along the Seaholme foreshore. Feet wet for a cache.
Day 9 of 28 - Drove to the FT and cycled 12km to the westernmost section of the FT geotrail for 2 caches.

What an amazing cache container!! It brought back many memories of times gone past!! Had a chuckle as we signed and replaced the log.
Now time for a snack before making our way back to the car!

Last cache on the stretch of path before turning around and heading back to the car. Thankfully the rain has now mostly stopped. Thanks for the cache Robmc.
Started from the other end this morning to finish off this section. Sadly sometimes you do only need a bit of a car but they work a lot better when all their bits are there TFTC
This was the last of the FT series for me to find. So after 11.25 km.s of walking and 25 caches, I had 4 DNF's (2 allowed as finds) and 21 finds. Now on to a few more before heading home.
Many thanks to Robmc for the cache and the series. It would certainly be quicker by bike!

Out with Dot558 after watching the snail trail theatre and decided on a great day to collect some smiles

Thanks for the cache
With an afternoon free and a new souvenir within reach we opted for an afternoon on the bike trail, parking our car in a street nearby. Nice to see this old-school container again! Admired the biggest IGA we've ever seen as we signed the log. TFTC
So last night I called up BackPAQer and like you do.. I said lets go find some caches...
so after some debate on which trail we would tackle we decided to FT and KCT track.
So early morning start with two scooter and BackPAQer and myself hit the trails.
Hot day for it considering it is spring.. 33C out there today..
Day started badly with two Did Not Finds in the first three...
But we ended up with 27 Finds and 7 Did Not Finds and picked up a trackable
It was a fun day out and even managed a great lunch and a pint in Yarraville to break up the day.
Thanks to RobMC for the trail. Sorry for the generic logs
Thanks for the cache and the hide
log book has been signed and returned

This part of this trail has been sitting there on the map looking at my every time I look at it, so today I decided to finally head across the painful bridge to see if I could find them.
When I first arrived, I spotted something and thought that may have been the cache but no it wasn't, so I looked a bit more and found the cache.
**Thanks to Robmc for placing this cache.**

Knowing I had a trip out here for work I put the scooter in the car for this trail after work. Plenty of smells out here with the various factories around.
Quick find while looking at what spares I could use.
Thanks to Robmc for the fun and the adventure.

It has been a while with all the cold rainy winter weekends that we have gone a scooter ride but my smallest geokid and I headed out today to this trail. The weather was almost perfect and there was a small section I needed to revisit to avenge a couple DNF's I had a while ago as well. There were quite a few "interesting" smells emanating from some of the industrial areas.
A lot of car parts here and initially checked the wrong tree, then my GPS moved me to the correct one.
Thanks Robmc for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Due to the aforementioned phone call, "the plan" has changed somewhat. I'm now going to meet SueHut over in Altona Meadows, to cache around the Truganina Park. Consequently, "a bit of a car" would be real handy right now.
Thanks heaps, Robmc.

First one found on this trail, great start to the day. Beware if you’re an animal lover though for the unwanted find
Unfortunate about the poor animal that passed away near this cache. Found and logged!
Today's excursion is the west side. Industrial, smelly, metal, steel, salt, steam, smoke, concrete, gravel and a few small strip's of Green. Some say west is best. Best at hard work, no doubt about that.
A five km walk to finish the day, and this series.
Started under the bridge and headed to The Shiny Mountain first of all.
Walking to the west for the rest.
A most enjoyable walk. [^]
Ah yes. I recognise this bit.
It's the bit previously known as the Visual Storage Module Encapsulator from a 1976 Pentax K1000.
Thanks for the cache, the series and this iconic container Rob *(definitely a favourite. We don't see enough of these in the wild!)* .
Returned north along Fitzgerald Rd and then East to the the bridge to complete the loop.

Today's 'brief' stint was an 18km (we thought it would be about 10) walk which took us nearly 5 hrs, along a bike track, my bike is currently in pieces.
By this point, day1976 was finding all the caches while I sat down whenever we stopped.
It's taken 2.28 hrs to get here, the turn around point, and will take longer to get back, 9.9km so far.

Found with ilukaperi on a short day stint in Melbourne's western suburbs.
Our turn around point. Iluka is starting to fail a bit.

Maintenance run today along the Federation Trail.
Checked this one, it was missing, and replaced container.
Now ready to be found.

Wish I had checked the logs in advance and saved myself the walk to this one.
Might be worth a check given the number of DNFs in a row since early December.

Couldn't find but there was a dead rabbit where it said it would be. Maybe covered by it
Out with au.fait & xambo4u, we were doing the FT trail and part of the KCT trail. We had a great day with lots of talk and laughter. This was a good start to the day.
Thanks Robmc.
Thanks Robmc.
Out and about with echidna44 and au_fait for the day doing the bike trail here. We left one car at one end and one at the other. Enjoyed good company, weather excellent and mostly success. Nice easy find here, we are off to a good start. Cache in excellent condition. Thanks for the journey Robmc
