After attending the Leap Year Mega in Adelaide I am spending a few days in Millicent getting caches wherever I can. Having completed the wine bottle Geoart yesterday today's aim was to get the glass completed. Thank you for organizing, placing and maintaining this series. It has been an enjoyable drive around relatively quiet country roads.
After over seven weeks on the road, I'm back home and finally catching up on all my logging.Caching in South Australia was fantastic, so many good hides to find, and we found ourselves zigzagging all over the place doing lots of geoart but of course ran out of time to get everything done on our to-do list. The majority of caches we found were in great condition and well maintained, which is a credit to all the CO's who placed them, so thank you.Our logs were mostly signed as 6 for QLD to save room on the log sheets, and no doubt, we'll be back again in the future.

Find # 11179Well here it is, time for another MEGA, and an extra special one to. Its a leap year! So before the main event I decided Id head down to Millicent and surrounds to collect some geoart, and some of the all important (to me ) SFE challenges.Mentioned my plans to a few and lo and behold Weirdobiker was heading this way around to same time also so we decided to coordinate and teamed up for some caching adventures. A real mixed haul Id say, but any days caching is always good fun. Thanks GeocachingSA for Commandaria

Found with Traceywithaneeee. Tracey jumped out of the car while I drove. I apologise for the generic log as I hate to do this but we are trying for 100 caches today to meet a HQ challenge and this is one of them. Thanks so much for placing the cache for us to find.
Day 8 of our loop through Vic and SA then home.
Today fitzy_1965 and I moved from Mt Gambier to Millicent with albida, Sol de lune & smittengranny. We signed as MAFSS to save room. Some of us may have rebelled and signed FAMSS instead.
Our aim was to collect the wine bottle series at Kalangadoo until it was time to check in at Millicent. Then we headed out again to collect as many of the GV2020 series as we could.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

30,631. Found with minniek, albida33, Sol de lune, smittengranny (signing either as FAMSS or MAFSS to save room and just for fun). After the hordes around Rutherglen it was good to drop down to a group of 5.
Rutherglen Mega and South Australia Trip Day 8. Today we left Mt Gambier and eventually headed to Millicent to start finding the caches we missed out on when we were locked out of the Millicent Mega. We went north and started at Kalangaloo to start the Wine Bottle series with a few bonus caches thrown in. A great series and a lot of fun driving around the area. This was a quick find at GZ. Signed, replaced, then we headed to the next one on the list.
Thanks GeoVenture2020 !!

Southern Autumn adventure Day 9. Post Mega South East SA trip Day 3. Back on the road, the day consisted of getting from Mount Gambier to Millicent via Kalangadoo and many many caches. I left the van in Kalangadoo and climbed in with Smitten Granny. The rest of the team was Sol de Lune, MinnieK and Fitzy_1965. We proceeded to visit the wine bottle and cup series and the pole series. We had lots of fun in amongst dirt roads and rain showers. We even managed a few challenging tree caches. The day ended in Millicent after setting up with a section of the GV2020 Geo-Art that only came to an end as the light faded.
Thanks for the cache GeocachingSA

After the Rutherglen mega, fitzy_1965, albida33, minniek, Smittengranny and myself headed to the Mount Gambier / Millicent region to tackle some of the caches from the Millicent mega that we couldn't' get to.
After a day in Mount Gambier, we headed up for the series around Kalangadoo and stated our assault from there. We headed around til mid afternoon finding cache before it was time to head into Millicent to check into our accommodation.
All caches attempted were found and a day was had by all.
Many thanks to all the CO's....it was good to hear the Millicent mega went well, but even better that we have finally made it across to find the caches.....

The five amigos, minniek, Albida33, Fitzy_1965, Sol de Lune and Smittengranny were out on a real mission today after leaving Mt Gambier. The aim? As many caches as possible before dark . We concentrated on PTs with a few extras thrown in for good luck. The coordinates for many of the puzzles and wherigos had been calculated a couple of years ago when we thought that we would be attending the Mega over here.
All logs were signed either as MAFSS or FAMSS. Thanks to all who were involved in placing and maintaining these trails.

SL at 2:30pm. Another solo day out today to get some fresh air. They still be kickin' up dust, rocks and dirt all over these roads around here due to the recent grading works. The locals don't slow down either! Although, I did have one nice concerned farmer stop to see if I was ok. I don't know what ended up being dirtier, my car, me or my shoes, again!

Suscoe had a day out in the Kalangadoo area today.
It was a lovely day with some cloud cover early on and sunshine through high cloud later on. The breeze kept the temperature undercontrol.
We enjoyed finding these caches and were pleased to be able to complete the Wine Bottle and Glass series in one day.
Thanks to Geoventure2020 for these caches.

Out and about across several days with a fun caching crew that consisted of ChooknChunk, Team Crackers, micaparamedic, RoamingHowie, Papi4506, and GeoTurtle37.
The laughter, frivolity, cheeky comments, deep and meaningful conversations, drinking, eating, caching, dust, long grass, the spectacular Andrew (RoamingHowie also known as the human ladder) taking one or two or three for the team (geocaching certainly got him wet) , then there was Rob (Papi), his climbing skills and agility was second to none - amazing!! [^], and what Jo could do with a pole is impressive! [:X]
Life has been a little challenging lately (as it has been for many), but this geocaching trip instantly injected some nature, connection with others and different scenery into the mix (with the silliness and laughter) - just what the soul needed.
Thank you to those who placed the caches and then a special thanks to those who maintain the caches that we found. [:X]

Geoturtle37 and I teamed up with RoamingHowie, Team Crackers, ChooknChunk, The_Tritonz, Micaparamedic and GoodLook.
We found all caches in good order and most of them didn't take too long to locate. It didn't hurt to have so many people searching for them.
Thank you for the time and effort that has gone into creating and now maintaining this series for us to enjoy.

I was out and about for some post Mega wind down time. After heading to Dimboola for the event weekend I jumped on the end of a convoy to Millicent. Having setup over night it was off to explore today and collect some of the caches from the Mega we couldn’t make it to.
We toured the countryside and very overgrown grass to collect some of the powertrails. To save on log space these were logged as Team Vics (and a couple as VVR). The group included The_Tritonz, Team Crackers, Papi4506, GeoTurtle37, micaparamedic, chooknchunk and myself.
All caches were found in good condition.
Thanks GeocachingSA for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to mindful

We had solved the wine bottle puzzles not long after they came out as we were planning to be at the Mega but that was not possible because of Covid.
So a plan was made to visit with ChooknChunk, Geoturtle37,Papi4056, Goodlook, micaparamedic,The_Tritonz and Roaming Howie we headed off to try our luck at the Millicent caches.
We are now picking up the set of trads as we made our way around the glass looking forward to getting back to camp for a drink. All these were found relatively quickly, a couple slowed us down but with this many eyes looking they couldn't stay hidden for too long. All the rain and the long grass made it a bit more interesting and in places we lost sight of each other even though we were only a couple of metres apart. That just adds to the adventure. Once we finished the glass it was early evening so we decided to come back tomorrow to try our luck at the bottle.
Thanks GeoVenture2020 once again for this fun geo art.

Having already drank the bottle (signed the logs), on our last visit to Millicent, today, in the company of our desert crew we were able to add the wine glass to our inventory of found caches. Most caches were easy finds, a couple had us searching longer but many eyes makes light work.
Thanks GeocachingSA for the well themed geoart......it does make one thirsty for a cold drink back at the caravan park

After not being able to attend the GV2020 Mega, Chook finally made it here in Millicent with Team Vic (or The Vics, or V V R, depending on who had the pen) - consisting of The Tritonz, Papi4506, Geoturtle37, Team Crackers, micaparamedic, Roaming Howie and our honorary Vic GoodLook.
We started this afternoon with some fishing, and once those were all caught, we turned our attention to the Wine Glass and the caches in Kalangadoo. More fun and laughter was had as we battled the long spring grass to find the treasures we were seeking. Once the wine glass was conquered (minus the wherigos which we came back for the next day), it was back to camp for some real wine and other spirits. TFTC and series GeoVenture2020.

What better thing to do on a cool winter's day than tackle some geoart! Unfortunately we did not check all of the terrains and we have had to leave one until next time when we bring a ladder. My tree climbing skills were put to good use today. And aren't the locals friendly. Cached with Frankiezmum22.

Our last day, it was time to make the long trek home to Melbourne... but we STILL had to finish this fun little series before we left! We met up for a coffee, then headed straight out here to find these caches in the morning dew and fog - again, dodging farmers and saying 'hello' to plenty of livestock along the way. Thanks for the cache, and the cool series GeoVenture2020!

Over in SA again with a cut down group of geocaches compared to last time. We felt it was time this group of Victorians found some Millicent caches, as we were banned from the mega! We are signing the logs as Vic1. Thanks for the sometimes challenging caches GeocachingSA!

Found by Mary and David, in company with McLookers, beckNmonts, Alansee, muzza, and Rabbitto (signing as VIC1), at at 14:31. Day 4 of our trip, planned to tackle the many caches around Millicent, as we'd been locked down last year and unable to attend GV2020. Our thanks to GeocachingSA.
In the Millicent area for a few days, we are signing the logs as Vic1. Thanks for placing the cache GeocachingSA.
Found with a team consisting of BecknMonts, McLookers, Maccamob, Rabbitto, and Muzza. This was our fourth and final day in the area and it was still cold. Today was another fun day caching although it would have been far better to have been able to come to the Mega. Many thanks to the CO's for the placements.
Staying in Penola and decided this was the day to empty the bottle and drink the wine, most caches were found quickly but a few required an intense search, many are in dire need of maintenance due to being water-logged, broken or missing caches

The great Geoventure 2020 tour....take 2...which is of course now in 2021 Once again it myself and AnyMules doing things that not many sane people would attempt. [:o)]
Day 6: Another very busy day for us as we started caching in the rain doing the wine bottle series. It dried out a little as we finished and we made our way to Penola for lunch. We attended the event and continued caching around there including some labs until it was time to go to the CITO and do some tree planting. Trees planted it was time to go for a walk do get the caches in the park but once again the rains came. Not deterred we continued caching in the rain until we had finished the wine glass, the GPS had switched to night mode and we were soaked.
* If anything was particularly interesting then there will be a comment
Here..
otherwise we found all the caches we looked for and they were in good condition.
Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers from over fifty to single digits. That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]
***Thanks GeoVenture2020 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

Found at 14:16 during a fantastic extended weekend away with Shonkylogic and Southern Cross Caching. We had grand plans to complete swathes of powertrails and solved puzzles, but the weather slowed us down a bit. Even so, it was a lot of fun, and we passed my goal - to get my 9000th find
Friday, day 1, had us driving and caching from morning in Adelaide until the 6pm event in Millicent.
Day 2 focussed on the fishing series, wine bottle, and numerous other caches in that vicinity.
Day 3 was our slowest, due to the worse weather, but still a lot of fun.
Day four, after doing SFE series and nearby caches, plus those we passed, I arrived home at about 8pm, after finding my 9000th cache along the way.
Great to catch up with many of the usual faces, some others we hadn't seen for a long time, and a few new faces too.
Thanks for the hides

Apologies for the generic log.
Uni and Medusa, Southern Cross Caching, and I ... shonkylogic spent the October Long Weekend in 2021 attending the Easter 2020 Mega Event at Millicent.
Along the way we stopped to find as many caches as we could - because we somehow convinced our better halves not to accompany us. Or perhaps it was because they really don't like caching as much as us.
We came well equipeed in the Pahero, with not one, not two but THREE TOTTs to help us. Even that wasn't sufficient for all the hides, sometimes you just don't have the right tool for the job.
However we had perfect tools for the Fishing series, and then went on to Kalangadoo for the wine series and stopped at a few others, some involving ladders or tree climbing.
We enjoyed meeting up with old friends, in these days of Covid is really is very special to be able to hold an event like this.
Thanks GeoVenture2020 for placing and maintaining the cache

After completing the tree fishing trail, I tackled the wine trail. All caches found. A couple tricky ones, but the vast majority were found without problems.
A tremendous amount of work has gone in to the design, placement and maintenance of this trail. It is certainly very much appreciated.
Thanks for the cache GeoVenture2020.

Found on a gorgeous day with Shandyk. Signed log as GuSh. Just checking they are all there in readiness for GeoVenture2020. TFTC.
Found on our first day down at Geoventure2020 - here nice and early. Out and about with Guz's Travellers and our Geodogs. Thank you to GeoVenture 2020 for placing and maintaining these caches for our enjoyment. See you all on the weekend. Signed log as GuSh
Spent some time adding to the glass with ilook4geo. Found nearly all the caches we looked for so it was a pretty good day. It was also the inevitable windy day with some rain. Thanks for these cache placements go to GeoVenture2020.
Found while on a caching run with goingplaces2. Log was signed and replaced. Thanks for creating this series.
Had to laugh at GeoMum's expense as she drew the short straw to retrieve and was not happy to be eaten alive by "Ants, ants and more ants".

Thought we would tackle the wine glass sfter a beaut lunch at Park Hotel. Good coords and hints, and quiet roads made it fun. Thanks very much for your efforts. TFTC!
This was a great one to find with children. A nice quick find, with a lovely rural outlook. Thanks for the cache.
Yes, I stopped for this one. I shouldn't have but hey we will take a smile for the effort.
Thanks to GeoVenture2020 and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]

I had a hotel voucher I needed to use which was due to the lockdown last year postponing the Millicent Mega event. This weekend was our best option for travel and with the borders just opening up again a few days before I was worried I would need to postpone the accomodation again. Luckily the border opened and an awesome 3 day trip was made. This would also free up some time for when the Mega is on again in October by collecting a lot of what we wanted to this trip.
After a couple of morning tree climbs and then completing the GV2020 geo-art we headed up this way mainly to do the WhereIGo caches but Fleabag- got distracted and we started on this section of the trad wine glass. While we were here we then also went and found all the WhereIGo caches as well with a couple in fairly obscure locations.
Thanks GeoVenture2020 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Spiffy-, my geopartner and I headed over to SA - Milicent. We had hotel vochure to use from the first lockdown and border closure and Labour Day weekend was our best option. We had many puzzles solved and interesting caches to find in this amazing part of Australia.
A few Geoart options so we settled on this one. Some took a few moments and we had 1 tiger snake to deal with plus some farmers that were okay with us looking at their fences after some questioning.
Thanks to GeoVenture2020 for the placement and fun.

Today we arrived in Millicent to spend some time finding caches that have been placed for GV2020. There has been a great assortent of places to find the cache containers. Most of the co-ords were acceptable and all the caches we attempted today were found. SL TFTC
After our lockdown regional Victoria was set free and Tag-along, feathetop and I took this opportunity to get away to South Australia for a few days. With the Wine bottle puzzles solved in readiness for the March Mega we were keen to earn a few smiling faces. Enter Covid and our plans were wrecked!
The weather forecast promised perfect weather conditions for us so a plan to visit SA was hatched and border crossing passes successfully arranged.
It was the 2nd day out in the field with only one car now as mine had broken down we hoped all would go well today
A big thank you for setting up this great piece geo-art for us.

I arrived in Millicent this weekwith a number of goals. I was with tagalong and 6Hinemoa2. We had worked on the puzzles so long ago but after 2020 was written off we crossed the SA border, permits in hand to tackle these caches in a good weather window for summer.
Day 1 saw us here on the wine bottle series
Great theme and wonderful geoart
The hides were easy and all but 2 caches found. 2 replaced as we saw the remains of one smashed up.
Cool weather made ideal conditions for caching
Many thanks to the organisers for this series

After enduring the Vic lock down we were finally released from iso. It was decided to head to Millicent to find all these wonderful puzzle caches we had so meticulously deciphered leading up to the GV2020 Mega. (Only to have it postponed)
We arrived in Kalangadoo and rendezvoused with au.fait. Our first day of caching after such a long break was extremely warm and terribly windy but it was great to be out there finding caches again. We hit the ‘wine bottle’ running, completing it in a day. We decided we had a spare few minutes to attempt some of the wine glass too. Happy days indeed.
Most caches were easy to find, some logs were damp but soon dried in the heat. No DNF's in this lot
Thanks for the puzzles and the hides GV2020. We all really enjoyed our day out.

Teaming up with TheRobbos3266 and armed with my entry permit to South Australia we met up in Kalangadoo for our first day of caching in the Millicent area. Today we targeted the wine bottle puzzles which had long been solved. Found most but a few eluded us and only managed a small fragment of the wine glass Weatherwise it was a most unpleasant day with the temperature reaching 39 and an extremely strong northerly almost blowing me over at times. All up a very successful day in great company. Thanks for a great series
This weekend, I headed to the limestone coast / south-east for cave diving. On Friday night, I drove via the Coorong rode via Kingston, Beachport, and Millicent to Glencoe. Saturday was spent cave diving near Tantanoola and Engelbrecht Cave in Mount Gambier, and then Sunday after a cave dive, I returned to Adelaide via Mount Gambier, and the wine bottle/glass geoart in Kalangadoo. I was expecting a nice weekend of sunny weather, but instead, there was wind and rain for the most part.
Today, I travelled from Mount Gambier to Adelaide, and made a few geocaching stops along the way. By mid afternoon, I had arrived at Kalangadoo, and mentally prepared myself in completing the wine bottle/glass geoart. I had prepared myself for that duration, but was still hoping that it wouldn't take as long as it did. It was then on to driving home via Naracoorte and Keith.
I had completed a few of these geoart finds previously whilst driving through Kalangadoo, but still had majority of the geoart yet to find. I commenced the first cache at 14:15 hr, and I finished around 17:25 hr, so a good solid three hours of going through this series. I had considered this taking about three hours, but had hoped I could have it down in 2-2.5 hr, and it was a handful of caches that had me looking for 10-15 min that caused me to not hit my target. It was largely quiet on the roads, and I can only recall a few vehicles passing me whilst I had parked and searching around, so a good area to have hidden these. This cache was reasonably quick to find, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks GeoVenture2020 committee for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Found nice and easily enough but signing wasn’t a possibility due to logbook being saturated. . So replaced with a clean and dry sheet. Tftc
Starting on the wine glass on trip around this area. Logbook signed on a replacement sheet we put in. Tftc
Staying at an awesome place in Mt Gambier. Today is the day for the wine bottle and wine glass.
On a road trip to South Australia now the border is open with Kittykatch, and barb2e calling ourselves Border Busters or BB. Seventh day of our trip and loving the beautiful green fields and cool day. Awesome day to be out.
