We did a maintenance check today and the cache was still in place and in good condition. There is no need to trample on any vegetation - and the cache can be found by careful searching. GPS indicated 2m this morning.
Sorry 2y'stassies, after a thorough search I did not come up with the goods today for your Traditional, Waiting For The Ferry: Exposed. It may be worth a sanity check to see that it is still here, I have been known to be cache blind at times.
Hi 2y'stassies. Today I/we attempted to find your Waiting For The Ferry: Exposed. Unfortunately, one of the following happened and that made us unsuccessful in logging a find :1. Hadnt rubbed all the sleep out of my eyes. 2. Hadnt had breakfast so was concentrating on filling my stomach. 3. Had someone else with me and they couldnt be bothered looking and wanted to leave. 4. Had muggles hanging around waiting for me to leave so they could relieve themselves. 5. Wrong time of day. 6. Wrong time of night. 7. Wrong information given to me about where the cache is hidden. 8. Coordinates out by more than 10 metres. 9. Nobody has blown up the nano factory yet. 10. Too much or not enough water / light / GPS signal. 11. Flat battery in navigation device. 12. Cache has been stolen / muggled. 13. Such a small cache hidden in such a large area (fake rock in a boulder field / pico in west coast horizontal scrub)14. Too far up the tree to reach with the ladder AND the pole. 15. Too far down the hole to reach with a magnet or grabby tool. 16. I gave up looking. 17. I need to be somewhere else soon/now/a while ago. No offence intended! One of these may actual fit my DNF on your cache.
Wow, that's a tricky hide! We tried for a while but with such a hayso didn't want to disturb the vegetation any longer. Plus we could hear birds in there getting a stressed so decided to leave it for another time...
Back in Tassie for a short trip. Always great to be able to enjoy grabbing a few caches with my granddaughter.Had spent some time searching here previously but ran out of time. Returned today and happy to make an easy enough find. It helped as I had been looking in the wrong shrubbery. Thanks 2y'stassies for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.

This morning we did a maintenance run on some caches from the "Waiting For The Ferry" series. Of the seven we checked, all were in place and in good condition (except for one having a spilt plastic bag).We checked on this cache again as we walked past this morning. All is well - the cache is waiting to be found.
Heading back home to Victoria tonight, had a great 2 weeks visiting Tasmania, no luck here either. TFTC
The rate Im going finding these caches, the ferry would have to wait for me! Another cache I couldnt find and I would have liked to spent more time looking, but the heat was affecting GeoCleo and she just wanted to call it a day. Perhaps I could have another look tomorrow or save it for next time I visit Tassie.TFTC 2ystassies Keep smiling
After Parkrun did some grocery shopping and then we had to shift camps over to East Devonport. We had omelettes for lunch and then headed out for a walk to collect some more of this series. It was 1.2km from where we parked to the furthest cache but somehow the walk ended up being 4km there and back .Pretty pleased to find most of the caches just one dnf for today. We noted that the CO had done maintenance here yesterday so we followed the hint to the letter and eventually we found the cache. TFTC
Given the four DNFs since we moved the cache slightly and updated the coordinates, we went and checked again today. It took us a couple of minutes to find - coordinates are accurate and the hint is the key to finding the cache. Careful, systemmatic searching is required.
Hello 2y'stassies thank you for the cache anyway
No luck today.

We went to check on this cache today. There has been considerable vegetation growth since our last visit with the prostrate bush now covering a greater area. It took some searching, but we finally located it. Unfortunately, the container had not been sealed correctly and the contents were rather damp. So we have replaced the cache with a new container and logbook in a slightly (about2m) different location so that the bush does not have to be walked on to access the cache. The hint and coordinates have been updated.
No luck today.
Out for an evening stroll on our last day and grabbing a few caches.
Did find a lizard.

We are starting to change our caches to Premium Only because we have become increasingly frustrated with some finders who
* have logged a find without signing the logbook
* not taken care by replacing the camo after finding a cache
* shifting the location of a cache to "an easier find"
* meaningless logs which do not give the CO feedback on the state of the cache
These unthinking actions have resulted in a significant increase in maintenance, time we could better use for caching.
We had deliberately made our caches available to all who want to cache but as some are not showing respect, we are reluctantly changing many to Premium Only. We apologise to those responsible cachers who are not Premium Members but we have reached the tipping point.

There has certainly been a clean up in the area and the cache has been a casualty. The cache has been replaced in a nearby location. The coordinates and hint have been updated.

These caches were a perfect time filler while waiting to board the Spirit of Tasmania we enjoyed a leisurely stroll enjoying the beautiful weather. We enjoyed the variety of hides and had to exercise quite a lot of stealth. Thank you for placing these caches 2y'stassies.
A nice little loop walk here yielded 4 caches.
I was worried about the hint here but lo and behold there was your cache. Love the beach!

This one was indeed exposed but even still it was well hidden. Took about 2 minutes to locate it
The cache and contents are in good order given what it has to endure [:o]

Hello, We found your cache on day #7 of our Lap year trip.
Selling up our hobby farm in South Gippsland and putting everything in storage we are now living on the road full time in our caravan and ‘doing a lap’.
Sorry for the generic log, time, data and reception are all factors in the decision to use a copy and paste log, we will always endeavour to leave a photo or two with each log and always leave a favourite point and unique comment(S) where applicable for the truly outstanding caches.
Earth, Virtual, letterbox handmade and Gadget caches are always at the top of the list for us to find.
Thank you for being one of the CO’s who supplied us with a cache to find today.
Cache in good condition.

After attending the Community Celebration event in Latrobe, RLD4963 and I decided to head to our accommodation for the night in Devonport to dry out and get warm. After a hot drink and a bit of a rest, it was decided that the rain had eased off, so I grabbed the GeoGSP and headed off for a late afternoon walk. Managed to find 7 caches on our little walk, before another shower found us heading back to our accommodation for some shelter. Enjoying this series despite the weather, I imagine it will take a few trips 'up north' to find them all. A quick find at GZ.

Following some problems with some other caches, we were in the area today checking on this and other caches.
Thanks Budgietas for improving the cover over the container - appreciated..

A couple of days off from work and it seemed like a reasonable forecast, so I thought some time in the north west would be good with three aims. One get a break from work, two get a few puzzles that I need to claim a challenge cache in Hobart and finally get a few caches to get the wonders of the World Series done.
The drive up on Thursday was an indication of things to come. Regular showers and very cold. This continued right through the two days. At the end of each day my trousers, shows and socks where Completely saturated.
A few DNFs were had, mainly due to not wanting to search in the current shower more than anything else. Just over 100 finds for the two days, more on the first day less On the second.
Tftc.
This cache was 50% exposed. More than the cache owner would want. Recovered as I thought it should be

As advertised, this is Exposed - right out there, pretty much in the open. This is a great spot and a really cool series. TFTC
On nearing gz the cache was quite visible...no attempt at any cover..very disappointing to see caches left like that.
CO's put these caches out for us all to enjoy with considerable time and effort but that wont continue unless due respect is paid to how caches are left....so please replace as if they were your own.
Cache is in good order and replaced as the CO intended...not too hard.
Murder is giving the paws up for his jaunt around this lovely area...so much appreciated for all the caches 2y'stassies....cheers ST.
Murder needs more exercise so we're heading around to Ti Tree Lane area.

As we made our way to GZ we were please that it wasnt a bit further North as searching they would have taken us a good bit of time
This was a trip North primarily to meet up with some fellow cachers we had not seen in a very long time, Friday afternoon myself and Gooseandegg set off from Hobart to stay in Ulverstone for the night before meeting up with TazScout for a couple of days of caching along the North/Northwest Coast, we hadn't put much planning into it to be honest, with restrictions lifted we just wanted to catch up with some good friends and have a laugh.
Half of the caches we planned to find I had found some of before when they were listed as GCA caches and some of them even had their old containers with the GCA listing numbers in them, others were new series that had been put out since I was last up this way and we did our best to find as many as we could in the short time we had.
Thanks for all the caches

After reading the description we were relieved to read about WHAT was exposed as opposed to WHO!
To be honest we felt a little exposed here ourselves but we found the cache quickly so were able to move on expeditiously.
Thanks 2y'stassies

With Covid-19 restrictions eased I have got itchy caching feet. I had a day planned to go out caching but was soon stopped this morning as it was -2 Degrees and my car wouldn’t start. So got a new battery and headed out a bit latter. Was happy to find 9 caches, Pick up 1 trackable & replace 2 missing caches of mine.
Nice Easy Hide.
Thanks, 2y'stassies for placing this Cache, Love all the ones in the local area.

Another find while staying at the Discovery Parks caravan park not faraway. TFTC
This was Suscoe's final day staying in Devonport, so we decided to find a few caches before we had to head off along the highway.
We were not waiting for the Ferry today but we could see how this would be a great way to spend a few hours before departure. We also took on a few other caches in the East Devonport area.
It was a lovely sunny day with a seabreeze at times keeping things pleasant, but in some areas the sea breeze disappeared and it was warm.
Thanks to the 2y'stassies for this hide.
