I am again headed north for the weekend. And again, I have time to find a few caches on the way to break up the drive and stretch the legs. There is a good spot to park the car and a short walk up the hill to GZ where I made a quick find. The cache is in good condition. Thanks for the cache.
Found with Peppa on a day caching around Kilkivan. Thanks for the cache youngoldfella
Our regular playmate is off getting her theatrical fix in Sydney, so Beardman75 and I have had to find our own entertainmentWith a couple of target caches were driving the backroads of Kilkivan and surrounds in the Venn Vagon as Renaldo just wouldnt cut itQuite the walk for a T1.5Thanks youngoldfella
After a lovely dinner at the blackbutt pub last night and a peaceful nights sleep it was an early morning start today to score a few caches before work begins. My target to day is to get to 100 caches in the south Burnett LGA to get one step closer to a challenge cache Im focusing on in Brisbane.Upon arriving at ground zero I found a safe place to park the geowagon and made my way to ground zero. It didnt take long until I had located ground zero and I soon had the log out and was making my mark for prosperity. Safely returning the cache to its hiding place I was soon back in the van and off to the next adventure.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.Cheers
Parked nearby and I headed to GZ. Soon had container in hand. Signed the log and returned to where I found it. Thanks Sweet-Sour. All good with this cache.
Found it after a track through very long grass. Would advise bring bush wacker stick
TFTC. Sweet-Sour for your cache Roadside Quarry that we found today.
Arrived in Goomeri for an overnight stop. After setting up camp at the showgrounds we went out for a few caches. A lot of long grass but managed to find what we set out to find.
Find Count: 16344

Very overgrown - farmers friends galore - great spot, though - should try early morning - not midday!
Good find. Bit of a hike on the way up the hill in the long grass. But hey adds to the adventure. Parked in the Quarry driveway. So glad everyone is joining in the fun with the trinkets. Camping at Kinbombi Falls. Such a beautiful place.
Checking out the condition of the KKRT hoping to ride the trail next week. Collecting caches along the road as I was driving today.
Another day in Kilkivan. We were going to have an easier day but as usual, it didn't work out that way. We changed plans along the way which was a bonus and headed towards Tansey. Then we decided to drive a loop and headed off to Goomeri. Having no lunch with us we stopped in Goomeri to see what we could find. A lovely older small town with some amazing old buildings and a fantastic bakery. Great coffee, but the pies are up there with Mataranka pies. Excellent. We then headed out to Kinbombi Creek Gorge and Falls another unexpected find. We only headed out because there were caches there, but what a bonus. Well worth the diversion.
We then returned to camp a Kilkivan.
Lots of really good sized caches in good condition.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Sweet-Sour.

This is a very busy road, so its good to find some caches where one can get right off the road. Two Tassies out and about staying in Kilkivan for a couple more nights. So, a little trip back to Goomeri for a look around, liquid supplies (not open today) and of course a spot of caching. Found soon enough and in good nick in a usual place. Sweet-Sour TFTC.
Found on a Winter day with Roostaman,
on our 2022 Winter escape trip to Qld. .

Tftc Sweet-Sour, another visit to the area and plenty more caching to be done. Will be back again
Came from the wrong way so had to turn around. Drove around the back and had a hike thru the long grass. No snakes. Lol. TFTC
Pulled up along side the highway..choices..beat up through the long grass or follow the road around...a no brainer ..long grass further in. Ha. Still a great find. Thankyou.
Out and about caching north of Kingaroy, where I was staying for 9 days, doing a house-sit. Travelling around the countryside stopping here and there to find various caches in different locations. Logs signed and cache placed back where found. TFTC
Doing the loop drive of Wondai, Murgon, Goomeri and BP Dam, while staying in Kingaroy, and collecting a variety of caches along the way as well as an AL. Many thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining these caches for our enjoyment as well as showing us around your region.
Gotcha !!! On our way home from Glen Innes via a round about route. Not much time for caching today . TFTC
Hi there Sweet-Sour.
We found your cache **"Roadside Quarry"** today. (This makes our find count 25486).
We're camped at Goomeri Showground for a while. Today the plan was to head off to Kilkivan, but our "next closest" route managed to take us somewhere completely different.
We thoroughly enjoyed today's cache finds, and our tally today was 19 caches today & 1 DNF's. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels. Thanks also for not placing an eclipse tin or a 200ml Sistema here. It made us feel really good to find a regular sized cache here.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found each cache within a few metres of where our GPS said we should be looking. [:(!] (We did have to look a little further afield for some though). [:(!]
**Cache Condition:** The PVC containers we found were damp inside, but the log books were mainly in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Smiley Badge
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny

Another good stretch of our legs as we grab number 2 on our drive from Goomeri to Woolooga TFTC
Doing a circuit to take some pics of scenery and grab a few caches Really hot day but thunder rolling in now.
I took the Captain Katie TB to the nearby rock cairn then failed to find the cache after staggering up the hill in the heat So dropped it into this container instead

Another day caching out of Goomeri and still really hot. This was our first for the day and a nice seep walk up to the top to get me going. Once at GZ the cache was soon in hand. TFTC Sweet-Sour
Time to leave towards Kilkivan.
Going on the big lap.... 250 km! Kilkivan - Woolooga - Teebar - Aramara - Brooweena - Booubyjan -Goomeri.
Not a single DNF!
Thanks to all COs - we had a great day!

Drove into the quarry and through the grass, managed to pick up a couple of ticks as passengers
Spotted the track in as we were coming from Goomeri. Parked in the quarry and walked the last 50 metres

Goomeri for 2 nights staying at the showgrounds.
We enjoyed the many caches we did along these backroads, the countryside being a lot dryer than we expected.
The caches were generally typically roadside caches.
We must be getting old as this certainly didn't feel like a 1.5/1.5 cache

Nomads hunkering in their caravan near Murgon . We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Now we have to cope with Corona Virus ..... and social distancing. We are currently hunkered with our caravan on a farm at Manyung near Murgon.
Caching keeps us sane in a time of social distancing - when it is suitable. And now we have had some restrictions lifted, we have started caching again.
Today, is Mr D's big 70th birthday, so to celebrate (cos there is not much else you can do around here) we decided to go caching - and add a couple to the RTX series.
How many times have we passed this roadside quarry. Every time, it has been too wet, or we have been driving too fast (mostly. Today we made sure we stopped in time - before GZ - to enable us to walk up the hill, through the long grass to make the find. Thanks Sweet-Sour for the hide and the challenge.

A great opportunity to cache around Kilkivan. A selection of hides kept things interesting. Thanks to for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Out and about chasing the 20 new hides by this CO placed for the 2019 Kilkivan New Years event. Good hide and a quick find. I love driving in country like this. TFTC Sweet-Sour
Visiting Kilkivan for the annual Cache-up event. Sweet-Sour kindly offered to chauffeur me around for the day. Who was I to refuse? After finding a nearby cache, we took a pleasant stroll to this one. My caching buddy is the CO, so I was left to search for this one on my own. The cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
Attending the Kilkivan event finding mostly newer caches with a few older ones in between. It was an early start after a peaceful sleep in the swag and awaking to a rowdy chorus of birds.
