The rest of the family is away for school holidays so I decided to have a long weekend caching. After a day along the Murray yesterday, today I headed up to Yass. Wanted to clean up the endangered species trail and see what happened after that. Tomorrow is my big day - aiming to hit 7000 and set a new caches in a day record. Ended up in Binalong as well for a few in the afternoon.Didnt go past the cemetery last visit (as a coincidence my wife has sewing retreats at the monastery once a year). Dont like walking in the Phalaris particularly when the cache is wet as well (log not signable).TFTC GLISS!
Reperio 13:10Day 6 of our NSW south eastern caching tour, and Master Vitruvius and I today travelled from just outside of the ACT to home in Orange. With a number of caches left to do around Murrumbateman and Yass, we stopped by a few in this area before taking an extended route back home to Orange. Our final day was another fantastic day of caching, with very few caches that went unfound.Gratias GLISS!As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
Another lovely stopping point along this road and Trail today. Its great to see this old rail trail being highlighted and we are enjoying our day in Galong. Thanks GLISS!Domsky
Our aim was to go to the cementry. One road was too boggy, the other the gate was locked . So on to this cache which was an easy find. The log was wet but we signed with no trouble. TFTC
Found with isopeda on a return to Binalong and districts. Quick find along here after visiting the cemetery again to check out the caches this time and not just the fabulous headstones. Tftc
Out for another drive in the country with barb2e, picking up caches we didn't have time for the last time we were out here. TFTC Barb2e and I decided to partake in the CITO at Arthur Guerney VC and then decided to come up here to collect a string of trads that we never visited before. Watch out for the barbes wire. TFTC
A nice straightforward find here today. I do like railway line caches! Glad we didn't see any wriggly sticks in the grass (although I'm sure they knew we were here...).Thanks, GLISS!
Thanks for the cache, Found after some searching around, Log was wet and barely usable and will need to be replaced at some time soon.
Made my way carefully and watchfully through the long grass to GZ for a quick find. TFTC GLISS!
Just picking up a few caches along route today while on the road with ilook4geo. This was one of the randomly selected list. No problem here and two more names were stamped on the log to record our visit. Thank you to GLISS! for placing this cache.
Found this cache together with goingplaces2 and soon put both names on the log. The log book here was very wet, but it was signed and was then replaced as found. TFTC.
Today we decide to take another loop out from Harden via Galong to Boorowra. It was still bitterly cold with the wind adding to the chill factor, but thankfully only a few short but light rain showers.
We enjoyed the rolling hills and speculated as to what crops had been planted.
A mixture of traditional, a number of letterboxes and a couple of multis all finishing with a Lab in Boorowra..
A few DNFs but mostly straightforward finds.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache GLISS!.

Number 16 of 20 finds today plus 5 AL's with no DNF's on a Canberra-Bowning-Binalong-Galong-Boorowa trip. A good day out!
The second of this set today and a nice easy find on coordinates. Thanks again. Moving on to Boorowa.

The sun was pretty demoralising today, tomorrow turned out to be much worse, got this one no worries.
For a small road it is amazingly busy with large trucks. Thankfully able to get off the road with the van enough. Nearby bridge is still in good condition, they knew how to build things once upon a time. Tftc

Enjoyed following the tracks. Signed log as Team Flame trees. J-Quellen teamed up with the Ryan Girls for a day out.

#6706 5th for today
A last minute (for me) inclusion into this trip following my canceled trip to Sydney for Xmas due to COVID concerns. Joined by Joolay, TikvaNZ and Darkside-Dan with a supporting role from local Johnomawbs. Almost zero prep in my case, but it was still a fun and very productive day. The temperature hovered around 32C for most of the day, but we stayed cool & comfortable in Joolay's air-cond' geomobile. The 4WD trip across the "Different" series was interesting and a lot of fun. I wasn't expecting that !
Love a nice rail trail.
Thanks GLISS!

A full day's caching mission with StrangeTrousers, Joolay and DarkSideDan to Temora and back to Canberra. After attending today's CITO, we completed the Dedicated Adventure Lab in town, then headed out to drive the Different series, then did the Lake walk Adventure Lab. This was followed by grabbing most of the northern caches in town, before heading home again via Galong. After visiting the cemetery, we collected these rail trail caches. Cache easily found. TFTC.

Heading to Temora area for the CITO and to pick up some round the area with TikvaNZ, Strangetrousers and Darksidedan. Looking forward to a great day. TFTC GLISS!

We love a railway cache, and the discovery of old infrastructure. This one took us quite a while due to the huge growth of very tall grass at the site - in fact Mrs Winglen had to retire to get away from the pollen and leave Mr W to search. Seeds building up in the socks...
Thanks for the hide and showing us these locations GLISS!

Out for the day with Ottercreek29 and thus was on our way home, a quick find signed log and put back for next person to find. Tftc GLISS
Floating around while the others use their amazing skills to find the cache, well, not much help was needed, *ThrosbyOC* had things well under control. Log signed and replaced and the scene evacuated OCW *Throsbyonchurch* and *DustyJasperJet*. TFTC GLISS! Your efforts in placing and maintaining this cache is much appreciated.
Found along with another smiley ??? ??? too. Thanks for the placement of ***Galong to Boorowa Rail Trail #2***, *GLISS!*.

Found -- 6:11 pm -- Thanks for the hunt and bringing us to this location *GLISS!*.
**Cache Condition:** Cache good.
**The Cache**
Quick find once I got myself coordinated with which cache I was searching for. I was looking along the fence ... duhhh. Log signed in either our names or our initials in some switcheroo form of LP, DJJ, ToC and then returned cache to its hide'y hole exactly as found.
**The Day**
OCW *Little Panther* and *DustyJapserJet*. Cruised down to Binalong to undertake some cache maintenance between here and Wyangala, plus a short few days camping. Want to stay longer but we have a three day Scout hike commitment. Couldn't resist a trip to *Galong* since I have heard so much about the castle through my local historical society, and there is the added bonus of caches here.

***Please don't be hasty - zip and wrap the bags - money, time and effort that has gone into them.***

Afternoon in Galong for its caches. Found and signed all. Nice weather and all quiet on the roads. Thanks for placing and maintaining the caches in Galong
It was time to return and try to finish off the remaining TRLT series with Rapidlywild. Probably not the best time to go with rain and snow forecast, but we have never let the weather stop us before. So packed all the winter woollies, thermals, gloves and beanies and off we went.
We nearly got all the elements over the weekend even in one day snow, rain, fog, sun and wind but there was also some pleasant weather thrown in there for good measure. Roads in some places were a little hair raising but the trusty 4WD got us through safe and sound.
With permission from some of the cache owners we replaced saturated logs and on a few occasions caches.
All in all a good and successful long weekend away, lovely looking countryside and views along the way.
Quick find along our drive.
Thanks for the hide GLISS! and thanks for another fun filled weekend away RWLD.

Last month, FFLL and I begun the tackle against the TRLT series and managed to get a huge chunk done. Well, we decided we wanted to get it finished so with snow on the forecast, we bit the bullet and packed the thermals and set off to have some fun. We had rain, fog, frost and even snow but it was an awesome weekend for sure We reached out to the cache owners of the ones we had to complete to inform them of our intentions and also advise that we were happy to complete replacement maintenance if required, so we came across a few that after extensive searches, we didnt locate, so we replaced as approved by the CO. A large number of replacement log sheets left along the way also to assist with the caches with soggy log books.
Lots of places visited across the weekend, including lots of old churches and old cemeteries across the land. No issues with this one
Thanks for the hide GLISS! And thanks to the FFLL ladies for another fun weekend out and about the TRLT trails and others

Absolutely LOVE abandoned railway's, as you can probably tell by a handful of my cache hides back in ACT!
So was really looking forward to this series, and was not disappointed. Oh hang on, except for that one DNF, the only one of the day too
Theres just something about abandoned / forgotten things left in public places that interests me! So thanks GLISS for this mini series and highlighting interesting parts of the track along here!

There is nothing better than a sunday trip getting caches. Signed dsd. Thanks for the cache and the adventure. All caches were an easy find and all were in great condition with plenty of room in the logbooks.
Found on a warm Autumn day for a drive around the area.
Mostly nice quick finds and generally good safe hides out here.
Cache condition is OK/good.
Thanks for the cache GLISS!,

After belatedly realising that today is a 'leap day', I decided to set out on a caching expedition.
Leaving Yass a bit after 3pm, I headed to Bookham, across to Galong and then to Boorrowa before arriving back home in Yass at 6:30. A nice drive with 15/15 caches found.
Second find in this short series. Cache easily located.
TFTC, GLISS!

Woke up early this morning in my "luxury" accommodation in Cootamundra. Had a little bit of time to do some caching before starting my course at the rfs. Then a long day of learning before attempting the long 4 hr drive home.To brake up the drive, again grabbed a few caches. Had fun and made quick progress.

I decided to spend the day on a day trip West of Yass to Young, Cootamundra and Gundagai. It was a nice day that was not as hot as some recently. I was happy to find all the caches I went looking for,and only skipped one long hill climb. It was a great day.
Thanks.

Tankengine and I decided on a last minute trip together out and about the countryside.
We got a few caches that he didn't have and of course heaps that I didn't have. It was a lovely morning of caching ending with lunch in Binalong - which I highly recommend the Cafe on Queen. Thank you Tankengine for all the driving and company. I had a great day out.
This cache: I enjoy looking at the old rail system. The stories that this line could tell. The cache was found quickly, we took some photos and then it was back on the road to the next one. TFTC GLISS!!!!

Found on a wonderful day caching with dty73. Originally dty73 had other plans, but after those were cancelled, a plan was hatched to come out around here to do some caching. This area was chosen due to a new unfound cache nearby, and of course, all the new caches that came out here, after I just cleaned them all out recently! We had a most enjoyable morning visiting interesting areas and seeing cool stuff, and not a single DNF. After caching, we had lunch at the café in Binalong - excellent! Thanks for the cache GLISS, and thanks for the company dty73!
Today, I had some AL and was on my way to a retreat for the weekend. I decided to leave early and collect all the new caches around Galong which I hadn't found. I attempted five caches and made five finds! All caches were common hides BUT they took me to many great locations around the Galong which lead into great history lessons and views of the land. TB visit on all caches. I would like to thank Gliss for placing the caches, I found and for allowing them to enjoyment to me and the rest of the caching community. TFTC's
9215. Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1245. There had to be one at a rock. We were not disappointed. SL Tnx Gliss.
19,217. Found during a country meander this afternoon with minniek.
With the scent of new caches in the air we decided to have a restful sleep in this morning, then head out for an afternoon caching adventure. Galong was our main goal, and we were glad it was quiet around here today. Quick find at GZ. We knew we wouldn't be in with a show for the first to find(s) today and I'm glad we didn't try ! Congrats to Flintstone's - 7:50am ! We were still pushing out the Zzzz's then
Thanks GLISS! !! We had a great trip around here today.

Fitzy_1965 and I decided to go for a 'short' drive in the country today.....380km's later we were home with around 20 caches each.
All caches were found quickly and easily.

Yabba Dabba Doo *FTF* at 7:50am ! left my FTF pathtag for the 2TF.
After an attempt to get some of these caches up here had failed earlier in the week due to work constrains, I was happy to see that another lot had come out and set myself to make it work this time. It was a long drive to get to Galong but very rewarding while there. All caches where easy straight forward finds. And the nice quiet streets around Galong made for stress free caching.
The rural area was very pretty in the morning light and the little old towns I came through, especially Galong where really pretty and I was glad that I got to see them.
At this cache I was not yet tuned enough to see where the railway had been. But a quick find was made and I was off to explore the little road further north.
Thank you GLISS! for putting the cache out and maintaining it.
