Decided to archive as tree isn't suitable for a cache any longer and couldn't find anywhere close by suitable either
Cache is missing and tree no longer suitable for hiding a cache. Will think about if I replace it in a different way or archive
3rd find on my first night caching experience with Rayzr. Tricky but eventually found. Tftc
We still struggled with this one even though we knew what we were looking for Found in the pitch dark with the aid of torches tftc
Parked nearby and walked to the huts to grab the caches. Couldn't see this one so another look on the way back. Found the tin in the grass and log nearby. Ok thankfully but no lid now. Had a camoed tin in the van so replaced it.
Great find for the kids. It may be a "boring eclipse tin", but it kept the notebook dry. Forgot our pen though.
Great walk along here with Juju54 on an awesome winter's day, very warm wind- TFTC
Yuk!!!! . Great hide…. Found with Campmotherandken today TFTC Lovely run of caches!
Nice and dry inside but rusted closed, we used a barb on the fence to pry it open. Lovely walk, thanks for placing and maintaining the caches!
So as the end of the year approached I decided I wanted to have some family time together but away from home, out in nature. Having already found one cache we made the decision to park the car at the start of the track and walk along it to grab the caches. Second decision was to keep the total to five for the day. We had successfully found three along the track, which brought out total to four and left this one for Mr KN to find as we neared the end of our walk back to our car. Cache was found securely and easily under it's guardian.
The log was still dry and in good condition. The lid has now rusted and comes off when opening the container so could do with a replacement at some stage.
Found by Mr KN with Kiwi Nomad v2.0, Minecraft Boy and Boba Fett Clone, and myself of course.
After finding the cache we decided to mark the end of the year with an ice cream from Southbridge before driving home. Wow were they big.
Thanks for the cache/smilie.

Bewdy day to finish off the year with some caches, and hit a couple of targets.... Cheers!
Quickly found by my granddaughter . Thanks for bringing us here today. Lovely walk and great views of somewhere I hadn’t been before.
The first find on the list of the Rakaia caches - lovely afternoon for a stroll towards the river mouth
Between the last cache and this one the road definitely went to custard so we walked. Found the cache then back to the Rakaia Huts. Nice trail of caches.
As we are now in level 2 from 8th September geocaching is now permitted again
Disabled as we are in lockdown and geocaching is not a permitted activity during lockdown. Didn't think that I would have to disable caches that are not easy to get to without driving but too many idiots ignoring level 4 rules
Out on days caching adventure. Not just a boring eclipse tin with an old friend guarding it. Said hello and thanks for letting us sign log. Thanks for the cache lytteltonwitch.
This cluster of caches has had me tempted for a while; today with the NW wind (-> calm conditions on the coast) was a good day to come out here for a walk.
I couldn't find this at the start of my walk, but it came into view quickly on the return walk.
Thanks for this cache, lytteltonwitch.

I needed to find at least 6 caches today to bring my number of finds for the 3rd October up to at least 26 and thus into a deeper shade of green on GC's Daily Finds Calendar. A perusal of a map of my yet to be found caches showed that the number should be easily achieved during a visit toward the Rakaia Huts.
Nice quick find of the last one along the track. On the way back I got passed by many fisherfolk riding their quadbikes to go surfcasting or whitebaiting at the river mouth. That seems like a fun thing to do. .

Down in Christchurch with the Squirrel, ABCDF4 and eyespyben. During Covid lockdown, we solved a load of puzzles and decided that this would be a good time to visit. We've enjoyed a few days of good weather and seeing the Canterbury countryside. The caches have been in varying states - some good, some not so much. Our time here has been a blast, and we'd like to thank all COs who have made this adventure possible. Thank you and TFTC.
With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap). Logging all finds as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa - Our hometowns)... During Covid-19 lockdown, we solved a truck load of puzzles around Christchurch - Canterbury region. No use thrashing the old grey matter for no cause - We decided we should make good on this handiwork...
There are lots of interesting trails and geoart surrounding Christchurch. What you aren’t told is how far flung some of these caches actually are. Some beforehand advice would have been great, so here are some of my notes... You’re welcome!
1. Mobile coverage is patchy, especially in those quiet, rural areas where it was most needed. Saving caches to offline might show that you are prepared and organised...
2. There are many dusty metal roads on the trails. The car will get messy, and your hair will feel like cardboard at the end of the day...
3. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential. You will climb in and out of hedges, gorse, and other rough stuff. You might get scratched, cut to shreds, and bleed a lot. It’s not advised to wear your brand new jacket on the day...
4. Take lots of food and drink. You’ll probably be head down, tail up and not realise you haven’t eaten until late afternoon. There are very few shops or gas stations out there...
5. Make sure that you secure keys and wallet and know where these are placed for easy retrieval. A full box of pens might be useful too, especially if you’re inclined to free some into the wild...
6. Know the difference between left and right, and north, south, east, and west. Turning right and heading north will not get you to South Christchurch quickly.
7. Look with girl’s eyes rather than boys eyes... Some caches haven’t been found in a while and you might have to get down on your knees to pray.
8. Always be prepared for misleading hints. This is what turns simple caches into D5/T5 hides... “Head height” could mean the cache is positioned at your toes.
9. Have a sense of humour and like the people you go caching with. It’s going to be a very long day, and you might want to hurt someone during the journey...
10. Make sure you can operate your phone/device and it doesn’t crash when you most need it...
11. Learn to cut and paste logs because you’re going to repeat this function so often when logging all of your finds.
12. Above all else, have fun and be kind...
No time to waste today - We each had caching jobs to do, and our day was mostly planned... The beginning of a pleasant stroll... Thanks lytteltonwitch and TFTC.

After puzzle solving in the Canterbury region along with ABCDF4 we were invited to join Fap (from Fap & Gap) and Squirrel Nutcase to a week long caching adventure in the Canterbury area. With flights and accommodation booked were off, all met up in ChCh. and many hard dusty Kms travelled and many caches found, I think the Squirrel has said it all in his brief. Many thanks for the placements and Cos for bringin us to the very pleasant areas we travelled in to your region.
Checked cache and it is in good order. Slightly higher than where I originally hid it but decided to leave it there.
Went to a little road-trip to the Rakaia river mouth on my last day in New Zealand. The walk along the lagoon was lovely in the afternoon sun and sea breeze, and the caches on the trail were fun - not to difficult (thanks to very descriptive hints!) and some amusing quirky containers. Thank you for these!
We enjoyed a lovely family walk here with Ilmari_the_Red on the last day of his stay in Canterbury. Found relatively quickly. Thanks for bringing us on this walk lyttletonwitch!
Sadly the last one on this pleasant pathway. The river was a picture, had a great day out with the CO, and she did a good maintenance run. TFTC [8D}
Detour on the way home after work. Drove close from the other end and made it a short park, walk & grab. A lovely spot. Cheers.
Container , logbook ... Going next...

Another fairly quick, easy find, but it brought me to a cool spot, so totally worth it. TFTC
No need to make apologies for this find. We were so grateful that we had no more prickly branches to navigate, and it was so populated around here!!! There was a trail bike, a 4 wheel drive, many quad bikes and a jet boat;--- and of course the several groups of plain old walkers!!! Thoroughly enjoyed the chase(s)
The north end of our Saturday morning stroll, time to turn around and head back to the car. A few fisher folks down on the water, not sure if they are successful or not. Cheers
A nice quick find today, pretty close to the carpark. Cheers'
Things to do around town this weekend so we cruised around some of the newer caches.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

Well that's our exercise for a few days. Found cache on the ground put it a bit higher up. TFTC
Such a beautiful afternoon so we took a drive out to Rakaia Huts to gather up these new caches. This was the last one and it was a quick find. TFTC.
{FTF} well that was a bonus FTF as I thought all those had already been found. And hey a mint tin is good as it can create a smile and that aaahh found it feeling so what the heck. So never under estimate the power of the humble mint tin. I have only been out this far once before with the scouts for a walk. TFTH
