A je to opravdu mokr krajina - pobe Tasmanova moe, do kterho st mnoho ndhern modrch ek tekoucch z hor a ledovc, taky jezera a mokady a vude kolem detn les. Tam dojedu ovem a ztra. Dnes spm ve starm a opravdu zajmavm a bizarnm hotelu Otira Stagecoach Hotel. In the morning I went for a walk to the viewpoints of the Franz Josef glacier and found the only cache in the area. The view was pretty decent, even though it was cloudy. Then I moved along the Glacier Hwy through the wetland area and stopped at caches and attractions. I drove to the center of the gold mining area and saw the local museum and old houses and hotels. After the Alpine Hwy, I started to approach the mountains again and ended up for the night at the slightly bizarre Otira Stagecoach Hotel. There's everything from the stagecoach to Gandalf and Gollum from The Lord of the Rings. So hopefully I'll live to see the morning . Thanks to everyone for the caches and greetings from the Czech Republic.
Today before we headed to our next stop, Reefton, we popped over to Ross as we wanted to explore this little town. Then picked up a few as we made our way to Reefton We began to search and after a while the cache was found. Not in the best condition and the area is quite a rubbish tip. Ah well, log signed and returned TFTC Tim and Viv - ddm

Nice quick find with the helpful hint. As others have mentioned it is a bit of a rubbish dump in here - I just can't understand the mentality of some people! TFTC maitahisteve # 20,642
I imagine this was once a nice stop but now a disgusting bushland covered in trash and human feces, didny feel comfortable looking any further unfortunately
Accidentally wandered a bit far into the bush. Lot of rubbish around, I picked up a bit but need a good 3 or 4 bags to get it all. Once I wandered back out I spotted the hint and then the cache with no trouble. Log book was wet but still managed to write on it. Signed as Buzz. Nice hide. TFTC!
G'day from Australia!!!
Stumble Trip had been in NZ for the past 6mths, working on the Milford Track. Stumble's Mate flew in to meet up with her and we spent the next 2wks traveling the beautiful South Island in a camper. Whilst the weather wasn't favourable for the first week, we had an awesome time and travelled some 3,200+kms, seeing some beautiful sites and staying in just as beautiful campsite along the way.
Thanks to all the CO. Unless otherwise stated, all caches were found in good condition.

I have looked at this place every time we have passed, today was the day we had time to stop. A short hunt and cache was soon located although not the container we were expecting. Anyway, log signed, cache replaced as found and we were off again. tftc

With good parking nearby for the campervan we stopped and grabbed this one as we were passing. Great parking here for our campervan.
With such a helpful hint I quickly spotted the cache and soon had it out of its hiding space.
The log was signed and returned to where I found it, then onto the next one.
Thanks for placing this cache here and thank you for the smiley

Day 6 - Labour weekend extended road trip with Kiwicampnut - relocated to stay south of the ditch.
Woke to blue skies and spectacular views. Quite different from yesterday.
Wober with the new sealing if this is still a weigh station? Could still follow the line. Collected over a bag of CITO towards GC8NEAT.
Thanks for the cache maitahisteve

On a trip with Ruru_NZ to gather the tour caches needed or in my case not done yet. Should be able to knock them off on this trip.
Did a lot of CITO here which included bongs. Needless to say my grab is stick came in very handy

It took a while to find the hint items as there seemed to be lots here but then I recognised the hint and found the cache. We were pleased to have found it.
We were on our way to Ross with Mr C's cousin for the Sunday roast at the pub. Had to stop here and find you. All good with cache thanks maitahisteve.
It wasn't until I read some previous logs and the description that I made any headway with this cache and once I had done so it was a quick find.
I looked about aimlessly for a while - - - then read the description. That made the search much easier - - - thankfully. No-one stopping large vehicles here today. I wonder how often this station is in use. TFTC .
Nice to be away on another geocaching trip with tmann421, travelling to a few places in the upper South Island.

Cheers for the cache.

Jeepers this place is a rubbish dump. Could someone please hold a CITO here?
Taybeedragon and I are off on another weekend's exploring - again! This time to the West Coast. The company owes me some time so I took Friday off. Lots of rain on the way down, but after that it was a nice cloudy-but-not-rainy weekend. It never rains on the West Coast when I come to visit! Parked Zara in Greymouth and on Saturday came down this way in Toby. Taybeedragon had an excellent trip planned - two cycle trips, some TMGTs and adventure labs, 74 caches all up today.

Found with StreetWalkerNZ on a 3 day weekend to the West Coast to increase our find counts on some low number calendar days. Also we were keen to escape the dismal grey and wet weather in Christchurch.
Managed to park within a coupe of metres from the cache and SW quickly tracked it down. TFTC.

#18389. Based on the name of the cache I thought maybe there would be a guard rail and a quick find of a magnetic cache. But no, we had to take a couple of paces into the bush. Thankfully the hint was good, and the cache was quickly found. TFTC.
Quickly found thanks to the instructions. Sadly there is quiet a lot of rubbish around here. TFTC

I have a 3 month sabbatical mostly traveling around the planet. My goal is to find and log 1000 caches. New Zealand is my 4th station traveling from south Christchurch to north Auckland, my first visit here, its far away. This is my sabbatical-cache #576.
**Found on our February - March tour around the South Island. Logging back home in Auckland in Lockdown isolation**
Yesterday we travelled the Haast Pass and stayed overnight in the DOC campground at Lake Paringa. Today we are headed for Hokianga.
Plenty of hints here making for a nice quick find. Haven't heard that term for punga before. TFTC

Found on a three day caching journey over to the West Coast. We really enjoyed the challenging hours spent in solving the many puzzle caches and now the signing off on the log books. We had a great spell of weather as we traveled along the many roads in the area. Many thanks to the various cache owners for placing and maintaining their caches. TFTC
Had a great day on the West Coast todya lots of km's walked, grabbed heaps of caches, and had a lot of fun. Many Thanks Bitsprayer
Bullertrout, Ian and I have just cycled from Ruatapu to Ross. Now we are back in Toby for the return journey to Zara. Dropped off at the weigh station. This one took some time to pin down the correct hint items. Finally Bullertrout gets its snagged and tagged. Cheers
Making a long weekend out of Waitangi Day exploring the West Coast with Zara Toby, Bullertrout and Bro. Its Waitangi Day today. Exploring Hokitika, Ross, Hokitika George, Lake Mahinapua, Lake Kaniere areas today. Great time and visited some amazing places..

We had just walked about half of the Ross to Ruatapu section of the Wilderness Trail and stopped here on our way north again.
Reading the previous log it seems we were lucky to come out of this with clean shoes although we did note and comment about the amount of rubbish evident.
This was intended to be our last cache for the day but as we neared Hokitika we received notification of new caches, all in the Hoki area. Needless to say this wasn't our last cache for the day after all
Thank you maitahisteve.

This was our last find for the day until notifications came through of new placements. Excrement whether human, canine or otherwise is an occupational hazard for a cacher. We struck it lucky here and came out without a blemish. Not in the first place I looked for the find. Very nice hide. Thank you maitahisteve

FTF @ 10:00am.
I saw these new ones pop up yesterday and rang Mum at work but the weather was not very conducent to be out with the boys so it had to wait until today. After abit of a horrible morning with one of the boys it was a nice distraction to go for a drive. A nice quick find here and happy to see a blank log. Thanks for placing a cache here - the rest can wait for a future trip.
