Called by today and found GZ not too tidy - probably not the best place for a cache so I'll archive this one.

Looks like this one has gone missing. I'll disable for now.

Came up to the mountain very early to beaut the heat & muggles then enjoyed a very pleasant walk to WP1 were I quickly worked out the final. The Falls were running nicely and the scenery was lovely with those amazing old trees.
Had no luck at GZ and it would appear the cache may have gone AWOL.

Thanks for the beaut multi MattyRx

So I had perfect coordinates but couldn’t find the cache

We did the trek down to Curtis falls and while enjoying the view I figured I'd quickly check for any caches in the area. Huzzah! We were in the perfect spot to extract the clues to GZ! Which was on our way back to the car!! But alas, when we got there, our searching yielded nothing. There was a LOT of ground cover admittedly but we checked all the spots we thought could have been right but to no avail. We gave up after about 10 minutes of searching. Admittedly we rushed to solve the puzzle so when we get back home I'll double check my arithmetic; it could well be that we were completely off the mark

Mrs Gunnie and I had done the walk down to the falls a couple of years ago, but there was not a drop falling over the edge and it was a sad, sad sight. Much better today though and a far better opportunity to snap a worthwhile photo that just a dry rock backdrop. [^]

After checking out the falls, we did the adjacent circuit bad sadly, Mrs Gunnie rolled her ankle and the return journey was both slow and very uncomfortable for her. Twisted At the end of the walk, we made our way to GZ and while still sore and sorry, I needed her help to cover me from muggles over the road, while I retrieved the cache from what was an obvious spot when we arrived. She was happy to oblige, even though she's not a fan of the game. Bless her... Big Grin

With the cache revealed, I extracted it and quickly added my name to the log. Nice size container btw. Wink All done, I returned as found and replaced the camo.

Cheers MattyRx.

Friday. As a birthday celebration, we headed up to Mt Tamborine and we thought we’d grab a few caches. Taking our muggle sister/sister-in-law with us to grab this cache, we were amazed at how huge the waterfall was! Ms Muggle has lived up here and been around this area for many years and mentioned she’d never seen the running creek and waterfall this magnificent. We saw and heard lots of lovely birds and the stroll along the wet and muddy path was wonderful. Took lots of pics and also grabbed the required info and then headed off to grab the cache. Stopped for a coffee and cake. Collected the TB that was inside the container as well. Will move it on to S.A. in the upcoming weeks. Loved this cache and awarding a FP for the lovely waterfall and area. We are discovering this CO tends to have fantastic cache locations picked out for his caches! Smile

This was the 2nd of 4 caches found on this outing.

Thanks MattyRx for bringing us here Razz

Back at these falls again.
More water thanAmy previous time.
And even better no crowds.
Cache quickly found as the place was almost empty.
Thank you for placing this geocache MattyRx

After walking Sandy Creek Circuit I came here to visit Curtis Falls. Unbelievable how crowded it is around noon. Managed to get the coords while watching the falls. Had to wait a bit to grab the cache itself as tons of muggles were walking past but finally made it.

Came up here looking for some cooler weather - not very successful . Have been here many times and was so good to see the falls so full. The noise from the crickets/cicada’s was deafening - they’re obviously very happy!!! Thanks Dirtbag for the cache.

After all the heavy rain we had last week and the videos on the news of the water gushing across the road above Curtis Falls, we felt a visit was in order. We had been here many years ago and had been disappointed at the lack of water over the falls, however, today was completely different. The falls were at their best with water thundering down. There were lots of muggles out and about but one kind person offered to take a photo of us at the falls, see attached.

Found this morning amongst a steady stream of tourists before lunch. Walked a bit further than we needed to, zigged instead of zagged at the falls turnoff, but it was a nice stroll. Thanks for a dirt bag cache MattyRx.

FTF.
Wow it's been awhile since I've got a ftf.
I was deleting useless emails last night when I spotted these two newly published caches. Ooo, curtis falls? I've been there half a dozen times surely I have a photo of that sign but of course I couldn't find one. So a nice early morning walk was planned. I did nearly head out last night but I was already in bed half asleep.
I left early thinking I'd need more time but it only took half an hour to drive up, walk to the bottom and back up again. Heaps of wildlife this time of the morning and I even had a turkey walk along the track with me for awhile.
Nice quick find and I was heading off.
Thanx again MattyRx
