Found with Scouting4Gauls while visiting Scenic World.Interesting to learn something about the geology of the area.Answers sent to COTFTC
Thank you for the interesting geology lesson about sandstone. Visited with Scavenging Scout, answers sent to CO.
Visited GZ on a cold and drizzly morning. After a wrong turn that placed us at the base of a nice waterfall, we backtracked and made our way to GZ. Some spectacular scenery overlooking the mist filled valley awaited us. Soon found the earthcache location and answered the question which have been sent off to the CO for approval. Thanks for the earthcache geo-tek.The following TBs came through for the mileage: Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), Vanlith The Youngling, Hidden Creatures Geocoin TB, teamMerlin's Football, Merlin's Steed

The canyons of these mountains were deep and beautiful, and the nature was amazing. For us from Europe, every plant and animal is new and unknown. Thanks for the placing this geocache and the work associated with it. Bisoutje and I are on a long roadtrip between Cairns and Adelaide and have now touched ground at the Blue Mountains. We spent 2 days hiking in this beautiful national park and enjoyed every second. We saw numerous animals and plants, magnificent views over waterfalls, mountains and valleys and were able to hike many kilometers and altitude gains. The legs are sore but the memories are worth it!We saw impressive ripple marks all over the cliff walk but struggled a bit to find them at GZ. We answered the questions based on observations we made at different sites. They are sent to the CO.TFTC!
Greetings from Wales. After a few days in Sydney we have moved onto the Blue Mountains but blimey it ain't half cold up here. Today we first visited Echo Point and then spent the day at the Scenic Railway which was really good fun. What a spectacular place, I could have stayed for hours if it hadn't been so cold. We caught the cable car across and after a stroll to the waterfall lookout we came back here where I hope I've provided the correct answers. Thanks for the cache.
Answers sent and logging the cache after a long day of hiking! What nice views! The giant staircase walk to Leura is definitively worth it! Tftc!
Thanks to geo-tek for this Earth Cache.Suscoe enjoyed the walk with Phetlern and we submitted the answers required together. An interesting area.
11:50A day in the mountains with Suscoe. What an imposing display of cliffs, valleys and of course mountains. The legends of the traditional custodians are to be treasured. Perfect spot for an Earth cache with we did in conjunction with Suscoe.Answers sent to CO and image attached.A BIG thank you to the CO who placed this cache.37117
I decided that I'd like to do this trail in an attempt to see the sunset since it had lights along it. I got out early enough to be able to see what I needed to answer the questions for this earthcache. They have been sent to the CO.It really was beautiful there. I'm grateful that I was able to experience it at dusk. Thank you for the smiley and the fun!The day:Last night I saw an amazing sunset and was ready to spend the day in the Blue Mountains. I had a a lot of fun caching and sightseeing and getting PLENTY of steps in. What a great way to spend this leg of my journey north along the east coast of Australia from the U.S. Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but know that I appreciate you.
We are visiting from Canada and the Blue Mountains was on our "must see" list. We had a beautiful long walk on the trail and stopped to notice this geological feature. Thank you for bringing us here. TFT
Visited it during 28-days geotrip to Australia, N.Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Am.Samoa, Fr.Polynesia with Marci, Ch. Sometimes we logged as "MT" or "Jonea" or "MTCh". Thanks for showing nice caches and places. MT-Jonea from Brno city in Czechia EU. FP
On our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia, we arrived in Sydney yesterday. Today we picked up the rental car and drove to the Blue Mountains. It is still early when we arrive and we visited the Three Sisters. We looked for the answers to the questions and took beautiful photos.**geo-tek**, thanks for the cache.
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Signapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. We had about three weeks in New Zealand which went by too quickly. Yesterday we flew from Auckland to Sydney and today we are driving to the Blue Mountains where we will stay for one night. After checking in in our hotel we went out for a walk in the Blue Mountains. We wanted to see the Three Sisters. While we were here we walked the Prince Henry Cliff Walk which was amazing. We also passed this earthcache and had a closer look. Interesting to see. We would have missed this phenomenon if it wasn't for this earthcache. Our answers have been sent by e-mail. Thank you very much for this educational earthcache.

#5951Lovely weather today out on our walk from Echo Point to Scenic World. The views were spectacular!!Stopped by this EC and soon found the answers to the logging tasks. I've received confirmation from the CO that they were acceptable. I really enjoyed this walk. Thanks geo-tek for this EC and adding to my global geo-adventures. Cheers.

6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.Today, we visit Blue Montain.Guided by the GCs, we hiked in its beautiful mountains. Very beautiful landscape. Thanks to the caches we visited many sites evoking Australian culture and history. Thanks for the cache and the discovery of beautiful or original spots

After visiting Portugal, Canada, United States, Puerto Rico, Sint Maarten, Dominican Republic, Jamaika, Mexico, Belize, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Columbia, and Fiji we reached our 15th country around the world. Thanks to this cache, we visited some very nice spots and I enjoyed another perfect day on my holidays in Australia.
Found after a scenic journey accorss thr valley. A very interesting little spot.
This was an odd earthcache that I came across in a beautiful place.I think loci said it all really. I reckon it could do with a waypoint or two. Real obvious examples of different ripples and their shape carved in the rock. Because it's interesting, learning about these ripple marks and how they're created. So yeah, thanks for teaching me about ripples in rock and taking me to this beautiful view.
A very interesting ECwho would of thought ripple marks found here.Great EC and some excellent views along the wayThanks for the EC
Honestly expected a bit more from this Earthcache, not the best example of ripple marks I have seen and actually sort of hard to identify them / find the best example to answer the questions with. It is a great location with a nice lookout though, however I expect there would be better examples of ripple marks in sandstone in more prominent outcrops in the Blue Mountains. For a non-geologist the geology here wasn't overly obvious to the plain eye! I did my best to answer the questions however with what I was presented with and have uploaded my photo standing at GZMany thanks geo-tek

Today I'm leaving Sydney for a trip to the Blie Mountains. I saw such beautiful scenery, waterfalls, tree ferns, birds, eucalyptus etc.. It was enormous! My day was punctuated by all the caches I found along the way. They were all found without difficulty, and so were the labcaches. I just didn't have time to go and find the bonus. Thanks to all the posers for a great day. # Ripple marks Of course a lot of people here ! I guess they wonder why I am looking at the rocks rather than at the outstanding view . Once the answers are collected and sent to the orner, I also enjoy the landscape.Merci geo-tek pour la cache ! ~~~> Pipoune72, #.4435
Geohubby (GeoTigerAce) and I are headed off on a 4 week holiday from Brisbane heading to Canberra, Parkes, Katoomba, Sydney, Melbourne, Ballarat, Dubbo, and Coonabarabran as our main stops, with lots of side stops along the way planned. A much needed road trip to take in the sites and spend some time away in nature.Over the course of our 4 weeks I wanted to focus on Australia's 'oldest' caches, and caches of interest (e.g., iconic locations, interesting locations, lots of favourite points, and places I have never been) as well as hitting my next milestone (#600). It has been a wonderful trip and we have seen so much, and spent a lot of time caching and exploring little places of interest. Thanks to all of the cache owners for maintaining these caches and bringing us to beautiful places on our travels, and challenging us to keep on looking at the world just a little bit differently. Lots of memories have been made.Day 13: TripCache #46: Today our caching adventures took us to the Sydney Harbour National Park where we enjoyed a stunning walk alongside the Harbour taking in the beautiful scenery (and annoying mozzies). I had never seen the Harbour from this viewpoint, but it was just as beautiful as seeing it from Darling Harbour. The water was beautifully clear and we learned about a lot of local inhabitants (but, luckily didn't see too many of them!). In the afternoon we took a drive to the other side of town so that GeoHubby could buy a sausage roll from a place he had seen on the news that morning - unfortunately they were out of stock - but there was an amazing chocolate shop next door that we checked out instead. We also wandered the local area and took in the awesome street art before heading back to the hotel for the night.Great piece of geography with such stunning views as we journey along the mountainside. Thanks for increasing my knowledge a little bit more. Answers have been sent to CO.

This EC helped me to understand a random rock and pattern as we walked out to Lockley's Pylon so it was much appreciated.
Arrived here after a big day out walking in the mountains.
Thanks for the fun geo-tek

Enjoyed our trip over on the skyway learning all about the local area. With only a few minutes at the other side, grabbed some images of what we needed. Read all about what we were looking at and emailed off the answers when we got home.

AustraliaA country that has fascinated me for a long time. But the distance to get there was just as great as the desire to drive there. So it was dreamed but not implemented. But then our friend nalfion moved again. And this time to Down Under. That gave the go-ahead to plan a little more firmly for the first ideas and fantasies. The bosses were asked about a longer vacation and then we went to the travel agency with our rough ideas. For such a complex thing we wanted to have support. And after a few appointments there, the basic structure was in place.During our summer holidays we went to Sydney via Singapore, where we spent 2 days. 2 days in Sydney city and then we went with a small camper van with the whole family via Katoomba to Cairns. Our friend lives in Adelaide so ended up staying there for a few more days at the hotel before heading back to Germany without any lengthy stops via Melbourne and Singapore.A wonderful holiday that at least brought us a little closer to this huge country and gave us many great memories. We arrived in Katoomba late in the evening with our camper (ok, not really late, but after sunset), so no more sightseeing that day.We took the Scenic Adventure acrosse, back again, down, up, and all the ways. Thanks for the Cache.
We were here - Joodie & Joodax
after work walk, wine and relax!
geo-tek Thanks for the cache and yellow dandelion.
Oh, our big Australian adventure is over and all that's left is to wash the laundry suitcases, go to the pub with friends and discuss the way to the opposites with them and of course log unlogged caches. A few were found. Some required answers to be formulated and others we didn't log in at all and when I go back through the photos I find photos that need to be assigned to the right place .
While Brisbane was our starting line, Sydney was on our list as the final station from where we were returning home. We will not hide that we really liked Opera here. In addition to the construction, we were fascinated by the location of the refreshments underground with a promenade along the bay .
Opposite the Opera is a hilltop park with fantastic fig trees. We stood by them in silent astonishment, on one side a huge creation of the human spirit, on the other a simple creation of nature . We managed to see Rokwood Cementery, Bondi Beach and the Blue Mountains. I was actually brought here by joodie, who didn't want to come home from Australia until she saw the legendary blue peaks .
It was beautiful here. We had great weather and enjoyed it very much.

Oh, naše velké australské dobrodružství skončilo a nezbývá, než vyprat kufry prádla, zajít s kamarády do hospody a probrat s nimi cestu k protinožcům a samozřejmě dologovat nezalogované kešky.
Vyšlo nám skvělé počasí a moc jsme si to užili.

We were here today on our NSW coast leg of our ‘Around Australia’ trip.
We set off back at the start of 2021 expecting to go around Australia in 12 months - here we are still going in 2023 with about 1/3 of the island left to lap.
My (Geo Mum) personal Favourite experience: Too many to choose, Finding Gold and Opal high up there, working on a CQ cattle station was awesome too.
Favourite location: Gibb River Road/ Kimberley closely followed by Nhulunbuy/ Arnhem Land.
Best paid activity: Horizontal falls
Best free activity: Kings Canyon Rim Walk, Matt Wright putting us up for free in one of his helicopters was pretty awesome. (Let’s not talk about his current situation )
Most interesting location. Arnhem Land
What you have learnt: I wish I had something insightful to put in here, if I though really hard about it perhaps I do but I guess the most practical things I learnt are: Mango sap burns, midges are xxxx’s and dog beds are a versatile alternative to real furniture.
Miss the most: Family & Friends, closely followed by my garden and my chooks.
Look forward to the most: The Whitsundays
Regrets? Worrying so much and not heading off years ago!

After a delightful meal at the Yellow Deli went for a brisk walk around the cliff top to use some of the calories consumed. Noticed this Earthcache and answered the questions. A truly wonderful place on a beautiful day. Thanks for adding to the interest.
When I came here yesterday, I was so amazed by the view that I forgot there was an Earth cache here. That wasn't a bad thing, though, because I passed this place again today on my way in the other direction. Great place!

I enjoyed visiting the earthcache in the early morning when it was quiet. Fantastic views at this interesting location. Answers sent as requested. Thank you for the cache.
We are on a cachey 10 day holiday, starting off with 2 nights at Emu Plains to hopefully collect the new GFA puzzle caches around Luddenham and some more of the Band caches north of Penrith. Then it’s 5 nights at Oberon to collect some of the many new & old puzzle caches that we have solved around the area, and also hoping to complete the Oberon Adventure Lab. After leaving Oberon we will be visiting Jenolan Caves, for both the caves and the Jenolan EarthCache, then heading to Katoomba for 2 nights to ride the Scenic World attractions (Railway, Cableway, & Skyway) and to do a few caches of various types plus an Adventure Lab. We will end the holiday with a stop-off at Wentworth Falls for some more caches and a couple of Adventure Labs.
Today we will be riding the Scenic World attractions (Railway, Cableway, Skyway & valley boardwalk trails), then walking the "Scenic Rim" walking track from Scenic World to Echo Point, to complete the EarthCache, Virtual Cache, and Adventure Lab that are all located along the route. This was our 1st find of the day (day 9), and 166th find of the holiday.
After a fun morning at Scenic World we were now walking along the "Scenic Rim" walking track to Echo point and stopped off at this EarthCache along the way. We struggled to identify the correct ripple marks at GZ, but think we found the correct ones, and then we made our determination of their creation. Also used a tape measure to measure one of the "pock holes" and then took a photo of our Garmin 66s GPSr at GZ, indicating zero metres to GZ.
Photos & answers to the questions have been sent to the CO for approval. TFTEC geo-tek.

We think we found the ripple rocks. A fascinating insight into a very very long history of this amazing part of Australia. Photos sent. Thank you for the info.

This was our last cache for the day. We got caught in a bit of rain, but it just added to the adventure of an already awesome day. Thanks for the informative EC.

Found while on a get away with wife and son in the Katoomba area. With temperature get up to the mid twenties during the day. I am surprised the skyshuttle didn't go all the way across.
Answers sent to CO for checking

Have sent answers to the CO. I went along here for the adventure lab but due to finding a few caches before starting the walk I was running a race against time before my parking expired. Deciding to turn back I grabbed the earth cache on the way. I have been on the scenic railway but not the skyway. Thanks for the geology lesson… I think it is finally starting to add to my working knowledge TFTEC
Back in the Mountains after a prolonged absence because of corona and whatnot, I walked the Cliff Track from Leura Cascades to the Scenic Railway. I couldn't see any views on the way as the photo from the Lookout shows.
The ripple marks were interesting.
Thanks for the cache.
A favourite!

There has been a lot of rain and it is very muddy with a lot of surface debris. I hope I got these answers right

I found it with the help of a Geobuddy as I need to walk with a stick now. It was so much smaller than I expected.
tftc - after doing adventure labs we took the photos and started to walk but then realised we had to get information so I ran back and got the information
Tftc - did this in passing on the AL. Son ran back and got the forgotten information. Answers and pic sent to CO.
Beautiful view. Quite a few areas that have ripple-like patterns. However, my geologist GeoHubby says that they may not be ripple marks as “the sandstone is massive and has no distinct bedding. If they were to be ripple marks, they’d be asymmetrical. The structures might be part of the concretions evident in the rock. Can we get a coffee now?”

We had a look at the rocks for this earth cache along with ilook4geo and decided on the answers to the questions. These have been sent to the CO. We enjoyed the day exploring various parts of the Blue Mountains today on a really beautiful and very clear day. Thanks for creating this earth cache and bring us back to the area for another visit.
Came exploring with goingplaces2 and did this earth cache while in the area. Answers sent to CO. Enjoyed the time we spent here. TFTEC.
I thought I would be able to solve this one when I took the cable car from Scenic World - but thanks to Covid, the cable car no longer goes all the way across. After finishing at Scenic World, I started the walk to the Three Sisters from Katoomba Falls and found the answers to this one on the way. Answers have been sent to the CO and confirmed correct to log. Thanks for this Earthcache in such a fabulous location.
Today I headed west from Sydney to see the amazing pink flannel flowers that have bloomed this season after last years bushfires.
Following the idea of Stop, Revive, Survive .... well for me its Stop, Revive, Find-a-cache, I stopped here for a leg stretch and this Earthcache.
I was drawn by the sound of the waterfall so I initially walked the wrong way, but it was pretty. Then I came along to check out the view and complete this cache. There were a few muggles near GZ but they didn't take much notice of me wandering around looking at rocks instead of the view.
It was really interesting to see how the valley had regenerated after the fires. Today it all looks green and lush and except for Narrow Neck there is very little evidence of the fires. Isn't our bushland amazing!
There were some Yellow-tailed Black-cockatoos flying in the valley and making their beautiful call while I was here and plenty of Sulphur-crested Cockatoos near the waterfall.
Thanks for bringing me here, I haven't walked these tracks since I was a kid when I did it with Mum and Dad, nice memories on what would have been their wedding anniversary.
