We managed to find this one but the overgrown long grass was abit of a nuisance to get through. It probably wasnt this bad when the spot was chosen but still fun to find.
We pulled over and found this after boarding the sand dunes. Easy find. SL and RAF. TFTC
All good here....making our way down from Cape Reinga .Heading to campsite next for more caches .
On a caching journey up to the north with Supernannny and Net61 to find some caches. Many kilometres were driven over a few days and many caches were found. Thanks to all the cache owners for the placements. Mrsjag did the honours and made her way through the cutty grass to gz where the cache was soon located. Thanks Gorby and Tramyard for the new log paper. TFTC
Last day of our adventure for me and tramyard. I came up to Cape Reinga with tramyard who was on a mission to place a virtual cache at Cape Reinga. First cache for the day after leaving Rarawa camp site and another one I replaced the paper for. This should keep things going for a while. Thanks for the hide.
Myself and Gorby we stayed overnight at the Rarawa DOC campsite and we picked up this cache on the way down.Gorby added new waterproof logbook.TFTC!
This one was amazing to find showed a few of my friends nice hiding spot. Arohanui
Did this one on our way back from the cape to our camping spot. It was very wet and the log tore as i pulled appart. I tried to dry it as much as i could and added new paper and made sure lid was tight and standing upright. Hoping that that helps keep it drier. TFTC
Parched after 25km walking on the beach. Quick easy find and trackable deposited for the next finder
Found quickly before we drove down to the beach. Parking was a bit tight but we managed. The beach is great! TFTC
The cache seems to have grown in the interim, but that is just as well because the grass certainly has as well! Easy find thanks to the good clue. Cache is all good. TFTC
I hadn't actually planned to grab this one, but mr rattll wanted to check out the beach, so I figured I might as well grab it on the way back.
The container was swimming in a pool of water, ang had a heap of water inside, but the log is still dry.
Thanks for putting this here

We are staying in the Bay of Islands this week, and decided to take a trip up to Kaitaia and Cape Reinga. We made a small detour off the main highway to pick up this cache. No problem with the find here, thanks.
My friend was heading up this way on a maintenance run having just taken over the nalawood caches. I enthusiasticly joined in as I have been meaning to come back up this way for ages. My last visit was in 2018 and there have been quite a lot of caches placed since then.
We pulled up at gz and all my keen geocaching team jumped out to help find this one. Yeah right! Lis's crew is just Lis 95% of the time. A quick find as it was indeed in an obvious place to a geocacher. Luckily there wasn't a huge dust cloud so I didn't loose my way back to the car afterwards. Thanks for adopting the cache

Out on a maintenance run checking all the Nalawod caches I have adopted. Today was north of Awanui to the top. Replaced the log and now all is good with this one.
#11,559. Stayed the night in Kaitaia and now heading up to the Cape. Will pick up various geocaches on the way. Glad this was on the side road so a bit quieter here for parking. Headed over to GZ and found the reasonable sized container. It was still with a lot of water inside. i drained this out but the logbook was soaked. So went back to the car to get some waterproof paper and a new plastic bag. Signed the new logbook and returned the cache where found. Thanks nalawod for the cache.
Yes much safer spot than the last one unfortunately it was full to the brim with water. TFTC
Stopped of for Ra Ra Ra Rawara along my journey to Cape Reinga. Got this one tagged. CheersDay 7, Wednesday 26 January - Tokerau to Cape Rienga and back today with Toby and Lenny. Then over to Mangonui and Hihi before returning to Tokerau Beach. Zara gets a rest at Tokerau Beach. Got caught in a cloud burst later today. Incredible after 15min of rain there were creeks running down the side of hills as wide as Toby where there was green grass earlier. Then it was crossing the road over 150 to 200mmm deap and there were 3 crossings withina 1 kilometer stretch. So lets get exploring!Zara, Toby, Lenny and I are on our North Island expidition for a couple of weeks. Got The Seagnoid along for the first 4 days, heading to the Auckland Mega. PWGTs and TMGTs are on the radar for this trip. Lots of driving on gravel roads and visited lots of amazing places on our 6000km road trip snagging 200+ caches along the way. Visiting Cape Reinga, Bay of Islands, Gisborne and White Rock along our journey. Another awesome trip. Thanks to all CO's.
Today I decided to travel up to Cape Reinga to locate and sign off a few caches.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Quick drive by to check condition. Sadly someone had left medication in container and also a pair of socks - not a wise pair of swaps to leave. Replaced entire container, log, and some swaps. Good luck hunting.
Weekend in the north on my m8’s Harley... so as passenger I asked nicely to stop once or twice heading up the cape. Smilie here as passing. What a cool ride and new form of Geo wheels Tftc
Teaching the Ngataki School pupils how to geocache today so found a few after school for myself!!
Day 3 of our trip. Group of Team Seac came up for the weekend. Really enjoyed our day out seeing our beautiful country.
Sorry for the generic logs, but thank you for taking time to put the cache out, and for bringing us here. All logs signed as “SEAC”.

With the mega being postponed a plan was hatched for some of the Team SEAC crew to head north for some fun. Today was day 3 and was a BIG day for a lot of reasons...we set off at 7.30am and got back to our accommodation at 9.00pm but more importantly NZTravellers were going to celebrate their 6000th cache, I was going to hit my 3500th cache and it was 6 years to the day since most of us first met on a caching day out to Rangitoto Island!
Quick find in the obvious place
Thanks for the cache.

With the Mega being postponed we decided to head North with the team SEAC members and see what we could find in the way of caches. We based ourselves at Cable Bay making day trips to the various spots around Northland.
Our ultimate destination today was Spirits Bay and Cape Reinga.
All Logs signed SEAC to save log paper.

Out with Team SEAC on a long weekend raid of the upper north island. This was day 3 caching in which we cached around the very top of the North Island. This was a quick find following the hint. Signed Team SEAC to save space. TFTC.
Day three of our caching adventure to the far north.....with a group from Auckland, venturing up as the Mega Event was postponed due to Covid - 19 and we just had to get caching.
Headed over to this cache, signed in and onto the next....Thanks for bringing us here, a place we might not have otherwise have visited.
Signed in as team 'SEAC' in order to save logbook space.
Thanks for bringing us here to somewhere we might otherwise not have visited.

We pulled in to the side road for this cache and then decided we should continue on and look at the beach.
+ a marble, - nothing.

Apparently the beach is amazing - it was not quite beach weather today, so we just stopped at the turnoff. TFTC!!
I am using the excuse of friends of mine getting married in Northland this weekend to finally get to do what I have wanted to do for over 30 years now, visit 90 Mile Beach and Cape Reinga.
And of course whilst doing that I'm also making the most of a rare opportunity to grab a whole bunch of caches that either help me with my Jasmer grid, my Hidden Dates grid, or else are part of the TMGT, or lastly because they are an Earthcache or a Virtual which I like doing.
Cape Reinga roadtrip day 5 - the drive back from Cape Reinga to Auckland.
It was going to be a very busy day, trying to get as much caching done as I made the long winding way from Cape Reinga back to the hustle and bustle of Auckland to catch my breath before tomorrows final push back home to the lower North Island to finish what would end up being a 2300km round trip.
There was no other traffic around as I parked near GZ and I was able to conduct my search in peace. It took me a minute or two of rummaging around before I spotted the container, but all was fine with it and its contents so I took care of the usual logbook administration and then replaced it all exactly as found before returning to the car to crack on with the rest of my day.
Thanks for the cache.

Second to find on a cache in New Zealand! Thanks for the nice little pit-stop on the trip up North. We enjoyed the leg stretch and hunt for the cache.
Next stop on my flying trip north to advance the souvenir. Only a few ks up the road and a [ftf] available. Took my little car up the highway and made a quick find here. Thanks for the new caches in the area. TFTC
