Headed out on our 4 day anniversary road trip to Maryborough and out West. Lots of adventure to be had with my love SCAHPA. Log signed as CS & SC to save time and room - TFTC we have loved all the puzzles so thank you for the effort
Visiting Maryborough for a week and this long trail was our target to do along the country roads. Found cache and signed log. TFTC
Staying in Maryborough for the week and the Geocaching 101 series was on our list. Thanks to the TMP group for the placement and maintenance of this trail.
TFTC. It was an excellent trail though took longer than anticipated based on prior logs. Definitely worth bringing the tools mentioned in the other logs. Signed as KTDM.
Team members drove lengthy distances and converged on Maryborough for this power trail. It was an interesting trail with a mix of easy and challenging hides - how to access them or the log being the main challenge. We Macgyvered our way to several caches that were otherwise unobtainable. Fortunately we were able to improvise with some tools from the car. We concur with Madman001s suggestion that cachers should bring long tweezers (our and ToucanKB's popularity quotient went up when we produced two sets ), a screwdriver and something to hit it with (we improvised with pliers). We add that torches are essential, especially if you finish the trail at night as we did.Time wise, we added three extra caches to the list, took a fifteen minute lunch break and had to return to an elusive cache that required a PAF by a team member. It took 8.5 hours all up. Not what we anticipated after reading an earlier log but we worked efficiently as a team and needed jet powered boots to go any faster. (If anyone is developing a prototype, we are interested ). In retrospect, would have preferred to stay nearby after such a long day. Liked how a mailbox labelled with a smiley face echoed the way overseas trails like the Camino are marked. Signed logs in the team name of KTDM (KabbellaQld, ToucanKB, Danielle46, Madman001). Tftc.
We came to Maryborough to do the power trail 101 taking us over 8 hrs as a team KabbellaQld ,Danielle46 ,Madman001 and signed as KTDM thanks for the cache
There were four of us attempting this and the MVP turned out to be the tweezers...Seriously BRING TWEEZERS long ones. Also a hammer and a flat screw driver(Trust me on that one)Came from my usual haunt of the Sunshine Coast specifically to do this trail. Seeing a previous finder took 4 hours we assumed it would be similar turns out you need the speed force to do it at that pace .Took us around 8.5 hours in a team of four with all 4 searching. And we found most very quick with a couple exceptions. Overall the trail is in excellent condition I was very impressed that none were missing.I would suggest though maybe putting slimmer logs or water proof paper as the reason for so many needing tweezers was it was swelling up with moisture and also they were just so big compared to the container size so some ended up really jammed in which is not ideal. We also stopped for lunch at the water between 32 and 33 and after driving past 39 felt we probably stopped at the better spot anyway so that's a good option if you are hungry.Log signed with team initials KTBM Thanks for the caches and the work that goes into maintaining them
Kleine Tour auf diesem Trail mit schnen Sonnenschein gemacht.Cache flott gefunden und weiter geht'sThanks
Were on a holiday to see a friend and grabbing caches around the area. Thanks to all the Cos for their hides.
Continued this series today.Found this one in good condition. Thanks for the cach and many greetings from Germany.die Schloozes#2989
In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location. (HaHa). In your dreams, these cachers do. [:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort. Devilish Brilliant and Clever I like it Another one off the list TTBLNSL TFTC/TFTH/TFBUH - The Mary Popins [^]
Found with T4mmmy as part of our great Tiaro stay over this week. Thanks TheMaryPopIns for entertaining me at this location. *{Overall find #11985}*
We commenced the *Geocaching 101* series at 08:28 hr and finished about 12:40 hr, thus taking [Freddo](https://coord.info/PR8C14) and I approximately 04:10 hr to complete. Our mood fluctuated like all great power trails... the starting set we were enthused and motivated, and then the pace changed from a run to a steady marathon. As we headed into the third quartile, our smiles had gone, and it became a steady march, as [Freddo](https://coord.info/PR8C14) and I altered between driver and runner/walker to give one another rest. As we headed into the 80s and 90s, our pace and enthusiasm quickened, knowing two seasoned veterans would soon be finished with the darn 101s of Geocaching. The weather was perfect for a power trail "run", as it was warm enough to enjoy being outside, but not too hot for energy to be drained. We stopped at this location, and it took both of us looking before we spotted the prize. My look didnt yield anything despite the obvious spot, but the frog found it from another angle. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [TheMaryPopIns](https://coord.info/PRZXV2E) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------During this trip, I travelled with [Freddo](https://coord.info/PR8C14) (who was visiting from Adelaide, SA) and we visited Maryborough for an extended weekend.Friday was the drive north, which involved the full day with stops in Nambour, Eumundi, Pomona, Gympie, Tiaro, and Maryborough, and highlights included the *Evil* series and the *Big Aussie Day Bash* series. The weekend's two days prioritised the *Jolly Brolly Folly* (JBF) series and *Geocaching 101* series, with a Sunday afternoon trip to Utopia Falls. Finally, Monday's itinerary included a few last geocaches that were in town, and we then returned home via Beaver Rock, Maaroom, and Tin Can Bay.A fun and rewarding trip with great company and friends, and we were rewarded with good weather throughout our trip.Today, [Freddo](https://coord.info/PR8C14) and I had planned to complete the *Geocaching 101* power trail, and after warming up with a few geocaches on the way, we progressed to complete the series before lunch. It was then to complete some more interesting geocaches, and we proceeded to [Utopia Falls](https://coord.info/GC9P8PR) virtual cache, with a recommended walk into the water pools (but no flowing water). We then made our way back to Maryborough, and partially completed the *Big Aussie Day Bash* series. We had time to complete the Tinana Creek weir geocaches with targeted D-T, and we then arrived back at the RV park to catch pizza night for dinner.
Geocaching 101Looking for a fun way to exercise both mind and body? Try geocaching (JEE-oh-cash-ing), an outdoor activity that combines hiking with a tech-aided treasure hunt. The name derives from a mashup of geography and cache, and the game itself transcends territorial, political, gender and age boundaries.Getting started with geocachingYoure invited to join the worlds largest treasure hunt. Watch the video to see geocaching in action. Below, youll find tips and instructions on how to find your first geocache in four simple steps. Download the official Geocaching app to play.1. Open the appDownload and open the Geocaching app to see geocaches near you. Then, select a geocache to find!2. Navigate to the geocacheOnce you select a cache, go outside, and use the app to navigate to it. And dont forget to bring a pen so you can sign the logbook inside the geocache.3. Look for the geocacheOnce you navigate to the location, look at the recent activity and the hint for clues. Geocaches come in all shapes and sizes!4. Find and log the geocacheSign your username in the geocaches logbook and place the geocache back where you found it. Log your find in the app or on Geocaching.com to see your find count increase!Geocaching Etiquette for Cache Finders-To avoid tipping off others to the location, carefully remove the cache and then move away to examine its contents.-Check out the swag inside the cache and sign the logbook with your geocaching.com username.-Take one item out (if you want to), but only if you replace it with a new item of equal or higher value.-If the item you take is a trackable (see below), then you also have an obligation to move that item to a new cache.-Carefully seal the cache and hide it exactly as you found it. Don't try to make it easier or harder for the next person to find.Freddo traveled north from deep south to catch up with friendly Liz and Bruce and the RV Home base crew. David Wazza provided a sturdy vehicle and we traveled in style. We had good weather. Not to hot. Not to rainy. Lovely one day and perfect the next. The caches were found in a blur of Which Is Next and Where Are We Going Now. Some caches were harder to find than others. Some caches we could see from the car. Regardless all caches were found in the last place we looked.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. Having never been to Hervey Bay before, I arrived on 24th July after driving from Yass NSW (just outside of ACT). Here for a couple weeks and couldn’t miss the chance to pick up a couple of caches. It’s a great way to explore an area and go to places I may not have gone.
Today I decided to come for drive down to Maryborough again to look for a few more caches. I decided I’d take this road and see if I can grab a few of the Geocaching 101 trail. A quick stop and grab.
Container and log in good condition.

We have come to Maryborough to see a Queen tribute band at the Brolga Theatre and attempt the Geocaching 101 series. After reading some of the logs, we decided that we should take 2 days to complete this trail and we were glad we made that decision.
We found most of these caches quickly, but some of them took a while until one of us spotted the prize. We were able to help TheMaryPopIns team by replacing the logs.
Thanks to TheMaryPopIns team for doing an amazing job placing well thought out caches throughout the area and then maintaining them.

Our first full day finding the Geocaching 101 series with beautiful blue skies and lovely quiet country roads full of so many geocaches - what more could we ask for. What a great adventure. TFTC The MaryPopins
Sitting in Brisbane last week, knowing that the wife had a girls weekend planned in Noosa and wondering what to do with the long weekend. I decided that the motor home needed a run and the target was this the geocaching 101 power trail a few jolly brolleys and a smattering of local caches.
After spending the night in the Alan and June Brown car park which is a great spot to stay for free in town I headed out to start what I hoped would be my biggest day of caching yet. My previous best was 78 so I was pretty confident I could break that record today. I also had my best month target in sight so I was quiet excited.
All caches where found well and in good condition all signed and returned to there hiding spots. Very very happy to turn these caches into smilies.
A really big thank you to all the cache owners and maintainers for making these caches available to be found.
A really fun day was and I’m sure my numbers will look a lot healthier after what was a big day in the Maryborough region.
Cheers

Geocaching 101 Part #2.
Started the series almost one year ago to day, and back again to continue. First was to find some of the ones I missed last year, but #17 and #29 still eluded me this year too.
Parked geotruck near #34 bright and early this morning and took geobike along to see how far I’d make it this year. Couldn’t find #37, #38, #55 or #65 and pulled up for the day at #72, which ironically I couldn’t find either. Phone battery life isn’t great and I was on 12% by then.
So that leaves me with last 30 to do on a future visit.
Thanks for placing these here and maintaining them.

Day 7 in Maryborough and we headed out to try the Geocaching 101Trail. A number of our caching buddies often call us amateurs, but after today we surely must be professionals!
Congratulations to the creators of the trail as even though it is a few years old, it is well maintained. Coords were in general very good, and the hints were absolutely necessary as a number of hides were still quite challenging. We spent quite a while at some!
We finished the day with a few nearby caches. A big day and both of us are a bit sore!
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache TheMaryPopIns.

Managed to tackle another set of caches in this series today. I've got a feeling this is going to take quite a few days to complete fully. Luckily I'm staying in Gympie for the next few months giving me quite abit of time to complete the series!.
Mission today was to complete the majority of the Whereigo's and start on the Geocaching 101 series, Aiming to get to at least cache #33 taking out 1/3 of the whole series so hopefully in another 3 more visits the whole series will be finished!
All the found caches were in good condition unless otherwise specified, The logs were signed and caches returned back to their hiding positions.
Big thanks for the series Mary PopIns for all the effort of creating this series and the maintenance work with it!

*Thanks for the fun find!
Really appreciate the effort put into this cache series.*
First part of the trail was tough for parking and the road was really super busy.
We started at just after 2-00pm and it was fairly slow going with many tough finds, long grass and a lot were quite a way from the road. Was quite a bit harder after dark but we had a go at all in the powertrail.

Tackling the ‘101’ series with Team Wollaston.
First cache of the day and we were greeted by a friendly lizard, and another not much further along, then of all things a dingo
The vegetation has certainly sprouted since the recent rains, there was a few spots where we had to pick an entry point to avoid the thick undergrowth, vines and long grass.
Thanks to CO’s for taking time to set out and maintain hides and for showing us your very special part of the world

A wonderful adventure and fun day collecting this power Trail series.
We began our day early, having driven up from Brisbane the day before.
We were fortunate to be staying in a camping area along the Trail, somewhere close to number 17 in the series.
We had finds on all but two of the hides today, and found the containers to be in very good condition with plenty of room still in all the log sheets.
We were passed by the occasional car and local truck.
At least twice, a vehicle stopped to ask if we were okay.
Locals looking after locals I guess! Nice!
In total, and without stopping for a break it probably took us about four hours to complete the series.
We then had plenty of time to still head back into Maryborough and do a little more geocaching for the day.
Thanks TheMaryPoplns

Nice autumn day to start this series.
Packed lunch and the dog in the car and will see how many we can tackle today. Looking forward to this little adventure and hopefully we don’t come across too much traffic.

My youngest and I did a day trip to Maryborough today to start some of the caches on the trail. We enjoyed the hides and most of the wildlife (except for the snake) we saw. What an enormous effort to place and maintain these. We cached for 3 hours and got to almost halfway, with my youngest taking the opportunity to practice her driving. Thanks so much for the fun, we look forward to coming back to finish!
Day 3 of my week away exploring Bundaberg and Maryborough.
I decided to do this trail in reverse order.
It took me 4hr 45mins to complete on my own.
Today was a long day and I will be doing generic logs to all the caches.
A big thank you to all the CO's for their hard work in placing and maintaining all the hides for everyone to find.

After a long day yesterday it was nice to get in a good night sleep and be ready for another long day today.
Today will be spent grabbing a few around town, a drive out to beaver rocks, re visiting a few I had already done and grabbing a helping hand on one I had a DNF on. Then it was back to finish off the trail before a detour outside of Gympie. Yes another long day, but a rewarding one for us all, (us being Willis007, Simber15 and myself).
Around town there were some very interesting caches; a few puzzles, a few trads, a couple of whereigos, some labs and even a few multis. All caches were found in good condition and logs signed with individual names today.
Thank you to all of the CO’s for the placements and the maintaining of these for us all to enjoy. I am guessing I will be back again for some more up here as I did not get to complete everything, lol.
It was a fun day with lots of laughs and some entertaining sights along the way.
Now it was time to attack the remainders of the geocaching 101. We found all and had just a couple to go back and search again on but we found them all. Thank you.
Today will be spent grabbing a few around town, a drive out to beaver rocks, re visiting a few I had already done and grabbing a helping hand on one I had a DNF on. After a needed steak and chips, and a good night's sleep, our team consisting of Simber15, Chamad and myself, kicked day 2 of our caching weekend off by collecting some of the fabulous caches around Maryborough. I love the themes and quirkiness of the town centre, the AL and caches were very clever, and the murals are fantastic. A big shout out and thank you to the COs here. We then headed out to finish off the 101 trail.
This was an easy find, no problems at gz or with the cache. All of the caches in the series have been in great conditions and the co-ords for the majority have been spot on. A great series.
Thanks to TheMaryPopIns

Day two of our Maryborough adventure. Chamad suggested we start in the centre of town and complete the AL's before targeting some nearby traditionals, multi's and an earthcache. We also came prepared with some pre-solved puzzles and built a lap around Maryborough. After a break for lunch coupled with the Makku Mob we headed back onto the 101 Geo trail. Loved the adventures with Chamad and Willis007. Maryborough has a wonderful collection of unique hides and quirky art which we enjoyed very much. I will look forward to another opportunity to find some more!
I joined Ian and Penny today to finish the "Geocaching 101 series". I had previously found the first 9 caches. This was an enjoyable trail with a variety of hides. Thank-you to the group of cachers who created and maintain this trail.
Hi there TheMaryPopIns.
We found your cache **"25 - Geocaching 101"** today. (This makes our find count 25409).
We were visiting RV Homebase the other day, and Bruce presented us with a sheaf of brand new log sheets - requesting that we use them in our forthcoming hunt.
So today we headed out from Hervey Bay at 04:30 (in an attempt to beat the heat) - in the company of Ms_Sammii - to log the "Geocaching 101 series", plus any others we came across on our travels. We started at zero & from there we proceeded to log caches up to 101 before heading back to camp.
We thoroughly enjoyed today's cache finds, and our tally today was 105 caches today & 3 DNF's. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found most caches within a few metres of where our GPS said we should be looking. [:(!] (We did have to look a little further afield for some though). [:(!]
**Cache Condition:** The containers and log books were mainly in good shape. (We did do a small maintenance job on a couple though).
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Nothing
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny

Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that I can claim the finds.
26/12/20 Road trip around Gympie and Maryborough today. Thanks for creating this Powertrail for our enjoyment. Found it TFTC SL
Tftc and the series, some variety with the hides made this a great trail. Great work by everyone responsible for creating and maintaining.
Fourth day of caching in Maryborough and Hervey Bay, time too see how many of geocaching 101 we can clean up, and other caches in Maryborough.

A quick find while having a reast from highway driving. AS I am staying in Maryborough for a day or so I venured out to find some more of the geo 101 Power Trail and found a couple of others along te way. Hope to find some more while in the general area over the next few days. TFTC.
All quiet along the MF Rd this morning
So picking up Mary's Pop Up Caches was a relaxing affair
The further along the road I get the less traffic is passing by [^]

We are thoroughly enjoying a road trip with other geocachers in our caravans. This was our second stop here in Maryborough and we really enjoyed exploring the area and finding some local geocaches. Today we cached with Roostaman and DiMorgan who were great company and with all of us looking MOST were a quickish find. Logs signed RAD for our initials.
Please excuse the generic logs on this series but we really enjoyed each and every one and fortunately found all as well. Thanks to TheMaryPopins for placing them. It would have been a huge job and it is much appreciated.
Cheers and happy caching!

Found on a nice Winter day for a drive around with Di Morgan and Aussie Liahona.
The main mission for today was the Geocaching 101 series.
Mainly good safe hides and not many muggles around out here.
Cache condition is OK/good.
Thanks for the cache and the series TheMaryPopIns,

Maryborough Day 2
Today with Aussie Liahona & Roostaman we set out to complete this large trail. We signed with the initials of each team RAD. It was lucky we had an early start as the rain started just as we returned home.
The hides were mostly typical that we come to expect on country roads. In some places we commented that we were not doing these caches in the snake season.
A very enjouable day, good to have such good company for the day.

Finally, I am able to catch up on logging various caches I found last month Today, I was out for a day of caching fun with Nana Nel and wazza9 to find the Geocaching 101 series of caches and a few others we might happen upon along the way
We had a very enjoyable day in the area and marvelled at the variety of hides. After a short search, we were able to find the cache easily enough and with our names added to the log book, we continued on our way [^]
Thank you TheMaryPopIns for placing the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

We had a great day searching for containers, Found 107 today, with Wazza9 and Just a Trifle a lovely day out on the 101 series. Stamped log and replaced. Thanks to TheMaryPopIns
TFTC,
Heading out to do the 101 trail today with Nana nel and Just a Trifle.
We started about 10am and finished about 4pm, didn't rush and enjoyed a casual morning tea and lunch.
Finished the day with 107 finds.
While this type of trail can be boring, this one kept you on your toes and going hard.

Find 9 of 10 for my pre breakfast run today while camped nearby for a few days. Some clever hides to be found . All containers in good nick. Thanks for making this trail.
On our trip from Moreton Bay to Townsville and back, our last stop is in Maryborough.

Today I decided to head north and spend the day ambling along this trail. [^]
Arriving reasonably early the first cache was at 0804 and the last was at 1430. Plenty of interesting hides with some really abstract hints but that just made the day more interesting. Some caches had to be dug out due to the white ant activity and were becoming part of the nest. Most of the coords were pretty good too.
The road seems to have had some recent upgrades which provided some nice rest spots where they had stored the equipment.
Well done on a great series and my apologies for the generic logs.

We were one of the Beta testers for this series. It's About time I got round to logging them. You will enjoy this trail.
This morning was my chance to complete this series. I started with the first sunlight at 3101 and worked my way back towards the town. It took a few hours but it was a great atmosphere and no other people around.
Thanks for the series and fun!

We are staying in the area for a few days caching and started this series this afternoon. What a great run of caches we have found so far. All the ones we looked for were found and logged and this is one of them! Thank you to the CO for all the effort you have put into creating a great series. Can’t give a fav for every cache but will give one at the end for the series. We look forward to continuing tomorrow.
Catching up on a few cache along this series. Many thanks to TheMaryPopins for placing these caches for our and others enjoyment.
