Many a trip to Millicent was planned, locked out or down. More recently a plan was hatched for 4 of us to attend but enroute our number dropped to 3 which meant so re shuffling and re prioritising.
We (PPE and Crash 2079) held our own event, Grumpy Over Millicent or better known in our vocabulary as GOM amongst other TLA’s of the same acronym. It was great to meet some of the locals.
Many an adventure was had with TOTTs of various types. The weather left a bit to be desired with fleeting bursts of sun but mostly wind, over cast and plenty of rain but we still managed to hoist poles and ladders and climb trees.
Quick easy find this one. perhaps the camo has seen better days?
We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC.

GOMs do Millicent - Day 2
After our plans to attend the Mega were cancelled by COVID, the stars finally aligned and saw **bella at waggy**, **Purplepeopleater** and myself jetting off early on Friday morning. With such a variety of targets on our list, we needed to bring an assortment of TOTTs via oversize baggage.
It helped to have 3 sets of eyes here.

DNFd this one when it first appeared, returned to Millicent to catch up with people and had a bit of spare time on our hands, well we made it spare time so we could grab some tricky caches that we should have got when we were living down here. We spent many hours looking over this area, moving everything that moved and tried to move stuff that didn't. Finally had it in hand and both agreed "we looked there before", " maybe it wasnt here before", all those sayings that convince us we arent that bad at finding caches surely. Haha.
Thanks GeoVenture2020 for the cache, found it, signed it and replaced it.

Day 1 of the Mega weekend. Stayed in Robe overnight and was raring to go. A new lab cache series in Beachport meant a detour there before starting the cray fish. The weather was nice to begin with but then turned Millicent with grey dreary drizzle. Did a multi in Rendlesham where I saw the Misfits drive out from the crayfish they had sone them all before I even started .
The long wet grass and grey day made for a hard slog on the crayfish. Had to keep wringing out my socks. Lunch was eaten by 9.30am oops. Had a break at real lunch time and went to mega central which was very quiet but managed to do the 30 labs in town and find a couple of local caches and rectify an 8 year dnf. Back to the crayfish and finally they were all done - yay! That was a long hard slog.
Saw lots of interesting wildlife birds and lots of young beasties. Thankfully no snakes in fact prefer grey dreariness to snakes.
Then headed home via a few more caches and a few dnf at Glencoe.
An excellent first day at the Mega. Back to the farm to eat pizza and drink beers.
Thought I would come away empty here but suddenly spied it! TFTC

The colour of the cache stands out but it still took 10 mins to locate. Bad gps signal, multiple possible trees at GZ and the rain didn’t help. Much relief to have this one in the bag.
With this cache, now I only have one more cell in my traditional 81 matrix to fill.
Thanks for the cache GeoVenture2020.

Not sure what the go is with this. The cache I found was far from a DT 5. I suspect it’s been replaced though the original log was included.
This took us way to long to find, must have looked right at it a couple times. Some days your on fire and others not so much. Tftc
After not finding this one the other day we did a few PAF's and with this help we were able to find the cache, something we would not have done without their help. Thank you, you know who you are. SL TFTC

Found in under 5 minutes and somewhat by accident with an indicated 18 metres to GZ, just as well as I didn't leave a lot of time for this one with an event in Mount Gambier at 6:30, but thought I'd give it a try as the D/T is needed for my current loop.
Thanks GeoVenture2020

This weekend, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed to the limestone coast / south-east for some sightseeing, mountain biking, and sinkhole diving. On Friday night, we stayed at Robe, seeing the famous obelisk the following morning. We then drove through Little Dip Conservation Park to Beachport, then Rendelsham, Hatherleigh, and staying in Millicent. On Sunday, we checked out Tantanoola and the Tantanoola Caves, mountain biked through Mount Gambier Forest and Browns Lake area, and finally on Monday, we dived Kilsby Sinkhole before driving back Telford Scrub Conservation Reserve and Penola. A great long weekend of sunny weather.
Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I started the day with a Millicent breakfast, and from there, we headed through Tantanoola, followed by a visit to Tantanoola Caves, which was a fantastic experience. We then unloaded the mountain bikes for a ride through Mount Gambier Forest completing the Honan Mint Trail. Our final stop of the day was Mount Gambier's caldera / Valley Lake area, mountain biking some of the trails there.
This was one of my target caches that I needed to find for my traditional cache D/T grid (I had four spaces left as of the start of the weekend). We actually hadn't planned on visiting this one this weekend, and given my usual accommodation at Glencoe for when I do come down here, I knew I would be past here at my next visit. However, since we had two pairs of eyes today instead of just me, we decided to drive a little further up the road to here, so we could search this out. We started searching in the difficult places, scanning around the place, up and down, but then five minutes later, I ended up finding the cache rather obvious between all the trees on the ground. Hmm, that is odd - perhaps disturbed by muggles or animals? The cache container and logbook were in good shape. We tried to hid back where we think it should have belonged, after hearing some tips from previous finders here, so hopefully it is back where it should be, but the CO team may wish to check on this one to confirm the placement is still ok/relevant. Thanks GeoVenture2020 committee for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Good to find this one today. A bit of joint effort is sometimes what is needed!!!!
Thanks to GeoVenture2020 and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]
DNFd this as an attempt at the FTF, last year.
Came back today as the D/T rating was required for my Trad D/T grid.
Spent a lil time before it was spotted.

Today was the day that Rex and I followed Team Scoobsters and ttrogg for most of the day, then we separated about 3pm when I picked up muggle partner, who had ridden his bike down to Millicent, and made our way to the Millicent Community Celebration Event
We also had the pleasure of having the company of LiB, earthlight, The X-Trailers and JJ52 for a good part of the day too[:X] and RideTheGeoWalrus for a while in the afternoon
ttrogg had been chasing certain caches and so what I found reflected his choices and most of them suited my choices too
The first cache for the day was the infamous Don't Fall From Grace and it was great to have LiB there, alive and talking[^][:X], while the male monkeys made the climb
All up 11 from 1 event and 10 cache finds with only 1 DNF for the day
Thankfully the eagle eyes of earthlight spotted this cache for us all to find it

Had a caching day planned with LiB, earthlight and the X-Trailers out in the pine forests targeting some high D/T caches as well as some of LiB's cool creations. We ended up having a fun day that took us to Glencoe, Nangwarry and Kalangadoo, managing some group finds at the start of the day then leaving the group to do our thing. [^]
This was another group assault and surprisingly it didn't take as long as we thought to find the cache. It was lovely here with the smell of pine all around us.
Thanks for the cache GeoVenture2020.

Spent the morning group caching with JJ52, earthlight, The X-Trailers, locus cache, ttrogg and Team Scoobster ticking off a few higher D/T trads. Liz spotted this one quickly.

The great Southeast Saunter with Anymules down to the Millicent area to find caches associated with the postponed GV2020 mega. But with leave organized and accommodation booked the caching trip was not postponed! [^]
Day 4: Today we set off in search of some unusual D/T traditional combinations, just in case an SFE for that grid appears in the future. Of course there were plenty of stops along the way as we were passing.
We came and searched for such a long time. Nada. We phoned a friend and then searched for even long until Anymules spotted it. I gotta say that I must have walked past it at least a dozen times without seeing it and yet it is so obvious.
***Thanks GeoVenture2020 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

After three PAFs who all gave a slightly different description (and the worst was from the person who hit it - apparently this has changed a lot since he placed it), I finally spotted the bastard.

We came and thought to give this a try as we where passing. We looked at pine trees, and walked circles around them. The GPS was bouncing around and wouldn't settle. I just happened to be looking the right way and found the cache.
found with mogni. Today we cleared some more stray caches off the highway and did some smiles on your dial, the Honan Mint Trail, shades of ( insert cachers name here ) and started on the DRB ( Dead Ringer Band ) trail plus any other caches we passed along the way.

Today I started out at cockatoo lake after camping there for the evening before making my way to Mt gambier today cleaning up as many caches as I could along the way. A solid day with the weather in mint condition which is unusual for the south east. 85 finds for the day and 5 labs.
Thanks for the cache

Headed out with sylken for a full day caching. We thought we would be home in time for happy hour but alas after lunch we were taking way longer to arrive at GZ and then find the relevant cache! [8)] That'll teach Mrs F to complement herself on 'the list' being 'just right' duh. [B)]
Hmm this cache seems to be suffering some sort of cache creep but we found it after looking everywhere else!

Now that stage 1 of recovery from COVID-19 has been announced and we are allowed to travel around a little we had our first caching run in several weeks
We enjoyed a bright sunny morning before the rain set in this afternoon and had no trouble social distancing as we saw no-one at all on our travels.
After receiving a generaous hint from a local geofriend we returned again to try for this one and were delighted to finally make a find......and finally fill a spot on our D/T grid
Many thanks for the cache GeoVenture2020

Change my mind, I do like pine now. Phoned a friend during last search and got some help but still failed. Back today and it turns out we were looking in the right place after all. I had read the logs and wondered if the cache had undergone some cache creep. Looking where I hadn't I spotted it straight away and almost did a jig, I have finally filled the D/T grid.
While having the use of an excellent TOTT lent to us by a very generous local cacher we headed off to try for a couple more that would help with our D/T grid
We would have loved to find this one for our D/T grid but no luck for us today
Many thanks for the hide anyway GeoVenture2020

Seems to be a boneyard amongst the smaller trees...just a bit off track. Found what we were looking for after a reasonably short hunt.
I had what it takes haha However I left it where I found it. Not sure if that's the original hiding spot or not. Sorry to the next finder
Found It!
I arrived at GZ to find that gridge has pulverised everything within about a metre of the tree. After a bit of poking around I found something that wasn't smashed up and luckily, it contained the cache! I don't like pine anymore. I get the impression that gridge doesn't like it either...

Having no idea of where to look...the GPS jumped around all over the place...we searched for about 40 minutes...the sun had set and the search continued by torchlight...
At one stage we must have disturbed the cache as we found it turned up in front of us...
We replaced it back where we thought it came from...
*FTF*at 8:59pm
Looking forward to GeoVenture2020 in Millicent at Easter time

[FTF] Found 8.59pm, Hevwalker, TT016, PrincessAria1 and Elayna spent over 40mins looking for this tricky hide.....there seemed to be what seemed alot of red herrings but I think nature can be very tricky and mean sometimes...lol....we searched and searched each person with a similar style of careful moving and replacing nature as we went.......then as the sun was getting low and we were running out of light something caught hevwalkers eye....we had moved the natural coverage enough at some stage to leave enough of the cache to show though.....yay...definitely understand it's cache rating...TFTC.
No luck in time allowed, and that is four times that of a powertrail search!
