So out and about with weirdobiker and Riddells exploring the hinterland far from home over the border. TFTC and the FUN.
Out and about with Ronice88 and Riddell today to collect a few caches. We have come over to SA for the JLWE event and have enjoyed all the festivities so far. This is our first time attending this event and it would be great to come back again. We have enjoyed targeting these different types of caches in Sherlock today.
Today we were passing by, so stopped to some of this series.Cache was quickly located, logbook stamped. Tftc
Goodness there is spinifex occupying this area.Found with Ronice88 and Weirdobiker.TFTC
Heading to Lameroo for the JLWE event and stopped here for the Great Detective Series. What fun, well themed caches, many thanks to the COs Tftc
Staying at Lameroo for the JLWE event, we had today free for some caching our main aim today was this Great Detective series and their creative caches all deserving of a fav point, some we drove to others we made a nice looped walk, a straight forward find hereTFTC clare007
Day 3 of my holiday to the JLW event in Lameroo and then off interstate for a few weeks. Today I started the day off in Wynarka and ended up at the Lameroo oval for the JLW Event and home base for the next 3 nights. I managed to get 73 caches today and only 1 DNF's todayIt is amazing that these stories are still known and adapted after all these years.TFTC clare007
Found it! This series was mentioned to me by one of the COs when we happened to cross paths in Karoonda a few months ago. Have been meaning to come and knock off this series and today is the day! After completing a loop on foot I headed off to tick off the rest of the drive bys in the series. This was one of them. TFTC!
Day 6 - Tankengine, Youban and I are finally on our way home today. We have had a lot of fun in Adelaide and enjoyed our time here. Today we thought some inner city caches while the could be less muggles, then grab a few on our way to Swan Hill, where we are staying the night. This cache: A quick find and sign as we were passing by. Tftc!!!
Chooo ooo [Found] with youban and dty73 on our trip to SA to attend the Leapyear mega! Thanks clare007!
I visited 212B Baker Street and the Sherlock Holmes Museum in London when I was there two years ago so being in Sherlock South Australia I thought it appropriate to attempt as many caches in the series as I could with the time I had available. There have been a variety of hides with well themed caches and I congratulate the CO's on their efforts. I have really enjoyed the couple of hours I spent making the finds.
Sherlock, Camped up near the church. This is such an interesting series placed since we were last here, taking us to some interesting locations while touring the area. Many with lots of swaps. Some very good themed caches found. Thanks clare007 for hiding this cache.
Stopped through here while on a geocaching road trip. I wonder how many thousands of people drive past every day without even looking at this rock. Answers to the CO. Thanks for bringing me here.
I was out and about with "Fabulous Randoms" (how we signed the logs) - consisting of Feathertop, McLookers and TheDame. A girls trip which was full of fun and interesting adventures.A couple of days in the country was fantastic. We enjoyed finding your cache. thank you for your contribution to the game.---------------------------Will we see you at the Mega in Adelaide, South Australia on 29 February 2024? Check out GCA1DNA to log your will attend and to find out more.
These "Great Detective Series" caches in Sherlock were wonderful. Well done.Log signed "Fabulous Randoms"On a caching trip with Feathertop, McLookers and GoodLook. What a fun trip. The weather was warm and so was the company. We can really recommend staying in the 'new' Karoonda Tourist Park - the cabin was fantastic (and solar powered/kind on the environment). Thanks so much for placing this cache.
It was great to finally visit Sherlock. Great town name and local hides have made a terrific use of the Holmes legend..Caching today with Mclookers, The Dame and GoodLook. All logs signed as fabulous randoms...Thanks clare007

The fifth and final day of our long awaited trip to SA in the company of fellow Victorians, caching buddies Suscoe. An enjoyable and successful day, exploring Mallee countryside & small towns, including taking on a detective role! Well set up where place names, cache names and actual caches all fitted cleverly to the theme of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novel.
Thanks to clare007 for adding this fabulous cache series to the gameboard.

Suscoe and Phetlern headed East this morning to head out as far as Peake before turning around and working our way back to Murray Bridge via Sherlock.
It was a fairly pleasant day, a little drizzle at times but mostly fine.
We enjoyed seeing these old towns and finding the caches along the roads and in the bushland.
Thanks to

Back out today to finish this great series. It is a most beautiful morning and great to be out in the country. Thank you for placing this trail.
My main aim today is to finish off the Rotf trail which I started a few years ago. I had a family emergency on day 2 so had to go back to Adelaide. Enjoyed doing all the caches on a long day
There has been a group of caches sitting out here at sherlock for quite some time and we just never seem to make it here. Well today is that day. Up and down the roads in and out of the bush, some walking but all in all a load of fun.
The weather was good, temperatures were just where we liked it to be, no muggles and no bugs. What more can we ask for.

Today and the next couple of days are travel days as we make our way to the Mega in Rutherglen. We are travelling in a motorhome with a car in tow , so limited a little to where we can stop and turn around. We tend to only cache along the route with limited detours. We targeted a few caches as we travel the Mallee Highway, this was one we targeted.
Find count : 15860

We've seen this cache cluster developing in Sherlock for some time , so made it our destination today , and we weren't disappointed as we cruised around the roads and tracks, caching along the way [^].

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 184. Blackwood to Walpeup via Tailem Bend and Sherlock. There was a little rain as I walked around Tailem bend, but that was it for rain till I was home. I stopped to do a handful of caches around Sherlock, there are lots of great caches here, I look forward to having more time to finish these on a future journey.
As I headed around to the final of the where-i-go, I went past two traditional which where found without any problems.
Thanks for the cache clare007

With so many fun caches located around the Sherlock area, we decided to stay a while with ilook4geo and use our detective skills to find some more. We had a productive day and found all the containers we looked for, stamped all the logs, which were all clean and dry, before putting them back into place. Thanks go to clare007 for placing this cache. The appropriate attachments on the caches were also a great feature.
Came out detecting today with goingplaces2 and found each cache we wanted. Followed the trail and enjoyed the hunt. All were in good nick with plenty of room for more names. TFTC.
Another cache find on our 2022 South Australian Adventure. It is a wonderful day, just perfect for geocaching.
Once again we are on the trail this time in cahoots with Sherlock Holmes. Great variety of caches here, well done.
We are enjoying our time travelling SA. Visiting fantastic towns, ruins, beaches, and cliffs, but our favourite is the remote country. Thanks to all the COs for taking us on this geo-guided tour.

#19460. Day 20 of our Vic/SA trip with Robmc the geodogs and our bicycles. Sadly, we have now left the Barossa Valley and have made our way to Tailem Bend, making our way home slowly to Victoria. Today we had a full day of caching - a visit to Sherlock for some detective work - hard work and a lot of walking in such blustery conditions. Back to TB for lunch at the wonderful bakery and then via a chance discovery we did the nice little Armpit Series and a few others before calling if quits for the day.
We enjoyed finding these caches with their themes relating to each cache. Always a nice surprise - so well done. Somebody must have an endless surply of little animals as the amount of SWAG in each one was amazingly huge. All was good with the containers except one and we replaced that one.
Thanks clare007

Day twenty of our short South Australian trip with BettyBoo3747 and the geo-doggies.
Lovely weather today and the first day in Tailem Bend.
We spent the morning in Sherlock, lunch in Tailem Bend, then completed the armpit series and a few odd caches later in the afternoon.
I had not heard of this series before, but I should have. It is fantastic.
All the caches were of a good size, packed with swaps, and in good condition (except one, which is now in good condition!)
Nice walks around a small town and the local bushland areas.
We saw several stumpy tails, but no wriggly sticks.
Thanks for this great series.
Should have guessed this one, but we did not.
Thanks, Robmc.

Today I’ve come to Sherlock to make a start on the Sherlock Holmes series, attracted by the variety of cache types and sizes. What a great body of work here! All the caches are in great condition, spot on coordinates, well themed and chock full of swaps. Well worth the drive. Thanks so much clare007, CPwanderer and GizmosGang - i made sure you each got a FP, more for the series than a particular cache.
First physical cache after starting with the Earthcache. Im enjoying the walk!

We headed for a days caching ‘The Great Detective’ series in Sherlock.
All the caches were in great condition and how we wished we had little geacachers with us because this series would make a great family day out.
We loved all the different types of hides and the way the caches were presented....a top day out.
We had a ball at the ‘Sherlock Machinery Orchestra’ while enjoying a cuppa for morning tea.
Many thanks to the three teams involved with setting up this series....CPwanderer, Gizmo’s Gang and clare007...we had a great time

22,754. Found with minniek during our Post-Christmas escape to South Australia.
This trip to South Australia was on again off again due to the changing circumstances in the various states we had to travel through. Finally getting a green light from all 3 states we headed off early boxing day. Day 10 of our adventures took us to Geopets series, all the caches around Sherlock (interesting drive around !!), and then we did #277 to #230 of the ROTF series. All caches were found quickly and in good order unless otherwise stated. Next find of the day. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, and then headed off to the next one.
Thanks clare007 !!

Today’s adventures lead fitzy_1965, two groups-kids and I to the Geopets trail, Sherlock and part of the ROTF trail.
Geopets was a lot of fun. Grateful for the side tracks rather than accessing from the highway.
Sherlock took more time than we had anticipated but otherwise and enjoyable day made much easier with the kids getting out and helping.
ROTF is a work in progress. Hope to finish it tomorrow.

All under the Team Mattycat stamp today - the others may get around to logging eventually [:o)]
Back in our 4wd had to give it a spin in some sandy tracks too
(Even drove past an event two hours after it had ended without even realising it was on )
Had some fun around Sherlock finding the great Great Detective caches.
We all loved the variety and themes in both the cache listings and the caches themselves.
Another fine story.
Thanks for the cache smiley clare007

Another flying trip to Adelaide and an opportunity to spend a day out caching with Dr Owl and JJ52 was too good to give up given the Sherlock series was to be the target of the day. Sherlock is now clear of unfound caches for me and we got a few others here and there. Another fun day was had with loads of varied discussion and lots of laughs.
Sherlock and a plethora of caches, we went this way and that and managed to find the little blighters with some sleuthing.

We had a great day getting all the Sherlock caches with a few others along the way on a really nice day for caching.
We arrived in Sherlock and worked out a route so we weren't backtracking too much. We all loved doing this series, the varied cache types and the very well themed and made cache containers. It was a fun series and brought smiles to our faces on numerous occasions.
I enjoyed reading all the cache descriptions as even though I know about Sherlock Holmes I have never read any of the books.
Thanks for the cache and series clare007.

Today I was heading to Jabuk for the annual rally. A friend cancelled last minute which left me the freedom to cache the Mallee Hwy without time constraints. The GeoPets kept me happily amused before completing almost all the Sherlock series.
Thanks Clare007 for this cache and the series. A quickish grab with the car parked road side. I made extra extra special note not to squat down too far for this one. You would have heard me yell from the Bridge!!! Those spiky plants know no compassion.

Today FeatherWaite and I completed a bit of a circuit to find a range of Traditional, Letterbox, Mystery, Wherigo, Multi and Earthcaches around Sherlock, Malinong, Cooke Plains, then back to Murray Bridge. We also gathered the information required to complete the Adventure Lab caches around Murray Bridge and finished the day with a night cache. All in all it was quite a successful day with no DNFs and we enjoyed some good weather, albeit a little cool!
I enjoyed this nice little series of caches around Sherlock, with a nicely themed mix of Traditional, Mystery, Multi, Letterbox, Wherigo and Earthcaches. All of the caches were found in good order.

Thanks for the cache clare007!
This weekend, I visited Bordertown for the community celebration event. During the morning, it was a trip to Ngarkat Conservation Park, before joining everyone at the event while it bucketed it down with rain. The afternoon was spent visiting Wolseley and Mundulla. The following day, it was a trip north up the SA border to Pinnaroo, and an exploration of the vicinity via Mootatunga, Karte, Billiatt, and Lameroo. A return home via the highway allowed stops in Geranium, Jabuk, Peake, Sherlock, and Moorlands, arriving home well after dark.
Today, I headed out solo north of Bordertown to Pinnaroo via Senior and Ngarkat. A longer journey that I had anticipated. I decided to keep heading north along the Browns Well Highway, and find some of the out of the way geocaches in the vicinity through the back roads, including visiting Mootatunga, Karte, and Billiatt. I found the civilisation at Lameroo a welcome change, before continuing my westwards drive home. My final stop was at Sherlock completing *the Great Detective Series*, taking two hours all up I looped around those geocaches as it went dark.
When I first saw these caches published and promoted on Facebook, I thought that they would be a walk around a reserve in true CPwanderer fashion, but it was only this evening that most were accessible as drivebys. It was 5 p.m. when I decided to start this series, and so with the remaining light left, I targeted the EarthCache and then the cemetery. I then proceeded around the back roads to come back into town just as it got really dark, and so the remaining half, I found under torchlight. I enjoyed the creativity that the COs applied, and it was nicely themed to be hidden in this suitably named town. The COs certainly gave this series a lot of thought and preparation, and so a massive kudos. The various cache types were also an alluring bonus too. As previously mentioned, the 23 geocaches in this series took just over two hours to complete.
This was a quick find after parking nearby. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks clare007 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance, as well as the whole group who helped to prepare and populate this series: clare007, CPwanderer, and Gizmo's Gang.

I started 2020 with some improbable caching goals that only lasted until mid February.
Then came Covid-19 and caching began to take a back seat.
I even managed a 23 day NO FINDS streak! [:(!] Then caches started to slowly get published again and with restrictions easing it was time to go back to socially responsible caching again.
Today Anymules and I headed out to Sherlock for the The Great Detective Series and of course any others that popped up on the way home.
We found the cache and Anymules burst into a Johnny Cash song. Perhaps he had a hot curry last night! [B)]

Last Friday we made a brief visit to Sherlock and found a few of the caches in the Great Detective Series. We really enjoyed these few caches and it whetted our appetite to return to look for the rest. Today we had the opportunity to come back and we were fortunate to find the remaining caches in the series.
Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find of a well presented cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks clare007 for the cache and your contribution to a very enjoyable series.

On the way back from St Arnaud with The White Dog Gang we decided to end the trip with this series.
Turns out the caches weren't in either my GPS or TWDG's so we did them by phone. That made life a bit harder.
All caches in the series were eventually found.

We were supposed to be going camping on the YP for 4 days but then the weather forecast changed to hot then humid and hot and then a lot of rain. We decided this was not the best recipe for a fun caching/camping trip.
So today I tried to make up for the missed numbers we would have achieved if we had been on the YP and a big caching day was planned.
For once I was pretty organized and left home at 7.45am. First stop Tailem Bend and then on to Yumali UK finish the Popes series and clear a few dnfs and of course to pick up the 2 new ones. Then onwards to Sherlock to complete the excellent Sherlock series which I really enjoyed. I called in on a few new Wandering Hero caches on the way back to Adelaide and then couldn’t resist the fairy village caches at Callington.
Amazingly all caches o looked for were found today which was great. Once I got back to Adelaide it was time for a quick shower and then off to Vilis for a pie floater and a catch up with geocaching friends.
Saw lots of lizards and had a couple of bunnies almost scare me to death but thankfully no slithering snakes.
Great weather for caching not too hot and quite overcast for a lot of the day. Had a picnic at Sherlock. Sherlock seems to have its own emoji!!
THis is a fab series really enjoyed my searching and finding in Sherlock it was nice to get a variety of different hides. The themIng was really good. Thanks to the 3 of you for this series.
Nice quick find here TFTC

Earlier in the week, ttrog had booked Saturday for a caching trip to somewhere
So this morning, Rex, muggle partner and I piled into ttrog's car and off we headed to sleuth a new detective series at Sherlock [^]
That series is lots of fun to do with short walks in the bush and caches that will make most geocachers smile[^], especially the younger ones [^]
Apart from me getting ants in my pants, literally, and having a gorgeous Deer Hound [:X] almost mark his territory on my leg after he'd jumped out of the owners' ute to say hi to Rex and I, it was a great and relaxing day out with many laughs (usually at my expense) and a total of 32 caches found
Our very first cache for the day was a FTF too so that was a lovely start to the fun [:X]
After cleaning out Sherlock[^], ttrog kindly [:X] allowed me to find some of the more recently placed GeoPets [:X] series that we passed as we headed off to find his last few Wandering Heroes caches and muggle partner closed the day by climbing up high on a windy day to get a tree cache for me [:X]

The circle was red and it was having any adventure.
Love the Great Detective Series. The GeoVenture2020 committee was heading south for the weekend. Time find some caches on the way.
Cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for a fun cache guys. Love your work. We signed the logbook. Warning this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise.
Easter 2020 sees South Australia hosting the next Easter big MEGA event, GeoVenture 2020 at Millicent. GC82DAN. Check it out. We would love to see you there.

Heading down to Millicent with Freddo, Phoenix Flare and the newly minted Trigger Fish, where we met up with scamping after a sold 8 hours of caching. Then off to meet various people newly elected into their positions to continue discussions around GeoVenture 2020. The day managed to include 4 FTF's that we were lucky enough to grab.
This was find number 5 of 33 for the day for me. TFTC clare007!

After finishing the ROFT series we came and did this series. It was good to find cache containers that where a bigger size and nicely themed. The variety of cache types was good to see at well. All where found quickly. Mogni didn't like the over grown tracks leading to the caches.
On a day out with mogni and allister w. Today's target's where to get a multi cache on this calendar day for me, a puzzle cache on this calendar day for mogni and complete all of the ROTF series. All of the target's where met today. As a bonus we did the new released sherlock series at the end of the ROTF series. I am not sure what the weather was doing today. The forecast was for 28 and sunny but mogni's car was telling us it peaked at 38 degrees outside the car, with a hot breeze off the farm land.
