We were in Portland again visiting Dad. We decided to head across to Mt Gambier to try our luck at some caches there. Unfortunately the weather turned less than perfect. We were a little unsure about this one and how close it was to the house until we read the cache page. We located the cache in a logical location and added our names to the log book before returning every thing as it was.The cache Name is correct it is a fantastic view from GZMany thanks for the hide and showing us the view.

Found with Team Waldron during a trip to the south-east for a few days. On Day 1 we travelled via Meningie, the Coorong and Kingston SE to Millicent and Tantanoola. On Day 2, we toured around Glencoe and completed the STCL series, Colour by Song series, and the AooA series (and found any other caches along the way). On Day 3 we cached around Tarpeena then to Mt Gambier to do the Adventure Lab caches and down to Port MacDonnell. On the final day we completed the Honan Mint Trail and found the southern half of the Awaken and Live series before time got the better of us and we headed for home. Thanks for the cache BBJZN!

18-Jul-21
Doing a bit of caching today with ilook4geo, between Mount Gambier and Port MacDonnell way. The morning was fairly good with some sun and just some light rain. That changed later on when the rain arrived yet again. We did as many caches as we could first up and overall had a reasonable day.
A nice easy find was made of a cache hiding in the logical place. Had to empty water from the container. Thanks go to BBJZN for placing this cache.

18-Jul-21
Had a good day's caching with goingplaces2and found a mix of multi caches, traditionals, earth caches and old ones. It was fun and we were happy to add another smiley for each one to our caching map. Many thanks go to each CO for adding to the caching game.

A long weekend away with sir_spectre. Lots of 4WDing and for me getting those caches that I had been hoping to get to one day. A quick find for us today.
Thanks to BBJZN from mogni Smile

24-Jan-21
quick find. Not a fan of a glass container. I reckon that is going to be broken at the mega if not before.
found with mogni. The target this australia day long weekend was 3 island caches, ladder entry in to a cave, a few tree/structure climbs, finishing and mogni's tradition fizzy grids, driving for 10's of km's along the coast line at various spots ( longest stretch was over 30 km's ) and a multi on a calendar day for me plus a puzzle and multi on calendar days for mogni.

Easter 2020 was supposed to see South Australia Geocaching hosting the next Easter big MEGA event, GeoVenture 2020 at Millicent. GC82DAN. Due to COVID restrictions the event is now postponed to early October 2021. Check out the event page and our website for new details. We would love to see you at this four day event. Mega event sponsored by Wattle Range Council, Geocaching.com and many other supporters. Lots of caches to find including two classic geo art trails including the famous animated bottle and glass.

This long weekend, I headed to the Limestone Coast / south-east to participate in the mini/unofficial Millicent GeoVenture2020 Mega weekend (Community Celebration event), as well as some cave diving in the morning to early afternoons. Saturday afternoon consisted of a trip around Tantanoola's pine forests, Sunday was more east around Mount Gambier and those pine forests, and then Monday was heading back spending some time in Dismal Swamp. A weekend of mixed weather with some nice afternoons, as well as continuous rain and drizzles (typical south-east weather?).

Today with my final day in the south-east, I commenced with a cave dive at Pines Cave, and then did some maintenance at Gouldens Sinkhole. I joined everyone at the Mount Gambier lunch event, and then started to head north, finding a few of *BEAR'S ODYSSEY* series and doing a walk around Dismal Swamp with the *Awaken and Live* series. It was then a direct drive to Naracoorte for the *Celebration Ends* event, and then driving back home via a few *Wandering Heroes* geocaches near Tailem Bend.

I had visited this location back in February and had a DNF, and so with some additional intel today, I called by. In the end, I didn't need that information, as I saw the cache reasonably quickly - I don't think it was as hidden as it once was. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Not the best container since it can break, so a conversion to plastic may be more appropriate. Thanks BBJZN for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
It looks like quite the gathering at this house with many tents setup around the outskirts of the corner building!

I headed down to the South East for some family time now that Regional Travel is back on the agenda...
scramping, PrincessAria1, little GoosE & I headed off into the evening to grab a couple of caches being that PA1 had missed out on the earlier caching expedition as she was at school...
This took a lot longer than it should have but eventually it was found, signed and placed back...
Moorak is a lovely area that I have visited often as friends live in the area...
Wipes and Hand sanitiser were used in the retrieval of this cache...

Found with hevwalker, GoosE and Princess Aria tonight after we had an early evening meal. With clear skies and an amazing show of stars, the air definitely was crisp and jackets and torches were needed. After what seemed to be a long search we eventually found the cache hiding, not what we were initially looking for but cache was in good condition. TFTC and beautiful night sky view.
