Whilst checking on this one I was approached by a resident/neighbour who asked me what I was doing here and that he had seen others in the past and was concerned about people coming and going here. I explained geocaching to him but he did not appear impressed and I got the vibe he wanted the cache gone to stop people coming here.

Out if respect for the residents here, I am archiving this cache as I under estimated the impact it would have with people coming and going, although infrequent, it’s still not appreciated by the residents who obviously feel uneasy with our activity.

I also solved this puzzle many months ago and had to wait until now to be in the locality. I nabbed the last space in the log. A new one is needed. Tftc.

Solved it many moons ago and it has sat on my map for the duration.
Anyhoo, today was the day to pick it up.

I solved this puzzle quite a while ago. Today we were in the area and I was looking for an ‘Unknown’ cache to fill a gap on a calendar. The cache was found quite quickly in a beautiful flowering shrub . It is in need of a new log with only one space left. A friendly neighbour who was once a cacher was trimming his hedge next door and asked us what we were doing. On ‘fessing’ up he showed interest and surprise to discover a cache so close to his home and considered taking more interest in the activity again. Photo is of my partner, The_Evil_Muggle beside a plant in the vicinity of the cache that he had the privilege of naming: Grevillea moonlight.

Like a lot of Aussies whose multi lingual language skills are not super, I at at least found the resource to help the solve. Here in Melbs post silly season and on a mighty multi mission. Passing by and was pleased that it was a poifect time of day to find the very nicely placed hide. TFTC and the visit to a 'park' in the burbs.

Loved this puzzle – not hard when you have my heritage. Sometimes it's just nice to have that secret advantage. My son taught me something today. Its IYKYK. That's how it was with me and this puzzle.
The find was quick; Connie and I were zoning in on OSHFAM hides today.
Thanks OSHFAM, love your work.

A really quick find with Snips and Co. Did the puzzke quite a while ago and in the area to make some finds.

Working on both the Non-Traditional and Mystery Calendar Challenges, I have 4 days in a row where I need one. Problem is I'm almost completely out of Mystery caches near me. As such I started looking at the Mystery caches that are 'not really' on my way home. Day 3 I found this one.

I'll admit I asked for a hint of this puzzle from the CO. I was stuck going down the wrong path and even months ago when I was given a hint, I still couldn't get out of my mind the path that I was stuck down. This time when the CO gave me a hint, it was more along the lines of a Gibb's Slap. That did help and something that I had noticed earlier actually started to make sense.

Took about 5-10 minutes before I was able to find something that needed more attention. Lots of people around made it a bit harder.

Thanks for the cache OSHFAM

PS. Log almost full

This took a little fiddling to solve but soon had it. Today at GZ we first played with a pretty critter (photo) then made the quick find.

Thanks to OSHFAM for the fun and the adventure.

Lyn had solved the puzzle recently and today we had time for a park and grab. There was a little drizzle to contend with. I quickly located the cache and returned to the car to sign the log. Replaced as found. Thanks to OSHFAM for the cache.

Decided to have a go at the this one today.

After pondering a few minutes, a google search then a few tries with coordinate checker I got the green light.

Went out for a walk on my lunch break, a quick find for a nano at GZ.

Thanks for making my lunch break enjoyable today!

A really fun but simple puzzle. After a lot of trial and error, I was able to solve it on the train and with the help of my Dutch friend, Paul.
A very satisfying and well thought out cypher.

Found by Omegaman1971

Out caching with Rebel Acts and hopefully the rain holds off so we can put some smiles on the map.

This is an area I know well, I spent my first 20 years of life living in keysborough and Noble park. It has certainly changed over the years.

This is one of the caches we found today, cheers and thank you for the fun.

Cheers OSHFAM for the cache

Found by Rebel Acts

Out and about once again with Omegaman1971 for our regular weekend catch up and cache, to day we headed to an area where we both still had plenty to find and a few solved puzzles I was keen to pick up.

This is one of the caches found today. Had no trouble with the puzzle, took a few minutes to spot the hide.

Thanks OSHFAM for the cache.

Solved the puzzle a while back, simple enough once you know what to do.. and yes I used to play double Dutch back in the day… never was any good though. Thanks OSHFAM for providing another geocache for us to find. This surprisingly was a very quick find .. it all depends from where you look.

06-Feb-22
Relatively quick solve and -- uncharacteristically for me -- a very quick find. Still no pen on this ride, taking photos as evidence. Smile Thank you for the hide.

When I first glanced at the puzzle, it all looked like double Dutch to me, but with a little logic and tweaking, I soon had the green tick. By the time we approached GZ, it was dark, which I think was a good thing, however, the two Debbie Downers in tow thought differently.

Steve’s first question if I was sure the coordinates were correct was insulting, and his sidekick Crusty didn’t help when he announced we were about 600m from GZ. I ignored them both and started my search. Turns out Crusty hadn’t updated the coords to his GPS and Steve had to eat his words.

Crusty did make the find, so not completely useless on this one:)

Thanks for a great puzzle OSHFAM.

We found this tonight as Knight_shift and I tried to beat the rain on our caching adventures.
Thanks Oshfam.

The coordinates where kindly provided by my husband in our mystery exchange program. The cache was quickly spotted.

I was here for a meetup with some friends and decided to come early and find some caches. This was one. I had it solved before coming here and it was just a matter of finding it.

Another puzzle which was not too difficult. Fortunately this cache was found quickly and easily exactly where I expected it to be.

14-Nov-21
To be quite frank, I'm not sure how I ever got to the answer to this puzzle.
I do recall toiling over it for some time, exploring different leads and doing the whole "pick it up, put it down, wait a bit, repeat" ordeal for a few repetitions before any corrected coordinates were entered into the listing.
I did actually solve it eventually, but I am at a loss as to when that occurred, given that my resolving of the puzzle just before writing this log only yielded one authentic-ish source to work from that wasn't blatantly keyword fishing.
Certainly, the last step would've done my head in at the time!
It's nonetheless a neatly presented puzzle and ends up being a bit less simple than it may appear at first!

Luckily the hide was more straightforward overall, a good thing as the sky decided to start hailing just as we exited the Astra!!!
We cowered under the tree as buhfuhguh spied the prize and signed the logsheet.
Thanks to OSHFAM for this lovely little puzzle and hide! Smile

Out and about caching with Brainiac03 today, with showers reported to be ongoing throughout the day we both knew that we had to dodge the showers when we could and over all smash out some of the drips and drabs of caches we had to do in the area.

With an early start we were eventually rained out, well more so the showers because largely annoying so we called the day early. All in all a great day out, thanks for the cache.

Maintenance Check - all good here.

Cache in place and in good condition.

30-Jul-21
With blues skies and the sun shining you would think it was a perfect day for caching, but no, the wind whipping across the bay made it very deceivingly chilly. That however didn't stop us working our way down this side of the bay on our first caching trip since lockdown restrictions were lifted. We really enjoy this area and we are delighted to come back and pick up more solved puzzles as well as work through multi's and labcaches.

A nicely themed puzzle that was a lot easier to solve than some OSHFAM mysteries. We waited for muggles to pass us before using dutch courage to begin our search at GZ. Razz Once they were out of view we found the cache container in the logical location.
Thanks OSHFAM for the puzzle placement.

On a fuel and sundries run and decided to pop by to collect this puzzle. I must say the solving of it was a mixture of conscious thought and intuition. As for the hide, well, after having checked a couple of items I made my way over to the correct one and spotted it immediately.

I was out in the south east suburbs today but by necessity it was a day of cache replacement/maintenance rather than finding new ones. This was the exception and after a waypoint on another cache would have only sent me heading away from home I chose to come past this one instead. My first house in Australia was in Parkdale so this is an area I know reasonably well. I didn't get the puzzle at first but once I twigged an additional step it all made sense and I had some likely numbers to work with. Parked nearby today and strolled overo take a look. Didn't see it at first but a change of approach helped and I was able to add my name to the log. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache OSHFAM.

I have to be honest, I struggled too much with this one, my wife (who is much smarter than I) solved it within 5 minutes! I live very close so I strolled down today and located the cache and signed the log. All is in good order. Thanks very much for this cache, I plan to do a lot more mystery cache's from now on (perhaps with the wife's help).

Find #11288

With no work for me on Mondays, it gave me some time to clear up some long time solved puzzles as well as avenging some DNF's from the past. It was a beautiful summers day, so why not?

With a Dutch heritage, this puzzle was right up my alley. The distance to claim a FTF was not! Fast forward 12 months and I was in the area and able to make a fairly quick find.

Thanks to OSHFAM for the cache.

Big things are continuing to happen! *Are you joining the fun again in 2021?*

Well this one took a bit of using a well known resource to solve.
In the end I came up with four different results and used my map tool to check these against and whilst all within about 2kms of each other, a satellite image showed that three locations were a bit odd.
Nevertheless, I reached out to the CO and offered my solutions and I received a quick response that my “gut” feeling on one of those coordinates was correct.
Having some time today with GeoSon, we traveled to GZ and quickly found the container. Now it was just a case of waiting until Muggle lawn mowing neighbour could finish his chores and we could make the grab and do the business.
The cache, container and log are in excellent condition.
We visited 4 TB.

Although the weather wasn't the best we decided to get out further than 5km now that we can.

I had solved this soon after it was published but for a well publicised reason I haven't been in the area lately to grab the cache. A quick find. TFTC.

Love doing OSHFAM caches and this was no exception.
Sometimes it pays not to overthink a puzzle.
Thanks for another great cache.

Found at 12:13 PM GAFF5/3 at a distance of 6 metres.
I found it difficult to search for the cache at this location as there are many possible hiding spots (if you don't look at the hint straight away) and there were quite a few mums pushing their babies in prams going up and down - there must have been a blackout a year ago around here!
Thanks OSHFAM.

Happy to log this as my first ever Mystery cache! When starting to try to solve this last night it did seem like Gobbledygook but after a little while it clicked. At GZ it didn't take too long to find it although there were a few dog walkers about so some discretion was required. My pen decided not to work no matter what I did so have included a photo of the log as proof of the find (note to self: invest in some decent pens). Thanks OSHFAM for this interesting puzzle cache!

Quite a challenge this one was. Double Dutch it certainly was. I'm getting to like the challenges set by OSHFAM, learning that nothing is quite what it seems....... thank you for the adventure, on a day that was perfect for caching. Cold but fine weather. Thanks for the cache.

The solution to this puzzle came to us much faster than others have.
The cache however, took us a little while to find (sneaky little guy).
Thanks OSHFAM.

TrailStevo and I parked up in Parkdale and spied a 10km loop taking us on a walk up into mentone collecting a few cache and back to the car. Such a busy place on a Saturday night, people all over the place a we tried to blend in as dog walkers. Managed to cover the 10km and close to double figure finds i think, with one DNF, and a night cache that we had a crack at but didn't have the UV with me. next time.

Thank OSHFAM for this hide..

{276} Solved this one pretty much when it came out, but we haven't been in the area til this afternoon. Had to be thorough with the searching, but found it when coming from another direction. Stealth required, as quite a few active walkers & people out mowing lawns, etc. Thanks OSHFAM for bringing us to this little patch of green.

*Cache find # 10700.*

When this one came out, I wasn’t able to look at it straight away but when I did first look at it, I was thinking, what is this and the cogs started turning in my brain.
A few minutes had passed then I was on to something and I was happy with my self as I had solved it but after Earthbound chief had already paid a visit to GZ, therefore it was put aside until there was a day that I was needing to find a non traditional cache for the day and today is one of those days.
As I was walking along the path to GZ, I started thinking to myself, is this going to be a simple hide as it was a puzzle to solve or is it going to be a devious hide that may take some time to find.
I arrived at GZ, there was no one to be seen anywhere and the search began, lucky for me it was the first option and the cache was soon spotted and the log was signed.

**Thanks to OSHFAM for placing this cache.**

**Find #: 6821**
**Time: 12:10 pm**
**Date: Sun 2 Feb 2020**
After finally solving the puzzle, this was a good opportunity to get out ofr the house on a pleasant Sunday morning, after completing a few jobs.
Hmmm, a micro in a tree, sounded like the GZ search might be the hardest part.
When I arrived there, there was a bit of activity in the street, mainly people messing with cars, but they weren't interested at all in my suspicious activities.
Luckily the coordinates were good, the treee was isolated easily, and the search wasn't too hard, so it had a happy ending.

This find is decicated to my primary school friend next door at Eildon, where we lived for a short time durig my childhood, Lambertus (Barty) Johanesen. Wonder where he is now?

**Thanks for placing this cache OSHFAM**

Found at 1:41 pm.
When I was kid my neighbours were dutch and they had a poultry farm. As kids we were allowed to go and sit in the coop where the small fluffy yellow chickens were being raised and lay down and be covered with the cute furry little things.....ahhh, the memories. We also had the even better benefit (according to my parents) of free eggs. I preferred playing with the chickens myself.
So surely with this dutch "heritage" I could solve this puzzle. Nope, the first time I had a quick look and had no idea so put it aside.
I came back to it and tried something else and with a bit of massaging and swapping of things I had a solution.
Today on my last day of holidays before going back to work I headed out here for a look. There was a muggle trimming his hedges a couple of houses across the road so I peeked in from a different side and found nothing. Once he got the leaf blower out and was no longer worrying about what I was doing playing with my phone I spotted the cache from the other side and then soon had the log signed.
Thanks OSHFAM for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun. A favourite from me.

Having solved this upon publication I was finally in the area today with OHC. Her eagle eyes spotted this one as we pretended to loudly discuss what tree it was, to avoid detection from some nearby muggles mending a fence. Thanks for placing the cache OSHFAM and for the puzzle.

Solved this one last night as we were going to be in the area today.
Stealth mode was cranked up high as the fence next door was being eagely installed by 3 muggle DIYers.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, OSHFAM

In a former life I was an apprentice in an oil refinery on the west coast.
Our apprentice master was a dutchman named Bill Bol.
Another lad in my year was Paul Troost. We were good mates.
During those formative years we learned of all things engineering including Cheesels.
That one never failed to raise a chuckle throughout the classroom.
We also picked up many a profanity, as 15 year olds are wont to do.
Much of the curriculum was simply Double Dutch to us young lads but Bill was persistent and we all went on to become proficient tradesmen.
Thanks for the memories OSHFAM oh yeah, and bedankt voor de cache.

{FTF} Today we found Double Dutch on our travels. We were at home today, the Chief doing paperwork while I was doing fun stuff like washing, ironing and vacuuming and the Chief yelled out to come and look at a puzzle. I yelled beck I was about to have a shower & I would look in a sec... not realising it was so close and brand new! Fresh out of the shower I asked him if he’d made any headway. Well it didn’t take long before I realised what I was looking at so I called some numbers out for the Chief to put in the checker. He said no...I said try again because I think I have this right, he tried again and happy face...whoops he had made a mistake. We were out the door in two shakes of a dog’s tail and in no time the Chief was signing a mint log. This is our 2nd FTF in the very same park!
Thanks OSHFAM for being part of our geocaching fun.
