Reperio 18:14Day 1 of my little escapade towards Albury for the weekend, and after spending the night at Bowral, it was on to Tumbarumba this evening. On a drizzly day, it was nice to get out and find a few roadside caches, and this one was soon located and signed. This was one of the main focuses on this trip. I hadnt been along this part of the Hume and Hovell Walking Track, and it was an absolute joy walking and running along the trail picking up this series as I went. I enjoyed the run out to the furthest cache and picked up each one on the return trip. The camping area was a fantastic place to come back to and sleep for the night and get up early and tackle the other caches on the other side of the road. After a day of scrambling up cliff faces we decided to have a more relaxing day and do a few drive by finds, on a fine winters day. We looked up to the heavens and there she was. Tucked away nicely. There is a strong need for a new log. Tftc
Generic log follows, well, it is a power trail after all! After a 5 hours drive from home, and the last hour and a half in thick fog, freezing conditions, light rain and snow on the side of the road, I was glad to get out and underway. All hides found were in ok condition, and were replaced as found. While out on the 13km return walk over 3 1/2 hours, I was greeted and followed by horses, meet and jumped all over by three kelpies whod got away from their owner to say gday, tripped over a wombat, saw fish in the very full fast flowing creek, and spooked a juvenile stag. The amount of blackberries was staggering in the back half of the trail, and fear that a good growing season will all but make that part of the trail problematic. Currently the only thing keeping the trail clear are the deer. Started out walking with a thermal base layer, t shirt, Parker and dry coat, gloves buff and beanie! Yes it was extremely cold and uncomfortable, but I was going to do it no matter what! By the time Id completed what there was of the series, and turned around to jog back, I was back to a t shirt and gloves.Really enjoyed the time on the trail, shame the weather was so off, but certainly a very interesting history with the gold mining in the area!
Staying the night at Henry Angel Camp ground before heading to the Button Museum and west tomorrow.Walked the Hume and Hovell track to th old gold diggings. Have not been here for years so was nice to revisit. TFTC.
A good day for a walk even on somebody's property. Not a common thing for a City person.TFTC Ciscokids
This is as far as we ventured from the campground as it was too hot for us to walk any further. We got here to find a herd of black cattle guarding the cache but fortunately they were more scared of us than we were of them and they soon scattered. Thank for the cache.
Almost back at the car.The return walk was a lot easier today, as this beginning section this morning had been wet and it was raining, and we had even found it difficult to follow the track at times. This was because the grass was so long. By the afternoon, with dry grass and our footsteps having helped form the trail once again, it was a lot easier. A beautiful day out for a walk with the birds and the trees. Nature is awesome! Thanks The Ciscokids Domsky
Was planning on a longer walk in the are, however the ground was so wet that after the first 5, I had to turn around. Of course now sitting here logging my finds I wish I had pushed on...but I'll probably be back another day.
Thanks again The Ciscokids....

We’ve been waiting to walk the trail for 2 and a half years, thanks Covid! T4TC
Quick find, sadly we couldnt continue on as this section of the track is currently closed.
Quick find, however we couldn't continue on as this section of the track currently closed.
Went for a bush walk with some friends while at retreat but I ran ahead of them so I could find this cache, before they noticed something was up. A quick find at GZ and I replaced just as they were started to catch up. My only find for the day. TFTC
On a trip with friends to ride the rail trail which we did yesterday. Today was sightseeing - Paddy’s Falls, Paddy’s River, and the Pioneer Women’s Museum.
In amongst all that there was a quick stop off at the Hume and Hovell Track. Had hoped to find another couple of close caches along the track but it was closed after this one due to damage from the fires. Thanks to the Ciscokids for the effort in placing these caches - we’ll have to come back for more!

On our way to Merimbula for a holiday. Would love to be able to do this walk one day. Closed at the moment. Cache quickly found. Tftc !
So sad we can’t take the walking trail. Hope it’s fixed soon and we can get back one day. Tftc
Quick find. Track closed north of here. Apparently for two years. Couldn’t continue on to look for more. Thanks for the cache. I’m visiting from Perth.
Took a stroll around the camp grounds after setting up and quickly found this one, looking forward to the walk and a few more finds tomorrow,
Thanks for the cache.....and happy new years

The Hume and Hovell Track is on our hiking bucket list, so just add geocaches and it's like bees to a honey pot !!! It's certainly a well marked and maintained track, will be good when it's all officially reopened. Well, this was slow and steady as she goes, with the track meandering through stretches of long spring grass and some nerves about stumbling upon wriggly sticks !!! Caching report only average today with 7/12 finds, so suggest some maintenance is required after some previous DNF's listed in the logs, TFTC series The Ciscokids

Parked just inside the Henry Angel camp ground and wandered through the few campers to find the Trail. Once again the gumboots weren’t needed for this short walk as the three of us made our way to the starting point of the Trail. The muggle cousin was so excited to make her first cache find and SL at 5pm. The log sheet had been wet and was damaged, so we replaced it after signing our names. #8256 TFTC The Ciscokids
Decided to take a day off and go caching - needed 14 for the next souvenir and as I can’t go into Victoria I could head west to Tocumwal or head to the hills around Tumbarumba. Chose the latter as the potential number of caches was higher (and this is a nice part of the world). Not the most successful day - 6 DNFs and 5 Did Not Attempts (DNAs - at least 3 highly unlikely to be there). But did get 19 caches and enjoyed a few walks on a sunny but chilly day.
My original intention was to head south but parked closer to this one and thought I would have a look. The track is still closed but I thought I would have a look. Caches probably should be disabled until they are checked (or the track is reopened) as many are missing or need maintenance.
This one however was a quick find in the obvious spot.

We decided to take on the Hume and Hovell walking track today. It was a scortching day, but we were well prepared with enough water, sunscreen and hats. When we arrived at this cache, we saw that the track was closed. We found this cache and then headed off to the other side of the trial, that was thankfully open. The container was quickly spotted. TFTC!

Found this on 29/12/20 by smallest person in our party, the log is water damaged (damp and mouldy)and difficult to read. Took us 3 visits to find, used the hints and climbed up. Thank you Cisco group.
Geocache is still here but the rest of the track is closed and the other track on the other side is closed too due to a bridge collapse.
Between the fires and now a flood this camp site has had some excitement. Log was too wet to sign, thanks
Found with The Drovers on a fine sunny Spring day.
A nice walk alongside the much flowing creek.
Excellent scenery everywhere and no muggles around.
Just a shame about the burnt bush.
A good reach to this one and not many names in the log.
Thanks for the cache and the series The Ciscokids,

Headed up to Tumbarumba with Roostaman, to try and complete this trail.
Apart from a few branches on the ground, the track is in good condition.
We started at H, and worked our way down the hill.
A couple of logs were wet, but we still managed to add our names.
We really enjoyed our walk, through this amazing area.
Many thanks for placing these caches, The Ciscokids, and bringing us here.

First find of the day while hubbies were getting lunch ready. The track this direction was closed due to bushfires and floods - lucky we wanted to go the other way! We have had a great day grabbing #1 to #11 heading south. We will definitely be back to do the northern run once the track opens. Log damp and mouldy here. Hopefully a string of warm weather will dry it out. Thanks for the cache The Ciscokids. Grabbed an ancient wonder here.
In all are travels we would not have even thought to traveled to this location.
(Ha Ha). In your dreams, these cachers do.

Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch. Our first for the day, we were going to continue with these but found that the track was closed because of damage from bushfires then floods. Hopefully it will reopen soon so we can find the others in the series along here. TFTC
Chooo ooo found on a VERY smoky day! Indeed - so smoky I really shouldn't be hiking in it! However, I had just driven all the way here, and decided I wasn't going to turn back now. The fire damage from the recent fires is clear around here, although the track itself was mostly OK. It was still a lovely walk, but it would have been nicer without the smoke! Saw an echidna, some Gang Gangs, curious cows of course whilst crossing the farmland, and plenty of other interesting things! Thanks Ciscokids for the cache! Favourite point for this one at the start of the train on this side.
A quick visit to Tumba to grab some of these new caches Thanks for the cache SL Cheers
