I do like these sorts of puzzles (ie ones I can solve without losing what remains of my hair). It's sat on the solved list for some time as I am often conducting GeoTeen Taxi Services (gee, there's a good company name) whenever passing this area and my taxi passengers are in far too much of a hurry to let me stop.Today I actually made an effort. Here with the team, we made short work of the ascent to GZ.Thanks, Fox in Jox! A favourite from me.
It was lovely weather today. With ALL7 lend me around for some caches.Enjoyed with solved this puzzle, took me little long way and count up to next final.at here GZ, nice spotted with good coords.signed the log with good dry
I decided to attack some caches in this area and had this one solved for a while so it was good to go and pick it up. Normally, I don't climb the trees, I leave it up to the pros. However, for this one, I scoped the tree and decided it would be pretty easy, soon enough, there it was! Unfortunately, there was no log in the cache, and I didn't have anything on me to use so I'm logging with permission from the CO. Thank you FIJ for the cache, and a nice introduction and confidence boost with tree climbs!
TFTC Fox in Jox your cache Treat.Solve.Woof that we found today. The Canberra Mega is over and today is our last day of caching in Canberra. We went out with Wollaston and MeAndDe .We had a target list of caches to find and this was one of them.Find Count: 19557
Today I headed out with Wollaston and HansandLinda to pick up just a few of the great caches hidden around Canberra before the party ends and we all head our separate ways. We started with some more of the UGC challenges, headed for a few Id wanted for D/T ratings, then some interesting finds around Duntroon and finished the day with a few challenges we hadnt been able to reach yesterday. Thanks for find #6079TNLN
Found while attending the Mega and out with HansandLinda, MeandDe. A great day out. Another great day for caching. TFTC Fox in Jox
Here for the geobash. Caches signed as GJX. Our three gcoven JACSTeam and xrocketx. Today was seek all ye can find day! Fab mix of cache types with some valuable oldies and lots of sightseeing! Support effort as rocket scaled this tree like an expert! Tftc
Puzzle solved, tree climbed, and sap applied. I wonder if you can use the sap for hair waxing? I guess you'd need to ask about the bald spot on my arm!! Cheers for the fun climb.
Out and about during my trip down to the GeoBash Mega in Canberra. A fantastic time was had with both friends from home and family who traveled as well. We had amazing weather for the most part which allowed some walks and we even got out on the kayaks. I enjoyed revisiting locations from living here in my teens and early 20s. Sadly with the change to the weather later in the week I had to call my trip short. All caches found were in good condition which was fantastic. Thank you for adding to my Mega caching trip!
My day started off with a technical tree climb, then a bunch of paddling. Finished collecting random targets around town before calling it a day while absolutely exhausted! A nice climb at the GZ. TFTC.
In Canberra to attend the Capital Geo Bash mega event. I attended the Queanbeyan Mega event a couple of years ago which is when I did a lot of the touristy things. This trip was more focused on Geocaches. There has been an abundance of new high quality caches published since my last visit so more than enough to keep me busy. A quick solve and a fun climb. Thank you Fox in Jox, for placing Treat.Solve.Woof for the geocaching community.# # #14350 # #
Reperio 16:35Day 3 of our Capital GeoBash mega event trip to Canberra, and today, Miss Vitruvius and I teamed up with Haveanez and DazRascal for some tree climbing fun and adventure. Well the puzzle was one of the more simpler ones we found today, and the climb was another fun one to do. Gratias Fox in JoxAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
Found with Marcus Vitruvius after attending the Geocaching Wedding of the Year for Minnie K and Fitzy. Chasing particular DT combos this afternoon and this was one of them. Thanks so much Fox In Jox for the fun!
This cache filled our Mystery Cache D/T Matrix, and we only needed to travel 450 km to achieve this. In Canberra for the Geobash and needing to fill up the car, Steve drove us half an hour out of our way for cheap petrol. Of course, the price wasnt as indicated on his app, but it did at least bring us into the vicinity of this cache. With so much stuff packed in the car for this trip, including an inflatable double kayak, there wasnt any room left for a ladder. It turned out not to be a problem, except for trying to remove the sap from his sticky hands. Thanks for a great cache Fox in Jox. (there was a dog playing fetch in the park)
Happy New Year What a great way to start the New Year, of 2024. After my short sleep, it was time to check out of the motel and get bfast before heading over to the event. For my first cache of the year was the NYD event by the Lake. Then as a group we found a nearby multi cache. After that, ADAcache and I headed out to find some other caches including some nast I mean creative hides by TF5. Once we parted ways, I headed off to find some tree climbs and get lunch. Then it was time to head home but not before finding two more caches as I passed by them. Unless stated otherwise, the caches were found in good condition and were quick finds. TB visit. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTE & TFTCs After parting ways with ADAcache, I was off for some tree climbs. This was one of them. I've had this one solved for quite a while and given today, I was nearby, I decided on finding it. Soon after arriving, I spotted the cache and up I went. Then it was signed and it was off to the next one. Thanks for bringing me here.
Another I'd solved a while ago. But wasn't confident I could make the climb. But I dropped by today and spotted it. That's ok. So did the shimmy up and signing. Nice one! Thanks for the cache.
Puzzle solved and cache found with dalerious . We targeted this cache for its rare, nay, very rare d/t which we both need, and are practically non existent where we come from. You have to travel some great distances sometimes if you are a Challenge cacher. That is by no means a complaint as we get to see some wonderful country Thanks for the cache Fox in Jox. It was a pleasure to treat, solve and woof! A favourite point given. We came to Canberra with an immense and impressive list of caches. There was a huge variety and types, covering Yass and Goulburn as well .The priority for us this trip, was to sign as many Challenge caches as we could. There were many we had to hike for . There were a few that were not found which was disappointing, but plenty that were found and signed. Some beautiful country was covered by foot and vehicle, and we had a ball.I will be using this generic log for all of the caches, but I will mention if there was an issue with the hide, container or log where possible .Please accept my humble thanks for all CO's effort on placing out these awesome caches.
Climbed and signed with catnap777 @7:30pm on the third day of our short holiday caching in NSW and the ACT. This was a very special cache for both of us as it completes both our Mystery Cache D/T Matrix and earns favs from us for the occasion. Again we had a long list and a tight schedule, and again we have been amazed at what we can achieve in the time we have. TFTC Fox in Jox.
I was only just told about these types of puzzles a week ago so once I saw it I knew what I needed to do. After the rain today I wasnt sure I was going to be able to retrieve the log but alas it was just dry enough. I wriggled my way up and had the prize in hand in no time. Thanks for the cache!
Found It!
Solved this one easily enough then went to the final location today, climbed up a tree and started searching. Despite a lot of searching, climbing higher and more searching, I just could spot the cache. Then as I was about to leave, I noticed there was another tree here that I could climb. A quick look in that one and I soon found the cache. So to any future searchers: MAKE SURE YOU CLIMB THE CORRECT TREE!!!

Sims_family and Dromaniax are on day Eight of a our 10 day trip to Queensland and back again towing a 12x8x7 foot trailer that is loaded to the hilt and weighs quite a bit. Fuel efficiency has gone out the window with the Ginja Ninja (My Orange Mitsubishi Triton) going through fuel faster than I have ever seen before.
Day Eight sees us travel from Woolongong to Canberra.
This one was high on my must do list as it was only around the corner from where we were staying and it was just right to fill in a D/T spot on my mystery fizzy chart.
Thank you Fox in Jox for the hide and sorry for the late log as I am trying to catch up logs from the big journey.

Today is the eighth day of the Sims_family/Dromaniax big road trip to Queensland and back again.
We are towing a very big trailer, which was chockers, but when you have a mission, someone else is paying for the fuel, and there is the opportunity for nine days of caching fresh fields, you jump at the chance.
We have a long list of target caches and hope to cross quite a few goals off the list on this trip.
We found the solution for this cache to be a simple one, and it filled holes in D/T loops for both of us, and it was conveniently located a few streets Mr Dromaniax's nephew's (Simplylookin) house where we were staying.
Getting to the cache was almost as simple as the puzzle. After reading some earlier logs, we found the cache in excellent condition and had worn gloves to avoid sappy hands.
Thank you for this Mystery cache Fox in Jox.

A quick solve, I wish I had a dog like that!! Was going to climb higher before ground troops spotted it. TFTC
Well I finally made it to Canberra. There is so much to do here it is just crazy. I had a look at what is near me and what I could do without a car. OMGoodness within walking distance was a few caches and as I waked and walked I kept getting closer to more and more caches. I was on a mission while I am in town to get at least eight different types. I had a plan so lets see if I can conquer my task.
Manuka seems to have a variety of caches, I have completed a virtual, a trad, a lab and now a puzzle. This was a great climb, I signed the log and replaced as found. Then it was off to some more interesting caches in the area. I have employed the use of a beam scooter.

There were two options for solid tree-climbing caches; cache turned out to be in the second that I checked.
Log was quickly signed and replaced. TFTC!

I cannot climb.
So I have to outsource the climbing to Buckoraider but in return I’m usually the one who finds the most caches
Thanks for the adventure!

Solved this one a long while ago and finally went and retrieved it today, with Baristayan. Very nice little park in a great area! And a very fun find too I must say.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Out and about again, a trip out to Kosciuszko to sign some high elevation caches. Phone was running out of power super quick so had to switch off every time to search with Jindabyne Exploration party. Then I did a few on the way to Cooma. Made the way back to Canberra where I hit some hides around Mt Airlie then back to Queanbeyan.
Had a big session of Adventure Labs too.
Found a variety of hides and in different areas which made for a nice day. Generally quick finds today. After meeting the CO at Jindabyne events, pointed me in the direction of his cache which had a good D/T rating.
Thanks to all the CO for placing and maintaining their hides.

Such a hot day, and we decided to be a little lazy and tackle a couple of caches that required little or no physical effort.
The puzzle for this one has been solved sometime ago, ( neat and succinct)…and at GZ, in the still dry heat, a magpie sat, guarding the hide in the tree. It was so hot, that the magpie did its best to not move at all, even after I began the climb.
Eventually, it plucked up the energy to fly a short distance away, and I went to just a little higher to sign the log sheet.
Thanks Fox in Jox

Have to love a puzzle l don't need a hint for. Fun climb as well. Thank you so much
After solving & I arrived at the GZ. It wasn’t long before she had the cache in hand.
Mr Minion and I headed down to Canberra for the weekend, the weather was perfect and we had a nice first day. This cache was loads of fun . I do enjoy a good tree free climb but I did make this one a little harder for my self but still enjoyed it. Thanks for the cache fav point for the fun

Last cache for the night before The Welder and I settle back to camp to start the pack up. We have been in Canberra since late Friday night on a kid free weekend up from Melbourne having a ball. We have collected some great challenge caches, a variety of favourites and some nice DTs. This one will go nicely to our new collection. Thanks so much for the hide.

Cold, wet and dark - perfect for a tree climb! Well, it was actually, as I was already wet to the core from the day’s exploits in Queanbeyan.
At least the rain had now stopped, but that meant some resident muggles could bravely leave their houses to do a spell of local ‘trick or treating’.
Of course it had to be Halloween!!
Patience was key here while up the tree. I hadn’t needed any torchlight to ascend, but I was going to require it to find the little cache. With Heymissjo below, we waited until the myriad of muggles had departed before flicking on the light momentarily. And I kid you not, it shone straight on to the cache!! Nice.
A quick sign and shimmy down and we were done here, with a new D/T to boot.
Thanks so much, Fox in Jox.

I managed to find the tree and climb it while a couple playing fetch with their dog didn't seem to notice me. The dog sure did. TFTC
Found at 12:02:00 PM
Walked around the base a bit until I spotted it. My sig is very smudgy as the log was wet and ink pens don't write on that paper.
Thanks Fox in Jox

We’ve come across this puzzle type a couple times before, and even though it’s pretty simple, it’s always fun to solve! At GZ, I was nominated cache-grabber, and quickly and excitedly (haven’t come across one like this in far too long) scrambled to the cache. Got some funny looks from a few dog walkers, but totally worth it. The new log looks to be holding up good. TFTC Fox in Jox
Woof. Woof! Based on comments, I've checked and replaced the bison and included a new log sheet.
Found with SecretSquirrel-BJC. He spotted the cache container and I did the vertical honors. As noted previously the log sheet is very tatty and falls apart with any attempt to sign it.
#1826 Managed the puzzle with ease but an earlier visit left me empty handed. Today came back and realised I was barking up the wrong tree. Second time lucky cache spotted from below and claimed. Cheers Fox in Jox. Logbook is a bit tatty and in need of replacement.
Down from the cenny coast for a solo novo geocaching trip in the first week of January - a great way to start the year I say. I've decided to specifically hit Yass and CBR for a few days. The weather forecast over the time away is not great with storms and lots of rain on the cards. Today is forecast to rain a lot so we'll see how I go. I'd already been drenched out at Coree this morning so I'm definitely well into it lol.
Ooo this is a good one for my mystery fizzy grid. I do believe I only require one or two more spots after this find and they are 1/1 and 1.5/1 lol. Out at GZ was apocalyptic; it looks as if this suburb has been deserted lol. The grass definitely needs a cut here!! Up I went to quickly find the cache but I had a hard time signing as the log had been jammed in there by a previous finder. Good grief! I took it back to the car to straighten out, SL (at 2.14pm), and roll up this time. TFTC and puzzle and mystery DT, Fox.

Solved this before a trip south to catch up with friends before Christmas before leaving came with a couple of mates and with assistance was able to get to this cache.
With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache Fox in Jox
The following TBs visited for the distance - Hawkesbury Tiger, 2011- 2021 NSW geocoins, Area 51 Tag, Cache In Trash Out Geocoin, Cache In Trash Out Tag, CITO Micro Geocoin, dirty Black Juke, Four Elements Geocoin, Mary Hyde's compass, Optical Illusion Geocoin, Spindoc Bob Memorial Geocoin, Trackable Building Brick, Wales Flag, Wheel of Caching Geocoin

While nearby decided to finally pick up this cache. Was concerned about doing it in the wet, but with plenty of branches to grab there was no issue. Thanks for the fun!
Heading north today and with a dinner with family tonight...we still had time to grab this cache. Fills in our last spot on our mystery cache D/T grid. Arrived just as a storm was brewing but a quick climb and retrieve to find the cache. With the cache in hand we signed the log before replacing as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition - could do with a new logsheet when next passing. Thanks for the cache Fox in Jox.

Quick find and retrieval but the log itself was very difficult to remove. It looks like it was wet but has now dried and is impossible to sign as it falls apart. The thread is also damaged and it doesn't close properly.
Solved this one yesterday but ran out of time and daylight so l decided to leave it for another time and today happened to be that other time. After leaving the apartment this morning and hitting the road we swung past the gz and headed off to try our hand at this one. Did a little recon, spotted the hide and up we went, my teenage son got there first and l got sap all over my hands on my way up. Long story short, he signed it, I cursed the wet wipes for not having enough gumption for removing the sap before l jump back in the car and end up leaving half of the tree on the steering wheel. Swung past a coffee chop on the way out of the area and discovered their hand sanitiser cleaned up the sap real quick like. Anyway thanks Fox in Jox for the puzzle and the hide.
I took my muggle partner out for a driving lesson today, as he really needs to get his license before he turns 30 (I've decided). We wanted an area with some quiet back streets, as it's been over six months since he's driven. I of course started suggesting areas around geocaches that I was keen to find, and the back streets of Narrabunda were chosen. After doing many blockies, we finished for the day and came for this cache.
Since we were in the area for so long without searching, I was like a bull at the gate when we pulled up in front of the cache. I made an assumption on the GZ, and started climbing. After spending a couple of minutes searching with both of us in the tree, I went back to the car to grab my phone. It was then that I realised it was in another tree. Back another tree, after spotting it from the ground. As warned, it was indeed very sappy in the tree. Log as a little damp, but signed and replaced with moderate ease. I'm glad I learned hoe to unscrew things one handed in chemistry labs, it's the main skill I use out of my chemistry minor. Thanks for the fantastic cache Fox in Jox, and for plugging a hole in the Canberra region D/T matrix!

This weekend from 17-21/06/2021, I joined georode and gridge98 in visiting our nation's capital, Canberra for geocaching adventures. We prioritised the higher difficulty-terrain combinations, as well as the more special/unique cache types.
On Thursday, I largely spent the day solo and visited Black Hill lookout, the Botanic Gardens, Australian National University and nearby Canberra Central, and then gridge98 and I walked around the front of Parliament area in Parkes.
Friday was spent completing a few hikes in Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve and Kowen Escarpment Nature Reserve, before then meeting locals at a Friday evening dinner event.
Saturday was predominantly the UFO series in Bullen Range Conservation Reserve, targeting the higher terrain ridge area.
On Sunday, we arose to the morning's CITO event, before returning to Goorooyarroo Reserve for more walking around those hills.
Finally on Monday, gridge98 and I headed north to Yass for the Birds of Australia Wherigo series, a few climbing caches, and returning to ACT completing the UGC series.
Today, we arose bright and early to complete a subset of the UFO series, and walked a total 18 km up and down the ridge, covering some decent elevation.
After lunch, we concentrated on the southern suburbs of Canberra finding a select few geocaches that had attractive difficulty-terrain ratings. This included Gowrie, Royalla, Theodore, and Tuggeranong District. Then finally after dinner in the dark, we took a walk from our Watson accommodation to find a few geocaches in the vicinity. A long day indeed!
We made the stop after seeing the unique difficulty-terrain rating of this puzzle. The puzzle was very quickly solved back home, and interesting to see those three themed words together in a plausible geocache location!
We spotted the cache from the ground, and then made the tree climb up. The cache container was in good shape, but the logbook was soggy. Thanks Fox in Jox for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

After a big day of hiking the UFO series we stayed in the southern area for more target caching.

Thanks for the cache and the puzzle.

A simple puzzle that was easy to solve, stopped by GZ and after a quick climb the cache was found
This weekend I headed to Canberra with Davidwazza and Georode after being asked a month or so ago if I would like to join them for 4 days, planning occurred and a list of 110 targets were chosen consisting of DTs, oldies and special cache types.
Day 1, I arrived in the evening and headed out with David Wazza for a few hours before georodes arrival, we headed to capital hill to find some random caches in the freezing cold.
Day 2, we set off early in the morning for a half day hike around Goorooyarro Park collecting all the puzzles and a few trads in the area, after lunch we had walked 17km for the morning, off we headed to kowen forest for some of the CBR wherigos, half way around it started to pour so called it early and thought doing the drive bys in the series would be a much better idea, in the evening we went to an event and was great to meet a few locals.
Day 3, we set off before the sun had risen for the main target of the day, the UFO series, with so many in the series we focused on the ones along the fire trail and a few in the paddocks, despite being buggered we walked another 18km for the day, in the afternoon we targeted some of our target list in the southern area
Day 4, after a morning CITO we headed back to Goorooyarra Park to complete the remaining caches in the area and finish the L and P plate series, another walk completed over 15km for the trip, in the afternoon we drove around the northern suburbs collecting caches off our target list
Day 5, after dropping georode off at the airport, davidwazza and I headed to Yass for the birds of Australia series and a few of the challenges in the area, after completing the caches we headed back to Canberra past a few caches before attacking the entire UGC series, being tight for time the trip wouldn’t have been complete without going to the Canberra nature park to collect the oldest caches
Total of 356 caches plus a few labs along the way,
Thanks for the caches and their placements

Oh, yay, after two DNFs an easy find.
Solved this a little while ago and when I was looking for a daily cache for today, my eyes lit on solved puzzle coordinates.
Felt a bit exposed on a Saturday arvo and in a red jacket, but it was all very quiet around.

#11314 - 9:18:00 AM; Heard that this one was going to be published when I encountered the CO and his better half in Manuka at breakfast before the lock downs started. Solved it after it was published, but didn't get a chance to collect it until today. A nice straightforward climb soon had me eye to eye with the cache and the log was soon signed. Needed the turps when I got home to remove the sap I acquired making the find. Also needed this one to progress a challenge cache. Only a couple of 3.5/4 to go! TFTC Fox in Jox
An easy puzzle as you would expect for a 1/4, the climb wasn't too bad either.

Day 2 of the Canberra adventure. After being overly ambitious yesterday, we reset our plans for today. The CBR GeoArt was the main target with a handful of high value caches to go with them.
This cache was close to where we were staying so we set it as an early morning target. A great way to start the day.
Thanks Fox in Jox for the cache.

A weekend road trip to Canberra with RoamingHowie, targetting AdLabs, various grid fillers, interesting DTs, challenges and of course, solved puzzles.
Our first target for the day. Interesting setup in the tree nearby.

That was super fun. Up the wrong tree at first but after reading some logs realised my mistake. The next tree was my sort of tree climb. Many steps. And the cache was soon found. Tftc. A fave point from me. And another DT combo.
A solo tree climb!?! (With a ladder!?!) A new experience for me.
Nice quick puzzle and spotted after a minute or two.

Worth a favourite point for the fun had in discovering how this puzzle worked mid last year. Also loved the fact that I now could go up and get it all by myself. TFTC Fox in Jox.

Easy cache to find but quite difficult to get to! The cache was located in a tree which wasn’t to hard to climb but still provided a challenge! While climbing down, a branch that I was holding snapped causing me to slide down about a metre. Be sure to be careful when climbing! First difficulty 4! TFTC
Up at 'em early with AngelG27 and Fox In Jox to target a selection of higher D/T combos and a couple of others along the way. A great morning out challenging our tree climbing, teamwork and searching skills!
Easy solve of the puzzle using a tried and tested method! So today on the way back to the Fox's den, we swung by this one as it was a rare D/T combo I wanted. Nice, easy tree to climb, find and sign! All in good order with the cache and tree not too sticky today! The CO has removed the 'contraption' at the base of the tree so god knows in what form it will be resurrected after he has finished tinkering with it lol!
Thanks for the hide, Fox in Jox

21,727. Found during an afternoon caching run around Canberra today.
minniek and I headed into Canberra this afternoon on a mission to collect 10 caches. This was the next one on the list. Such an interesting D/T was certainly worth visiting. This time it was miniek's time to do the honours.
Thanks Fox in Jox and Ralphie !!

This cache is not a mere 1D. It's a puzzle for starters, which involves more than with a traditional. It's some time since I solved this, but in my notes I have written, "More difficult than one star. Not only the site given (which would be enough), but to get the correct coordinates for the checker, I needed to find another site to convert to coordinates."
Decrypter and I attempted the find in April, but that attempt, just as we got to the tree a voice called a greeting from atop the neighbouring tree. A kid has made it his abode there. So we said hello, but we had to leave without being able to retrieve this cache.
Today we attempted this again. I took an afternoon walk to join Decrypter at the tree. The weather changed from sun to rain and back again to sun on my walk there. I checked the neighbouring tree for anyone up there. No, today it was deserted. Yay! Decrypter arrived and up the tree he went.
Then I continued my walk to check on my nearby Rocky Knob cache, and then home. A wonderful rainbow filled the sky as I reached Captain Cook Crescent.

As part of the plan it was over to this one. No problem with the puzzle and at GZ almost climbed the muggles tree until a final check on the GPSr. No problems with the climb and signing duties completed. Plenty of bird life around. TFTC.
Found a couple of days ago with Noooty!
The puzzle was a quick solve. So a bike ride down to the park to see if we could spot the cache.
The tree next to it had what looks like a beginning of a tree house which is pretty cool. The cache was spotted very easily once at the right angle. Matches the D1. The tree climb wasn't too bad as well Noooty said he called climbing the tree, (even though I already called dibs) So while he was going up I headed up as well The cache elevation was soon reached however Noooty couldn't get the container open and got something irritating in his eye. So precariously balancing I manged to get the container open and headed down with the log. Log signed and cache replaced. TFTC Fox in Jox!!!

Great hide and hilarious puzzle. Solving the puzzle was a cinch but getting there was a whole other story we spent a week procrastinating then we finally went and did it. At the apex of the climb i got something in my eye so i got Ethisethat to come up and get the cache while i got whatever was in my eye out.

The cache was spotted from the ground and a few moments later I had the cache in hand.

Out to-day with the missus and Contesta for a bit of a walk around Kowen Forest till about 1.00pm. Nice walk after the sun rose a bit. As I had two tree climbers in the car decided to grab this one on the way home, though I think even I could have done this one. Contesta did the climb. TFTC.
TFTC That was a first for me and a nice little twist. Out for the day with Marmaduke and Betty Rothschild, and a great winter's day it was too. Perfect weather for caching across Canberra.
Solved when it first came out but saved the find until I could do it with a partner. Found during a nice afternoon biker ride. TFTH
I climbed this tree! I CLIMBED THIS TREE!!!!!!! Scared myself to death, broke a branch that I was standing on just as I was returning the cache.....but I did it, I returned it and then returned myself to earth, alive!. Fave point for ME (and one for the cache as well)

Another weekend caching run around canberra with Aquilus1, the focus was again on clean up. Finish some of the multi's we had started, collect on some newly solved puzzles (I was on a roll the last week!) and some of the newer trads that have popped up here and there.
First order of the day was to attack Red Hill... yet again! What made this even sweeter is one of the puzzle I solved just yesterday was exactly on one of the planned routes. We did a few s,all loops, here and there, moved the car and repeat.
Highlight of the day, apart from the company, was the Kebab from Yarralumla shops.... just the best! The tree climb I did was also an adventure to say the least. I don't DO tree climbs.... but this just looked gettable and I surprised myself by hauling my fat arse up there and getting it. The tree may have a few less branches now, and I certainly used one of my lives, but it was something I was proud of...once I was back on the ground.

With GreyHams we headed out on another enjoyable weekend caching mission with the focus on Red Hill. As seems to be the way we have both seen many visits up here and even after today's efforts there will be others. We meander our way about, adding in a few loops and detours visiting each point and puzzle along the way but for the most part it was an effective route around. GreyHams puzzle solving in the last few days uncovering yet another cache hidden up this way!
After the potential forecast of rain it was a pleasant sunny day and lovely to be walking out in the area although the legs did complain along the way in places! With the first part of the hill complete it was off to cache some flatter parts nearby for a well earn't rest and recovery, and a yummy lunch at the kebab shop in Yarrulamla!
Some more suburban caches was in order as we visited a variety of ones we both had yet to find with a few trees visited, will have to return another day for some but GreyHams did do the climb on one T4, I was very impressed!
Many thanks for your cache that helped lead to a lovely day out.
A nice and quickly solved puzzle but has sat for a very long time. We decided while close by we should come and look as I have heard its not so bad to climb. Well, yes for many I think this would be easy enough so I gave it a try, got into a tricky spot and couldn't get around from where I was although would have been missing the reach needed. GreyHams decided to come up on the other side and had the reach needed, very impressed as he just does not do trees, ever, and got the log signed. A bit of a moment when the branch he was on broke, glad to see he didn't tumble down with it... phew!

This afternoons caching was to visit to mystery caches. I had recently been able to solve these with a bit of help from Mr google and others. I had as usual left it a bit late, so dusk was approaching.
I think I managed to never use the lower device, but the real container was spied so up I went. I even managed to keep most of the tree muck off me.

After finding a cache in Callum Brae on the first day of publishing (now that publishing restrictions in the ACT have been lifted, what an exciting time!!!), I decided to get one more cache before coming home to do more uni work. Considering this is my closest unfound to home, it was too tempting not to grab. Thank goodness that there's another 1-star puzzle because I essentially can't solve anything above that! Parked on the nearby street, walked over to the tree and spotted it immediately - there was another "cache like" thing attached near the bottom of the tree though, which was weird to find. Anyway, this was a much easier tree climb than what I've done peviously so it was a very fun and exciting experience. The container was a bit hard to twist open, especially because I was in a tree, but after a bit of maneuvering I had it open. A lovely view from up top, as well. A very fun cache to break my caching drought - TFTC Fox in Jox!

The Reluctant Geospouse has been spending some time doing carpentry in the barn at the bottom of the yard.
RGS - "Thank you for doing so much cooking and cleaning" (very out of character for me - blame the CV19)
ZW - "that's OK, just help me get a geocache occasionally"
So, true to his nom de plume, he was reluctant at first, worried about the locals, but he quickly had this one in hand while I admired him from a different perspective.
thanks Ralfie (and Fox in Jox) a perfect poochy puzzle.

I was the tree climber. I couldn't actually open the container, I found it screwed on too tight for my hands, and they had sap on them
I walked here to check out the climb. A voice called out. Would you believe there was a kid up high in the neighbouring tree [:o]. Well, with someone in such an advantageous observing position, any idea of getting to the cache was put off for another day.
Found with Loci612. The locals didnt like me driving through the park right up to the tree. Signed the cache DSD
OK. When this first came out I read the description about the meaning behind the D/T rating of this cache and even wrote a note on the listing pointing out that a 1/3 is also very rare!
Well little did I know that this could of even been that 1/3 I was expecting a little bit of a tougher climb especially considering the CO of the puzzle! Was a walk in the park and probably one of the easiest tree climbs out there! I guess that sticky sap does make it a little more nasty though!
Funnily enough I actually visited this GZ before this cache was published, but after the other one was archived. I was hunting down the old archived cache and also found the contraption on the tree! So I didn't even need to use my GPS for this one after reading the description, I just went back to that same tree!

As we were near by having breakfast with family before everything was going into lockdown. AddictedGamer, Youban and I decided to show my niece what all the fuss was about with Geocaching. She was up from Sydney as most of her jobs were cancelled due to the virus and she was up to visit.
This was an easy solve and thankfully an easy enough climb for AddictedGamer and myself. He was able to retrieve the log, but getting it back was a little tricky, so I did the honours. I think I will take a while to get the sap out of my jeans, but it was worth it. Tftc Fox in Jox!!!
