Thanks for the Cache 63ROOS, staying the night at the RV stop I had a chance this morning to delve into the history of Oaklands. A very unique town and rightfully should be preserved. The thing that gets me every time I come here is an industrial noise coming from the west then Penny finally dropped it's the freeway, sure they bypassed the town with the freeway but they could have taken its noise away too.Regards from Victourer
Weve moved on to Oatlands for a few nights so today we are tackling the caches in town. After setting up camp and having some lunch we went for a big walk and found 5 caches and did the AL.Took a circuit to spot this one, hopefully cachers are not damaging the structure TFTC
#20778 - 2:49:34 PM; In Tasmania for a couple of weeks to visit family and friends and today we headed to Oatlands for a birthday lunch at the distillery. A fine feed it was and afterwards, as we headed north again, stopped off for a quick find and sign on this cache, which I'd solved before we headed across the Strait. TFTC 63ROOS
One of eight caches found today on a trip up north. The primary reason for our trip was to go to Agfest, but we took the opportunity to find caches in Campbell Town, Ross and Oatlands.I like the puzzles in this series and the places the find takes you, we quite liked the sculpture near GZ for this one. A quick find. Thanks for the puzzle and cache 63ROOS!
In Tassie for the next few months. So many great places to visit and so many different caches to find.Having this in the solved pile, I was hoping to grab a few while heading up north. Enjoyed the scenery along the way and so muh history in this quaint little town. An easy enough find at GZ.Thanks 63ROOS for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.
I'm pretty sure I found (or tried to find) a different cache in this spot many years ago.Quickly found - thanks.
After pulling up at the mill camp ground yesterday, there was a bit of blustery weather so we spent the time working out the puzzles in town waiting for the weather to improve.
A quick find on this one as we were leaving this morning

Been messing around with this history cache on and off, but always seem to get interrupted, lose our answers and have to start again. Finally got this one ready for a trip to the great capital south of the border.
Found in quick time, signed and secured. All in good condition 63ROOS, and thankyou for your work. Oatlands was fairly jumping with visitors and caravaners today. Excellent meals and service at the Kentish Hotel.

Seeing a cache in a rock wall I had visions of a previous hide in a similar spot where rocks were strewn everywhere.
Great to see no rocks out of place here....hope it stays that way.
Cache is in good nick.
Many tftc 63ROOS....much appreciated...cheers ST.

I enjoyed learning about some of the history of Oatlands for this cache. Always exciting when the coordinates are correct. Quick find on arrival at GZ. TFTC .
Today we travelled from Richmond to Oatlands, doing half of the caches of the Devil geoart. We are staying the night here in a historic cottage, but first we want to explore Oatlands, find the Ad Labs here, and pick up a couple of solved puzzles. We solved this one at the end of last year in preparation for our Tasmania trip.
We could see from the hint we were in the right place, and soon had the container in hand. Thanks.

We continued today our tour in Tasmania, AUS, and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Mystery-Cache.
The weather was - said in one word – simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood.
The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging.
Thanks to 63ROOS for the generation of this nice cache History of Oatlands (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.
PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they appeared.
Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood.

A group of us (11) from New Zealand have come over to cache in Tasmania, staying at Hadley Orient Hotel in Hobart for 3 nights. Now we're heading to Launceston this evening for another 3 nights and back to Hadley's for the last night. This is our 4th day here. I have G-2 and Pagenz with me in our rental.
I loved these trees - topiaries - something out of the usual, whoever does the maintenance needs to be congratulated I think. I was glad to get some photos while rushing around madly.

We had been told there were lots of snakes in Oatlands so this was a quick find and quicker retreat.
Day 4 of an 8 day caching holiday in Tasmania. Signing as GNJ or TD23 depending on whether its part or all of our NZ caching group.
Lots of swaps for small children. Two for the price of one here! Thanks for the puzzle and cache.

Didn't get time to detour into Oatlands on Thursday to grab these when we came down but
it was a quick find today as we make our way back home to Burnie.
Solved this one last night along with most of the other history puzzles ready for today. Pulled up and made an easy find. filled cache with some swaps and replaced. Everything in excellent dry condition.

Quick find with the geofamily as we tour Tassie. So much history around here! Thanks for the cache
After working out the puzzle twice (once during lunch in Launceston and again last night), I ventured forth with the aim of finding at least 4 today. I was unsuccessful down the road at my first stop but this one was fairly easy to find.
I know this place well as I used to have a cache here myself.
Thanks for the cache!

Solved this one and enjoyed learning a little bit of history about Oatlands.
While visiting for lunch today we took the opportunity and looked at some of the history we'd researched before heading to GZ.
At GZ we had no problem finding the cache and adding our names to the log.

Decided the night before to go for a caching day with RoadieM while the boys went to golf. We did a quick check of the puzzle caches in the area so RoadieM tackled this puzzle and had it solved very quickly. Just as we arrived at the cache it started pouring down but luckily I made a quick find - great to have shared team work. Thanks 63Roos.
Stopped to finish the adventure lab and pick up this cache. Thanks for the brief history.
Luck was riding with us as the pub was open for a late lunch and there were plenty of people enjoying the warmth and food. We settled ourselves into a seat near the fire and worked through the questions. We were so absorbed in the solving that we didn't see the pub empty. Maybe it was a coincidence that they left when our little group came in. We'll never know.
Got a decent set of coordinates and it turned out to be a quick find. Thanks for another history lesson 63ROOS.

Another fabulous history town cache. We also solved this one over a late pub lunch! The find was relatively straightforward which is good with these types.
Down in the Apple Isle with JACS and TeamARF for a week or so to hunt some caches and traipse about having adventures. With inclement weather approaching we utilised today to grab some along dirt roads. Managed to find a few of differing varieties! A fun day despite the rainy patches! Fab puzzles and wonderful countryside. Awesome caches all round! We are thoroughly enjoying this adventure and grabbing some very well maintained oldies Tftc
Solved this one last night just in case we detoured into Oatlands on our journey north and we did. A quick find. TFTC

Solved the night before today, i made this one 1st cache after lunch here at Oatlands [^]
At GZ i made sure to look with my eyes before touching anything. The booty was spotted so i carefully retrieved the cache and SL back at the GeoMobile parked within 10m of GZ
Replaced with the same care as the find as i don't want to disturb any part of history here [^]

Hi 63ROOS, thanks for yet another one of your familiar 'history of ..." puzzle caches. I always enjoy doing them and learning a little more Tassie history along the way.
Today, I needed to drop off KingSmev at Moonah just before 1pm, then a RodRendezvous@Ross to swap freight from his trailer to mine, then back for KingSmev at 5pm.
The plan for the return trip was primarily to clean up unfound caches in Oatlands, and the Adventure Lab. This was my first stop, the passing policeman eyed me off, but didn't stop or turn around, so either I looked innocent, or he was late for afternoon coffee.
Waited for some other passing traffic, and then made the find.
Cheers, EPs

I noticed your signature (also today) in a couple of other Oatlands caches I found after this one! I did wonder what time you were here; I kept an eye out, but didn't spot you anywhere.

Worked out the answers to the co ordinates and took the results to Launceston with me for a meeting and called in to Oatlands on the way home. TFTC
Hello 63ROOS thank you for the cache
A nice and easy puzzle solved sometime ago.
The cache took a little bit of searching for.
It's a pity the wall is been pulled apart by cachers looking for the cache.

First cache for the day, I solved this as soon as it came out, with it being dark it made for a quick find here. Cache is all good
Today I decided to head down to Hobart for the day and collect some targeted DT caches and some others in amongst them for the day, apart from the 30mins of rain the day was quite pleasant for caching.
All up 49 finds and 10 adventure finds.
Thanks for the cache

From one history puzzle to the next. As we drove through Oatlands today it was very busy. We were surprised at just how many cars there were. We drove on to where the cache was, made a quick find and headed straight out of town. We had discussed stopping for a famous pie but didn't want to immerse ourselves into a tourist hotspot. We had a packed lunch anyway!
Thanks 63ROOS

Mrs Beetle initially tackled solving this one but struggled to find the answer to one of the questions. So the whole thing was handballed over to Mr Beetle who lucked upon a website that had everything needed in it!!!
The cache itself was a quick find in a place where we had previously found a cache.
Thanks for the history lesson and the smiley.

T-Tech and I are down from Brisbane for a meandering holiday around Tasmania. We flew to Melbourne where we picked up the campervan and spent a day caching there, then took Spirit of Tasmania I to Devonport. Tick that one off the bucket list!
Today we are travelling from Pyengana to Hamilton as we have a booking for the weekend in Strahan. This cache was on my hit list, as I had solved the puzzle at home. I made a couple of turns around GZ before I found it. TFTC, 63ROOS.

Hi 63ROOS
Found and logged this cache in a similar spot that I found "Teddy Bears Picnic" by Swampy some time ago
A quick find as there was not multiple false caches this time as there was last time
Sainted the cache at 1150 hours
Have played golf at the nearby Golf Club - always enjoy coming here

We enjoyed this puzzle because we learnt some new things about Oatlands. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks 63ROOS for the puzzle and cache.
Solved this cache when it came out, but only today I had time to go and find the cache. An interesting day with 10 finds and a number of caches in the Apple and Devil to Maintain.

Today, on our 40th Wedding Anniversary, we decided to travel to Swansea for lunch and to collect a few caches on the way and after. In total we travelled over 400 km and this was one of the caches we found. After leaving Swansea we diverted into Dolphin Sands and then through to the Midland Highway via the Lake Leake Road. We had solved the puzzle when it first came out so good to now actually find it. One of our first caches we found 9 years ago was in this rock wall. TFTP
Logging this one late....found it in February this year whilst travelling to Launceston with Lil Rafa. A nice little puzzle and a nice quick find at GZ. TNLNBP.
Thanks for the cache 63ROOS.
RLD4963 and I stopped off here on our way to Launceston for the weekend - a few extra new caches pop up every time we head north. We often stop in Oatlands, it is such a beautiful little place.
This was a nice quick find. Thanks for giving us a reason to stop here again.

Suscoe woke this morning to steady rain and a cold breeze.
We were heading to Hobart today and we had hope of finding a few caches on our way along the roads that we travelled.
The rain started to clear later in the morning and we ended up having a fine but cold afternoon.
The rain coats were broken out for the first time this trip.
Thanks to 63ROOS for this history lesson.
We sorted the answer on the road to TOOMS and we had a GZ that looked promising.
The cache was soon found and the log was signed.

Hi 63ROOS thank you for two new puzzle hides, really enjoyed the history lesson and thanks to the checker was confident where both hides were placed. Headed up to Launceston for an Awards Dinner. This not so obvious hide was a little tricky the cache being a largish micro should have been easy to see. I guessed which rockwall it was in but the rock in front fits so snugly to the wall, great hiding. Thanks for allowing me another smiley.
We were heading north today and just before we left I read our emails and saw that you had placed two new caches just off the Midland Highway, so I took the time to research the history of Jericho and Oatlands so that we could add these two to our itinerary. We were very pleased to see that careful placement of the cache meant that no damage was done to the structure.
Love your caches 63ROOS. Thanks for your two new ones.

When this one was published last night we had a quick look through the puzzle and gained some workable answers and some increased historical knowledge. Tested the numbers out on the checker and (after correcting some copying errors) got the green light. Interesting to note that the various historical records have different dates for Lachlan Macquarie's visit although that does not change the calculation.
Woke up reasonably early this morning and decided that we may enjoy a "breakfast with Alby" near Oatlands so headed off. After completing the Jericho FTF came up to this one and the eyesight quickly homed in on the correct location. Again delighted with the FTF but still no Alby so onwards without breakfast!
